Jordan Lake Christmas Tree Farm: what do users think?
Katherine Lelito: Their UPick flowers are a delight! Nature’s fireworks. Keep farming Diana!
Lynda H: Good selection of trees, friendly helpful staff, and well organized. Tree didn't last as long g as in the past.
Philip Foote: Been getting Christmas trees there for 17 years and never disappointed. The owners and staff are hard working and super friendly. It is definitely a holiday tradition that we look forward to every year. Also the gift shop is perfect for that last minute gift or just to add to your own holiday cheer.
Kathy B: Great family atmosphere!
nobadpitbulls1: Wonderful service and beautiful trees!
Janet K.: Very nice people working here which is the only reason they are getting any stars at all. They were almost already completely out of "choose and cut" trees when we went last week. One week into December and out of trees? It felt like thunderdome trecking into the tree fields with other groups of people, competing for the few remaining trees only to find that what was left were misshapen and sparse. We thought we got lucky finding a small tree that had been overlooked probably due to the big bare spot right in the middle. We still paid $50 for this tree thinking we could put the bare side to the wall.Got home and after wondering why our tree smelled so odd and NOT like pine we discovered that it had been PAINTED GREEN!! While putting the lights on my hands got coated with a green tint that only came off with rubbing alcohol. (See photos) Disgraceful! Who knows what kind of chemicals are used in this paint that is now in my home!Plenty of pre-cut trees that were lovely but insanely priced between $77-$140 and up.Obviously we will not be back. Very disappointing as we drove an hour to get to one of the few places in the area that has trees that aren't pre-cut.
Kris Beyman: It is a great place to get a tree. Everyone was so nice and helpful.
Kyle McCrain: Fantastic and easy service from some really nice people! Plus I think this is the best looking tree I've ever bought.
Georgia Lott: Prices were comprable to other places. This was my third stop before making a decision. The previous two stops I made didn't even smell like Pine. I got 2 of the most beautiful Christmas trees I've ever seen and they were still sappy and full of aroma because they were that fresh. Great operation. Glad I got there in time this year before they were all out.
Jarvis Isley: Love this place
Brent Nobles: First time visit for you pick flowers on Saturday morning. Great family activity. Several rows of a variety of flowers, butterflies, finches and hummingbirds. Friendly people, very nice property, made several nice bouquets.
JD Murgolo: Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a place you’ll surely want to return back to!
Cameron Talavera: Amazing place, very fun and amazing customer service.
Yolanda Graves: Trevor was so very helpful and we got VIP treatment!! Will definitely be back next year!!
Michael Staton (Juggernaut33): Very friendly! Very nice setup! Be patient....they are very busy.
Yarelys Soto: Excellent service and fair prices. We got an 8.5 ft for $110.
Craig Travis: Up from Florida and had a wonderful experience. Found the perfect tree. Folks at the farm were extremely friendly and helpful
Dustin Murgolo (xdmurda): Great place and extremely friendly staff! Plenty of options to choose from and a wide selection of wreaths and other local items.
Randy Tyrrell: Even 2020 couldn't keep this place down. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The donuts were amazing, the hot cocoa kept us warm while we looked for our Christmas tree. A great place worth visiting for the holidays. I will definitely be back next year for another tree.
Heather Taylor: Got our tree via online order and curbside this year. We’ve been going here for years and we’re sad to be missing our usual donuts and tree experience, but still wanted to support them if we could do so safely this year in getting our tree. The online ordering was a smooth and easy process. I decided to go alone to reduce any chance one of the kids couldn’t keep their mask on properly. Everything else went smooth with the one employee wearing a neck gaiter when checking my receipt/ID (a mask would be better but it’s better than nothing). It was the lack of mask wearing of the employees while putting the tree on my car that was disappointing. For anyone unfamiliar it usually involves opening doors, passing rope to each other, etc. I wish I had said something at the time, but honestly I was so shocked and flustered. I really believe in supporting local where you can, but I also want to be safe in the middle of a pandemic. I’m not sure I’ll be back next year which is a huge bummer. Our family loved this place and I do see they tried to change some things to accommodate the current pandemic situation, but one of the easiest things to do is wear masks and I’m just not sure I feel comfortable further giving my business to a place that isn’t going to enforce mask wearing with their employees.
