Wake County Convenience Center #3: what do users think?
David Evans: **YOU CAN TURN LEFT INTO THIS PLACE. DON'T LET GOOGLE TAKE YOU AROUND INTL DRIVE!**This place is quick and easy. Do people park their card and block traffic while they take 30 minutes to unload? Sure. Are the folks that work here helpful? Sometimes. Will you catch them when it's full? Yes, but that happens at the big sites too. Do your best to leave time and be prepared to park away from the bins and walk your stuff up to get our faster. This is a small public (for Wake County) dump that is FREE - it's not going to be perfect.
Jorjor “FreddyBoy” Well: Easy to drive in small facility
Michael Meyer: Literally every time I have tried to come here over the past several years something is full or out of order or some other reason to turn me away. We just came today at 11:30 AM and they said they were completely full and excepting no trash or cardboard. Always the same story either the compactor is broken or they are full and never accepting anything.
Matt A: Was turned away at 6:30pm today when it was still open. Should change the closing time to say whenever they feel like it.
Rama b: Convenient for all kitchen and regular recyclables like paper. Cardboard, books, bottles. There is a separate bin for shoes and clothes
David Hertzberg: Yet another Wake county failure. Garbage disposal without garbage disposal included.
rodmxw11: Staff is pleasant and super helpful. Very convenient drive-in / drive-out access.
Carl Dimal: Rude staff
Glenn Jordan: Crowded, but fast anyway. Got all our trash unloaded, no problems.
Rob Brown: Best convenience center!!!
Ryan Hess: The attendant at the site turned me away at 5:45 PM when the sign clearly said that they were open till seven.
Greg Wiseman: Super convenient. Great asset for the county
Amie Titus: I'm pregnant, and went there today with my sister and a car filled with boxes and packing materials. The worker was amazing. He not only told us where to put everything when we looked lost, he helped us with everything in the car. I think he noticed I was struggling with some boxes, and he took them off my hands for me. He was friendly and had conversations with us. I will definitely be making that trip again.
Gary Pearce: I think it was Rob attending today. Very friendly and helpful.
Susan Crudele: Typically long lines! But always painless!
Peter Caggiano: Amazing staff. Always friendly and professional. Can get busy so be prepared.
Muhammad Y. Ibrahim: This collection center is very easy to access, is well maintained and kept clean. The staff are always ready to help you with offloading although I don’t think they are required to. Nice of them I’ll say. I was in and out in no time!
Balachandar Thangavel: Staff was very very nice . Helped me pick items from car and throw it into appropriate trash bins...
Kimberly McMunn: Some people using this site need to follow directions and follow the pictures as to where things need to go and then maybe the attendant would not yell at them if they did not act so stupid
Lach Kincaid: Was the only one when I pulled up to unload a full bed on my truck. Before I finished there had been 6 more folks there. Busy but orderly.
Peter Orahovats: My experience here has been always great. Excellent people staff this place. Always courteous and willing to help. If only the county had the resources to compensate the workers sufficiently and maintain the infrastructure appropriately.

Wake County Convenience Center Site #2: what do users think?
Al Whitehouse: The renovations they did a few years ago have been a game changer. Really easy to get in and out.
David Knell: The people who work here are always cheerful and helpful. They always brighten my day.
Alex Grossman: Large center that took everything we needed them too, including bed and box spring queen size. Well organized and friendly staff. Rare that I need to go but when it's needed, it's really really needed. Very easy to get in and out too which was nice
Kurt Selden: Well organized
Angel “Out&About” A: Per Apex's FB page, this location was taking Christmas trees to recycle. Glad I called before the fact, because that is not the case. Person on phone was rude and unhelpful.
Chad: Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Paul Lockett: Nice place very clean those who rated it one star Are ignorant rude and stupid
Sam Estridge: The trash police are ridiculous.
Victor: A couple of days ago, I brought several 5-quart size bottles of used motor oil to Old Smithfield collection center. The young employee who watched me coming told me that I HAVE TO climb the stairs and pour the oil to the large container personally. He then proceeded to make sure that I do not leave the bottles for him to dispose. I was not prepared for this request, my clothes and shoes were not suited for this task, not to mention that I am 72 years old with leg problem. Is this the best service we can get at this tax funded facility? I left upset and disappointed.
Alem Woreta: Well organized 👌 and open 7 days a week.
