Dana Spector: This place is great at marketing to humans. However, not so great for dogs. After the first class, my puppy seem to be a shell of herself and terrified of me. The second time we were in a class and saw the trainer a puppy in a dark bathroom for misbehaving. Also, during that second class we were interrupted by a woman and young men who were rearranging our classroom for 10 minutes with not even an acknowledgment of the disruption. One of the last straws for us was when unprovoked and across town, we met a stranger who claimed to work as a dog trainer, who had a surprisingly large number of students from this school who needed extra training for aggression. Our trainer at Jacki’s said that dogs should be seen and not heard, no affection, no socializing (puppies), etc. Since we’ve left, my pup has gotten awards, accolades, and bonded with me much better.Edited after the business left a response to this review. There was one other client in the class with my pup and I. We met up a few times outside of class. They claimed that they also dropped out. Our pups spent three hours in training rooms together over three weeks yet didn’t meet until we connected outside of class. Social skills are important for young pups to develop yet these two were taught to be strangers by the Jackie’s trainer.

His wife had a big smile. That's what it's all about. Thanks to Jackie and Lynn for helping Beau and I get closer to our goal of getting Beau his Therapy certification!
Kat Stephenson: Jackie and all of the agility trainers are absolutely wonderful. It is such a welcoming, positive place where you’re free to make mistakes and celebrated when you and your dog excel. Both the trainers and the other dog owners are upbeat and kind. It truly feels like a family, while still remaining professional and helping us improve week after week. Visiting Jackie’s is the highlight of both my and my dog’s week!
Jamey Widener-Reynolds: My crazy German Shepherd, Izzy, and I have been going to Jackie's for some time now and Izzy has come so far! "We" are students in an ongoing agility class and it has given my shy and nervous sheppy lots of confidence! Rebecca (truly a dog whisperer) has been our trainer for the whole ride and she really gets Izzy. I really appreciate that, when I have an issue with my girl, I can ask Rebecca about it during our agility sessions. She always has good advice! Izzy and I look forward to learning new things at Jackie's!

Claire E: We LOVE Ms. Lynn! Our Hound/Lab mix is a sweet boy, and can be quite the handful! We have done many classes at Jackie’s, including obedience, agility, and individual sessions. All have been a great value, and the variety of equipment is awesome. Agility 101 has been his favorite class. Even though it says “101” they are great at challenging each pup just right.During COVID, due to high risk family members, we haven’t been able to do much out side our home. Lynn texts us, asks how Heath and our family are coping. She shares in his funny moments, and now that all members of our family are vaccinated we can’t wait to get back!

Chelsea Sullivan: We did an initial training session in which Jeff sat across the room from us and observed our dog and our interactions with our dog. Our dog has anxiety and some reactivity issues. After the initial session Jeff advised us to talk to our vet about anxiety medication, which we did. Some time later I reached out to Jeff as we were having a reactivity problem with our dog and his harness, in which I requested help. I sent a short follow up email to say we were attaching his leash to his collar which did not feel secure and that we had ordered a slip collar. I'm including those emails and the response we received below. I will let you all decide if this was an appropriate response.Hi Jeff,I wanted to reach out to you with a question. We put Clontarf on fluoxetine, and it seemed to greatly improve things for a while. However, we are now having an issue where he has become extremely reactive to having his harness put on. This is the same harness he has been wearing for years, but now he is snapping at us when we try to put it on him. This started yesterday but had continued this morning and tonight. Do you have any suggestions? I think if we can get it on him we will leave it on him. We may have to take him to the vet to be muzzled in order to get it on him. I feel so bad because I know he needs to be walked for exercise, but I don't feel comfortable attaching the leash directly to his collar since he tends to pull. He may not let me do that either. Is there any advice you could give (happy to pay for consultation).Best regards,Chelsea SullivanFollow up email:As an update, I've ordered a slip collar that should arrive tomorrow morning. We were able to walk him with a leash connected to his collar but it didn't feel very secure. Victoria Russell: Let me first say that Jeff is an AMAZING dog trainer. I’ve tried several other trainers and methods and Jeff has been the only one who was able to get through to me AND my dogs! I have 3 unfocused Boston Terriers and from the first session they LOVED Jeff and wanted to well for him. And surprisingly when I would do the exercises - they wanted to behave for me too. It was amazing to see. I would recommend Jeff to literally anyone with a dog. We had 4 super informative sessions at our house (so convenient!) and we will definitely be back for more specialized topics. Thank you Jeff!
Julie Hilton Steele: Our dog, a five year old schnoodle, developed severe anxiety after being away from most people and dogs for two years due to the pandemic and her own illness. Jeff helped us understand her behavior and correct the issues using psychology, keen observation and helping us to recognize the clues showing us she was getting upset in different settings and what to do to redirect or let the pressure off her.. People have commented how she has seemed so much calmer- even after a couple sessions and even more so now that we are done. We have been having trouble getting Ned enough exercise with the hot summer weather, and as a result, Ned has been expending his excess energy by chewing our rugs and digging on our floors.Jeff taught us some great games to play with Ned indoors and gave us lots of strategies for keeping Ned mentally stimulated throughout the day. Annie Osting: My husband and I got our first dog as adults and we knew nothing about properly training and raising a puppy! We wanted to "do it right" and enlisted in Jeff's help. We just completed our puppy sessions and at only 4 months old, she is a shining example of Jeff's method. Everywhere we go, people comment on how sweet she is and how well behaved and trained. She is almost completely potty trained (hasn't had an accident in weeks), knows basic commands (sit, down, stay, leave-it, drop it), walks nicely on a leash, and never cries in her crate.Thanks to Jeff's guidance, she is well socialized and fearless, gentle with all people including small children, and loves all dogs and humans. When I was younger and we had a family dog, we were taught to train using lots of "no" and even a choke collar. By contrast, Jeff uses exclusively positive reinforcement and body language to train, so everything is very humane and my puppy is the happiest, most well adjusted dog as a result.Additionally, having someone in your home is very different from going to a class. Jeff took the time to answer questions we had, and modified some things tailored to our dog and our situation. This allowed our puppy to thrive, since our training was customized.He also provides robust resources that are great to refer back to. Each session is jam packed with great information and 100% worth every penny.We will definitely use Jeff again in a few months for some more advanced training, but are very grateful for the foundation, and feel like confident dog owners.
Stefanie Hanes: We’ve been desperately trying to find a dog trainer to work on some serious issues we were seeing with our rescue. We needed someone kind, but very knowledgeable and effective. Training beyond sit, down, and stay. We needed to reverse some negative reactions to things like barking dogs, doorbells, kids, redirected aggressive type behaviors, and overly energetic play dates. After much research and 2 failed attempts, we found him!!! I rarely refer people because I don’t want that liability. But Jeff is everything we were looking for. Highly recommend!
