ahmed: Excellent experience I had from the very beginning when walking into the Vison Center. I was met with a very nice greeting from the Associate named Kelly, and everything from there on went amazingly well! Kelly asked me for my insurance just in case I was able to receive any discounts, because usually my health insurance does not offer enough benefits for my eyes, but to my surprise Kelly was able to find the benefits and type prescription for my eye glasses that I needed, and at more than half the price I would have paid at another Ophthalmology center. I was very thankful for the savings and grateful for such an A+ customer service from this Vision Center. I recommend anyone looking to buy or renew their glasses to come here.

Pamela May: I got my second pair of progressive glasses from Toni a couple of months ago. I live in Fuquay & work in Raleigh so went to the Walmart locations there about every other wk for a couple months no one at any time told me to go back to the location I bought them from and didn't think it mattered because I just figured that all eye centers were the same... They are not. Toni was very helpful when selecting and ordering my initial pair but it had gotten so bad with headaches and such that I went back to my eye doctor and my RX had changed due to stigmatism... drastically. I was in tears because just thought there was no way I was going to be able to get them to replace them and couldn't afford another pair of glasses BUT between Toni and the Manager Kelly they are replacing them for me. That is customer service! They were both so understanding of the situation while I was freaking out and in tears but they gave me a happy ending when I really needed one after the last couple of months!!!
Art: Understand first of all that the Retail side where you can purchase eyeglasses is a completely separate operation from the Office for the eye exam. S-E-P-A-R-A-T-E entities. When I made the appt the receptionist asked about insurance, displayed my card, she said I would have to submit their bill to my insurance they do not accept what I have. Made the appt. On appt day the receptionist asked (remembered) if the reimbursement would work with my insurance. I said no, but I still wanted the exam and would pay cash. Waited maybe all of 10 mins and I was on to the exam. Receptionist got me through a few machines and noted the next one was an additional charge and explained it, I declined as I had no symptoms the machine would diagnose. I also figured if the Dr. noted any problems he would recommend the additional as needed. Dr. was courteous and polite and very professional.Never did I feel hurried or rushed. Dr. answered in-depth the few questions I had. He also wrote me two prescriptions which had never happened before. He explained I should use the progressive set for daily use and if the finer work I do needed more lense focus area (my terminology not his)then I could get the other lenses which would only be used for the fine work. I've been wearing glasses for many years and no Dr. has ever offered/suggested this option. I paid the bill and have to say this was The Best experience I've had with Ophthalmology.On the other hand when I proceeded to the Walmart retail side to get glasses I was disappointed to say the least. The clerk told me the lenses (only) would start at $249. The there are add-ons such as frames (an add-on??,) cases, clips, coatings etc. Their minimum (unacceptably cheap product) starts at $49.00 .....already we're over $300.00. For the frames I would have selected with lense coatings we would be well into $400.00+. The clerk advised I could get a discount if I joined AARP. I declined. In the end I purchased everything I wanted - lenses, frames, various coatings, etc., online and the total was $182.00.If your insurance does not cover this Dr.'s office then how can you leave a poor review unless you paid cash and got the experience? This is unfair to the hardworking people staffing these positions. Overall this is a great place to get your prescription; not have it filled.In the end Walmart is not competitive on their eyewear offerings, not even close. The exam portion was highly satisfactory and I would recommend them anytime. In fact same day I did the exam I talked to a neighbor and after hearing their experience at the same Walmart I recommended the online purchase and she agreed. Do a little checking around and keep more money in your pocket.
Kat M: I would never get an eye exam here. I prefer my own eye doctor for that. I did think I would save a few dollars getting my eyeglasses from Walmart, but I don't think that was the case AT ALL. Even with vision insurance that has a $200 frame allowance, I paid $111 for single vision, polycarbonate, anti-glare lenses. The frames I picked out were $119 so fully covered. I got NO tinting either. I paid $178 three years ago for two pairs of eyeglasses from Costco, and one of them was tinted sunglasses. I understand prices go up but man - I think I got ripped off. THEN when I picked up my glasses, the person handed them to me, asked me if they "fit", put them in a cheap, clear plastic container, (similar to a food container at the dollar store), and told me to call them if there were a problem. What happened to the actual fitting? What happened to a DECENT eyeglasses case? Just skip this place. MyEyeDr might even do better than this place, or better yet, stick to your own eye doctor or even Costco. The only reason I did NOT use Costco was because I have different insurance than I did in 2016 and they didn't take the new one.