Rob Morris: The staff is friendly and do a great job of confirming what one has to dispose of. Just be aware they will not assist anyone, so bring another set of hands if you need help.
Logan Day: The employees always have a negative attitude and are beyond rude. I have been a resident here for 20+ years and yet everytime I come to this facility I have to fill out paper work and am harrased/interrogated by the employees to prove I am a wake county resident. Tax dollars hard at work here. Not my fault that neither the town, this facility, nor the county, has the proper infrastructure necessary to sustain the rapid population growth. There are piles of garbage visible from 540 and the entire town reeks of trash for God sake. Local government should be ashamed of themselves
Peter Piper: This place is so frustrating, I can't help laughing. EVERY time, I go there, I get yelled at and usually bring something back. "You can't put that here". "That goes over there". "That's closed today". "This is full". Round and round the circle I drive stopping at multiple stations, sometimes twice. 45 minutes to unload completely. When did garbage become so complicated? IT'S GARBAGE for crying out loud!
Allen Kirk: Friendly guys
David Kadlec: Easy to find, organized, friendly staff
Missy Chacon: Friendly staff and no lines
EMS Life: Great place to take any household waste that you have.
Jon Betti: If you're trying to recycle, don't go here. Some worker told me off for trying to put recyclables in the mixed recyclables drop and told me to put it in the trash instead. Your tax dollars at work.
Amanda Schaffers: Certain sections (rigid plastics, electronics) close earlier than the time listed here on Google. After driving a car-full 30min to get there, they refused to to even speak to us because they had closed those sections 2 minutes prior. I asked several times when they reopen, and they continued to just threaten to lock us in before finally listening to our question and answering that they'll be open again Monday. Very antagonistic environment for just trying to recycle something...
Kay O'Hara: Excellent facility. Traffic flow and helpful attendants. No charge to dump household trash. I appreciate the ability to dispose of electronic and hazardous waste.
Dom Vidrine: Would be super helpful to list the CORRECT opening times for the section of the dump that closes at 4pm, not 7pm for the other side… wasted a 30 min drive to drop off my old fridge..Why not keep the same opening times?

Wake County Multi-Material Recycling Facility: what do users think?
Donald Brown: Well organized. Friendly staff. Waste separation bays and signage makes it easier to navigate through the facility with your vehicle.
Kenneth “Kenny” Finch: Well organized and easy to use
Mike L: Place is great and well organized. It was easy to dump coolant and engine oil in one bay then bring some older house items to the next bay over. It was pretty clean considering it was a liquid recycling center.
shawn deena: Great place, well organized
Jeff Groves: Very efficient design of the facility. One improvement could additional signs to the other areas at the entrance to the location.Very nice people, and very helpful.

Wake County Convenience Center Site 4: what do users think?
Ann Wagner: Make sure if you have a trailer with 2 axels, box truck, or an inclosed trailer you PRINT out a permit prior to going to any wake county dump.
AJ: I haven’t had a bad experience here yet, since we moved to the area this place has been a lifesaver for disposing of moving boxes, furniture boxes, etc. This is for Wake county residents only and is “free” as in no direct cost at the time of disposal, it’s paid for by taxes. They have really flexible hours; it is usually fairly busy on the weekends but we’ve rarely had to wait. You can recycle electronics here on Saturday and Sunday. For regular recycling (paper, plastic bottles, glass), you do not need to separate, but you do have to empty it all from whatever bag or box you carrying them in. Corrugated cardboard goes into a machine to be baled (if there are air pockets between the layers, that’s corrugated), other lighter cardboard (like cereal boxes) goes in with the rest of the mixed recycling. Other interesting things you can bring here for recycling/disposal:-Oyster shells-Clothes and shoes-Compostable food waste-Scrap metal-Construction waste (presumably DIY stuff you do at home, contractor waste is prohibited)Things you *cannot* recycle/dispose of here:-Yard waste (available at other disposal centers, just not here)-Hazardous waste, oil/sludge/, lead-acid batteries-Medical waste-Concrete-Asbestos-containing materialsIf you drive a commercial type vehicle, such as a heavy duty truck or van, I could see where they might turn you away. There’s a whole lot of construction contractors who would gladly take advantage of free waste disposal.
Kiefer Smith: They don’t take concrete. 😔
Fran Freeman: Very friendly staff willing to help and give assistance as needed.
gregg schorner: Its not a dump. Workers are very help and keep it tidy.
