Unfortunately BFS did a very poor job and the door is no longer in it's original state with the glass portion in the frame detaching slowly from the frame (wood). And now that is has been more than an year, they don't have the responsibility to fix. It is unfortunate that they leave the customer with no options

E Kinlaw: I would give you a 0 star, unfortunately that's not an option. On 2 different occasions I have stopped here looking for vinyl materials for porch columns. The staff out front are the most disconnected people I have ever dealt with. You can walk in and make eye contact with them and they will look away and not greet you or at the least acknowledge you standing at the sales counter. That will be my last visit to this place. Not asking for much other than a hello or we'll be right with you. Nothing other than looking at you then dismiss your presence and look away. Mark Knauer: Working on fixing up own house and was in real need of some lvl's to add support underneath second story. Lowes & Home Depot were at least 30 to 60 days out to get product. Nice guy at Lowes suggested Builders FirstChoice. Called and they were not sure of inventory. Stopped by and gentlemen at front desk looked for what I needed on computer. Was not in computer system but said I could go back to lumber yard and look. Men working back in the yard were very friendly and helpful. Tracked down needed lvl's, Builders FirstChoice came through big time for me. Thank you for your help.

frank kaminsky: I've been here 3 times (stupid me) and have waited in line 1/2 hr + each time with only 1 person in front of me. This place is just run wrong. Trying to order anything takes forever and their inventory is limited. Even going into their yard is a bad experience. No one will help and their yard is full of ruts and pot holes. I'm a contractor but maybe this place is just geared for big commercial builders. I've been to lumber yards all over the country and want to support the non box stores but do yourself a favor and go to Lowe's.

Alex De Lara: It has the stuff you need but watch out if you order a door... the door has to be made under specs. Mine was made 1/2 inch taller than it should and when it arrived, of course, only found out the problem when the dang thing wouldn't fit the rough opening. This was a replacement door and I had other things going on at the time of the installation and with an overseas trip scheduled to go in two days. Result: I had to work until late night to get the door almost jam in the rough opening in order to get something in place and I could travel.Then a couple of the hinges were installed skewed so when the door opens, there was considerable torque on the frame so I had to remove these hinges and reinstall them. And one of the hinges, had an extra not cut piece of metal interfering with the installation. Terrible door that later I had to remove and reset it in place ugh.The siding order of hardy planks was finely delivered... for free, which I can't complain, thanks.Will buy stuff again here again, but not doors for sure.

Anna DeBoy Parnell: Working with this company was impossible. We tried working with Nancy to get kitchen cabinets for our kitchen that had flooded. She would never communicate, and I mean never. Both me and my partner as well as our insurance agent and contractor tried calling and emailing multiple times, and Nancy would never respond or be reachable. We wasted 6 months waiting on them to respond to place our order, and was so frustrated we ended up canceling everything and going with another company. Complete waste of time and incredibly unhelpful. We will not be using this company for anything in the future.

Carrie Walker: We stopped by to look at a few floor models of exterior doors and to get some quotes for a home renovation. We were initially greeted when we walked in and shown to the floor models. We requested a few minutes alone to review what they had and discuss our options. After this, we were not able to receive any service. While waiting for the initial sales person to complete a phone conversation I asked another gentlemen if they had a catalog for a specific brand and I just received a sharp no. My husband and I waited a few more minutes and decided to leave. We drove 2 minutes up the road to BMC. Wow! What a difference, we were greeted as soon as we walked in the door (with much more enthusiasm and warmth, I might add) and within minutes had an excellent associate assisting us and answering all of our questions pertaining to patio doors. We are awaiting our quote from BMC but will most likely be purchasing through them. Additionally, they have a much larger inventory of floor models when it comes to doors and windows. Save yourself the time and just GO TO BMC!!! Better service and a better store!!!

Anthony Coriale: With the merger between BMC & Builders First Choice going on, it’s been difficult to get good information on product, until today. I spoke to Antonio at the Yonkers Rd. location. He got everything I needed listed out for me. I then drove there & was asked to go to the door building to pick up what I purchased. I was greeted by Derrick who chauffeured me to the crew via golf cart. Darrius & Jeramie took my pick sheet & grabbed every piece, making sure each was correct & in perfect condition. I watched them inspect each piece. Also added weather stripping to each piece. These guys went out of their way to provide exceptional service and I have not seen this level of service in some time. I am extremely impressed by the professionalism & courtesy of this crew. The rest of the employees were running a tight operation from what I saw. I am not affiliated in any way to this company nor do I know any of the individuals I’m reviewing. I simply feel they should be recognized for their exceptional work. One can say: it’s their job. And that would be true, however, it is very rare to see people trying to excel at their job today. Service seems to be all but lost today. I will be going back to see these guys without question. Outstanding experience at Builders First Source due to a few employees who care about their work. I greatly appreciate all the assistance Antonio, Derrick, Darrius, & Jeramie.