Michael Cleary: Beautiful day at the Christmas 🎄 Farm !

Cranberry Tree Farm: what do users think?
Amanda Martinez: I always appreciate the tree selection and service
collin mcconville (lobes1474): We walked in, saw a tree for 150 bucks (for a 6 foot tree), turned right around and left
Michael Garris: The prices are absurd. Asking $190-250 for a christmas tree is insane. I appreciate that they want to make a profit, but any other lot around them will offer trees of the same quality for less than half that price. Unless you have a desire to spend a few hundred bucks on a tree you'll be throwing away in January, I'd find a more sensible tree farm.
Margaret Walsh: Ridiculously high prices. 200 for a tree is a lot
Ross Noble: The trees were nice enough but majorly overpriced. Much more affordable down the road at Creedmor and Norwood!
Joe Martinez: This is now my second year buying my tree from Cranberry, and I must say they are spot on. Great tree selections, very helpful staff and an overall very easy tree buying experience. Highly recommend them.
Sarah King: Got 2 trees from them this year at their Harrison Ave site (near Cary Academy). The team was very nice and helpful, shook the trees twice for us, wrapped them up, put the stand on and tied it up to our car. Quality looking trees and great service!
Teresa Tomás: Very few trees left but we found a gorgeous one, great customer service from Jorge, he put the tree on our car roof and everything. Thank you!
Adam Kaynan: Sparse (thin) trees at $85 -100 (Dec 13). Droopy. Late pass buyers and a low inventory may be incurring a supply and demand surcharge.
Glen Wayer: Fresh trees. Need some help with that tree? Ask for George! Trees are a little pricy.
Chris: Bought my tree here in 2019, was so dry. Friend bought hers here and all the needles fell off in a week.
Jin Szyperski: Thank you Greg, Josh, Josh's brother and friend for educating us on trees, for being so honest with us, and delivering the biggest tree we've ever squeezed into our house and I mean SQUEEEEEeeeeeZed, lol!!!! We haven't even decorated it yet, but already love it so much!!!!
Emma Rader: We have been here twice now (Cary location) and the selection has been great. Super friendly guys working there as well. We will be back next year!
Amy U: I can’t say enough about Cranberry Tree Farm! We’ve been getting trees from them for about 5-6 years now and they always have a great selection of beautiful trees! There’s not an ugly one on the lot, and that’s definitely not the case other places! They also have beautiful wreaths available. This year we ended up with a tree that had an issue and wouldn’t drink water. I contacted them after about 4-5 days of it not taking in water and they replaced it the same day at no charge! Great customer service and beautiful trees...you can’t beat that!
Cruz Nestler: These guys are great! Very friendly, accommodating, and easy to navigate to find the tree that just right for your family. From table toppers to mansion monsters they have every size tree you could want in your house for Christmas. Also, I was able to determine that most trees in their selection are Bug Free!
Claire Stewart: Very disappointed, drove 30 minutes , left without a tree. never coming here again. wish I stayed at home in my pajamas instead.
Mary Sanchez: Thank you Thomas for the extra effort in making my tree PERFECT!! We will be back next year for sure. Merry Christmas!!
Heba Salama: We used the Chapel Hill location- and I am MORE than satisfied with the customer service, the tree etc. we will Be customers for life!
Melvin Armstrong: Overpriced. They price their perfect trees almost double than the rest.
Shelby White: Jake at the Falls of Neuse location was so helpful and really spread the Christmas cheer! Fantastic customer service and shared some great knowledge on upkeep of the tree. We have always bought our trees from our local Food Lion but will now forever be loyal Cranberry customers. Their trees are healthy, freshly cut, and they even trimmed/loaded the tree onto our vehicle for us.
G Evans: Cranberry tree lot is one of the best around, been buying my trees there for the last 18-20 years, these guys really work hard to find you what you want, even if they have to go to one of there other lot to get it, that's what you call customer satisfaction. So Greg keep up the good work.

Neighbor Boy Farm, Country Store & Christmas Trees: what do users think?
Catherine Arriero: What a sweet, sweet place! We came for blueberry picking and got so much more. They have a kids korner with loads of toys to entertain kids. We had s’mores by a campfire but best of all we were greeted by the owners and their kids. Felt like we gained a new neighbor! We will be back for sure! Also, blueberries were delicious!