Lady said that the computers are different and all my info is lost. She started redoing everything and it was taking way too long so she said she would call me later once it was all inputted. I told her that I had to go to other places and left to finish my route. When I called at the end of the day it still wasn't done! She said since I had to go other places, she didn't do it, even thought she had said she would.
Michelle Martin: I took my daughter to this Walmart to have her eyes examined and to purchase glasses. The doctor was terrific! But the eye glass store was not so good. Since my daughter's prescription had changed drastically, I wanted them to put lenses in her glasses from last year which we bought a another Walmart. They told me they don't do that because they are an outside vendor, a national chain and they do not guarantee Walmart's products. The glasses she picked out were going to cost $229. I left and took her to the walmart in Apex and the same priced frames cost $139 and included more stuff! I'll always check to see if the vision center is part of Walmart from now on!!!

Nany Mou: I called and scheduled an appointment for my children. My children have been going to this office for over a decade. The office has all their information as well as their insurances. I was given the slots with no problem. The day before the appointments, I called to confirm to be surprised that this practice does not accept my children's insurance anymore, and I will have to pay private if I want to keep the appointments. I asked them since when they opted out, the receptionist stated it was over a month ago. So, I asked to why I was given the appointments and not been informed back then. She just mumbled an apology. I had to request time off from work for those appointments. Now, my children are due for their examination and this office just wasted my time. I would have found a new practice if was informed properly and in time. Thanks God we did not have an emergency procedure for those appointments. I cannot imagine having to find a new doctor the day prior to the emergency. It is a practice's right to opt out of any insurance. However, it is also the patient's right to be informed and notified. That is called professionalism and common courtesy to your patients and especially if they have been loyal to you all those years. The support staff changed drastically from before and you could see the huge difference between them. The first crew was great and customer service oriented. Our visits were always very pleasant. During and after COVID, customer service went from minimum to none. This practice will go out of business if they don't change their hiring criteria. They should recruit more qualified candidates who care more about their patients.
Ahmed Elhassouni: I had the worst experience at this location. My family and I have been coming here for twelve years and have always had amazing customer service from the previous team. Ever since they changed the team, the customer service has been sub par to say the least. The provider and nurses are great with patients. I cannot say the same for the staff up at the front desk. My last visit, I left fuming. There has always been a problem with the reminders for our appointments. My appointment’s time and my children’s usually get mixed up, sending the wrong name for the wrong time. This is needed context. I walked into the clinic and told the front desk I had an appointment. She checked me in. After a short wait, a nurse led me back and started my examination. A few minutes later and to my utter shock, the same front desk receptionist who checked me in then barged in, my head was in the machine, and told me I had to leave the examination room because I did not show up to my appointment on time. This shocked me as well as the nurse. She stopped her examination as the receptionist continued to tell me I had to leave mid examination because I was late. I tried to explain that it must have been a misunderstanding but it fell on deaf ears. She led me out and told me to sit down in the waiting room with no further explanation. I have never experienced such embarrassment and disrespect. To let a patient into an examination room and then kick them out for an administrative mistake is unbelievable. I would have been understanding if I was told I was late and not let in at all, but to let me in and then tell me to leave mid examination is not professional at all. The doctor did speak to me and try to apologize. Somebody lacking basic customer service and professionalism should never be part of the team. The new receptionist and people in charge of appointments are horribly unprofessional and rude, and there has been a distinct difference between the doctor’s old staff and the new ones. I will be looking into taking further action as this is not the first time I have been spoken/ interacted with rudely. Over the years, I referred many of my friends and clients to this office; however, now I will share my horrible experience with them. My family is taking our business to another practice where staff hired are more competent and professional. I know that everybody is struggling to find qualified employees nowadays but at least hire people with decent people skills.
ER: My first experience with MyEyeDr. in Crescent Commons is 5 Stars!I brought them an old pair of men's Costa sunglasses with a broken lens. In under 15 minutes, Carrie completed the repair and gave me helpful information about the benefits and care of the new polycarbonate lenses. She provided capable, conscientious, and positive customer service.

Joy Sell: We've not had good service here for over 2 years but I kept giving them a fair chance. Last year, the Dr changed my contact prescription that hadn't changed in 20 years and didn't tell me. So when I ordered my contacts and didn't think it was correct, they would not allow me to schedule a follow up visit with the Dr without having a whole new eye exam. 6 months ago, my son's contacts came in and they never called us, we had to follow up with them after waiting 2 weeks. Then today, all three of our appointments were canceled even after I received text confirmation the day prior. They said they called and emailed me the day before our appts but I received nothing. Not only did they cancel the one appointment that conflicted with the Dr not being in, but they canceled the two other appointments that were NOT in conflict. That didn't make sense at all, it was the last straw.

