Wake County Human Services: what do users think?
Kaitlin Roth: Called 2 weeks ago to sign up for foodstamps. Said they'd call me back. Never recieved a callback and when I called to check in on everything, the extension to the foodstamp service took me to a dead line. THEYRE NOT EVEN TAKING PHONECALLS!! Maybe we should STOP giving refugees all of the assistance that TAXPAYERS pay for (and that pay State Workers' salaries) and there wouldn't be such an issue.
Ladyz Glamour: I just moved to NC and processing everything has been rough,I am currently pregnant and I called today to see what Is the status of my Medicaid and daughters medicaid and the lady who assisted me on the phone was so rude that I even cried over the phone and she laughed about it...I told her she didn't have to speak to me the way she did and sighted in Spanish ayh dios mio and I told her I knew Spanish and know what she said and her response was well you making me repeat things.....If you don't have the patience to speak to someone who doesn't have the knowledge of what to do specially from moving from another state then you shouldn't be working handling calls
Cora Bean: I have a child with Mental Health issues and this is the first place advertised to help. Case workers do not process application's and lie about things turned in, or things needed to be processed. This place is horrible and makes it hard to get benefits so easily advertised to assist families going through struggles.
Christina Quinerly: Very hard to get in contact with a caseworker when you have things that need to be completed I understand they are busy but sometimes it doesn't take much just answer a clients questions because we worry and get frustrated . I would give them a 5 star because they do have very nice caseworker but today I have to do a 1 star I have been calling all day and haven't got a hold of the person I wanted to speak with
Fatima Jimenez: The fact that I can't get a hold of a single caseworker is upsetting. Nobody picks up the phone!!!! Why even work in this field if you're not gonna help those who need you !
Kendra Jonnell: Homeless and could not get any help
Marvin Vereen: Thanks alot for your help today
Rachel Solomon: I didn't have to wait long and they we're very helpful.
Emily Leverett: They were friendly and very helpful
Porsha Grant: There is no way an establishment should be functioning with these types of reviews. This is why the world is in the condition that it is. Shame Shame Shame
Adrian Bove Guilarte: Good
Alesha G.: It really breaks my heart that people who are unable to work due to being in school or other reasons cannot get any kind of food stamps. I did my application had someone call me to verify everything, i explained everything that I was not working because I am in school and the only income i get is enough from family to pay my rent and bills. It is hard to get food my application was denied tried calling, even emailed the caseworker back that was on my case of course no response. Also have not received a letter on the reason why I was denied. There are some people out here who get food stamps for the wrong reasons and the people who really needs it suffers or gets denied. Guess I’ll continue to try.
James Nelson: Once I understand how North Carolina Medicaid (for men) really works then maybe I can get my meds...the ladies at Human Services said I need to get a physical but my coverage is Family Planning plus the only thing it covers is a pap smear (physical)...let me go get this pap smear I mean this physical done...but 1st I have to find a Primary Care Physician b.k.a. a PCP...they gave me a phone number for health care for my teeth that didn't work...o m g-oodness...Thank You ladies and WCHS...
Tricia Brown: Wake County Social Service has FAILED us over and over. I have been trying to change my special needs sister address since May. We now live in another city in NC and can’t receive any of the services that she needs because Wake County hasn’t changed our street address. A push of a button!!!! No caregiver, No work program Nothing! These people are heartless and simply don’t care. I’m spending hours on hold just to get transferred to Never Never Land! Get people in that office that actually care about people!!!
Briana Washington: When I say I never do reviews..I literally never do them. As someone who has experience in the field of Social Work it is very discouraging and disheartening to see how ineffective these case managers can be. I completely understand burnout and work overload but it is absolutely ridiculous that I am doing my part by getting my paper work submitted in a timely manner but cannot have the same done in return. I have been trying for the past MONTH to get ahold of someone and I’m always either forwarded to a voicemail or literally no response at all. People need their benefits so please just do your job!!!
