REX Hematology Oncology Associates-Cary: what do users think?
April Hunter: I absolutely loved the people and doctors.
Rhonda Bartone: The nursing staff, Susan and Rose were amazing! Highly recommend if you need an iron infusion.
Angela McNeill: I’ve been coming here since 2015 and always had a positive experience. The staff and doctors are all friendly and professional.
Lauren Jackson: Awesome place! Office staff isn't super warm but the infusion nurses are AMAZING. They make sure you are comfortable and give you snacks and drinks. I will recommend this office for anyone who needs chemo or iron infusions.
Santhosh Kumar: Be prepared for long wait time for no reason. Lack of communication. Always minimum two hours for a visit.
Betty Nightengale: The Drs are excellent but you have to be prepared to wait for the worst staff and total lack of communication among tech staff. There has obviously been a total change in procedure in last year none an improvement. To bad it was great.
Austin Dancer: AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!! THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!
Kat M: My experience here wasn't that great for various reasons. Their office staff is sorely lacking. I had to call them twice to get an appointment, and then I had to call a third time because I was not emailed a confirmation and paperwork like the woman told me she would. My primary care physician had faxed and uploaded my records three times before they would even acknowledge they had them. I just got a bad feeling from the git-go and I should have followed my instincts in this case. On the day I walked into their reception area for my appointment, there were three women behind glass windows that were closed - and when I walked in, they glanced up at me through the glass but not one of them offered a greeting. They had a little sign on their window that they would call you when it was your turn or something to that effect. I had never encountered anything like this before in a medical practice. Another woman walked in a few minutes later and they ignored her, too. I met with Dr. Eisenbeis and he was pleasant and informative; however, he told me that he primarily treats stage 4 cancers with chemo and my cancer cannot be treated with chemo (as I already knew), so I did wonder why he made an appointment with me at all. He told me he'd refer me to another specialist. (I told him that I did not want to drive all the way to Chapel Hill for medical care, but four weeks later when I finally got a referral, it was from UNC in Chapel Hill !) After waiting 3 weeks for the referral, I called the nurse line of this practice and left a message about my awaited referral. The nurse left a message on my voicemail that she didn't know why I was calling. I called again (you can only leave a message) and explained WHY I was calling in more detail. The nurse called me back and referred me to the doctor who had done my first surgery at Duke Cancer Center that I was not seeing anymore. Am I joking? No - this really happened. So then, I decided that I would call another location of this practice in Raleigh, because the website stated there were doctors there who treated urologic cancers, and apparently that's a big NO-NO to these people because it caused all kinds of ridiculous drama that I did not need. A woman from Dr. Eisenbeis' office called me a few days later and chastised me for calling another location and telling them that Dr. Eisenbeis did not WANT to treat me, and I never said that to anyone. I SAID that Dr. Eisenbeis CAN'T treat me because he doesn't perform the surgical procedure I need. Finally, this woman told me that NONE of the the UNC/Rex Hematology Oncology locations have surgeons. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that once any doctor in their practice reviewed my records and saw that my cancer cannot be treated by their practice, I should have been TOLD immediately to keep looking. I'm not saying at all that these are not fantastic doctors who are excellent in their fields - but I am saying they need to completely reevaluate how they interact and communicate with patients. I have already had one cancer surgery, and all of this DRAMA was very upsetting and completely unnecessary. And while I'm sure the doctors are wonderful, from my brief experience with them, their clerical/reception/scheduling staff need A LOT more training. I have not mentioned any names here to limit any embarrassment.
Laura H. McCann: I have had nothing but wonderful experiences at Rex Hematology Oncology. Staff is caring and the facilities are always well kept and clean. Dr. Sherrod is the most wonderful doctor and does everything possible to help her clients.
Cathryne Lanning: Dr Sherrod was wonderful a completely caring professional experience unlike what I'd experienced at Waverly oncology. Thank you Dr Sherrod
Steve Tedesco: Of course nobody ever wants to even think about having to see an oncologist for themselves or a loved one. Originally I was going to see the hematologist but unfortunately it didn't shake out that way long term. The facility is clean and attractive, the staff friendly and attentive. They've stuck me several times to draw blood and haven't hurt me yet (definitely a plus cause I'm a big tough total P%$$&) but I can't say enough good things about my oncologist. Dr. Sherrod was straight forward with me, she didn't sugar coat anything, she did a bone marrow biopsy in her office on my initial visit and I had the diagnosis the next day. But as straight forward and matter of fact as she has been about everything, she shows that she obviously cares about me as a person and my situation and family as well. She has gone out of her way to answer whatever question I had by the quickest means possible and has never hesitated to do anything within her power to make my situation better. If you have to go through something that requires an oncologist and I pray that nobody would, this is a great place to be a patient.

Duke Women's Cancer Care Raleigh: what do users think?
Michael Sparks: Nothing like a 5 hour round trip just to find out your provider isn't there and you can't be seen at your confirmed appointment. Nothing but a "sorry" from the staff.
