Grace Wilkinson: I sold some jewelry to this company in 2021. It was not until recently that I learned there's a North Carolina law stating that shops who buy gold, silver, or jewelry are required to obtain the name, address, and telephone number of the seller. They are also required to ask to see the seller's driver's license. They are then required to hold the purchase for one week before reselling. On the day I sold my jewelry, I was not asked for ANY of this information and I was paid cash despite requesting a check. There is not a trace of the transaction anywhere on paper which is bad news for people who harbor hope that their stolen jewelry might be recovered. Considering that the legal statutes were not observed, I would never conduct business with this shop again.
Brian Kelly (Dusty Dude): Jeff has been my go to guy for years. He's honest and will treat you right when it comes to buying and selling precious metals. Shop around if you must but be sure to get a price from him before you sell.
Tim Bowman: Waited for the owner to show up. He was 20 minutes late getting in. Then he tells me the gold I brought in wasn't real. I immediately went down the road to JewelRecycle and it tested at .999 pure. I will be doing business there from now on. Change the batteries in your tester or mine won't be the only business you lose. Also, no selection for purchase to speak of. A coin shop that won't buy gold and doesn't have a worthwhile selection for purchase, not a great business model.

I accepted his offer based on feedback on the website. Now I realize that even Kay jewelers sells for approximately 4000. Don’t go to this vendor. He may be great at coin valuation but terrible on jewelry.

Ken Jr. spent 90 minutes chatting with my sons and teaching them some coin collecting basics. This gentlemen one out of his way for what amounted to a four dollar sale.I unequivocally recommend NC Coppers.

Bill Atchley: In my opinion, NC Coppers is the best coin shop in the Raleigh area. Located in the Raleigh Fair Grounds, the store is open on Saturdays and Sundays. The owner, Ken Tireman Sr, is the most knowledgeable coin dealer in area. In addition to being highly knowledgeable about coins, he maintains a large inventory of US coins and paper money. I have regularly bought historical and modern US coins from Ken for several years and found him and his wife Lisa to be very friendly, honest, trust worthy and helpful. Ken buys and sells silver and gold coins and jewelry.

Bradford Faircloth: Not a fan. Price's seem to be what he originally paid + spot which is absolutely outrageous. You can buy what he has for half price ANYWHERE else. I am also not a fan of any one talking about another behind there back. Not only is it bad business it's rude it's say's a lot about the establishment. I will never purchase anything from this place. It was about $4-10 over spot if I remember correctly, depending on how "collectable" the piece was. I'd visit again, but I'm not really a collector, just trying to get an emergency cache.

I worked with Doc on going through the coins and coming up with an estimated value. Throughout the process I felt confidence that the coins were being honestly evaluated. Doc took the time to address questions that I, as a non-coin collector, had as he reviewed the contents. In the end he provided a valuation and a rough approximation of what he would end up selling them for.