Erin Wheaton: I really hate This doctor office they rude & every unprofessional !!! Clinic G ‼️‼️‼️🤬
Angelica: I was having a horrible experience, I called eight different people left multiple messages and emails and nobody was getting back to me for two months… And then I got a hold of someone named Angie K. L’Hoeste, this woman helped me immediately within 24 hours! I was trying for over two months… And got helped within 24 hours, I am so appreciative of her! This is someone who actually cares for those in need of assistance. Thank you 😊
Rachel Farmer: This is just terrible, I recertified for food stamps and my application has yet to be submitted. I don't know what's going on but these case workers need to do their jobs people need food. If you're not going to do your job then you should be fired no excuses. I keep calling and can't reach nobody it's ridiculous. Do your darn job people!
Tytianna Merritt: The case workers pertaining to the food stamps recertifications are simply lazy, even If you go down there they're put your paper work in which messes with your deposit date
collette judd: Visited to take care of some business it was ok everyone was nice and answered all my questions.

Methodist Home For Children - (aka MHC Family): what do users think?
Katherine Hutchens: In over 30 years, I have never worked with an organization with so much integrity and commitment to excellence! The leadership is inspiring and dedicated to the children, youth, and families we serve. Ongoing professional development and encouraging/supporting best practices are just a few of the ways MHC invests in its employees and achieves its mission.
Polly Willis: I am blessed to work at MHC for 21 years. Having worked in nonprofits my entire career, I have truly seen transformation in our kids and families lives! Each kid I meet has a story, not always an easy life. Our staff are amazing, caring, loving people and are very talented to help move our kids to a better place. We invest in our people. There are opportunities for professional development and skill building. The best part of MHC is the culture and the people. Because we are faith based we tend to have staff who are committed to building a better life for kids who don’t have a good family life. We focus on our values of honesty, compassion, empowerment, responsibility and respect! It is a family focused agency and I am blessed and proud to be a part of MHC.
Tonia Rogers: I am currently an Operations Manager at the Insight Crisis and Assessment center located in Granville County, I have been with the agency for 4 years. I love working with the youth and the staff. This is such a rewarding career and I totally feel supported by my co-workers, managers and the leadership team! If you are looking for a rewarding career and a chance to change the lives of youth, give our agency a chance!
Zoe Kiser: Many people I know have had terrible experiences working there. Low pay. Unsafe working conditions, leaving young female employees to handle groups of older teen boys alone multiple times. Conditions for the kids weren’t great either, very disappointing since this line of work is essential!
Krystal Locklear: Do not recommend working for. Everything seems go good, until you get injured or sick, then they fire you. They want you to go againest doctors orders. They lose paperwork H.R. and the home. Then blame you for not turning it in. I have my proof. You pay in for short-term and long-term disability benefits and you can't even use them.
Anthony Downey: I had the privilege of working here for 3 months now. I was promoted to supervisor within my first month. I really love working here. I feel like this is a great career choice to grow as a professional and to become an overall better person. I love the extra support and training that we have to keep us sharp, and learning new skills. I would definitely recommend this Job/Career to anyone looking to kickstart their professional career!
Antjuan Harrison: Prior to being employed with MHFC I worked alongside of them for almost 10yrs. The entire MHFC family fromFoster care, adoption, to the group homes take great pride in helping the youth they serve. I’m very happy to be apart of this team and would recommend family’s that need some assisted with their teens, children, and/or themselves to look into MHFC
Alex Pritchard: Enjoyed my time interning at the Raleigh Headquarters. The staff is supportive and create an enjoyable work environment. You can tell that everyone loves their jobs. They were also flexible about my schedule, which was greatly appreciated. Definitely would recommend it for college students looking for an internship.
Emma S: Would not recommend working for this company, especially as an assessment counselor or a teacher. Very low pay & poor leadership. Lack of communication was huge.
Julius Price: Shauna P is amazing!
Kirt Gonzales: The building is very easy to access and it was very clean. The staff there is very polite abd friendly.
Melissa Finley: There are foster parents out there they're trying to get licensed and this company moves so slowly. They don't give enough information in their first information meeting. They dragged their heels while meanwhile group homes are piling up with children. They're just trying to fill a quota while sitting back and collecting their salaries.
ß Love: Thank you for all the years you’ve cared for us!(great place to work too!)
William Mitchell: Nice and clean, great location
Kim Hale: Wonderful place. They do great work. Friendly people
Lindsay Brown: An amazing place with amazing opportunities
Crystal Rhynes: Fantastic folks