Matthew Merry: I stopped by to check this place out on my lunch break and ended up picking some delicious blueberries and blackberries. There are lots of blueberry bushes with tons of good berries. The blackberries are a newer addition, but there were still some tasty berries to pick. I also picked up some local honey. This place would be neat for a family to visit with kids since there are a few different things to look out and there's a kid's place with toys. Check it out!
Karen Allen: What a great experience! We were late in getting a tree this year and THRILLED to find Neighbor Boy Farm! Friendly staff, free hot cocoa, reasonable prices and a great selection of trees! Support local!!!! Also loved the biblical posts posted around the lot!
Tom C: Best place for Christmas and Christmas Trees in the Triangle. Memories for the kids.
Aiden Ryan: Great pumpkins gave us a free box of green tomatoes and a free pie pumpkin great place
Joan Baumer: I often visit Neighbor Boy to quickly pickup fresh produce and gifts. My favorite pastime, however, is picking perfect blueberries in their fields…fun, plentiful, and laughter-filled! With a convenient location and excellent service, it is an Apex shopping star!
Paula Weigel: We had a great time picking blueberries at Neighbor Boy Farm. It was a lovely evening, a serene activity, and a perfect venue for team building and bonding. I came home with a heaping pint of delicious berries that my whole family enjoyed. Can't wait to go back!
Brooke Aeikens: Neighbor Boy Farm blew me away - they are trulythe cutest hidden gem of Apex! We went last night to pick blueberries, but they have so many more offerings than that. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for fresh fruits/veggies, Christmas trees, and local NC gifts and decorations.
Sarah Fletcher: It was our first time there and the owner was extremely helpful and so kind. They also gave out free hot chocolate and it was AMAZING! 10/10 recommend going here
Connor Leeson: Such a pleasant experience. Seems like a nice little family run business. Service was great as was the tree!
Wynn Martin: This year was our first time buying a Christmas tree for our apartment, and our first time visiting Neighbor Boy Farm. Everyone there was extremely friendly and helpful, and made the process smooth, simple, and enjoyable. We left with a perfect tree for our apartment strapped securely to the roof of our car, and it looks beautiful in our home. The free hot chocolate was also delicious (and we highly recommend picking up some of the peppermint bark they sell in the shop!)
Anna Kooper: All the trees were nicely displayed, standing up and in water. After selecting your tree and paying, they shake the tree, trim the end, put it in a net and even put it on top of your car for you. If you want to purchase a tree stand while there, they put it on for you as well. Friendly staff and very easy experience! The only downside is there is pretty limited parking.
bob P: Update: The owner was nice enough to replace our sad tree, and even deliver a nice one. I guess we just picked the wrong tree. Excellent customer service. Merry Christmas!Nice place. But we got our tree a couple of days ago and at the rate it's losing needles, it will be bare by Christmas. The trees must have been cut a long time ago. Very disappointed.
Rich Ramos: Only place I'll go! When there fir first time and picked a tree that I was unaware had a bid bear side. At the time the tree was going to get shaked and netted I was offered a new tree of my selection at the same price. Mind you this was AFTER I paid. They said they want to make sure everyone get the best tree they the can provide. Holiday spirit customer service and true caring for every customer. Dont go ANYWHERE ELSE!!!
Jamie Reid: My family went here for the first time after a recommendation from a Facebook group. The family was amazing and we love our tree! We will for sure be back next year! Happy Holidays, and thank you for what you do. :)
Cindy Burdette: Their staff is friendly and they can center my tree stand every time! Close, good prices, friendly staff…I plan to buy trees here for years to come!