I originally went to Walmart, where they tried their best and were so sweet as well, but didn’t have the right sizes, so the lady there recommended going down a few shops to see if they can help. Right as we went in, they checked out my glasses to see if they can do anything and they replaced the temples of my glasses for free! Appreciate the service (:

I will never, ever use this company for anything in the furure. I will tell anyone who who is thinking about scheduling a first time appointment to really think about it and not waste your time waiting for an appointment that migh get cancelled after waiting a month.

My wife took my glasses here to see if they could help us fix them because we couldn’t do it ourselves. We offered to pay but they refused, amber helped and was super nice. Christian: I called before my appointment to confirm this was in network, the person I spoke to said yes. Several months later I receive a bill in the mail. I called my insurance and they said no, they were out of network, despite confirming with this location that it was in network. After the appointment they also tried very hard to push glasses on me, despite my vision being 20/20, which was ridiculous. This establishment is very clearly trying to poach money out of its customers on many levels.
Erin Nasto: Save your money, your time, and your sanity and choose another provider.First time visiting this MyEyeDr., as I normally am a patron at another. I went in for a glasses exam and was due to purchase a pair this year. I was finally able to get around to shop for some glasses and put an order in at a 3rd party. When my glasses arrived, I tried them on for the first time. I literally almost fell down the stairs and they made me sick to my stomach. Dr. Shemna apparently put me in a crazy new prescription where the power changes depending on the direction that I'm looking. These were so far off of my old ones it wasn't even funny. Here's the kicker….I called this establishment to come back in to get looked at again and get my prescription right. I was told that they were unable to do this and that I would get charged again because I wasn't able to use my vision insurance again until next year. This place is a rip-off. They'll put you in a prescription and then not back it up. It's the only time I've ever had to deal with this at an optometrist. Others have always had me back in so that I could get the prescription right. Find a different one and hopefully keep a little bit of your sanity and your money so that you can pay the exorbitant costs of those new eye glasses.

When picking out glasses and contacts, I always receive great help. Felecia especially helped me find the right deal and the right pair of glasses for me, and was very kind while doing so! Cat Bridges: I've been in glasses about 8-10 years and been to several places for exams and eyewear. Felecia at 2346 Walnut, Cary, and the entire staff including Dr Lau have been the absolute best! The entire experience far exceeded the previous big chain experience. After that one I was leery about trying myeyedoctor, but a relative recommended them after using the Knightdale office. The doctor listened to my concerns and provided treatment options for severe dry eye. Felecia listened to my style ideas and helped choose 2 pair I LOVE including sunglasses. I had avoided buying them due to high cost at other places, but the cost of everything was so reasonable! For the first time I put glasses on and they fit perfectly. I strongly recommend this location and I will absolutely return when new glasses are needed. Perfect fit!!

Elisa McLean: This company has really deteriorated and continues to go down I have been using Eye doctor for years when I first started that service was good but it's no longer. the last pair of glasses I got was 3 years ago and I was never able to wear it because it was not lined up properly for my eyes I have been back there multiple times trying to get my glasses right and was never able to get it fixed, finally I gave up. I have not been back since then until recently cause I needed to get new glasses. The service That I received from the doctor was fine but the service I received a front when choosing glasses was terrible I got a promise date for glasses on the 30th of June today is the 6th of July and I still do not have my glasses and no follow up. I called to find out what's going on and they told me it's only a promised date and that date can not be guaranteed, meanwhile my insurance was already billed. I will not be back.

When I picked it up, the staff keep the brand glasses box for himself and gave me a 'MyEyeDr' glasses box. I was careful enough for asking about it, and I received my original brand glasses box. If I hadn't asked for it, there might have been a brand glasses box sold on eBay.2. I had an eye exam for contacts two months ago. Until today nobody had ever called me and tell me my order status. Today I gave them a call and the staff told me my contacts 'just' arrived today, and said she will call me back when those are ready, but she never did. Later I visited them in person. Another staff told me I need an extra appointment to receive my contacts, and helped me to make another appointment. I understand all the procedure, but I cannot accept the fact that no one nor the system had informed me about this status. If I hadn't visited them myself, I would have been kept in waiting forever. Anyway, I'm still waiting for my contacts...