Eric Wilke: Very convenient to the Penny and Lake Wheeler Road areas. You can drop off most of your recycling here, but unfortunately they don't take household or motor oils.
Joshua Hancock: The supervisor is one of the biggest pieces of **** I’ve come across in some time. Profiled my truck before I ever stepped out then said couldn’t dump because I’m a renter of a house in wake not the owner. News flash that’s a huge percentage of the area and you think a property manager is going to get a his home owner that owns thirty properties to come to dump with me. Stupidity summed up in one individual is that man.
Kierra D. Wright: Clean and organized with friendly staff.
Kirsten Malling: Shirley, Herman, and Ike wee so kind to help this 5’2” Chick get rid of a queen Mattress and box spring…. If your coming in the summer bring a cold bottle of water…. It is always appreciated!
Carol Anne: Great place to go early in the afternoon or early in the morning. The people that work there are very nice, even though they have to deal with alot of different types of people.
parth singh: Easy to use, the attendant was very nice and helpful! the website mentions the restrictions if you're using car or truck.
jonathan brown: Clean location and helpful employees
Evelyn Martinez: I hate this place!!!! They are so mean !! Because of my color of skin. don’t come here the women was so mean to me and my father
Roxana Martinez: So disappointed just because we used my husband truck we can't drop the carbon box there we have small car and the truck is more easy to take the thras in the truck the old ldy said no because is a business truck so we don't alow to take our own thras there the employees need to take a better judgment not just for looking the car when they see isn't a construction waste
Haley Brooke: Terrible customer service, they are always just sitting around not doing anything and telling everyone where they can and can't put their items. The construction dump box is always closed and never avaliable for use. Only option they seem to be able to provide is to drive 25 minutes to another site and hope to babel to dump there.Huge frustration and inconvenience for a service we are paying residential taxes on and can never seem to use. Highly disappointed in the lack of responsibility and accountability in the employees at this site.
Deborah McCollum: Very convenientAlways cleanNice staffMakes me smile with the new overseerGood neighborsPolite helpersUsually very busyCould use another regular trash dumpster open
Joe Rana: I bring my trash and recyclables there.pull in drop off and leave. Easy in and put
M. Tucker: Who makes the rules here? They aren't posted anywhere on Wake County websites. This is the second time I've been turned away and not allowed to dump because of the vehicle I was driving. What sense does that make? I understand if I was trying to dump commercial waste and not pay but, I had two large bags of household waste and was turned away because I was pulling an enclosed trailer??? How Stupid Wake County. Also, maybe train your attendants how to treat people with a little respect.
Duane Tutor: They take a lot of different things, but not old florescent bulbs or liquids of any kind.
Anthony Williams: Great spot
Joel Abrahams: People there were nice and helpful. I went there at Sunday when it just opened. It was not busy.

Recycling center Oberlin (bin): what do users think?
Herb Hook: I could not believe how horrible this place was. Trash and broken furniture laying everywhere. The City ought to be ashamed of how this recycling center looks & is maintained
No Name: ***ATTENTION***THIS IS NOT A DUMPING SITE!This place is for RECYCLING only. STOP dumping your trash here people. Every time I come here it's worse and worse. Stop being lazy and take your garbage to the landfill or put your garbage out for special pickup at your house. This place is for products that QUALIFY for recycling. NOT Styrofoam, NOT plastic bags, NOT garbage, NOT furniture, NOT mattresses, NOT food waste. There are signs posted on what you can and can't leave. Can you read?? If I see you dropping off stuff that doesn't belong here I will call you out and take photos. To the City of Raleigh: Please DO SOMETHING about this problem! Better, clearer signage would help. The signs on the bins are worn and no very clear. Use bolder, higher visibility signs with the words "NO DUMPING" and "STOP --- READ BEFORE LEAVING ITEMS". Clearly state which plastics can be recycled. Again, bigger, better and CLEARER signage is needed. Or HIRE an attendant to monitor the area.
John Orrand: This recycling center is great. Been using it for over 25 years. Please note that if you are too lazy to break down your boxes or take your trash to an appropriate drop off (many in Wake Co), find another center. Lots of folks who can't read just dump random junk on the ground, especially in recent years.
Scott Bower: This place is, frankly, full of garbage.
dmeloling: Great recycling center. Awesome.