Wayne Stocks: We recently moved to NC and needed to find a new place to get our live Christmas tree. We found this place online and were happy that we could get a Frazier Fir at a local place. Today was prior to there season grand opening, and it said online that they were using the day to train there staff. When we pulled up, the staff was helpful and courteous throughout the entire process of picking a tree and paying for it. If I hadn't read online that they were still training, I would have thought all of them were seasoned veterans. The trees were quite a bit more expensive than we are used to, but we had been warned that would be the case. To this point in the process, I would have offered a five-star review. It all came off the rails when we walked to the back where they package up the trees to pick up our tree. They have a good process - fresh cut, shaking out loose branches and binding the trees. So far, so good. However, there was one "gentlemen" working the station that ruined the whole experience - and I'm afraid that he may be one of the owners of the facility. First, when my older son went to tell the gentleman that we didn't need a fresh cut because we were going to cut it ourselves tomorrow, he insisted on cutting off a portion of the bottom of the tree - no big deal. Then as he was about to cut our tree, we watched him chastise one of the young men working there for failing to cut another tree. We were a little surprised, but everyone has bad day. When my older son went to help one of the guys working there put the tree on the shaker (it was kind of large and slipped off) this gentlemen came back to yell at his worker one more time that it shouldn't have slipped if he had done it right. My son explained that it was fine, that it was a big tree and that's why it slipped, he proceeded to yell again about how it shouldn't slip off if it done right (he didn't realize it was my son who had made the comment and thought he was yelling at his employee). My son, who doesn't suffer fools, told the guy once again that it was fine and it was just a big tree. He walked away to avoid any further confrontation and came back over to tell us that the guy running the place was being obnoxious (which may not have been the word he used). While we were continuing to wait, we watched him continuously chastise and belittle his employees for such egregious offenses as grabbing rope to tie a tree to the top of a customers car before asking if said customer had a car or a truck and several other equally important transgressions. Then he proceeded to have an argument in front of everyone with a customer who mentioned they had been there 45 minutes waiting for the tree they had paid for because his they couldn't find their tree (the customers were not being rude but merely reminding him they had been waiting a while). He explained how he was busy "training" his employees and had been working hard for him, and they (the customers) just needed to listen to him and let one of his employees know where the tree was so they could take care of it. I think everyone in line was rather surprised. So, despite great employees and a nice tree, we will be finding somewhere else to get our trees in the future, and I would suggest anyone reading this do the same. There is no excuse for the way this gentleman treated his customers or his employees. Training is about teaching and helping people excel. These kids were working hard and what they were getting in exchange was demeaning. No paycheck is worth that.
Sarah Smith: What a wonderful family and place! 2020 being the year it is, there was not a Christmas tree to be found. So they made real fake trees to order! They stayed open an hour past closing to finish my "5ft" tree (I measured it at home, it's about 7ft). The children were lovely and so polite, they offered me hot cocoa, and were absolutely welcoming. Their little Christmas shop was filled with wonderful crafted gifts, and the whole place just felt like Christmas. I will definitely be going back next year! Thank you for helping me bring home a wonderful bit of Christmas magic!
Julie Ballard: This Xmas tree lot was absolutely adorable!! We found this place after leaving a larger Christmas tree farm in Apex that was very disappointing and it completely turned around our day. The customer service was excellent and they have so many fun activities for the kids to do. Totally worth the trip!!!
J Chima: Lot is very cute and staff are friendly and helpful. However, during our long wait to pay for our tree they ended up giving our paid for tree away to another couple. They were apologetic and helped us find a replacement tree. It was just a bit of a disappointing experience. Hopefully they will pay closer attention to the numbers on receipts and match them to the correct tree in the future. Willing to give them another chance next year.
Melissa Caprio: We buy our tree here every year! The trees are so fresh, and you get free hot chocolate! Check out all of the locally made goods available in the little store when you pay for your tree.

Boyce Farms: what do users think?
ncsbunny: Great selection of yes this year. Great service..
Ben Owen: Great trees and excellent customer service! We go here every year!
Rob Carter: This place is nice, but paying $181 for a Christmas tree is outrageous. It’s a good time to switch to artificial trees. I can’t remember the exact amount I paid last year at the farm, but the costs went up probably 20%
Michael Groman: We’ve bought our trees here the last 5 years. Unfortunately this year was our last. The price of a normal tree is over $180 for a 8-9ft. Our friends are grabbing trees that are bigger, fuller and half the cost at Lowe’s and Home Depot.I wasn’t the only one as 3 other families in my area also gaffed at the price tags on these trees and made jokes about selling their kidneys and selling kids toys to pay for the tree.Pretty sad as I love this place and we love taking our children there. We were even featured on the local news with the kids.Until prices drop to far more reasonable pricing I’ll stay away moving forward.