Nupur Jain: Ineffective communication. Associate do not tell what you are being charged for upfront and inflate prices by the time you check out. Entire team of employees are not dedicated to ensure that the eye exam experience is positive for customers and overall seem to have corrupt practices. The manager at this store treated me rudely and the front desk employees and manager seemed disinterested in ensuring that patients are heard and understood. Definitely, a very bad experience and do not recommend.
monique wheeler: I made my appointment, got a email saying my appointment with Dr. XXX is all set and We’ll see you on Friday, the date, and time. I received a voice message the day before my appointment saying “this is XXX from My Eye Doctor reminding you about your appointment on Friday, the date, and time please call us you have any questions or concerns and we will see you tomorrow” imagine my irritation when I show up for my appointment and was told that I did not confirm my appointment when they call me and left the voice message so they schedule another person in my time slot. No where did the email that was sent nor the voice message they left said I needed to confirm my appointment, the email said I was all set, and the voice message said only to call if I had questions or concern. When I show both communications that I got to the receptionist she said sorry but that was their policy and she would be happy to rebook my appointment. Taking my business elsewhere!
Amitabh Purohit: I have used them for few years in the past, but for some reason the service and quality has gone down in last year or so.I made 2 pair of glasses and both of them started to have scratches in 2- 3 months. I have been careful with them and in fact I have glasses from 2019-2020 which is still looks brand new.I was told that they couldn’t do anything to the glasses as you need a special protection plan for them to repair it without charging me.I would rather go to Costco and get my glasses made this year as they stand by their quality and product.I am afraid they lost a customer today.

Lauren Boyd: My two children were patients of Dr. Roberts from the time they were two years old and we never had any issues. Then, in May 2019, they both saw Dr. Sara Grace for the first time after Dr. Roberts retired. Dr. Grace wrote prescriptions for their glasses, which I took to an optical shop and had made. Immediately thereafter, my daughter started having headaches and complained that her vision was blurry. I took her elsewhere for a second opinion (an optometrist, not an ophthalmologist), and it turns out the prescription written by Dr. Grace for her left eye was incredibly overcorrected, to the point that it would’ve caused damage if we hadn’t caught it. So I had my son retested with this same optometrist, and sure enough, his left eye prescription was overcorrected too. After having their glasses remade yet again with the correct prescriptions, I called NCEENT in Cary and talked with the Office Manager. She said they’d had no other problems with Dr. Grace and I pointed out their numerous less-than-favorable reviews online. I am seeking to be reimbursed for the bill I had to pay for my daughter’s eye exam in Mary 2019, as well as the cost of the second opinion I solicited for each child. The NCEENT Office Manager in Cary said she would email the Practice Manager on my behalf because she is the only one who can issue reimbursements. She also gave me her name, Melissa Myers, and her phone number. After not hearing from Melissa in the promised one week, I began calling her. She never answered, and I left her message after message. I called the practice to ask for her email address, in case she prefers to communicate that way, but they “didn’t have one they could give me”. I have called Mellisa’s direct number and left messages for her for almost two months, and I know she has been in the office during that timeframe because the receptionist said she had been there. So now Melissa knows I am seeking reimbursement for TWO dangerous misdiagnoses for children, and her professional response to make the situation right is to completely ignore every call and message from me. At this point, due to a lack of response, I am not counting on NCEENT to make the situation right, so I am leaving a review to warn other parents and to help protect the vision of their children. I wouldn’t want this to happen to any other children. Protect your children’s eyes and your wallet and stay away from NCEENT.

Robert Weintraub: Since NCEENT has been purchased by Duke Health, the fees for eye exams have gone up exponentially. My last annual exam cost $644, including a $255 "office outpatient visit" which was on top of the doctor and all the tests. They will not tell you the final cost in advance.
Tina M.: Took my 6 year old here today for his annual eye exam. He was rather scared of the eye drops process. The nurse shondra that helped us and did the intake/sight testing was AH-MAZING with my little boy. She got him to stop crying and got the drops in. She was super patient and gentle. Couldn't ask for better care. We didn't have to wait long like last year and everyone was pleasant. Dr. Dolan was a pleasure and answered my questions. Great visit today.
Rob Wine: This was my first visit to the NCEENT Cary, NC office and my first visit with Dr. Novey. This facility is new and quite nice. Check in at the receptionist desk was very efficient and most forms can be filled out online ahead of time. I had to wait maybe 5 min beyond my scheduled appointment time, at most. The eye exam itself was comprehensive and I found Dr. Novey's staff to be friendly and professional. Dr. Novey was on time, attentive, and answered any questions I had. The Optical Center had a large selection of frames and a knowledgeable staff that listened to what I wanted, provided several choices of frames and lenses, and got me set up with a new pair of prescription sunglasses. In all, I was very impressed with this practice and look forward to being a patient there for many years to come. I would certainly recommend the NCEENT-Cary facility to friends and family.

Also, it wasn't a nightmare bringing my toddler, she loved playing in the waiting room and everyone was understanding with her.

This office previously had a 2 star on google with about 30 reviews and many similar comments (although it appears that they've deleted their old establishment and created a new one in an attempt to start fresh).Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