Lakesha Mewborn: I love the everyone there so passionate
David Ioli: Would sincerely suggest you go to Duke Durham for much better care! Went with my wife for her first appointment and after meeting the Doctor/Surgeon she informed my wife that she would be going on Vacation and would not be doing her surgery. So my wife had to travel to Durham where the surgeon Was Everything that the one in Raleigh wasn't. Dr Previs was absolutely terrific! Then my wife was to go back to Raleigh for her surgery follow up and the same woman Dr who passed her off Didn't Show up for my Wife's appointment and Furthermore made her wait in the waiting room for 90 minutes. We had traveled a great distance and were never notified. Do yourself a favor and save a great hassle and time as a sick person and Avoid this location! Dr Davidson was the Doctor and her behavior was very extremely lacking and inconsiderate. You can do much better for your family member than what this location offers! They are also Very High Pressure on getting Radiation Therapy when a patient is at very low risk which was our experience. God bless and be well!
Jasmine Nguyen: Natalie at the front desk was amazing, and Elaine with radiology was awesome! The sweetest staff and doctors ever, I am grateful. Thank you. I felt extremely comforted!
Megan Sweeney: Such a painful mammogram I don’t know if I would have another done ever. The tech didn’t care Al all how much she was hurting me. Still in pain the next day
Mike Risley (Coastal Construction): Gave the absolute best care for my wife during her chemo treatments.
Chester Raybon: Dr. Spiritos is both caring and knowledgeable in his field of work. He is also experienced and goes the extra mile to diagnose the problem correctly.Through recommendations from several people I knew it was him I wanted. After only a couple of hours and then final conformation 4 days later, he was able to handle my anemia problem from my stage 4 kidney disease with confidence. Something several other doctors tried but couldn't figure out.The facility and staff were top notch also.
Patricia Holmes: I have been a Stage 2 Cancer patient with other factors which placed me in a higher medical state. From the moment I sit foot in Dr. Spiritos Chemotherapy department & he also was my Hemotologist, Dr. Stephens my Radiology physician, to the staff at the Reception desk Ms. Teresa & Ms. Raynor of the Infusion area and now Dr. Pyriani my new Chemotherapist/Hemotoligist.I have been treated as though I was one of their family members. Professional, personable, always willing to extend themselves beyond the normal cold sterile hospital bedsideI don't know about any other patients experience but every Dr.and Staff member I have dealth with from Dukehas errand my undying loyalty, respect, trust & love. I thank each & everyone of them for caring for me, allowing me to voice concerns, ask questions regardless of the time and never keeping me in the dark about what to expect during and after treatment.Thank you all!Patricia aka what color wig Holmes
Anne Miller: Brenda in radiology is so very nice and went above and beyond for me. I called on the phone needing assistance and had gotten her extension by mistake and rather than telling me that I had the wrong department and sending me elsewhere, she cheerfully solved my problem for me!!
Vanessa Duthie: This place is the absolute worst. I actually really liked the doctor I saw, but there was no follow up for scheduling an ultrasound or referral. I can can't get anyone in scheduling, billing, or the doctors line to return a phone call. I went in 2.5 months ago and never received my test results. I have filed a complaint online and no response. Terrible and inhumane service to those in need.
Kevin Powell: My wife is currently undergoing treatment there and WE couldn't be any more pleased with the care she has received. The staff is wonderful and the course of treatment appears to be working great. It has gone very smoothly and any questions and/or concerns have been addressed very quickly. We love everyone there!
Bill Green: Wonderful and caring Doctors and staff. Facility is pretty large, but nice. Nice waiting area and lobby, coffee is a bit hidden in another room adjacent but it is there.
Melissa Glazier: I come here for my mammograms and love the staff. They have always been friendly and provide a warm environment.
Jane Thompson: Be Careful and do your research, there is a internal conflict between staff on what is optimal for a patient and what is a conservative approach for using resources. They lean on more conservative rather that was it optimal for a patients health and well being.
Amy Williamson: The staff at Duke Women's Cancer Care on Macon Pond Road has been amazing through the past 10 months that I have been treated there. I can't imagine ever going to another facility. They sure make what I am dealing with a little easier and a lot less stressful :) Thank you everyone at Duke for always taking such good care of me and so many others!
Tonya Moneymaker: I spent almost a year with Dr. Spiritos and his staff. I know this sounds crazy, but I always looked forward to my visits. He and his staff were very knowledgeable, compassionate, and also fun to be around. They also kept up with the latest cancer research progress and used it accordingly. I knew they were doing everything possible to keep me alive - which obviously they did!
Amanda Curtis: Excellent! Everyone I interacted with at this practice was friendly, compassionate, and professional.
Rachena Webb: Went for an ultrasound and they were very fast and friendly.

UNC REX Cancer Care: what do users think?
John Pate: My wife recently finished a series of therapeutic radiation treatments. While this facility is clean and beautiful, and the care outstanding and prompt, the staff were remarkable - all of them, from reception to providers. The staff's level of compassion and concern was above and beyond, at the level I'd expect to see perhaps in echelon ministry leaders, not in a healthcare facility. I would like to thank whomever is responsible for creating such a remarkable culture.
Steve Johnson: The new facility is great. Easy parking and entrance. Beautiful new place. I thought that there might be some hiccups as they had just opened a couple of days prior to my appointment. But noway, the entire staff was running on all cylinders !From check-in through nurse review, doctor visit, labs, and checkout, no waiting and prompt courteous service. A great experience when your not feeling well to begin with !