Michael Garris: Great service, great selection, very reasonable prices! Came here after being disappointed by another tree farm and left with a gorgeous tree for the holidays
Phil Geary: First time getting our tree here instead of the farmer's market. Love everything about it. They shake 'em, load 'em, wrap 'em but we get to cut 'em. :) I also really liked that they gave us space to just bond together over our romantic tree search date. Great prices in my opinion. We'll be back every year until death.
Jack Curtin: Pricey but good selection and service
Rachael Elizabeth: Got our tree here last time, so we made the hour drive out...just to turn around because they weren't open this year... please update this because it's frustrating driving this far for no tree.
Randy Watkins: We buy our tree from Boyce every year and have done so for about 6 years! They always have great trees and better service. Update: apparently closed for 2021!! Please update your website and google.
samanthaD mikolajczak: I didn't want to put a low rating cause I didn't get to buy our Christmas tree here... but we drove out here with our 3 month old to pick out a tree only to see you were closed for the season... just wanted to put a review to ask you to update your hours! Have a merry Christmas.
Thomas M: Get our tree here every year. Love it. Always helpful and just dependent
Scott Jamison: After years of thinking Costco was a good deal I decided to research other options. I found Boyce and gave it a shot. First the trees were a bit more expensive but the quality was vastly better! They did a great job with Covid protecting and the trees were displayed and not wrapped up. We all felt this was the best tree we have had in 20 years. We got our tree the day the trees arrived from the mountains and Boyce clearly has a quality supplier. That day we had several trees of equal beauty.
Laura Neal: We love getting our Christmas trees here. And I think the young men you employ are awesome! They are so kind, respectful, and helpful! Thank you for a great experience each year. Merry Christmas! 🌲
Jamie Jones: Thank you Boyce farms for a beautiful Christmas tree! Marcus was incredibly helpful and made the experience wonderful! We now have our perfect tree! Merry Christmas!
Galen Schultz (Rain): By far the best quality in town, especially for their prices, while also staying cheaper than the places on main roads. Trees smell great and the owners / employees were super nice and helpful. Will definitely be coming here every year from now on. Thanks!
Jeff Loy: A little pricey but definitely great trees and great service. Overall worth it to know you are going to be completely satisfied.
Tim Ryan: Fantastic 🌲 Christmas trees at decent prices. The people were very friendly and helpful. I'll definitely go back again.
Snaptech Solutions: Always great
Joshua Novak (Josh): Been coming here for years for our Christmas trees. Great family business, highly recommended!!
Renee Logan: Beautiful, fresh Christmas trees, wreaths, and more, all at fair prices. Staff are friendly and helpful. They organize the flow of traffic well and have the shake/trim/wrap/load process down to a fine art. We’ll be back for sure.
Bill Ross at LinchpinSEO: We have pitched our tree from a few different places over the years, but Boyce Farms in Raleigh is by far the best. Beautiful trees, great people, tons of additional Christmas items and pop up shops...overall it’s a great Christmas Experience.

Back Achers Christmas Tree Farm: what do users think?
Maria Franko: Owner was very helpful and kind. Love my tree too!
Hailey: We had a great experience getting a tree here. First year in NC and we were hoping to find a tree farm with options unique to the area. After 5 stops at different lots, we finally found this farm only a few miles away. At first glance the Carolina sapphire looked too small but then we measured and realized it was perfect. What a beautiful tree. Everyone working was friendly and helpful. After paying, they put the tree in a shaker and tied it to our car with care. Most of the trees are fresh pre-cuts of the more popular variety. They had plenty of sizes.
Patrick Boleman: Good trees. Helpful staff. We enjoyed walking around and cutting our own tree! The Carolina Sapphires were beautiful
Daniel S: Absolutely love this place, they have trees all the way from 2-3 ft up to 9.5+ foot tree. The customer service is amazing even though they can get busy at times. They package up the tree for you and this year they cut the trunk for us to make an ornament (see photo). Nice work back achers
Jenna: First time here, will absolutely be coming back every year. Staff was kind and helpful, trees and wreaths are of great quality!
Daniel Karl: Cool place, nice people, but didn’t warn us about the trees that are covered in thorns that you can’t even handle and cause you to break out when you touch. It was rough. Took it right back outside when I got home. Obviously not very toddler friendly. Tried reaching out and kindly explained that no one warned us when we bought it and I even offered to bring the tree back to get a refund but all I got was “I’m sorry that happened to you.” Basically I paid $42 for a big thorn bush and had to go out and buy a tree from Home Depot. So much for saving money. Too bad too..it’s a neat place even though there’s not much selection. I expected more from owner.
Keri M Lewis: The men who were working at the farm were very nice but this is probably the worst tree we have ever gotten. For $125 you would think it would be amazing but it’s been so dry since we brought it home. It’s not even Christmas yet and the damn tree is about to fall apart it’s so dry. Definitely will never be back and we buy a real tree every year.
Lewchma Shortsale: The original owner of Backacher Christmas Trees passed away several years ago. He was a forester and his trees were his babies. He loved his farm. He loved and respected all of "his" Buyers of "his" trees. His oldest son and his family lived on the farm for many many years helping him plant, groom and lovingly care for the trees. Together Dad and son nurtured and raised very special Christmas trees that spoke volumes of love to each and everyone who took one home with them. Sadly, both of these men are deceased. The new owner swooped in, took over the farm cares for nothing but himself and the money he can make off customers - the rest is reflected in your (or the more current) comments about the trees being sold at the farm. Most trees are imported from growers from other regions and are dry and brittle by the time customers take them home.
Mike Minervini: So happy our friends found this tree farm for us to go to today! Fun little trip in town for seasonal fun. While I won't permit decorating the tree before turkey day has passed, I'm enjoying this 7' fraser fir on our porch :)
Stephanie M. Turner MA, LCMHC, CTP, CCATP: Today was my first visit to Back Achers Christmas Tree Farm and what a wonderful experience! The folks there was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They’re conveniently located to downtown Raleigh, where I live. They took care of everything - shaking out and wrapping up the tree and securing it to the car. Easy and delightful experience. Brought my kids along, too.
Mary Tay: Great selection and they're always super friendly! I'm glad I can stop at one place for my tree, wreaths, and garland. They even sell tree stands.
Phillip Lawson: Like other reviewers, I also purchased a pre-cut tree only to get it home and realize it's dry. Needles falling everywhere and not fresh at all as the owner stated. I'm pretty disappointed considering the price we paid. Perhaps the selection and quality are better earlier in the season.
Pilar Roa: So helpful and we got the most adorable tree!
Dana McCall: Went down the poorly marked driveway only to find a creepy old house and a few trees lying on the ground.
The Standard Design Co.: Tree last year was unbelievably dry. Had to undecorate it and return it because we had a grocery bag 1/4 full of needles. We live 20 mles away. They gave us another tree that was also dry. May have been good prior to 2018, but wasn't good last year. Make sure you have them shake it thoroughly so you can see how many needles come off. Machine wasn't working, so we couldn't see. There are plenty of places with fresh trees, so not going back or recommending it
Chelsea Boswell: Super helpful in getting our first tree! Went above and beyond for us 💕 will be returning next year!
Sarah Phillips: The past two years we had great experiences, but this year the tree we purchased is already extremely dry. The branches are drooping with those at the bottom touching the ground and leaving large gaps. I’ve kept it watered nonstop but the needles are brittle and falling off. We have family coming from out of town and may have to get another to replace it. Will not be going back next year.
Katrina Hansen: Just had the best experience here! We only bought one of the pre-cut trees but it was beautiful and full and priced fairly for the quality! The employees were friendly and thanked us for supporting small business. One even explained to us where the trees come from and all the measures they take to provide the highest quality trees at a good price.
Michelle Marshall: came here to buy a tree and there was no direction for parking and people were getting stuck in the mud. I was disrespected by employees and by other customers with no management help. My children and I were very excited to try this place out based on the reviews but I will make sure no one I know goes here because of the disrespect of me and my family and the complete disregard to our car and time.
Tyler Rickert: If you want to find the perfect tree then this is the place to go. There is also a great selection of field trees where you can cut your own. It's also been open long enough you can pretty much consider it a historical site. Great example of a local business with attention to detail.
Chris Huddleston: Great selection, all trees are from NC and very happy employees who are very helpful.
