Wynton's World Cooking School: what do users think?
Rachel Torre: Love coming to these classes! I’ve done knife skills and tapas and sangria class. Both were excellent and so much fun!! Definitely recommend!!
Jessica Israel-Filipkowski: Had such an amazing date night experience! My husband and I did the Spain class. Wynton is incredibly knowledgeable and truly does an amazing job not only teaching you how to cook the dish but also educating you on the background of the dish you’re preparing. Truly exceptional experience!
Blaine: Chef Wynton hosted our corporate team building class and it was a 10/10 experience—Probably the best company outing I’ve been on.Looking forward to come back for a date night in the future!
Amy Johnston: Our Girl Scout Troop had a cooking class and they LOVED it! Teamwork was encouraged, everyone learned a new skill and the food was delish. Chef Wynton was wonderful with the kids~
Barbara Knott: So much fun! I'm learning the basics of cooking. Chef Wynton makes learning easy. And we get to eat!! Do not hesitate to try to secure a spot in a class.
Carly Dressen: Purchased the donut class as a Christmas present for my mom and we really enjoyed it! Very hands on and we got to go home with new skills and lots of delicious donuts to share.
cocoloco marie: There are a lot of things that you learn from Wynton’s classes. He has patience of a Saint, when being shown the correct ways of showing procedures he’s never condescending. You come away from these classes with feeling you can do anything in the kitchen. From learning knife skills, learning the importance of prep, learning making fresh pasta & cake decorating and cooking restaurant quality dishes. Take the experience, you will never regret your decision.
Jo Williams: Such a fun and awesome place to learn new cooking techniques and recipes with the classes and date night options.
MBC63: A really enjoyable evening....great food, great company and great "tunes"......just like cooking with friends in your own kitchen on a Friday night but with an expert on hand to give you confidence to try new recipes.....Chef Wynton has created a cool vibe.
Rajee Kumar: Chef Wynton was knowledgeable, entertaining and most of all we learnt to cook some amazing Moroccan food. Will be back for more classes absolutely count on it!! Great experience.
carole holt: A great night with good food and company. We loved the paella and the tapas were so good! would love to do it again. Wynton was knowledgeable but a good sense of humor and a great storyteller. Makes us want to go on one of his trips!
S Orosco: Wow. So where do I begin? If you’re like me, and you’re hesitating about whether or not you want to pay to cook ? Hurry up and book. This was such a phenomenal experience, it exceeded my expectation by leagues. Wynton is so knowledgeable and genuine, this man loves food and you’re going to be glad to have experienced him when you’re done. Book! I’m already looking for the next event !
Alberto: Had a great time at the Italian Hot Pocket date night. Wynton is awesome and we had a lot of fun learning how to cook.
Landon Simmons: My wife and I recently participated in the Thai cuisine cooking class and had an absolute blast. Chef Wynton Mann provides a fun experience for all involved. It was a joy to witness the passion he has for sharing his love of the kitchen with others.Highly recommend booking a class with Chef Wynton whether it’s a date night or a family outing
K F: My husband and I took an evening Thai cooking class in January. It was a really nice experience. Chef Wynton assigned the small class different parts of the meal. He demonstrated various parts of the cooking and gave some great tips to help us when we are home. Chef Wynton was personable, knowledgeable and easy going. The food turned out so tasty! The recipe was quite easy and can be replicated at home. The only problem with Wyntons cooking school is that he is so popular, the classes are sold out months in advance! He is expanding his space soon so that should allow better access to his wonderful classes!
Charlie Hughes: Had the best time here this evening with my wife and friends. The chef is amazing and our food was bussin bussin! Will definitely be back.
Katrina Henderson: My husband and I had the best time at the Taking over Tokyo cooking class. Chef Wynton is personable and funny and makes everything a great time. We could not have been happier with the class and will absolutely be back soon for another one.
Naomi Moraa: Really enjoyed this class - Tuscany for Two. Chef Wynton is very organised, he designed each course thoughtfully and delivered the class well, and with so much laughter in the middle of it all. Also met other wonderful couples - it was well worth our money (and Saturday evening).
Alan LaMore: We went to the 'Date Night for Couples' class and had so much fun!Chef Wynton is great! So much knowledge, great sense of humor and far too humble. (get him on the topic of NYC and you won't regret it 😉).This is a really fun and different idea for a date. So glad we went!
Chelsea Holland: My partner snd I attended the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” themed cooking class with Chef Wynton himself! We had an amazing time. The class was really engaging and hands-on, and chef Wynton was a great instructor. He gave us so many good tidbits and really shared his passion for great food. Everything we made was delicious. We will definitely return snd be gifting this experience to other friends as well!
Jenny Craig: This class was a blast, I will definitely do it again.

Flour Power Kids Cooking Studios Cary Parkside: what do users think?
Shaleshia Young: Tammy, Jamie, & Ciara made our experience at the Cary Flour Power so awesome! Thanks so much ladies! You rock!
Renee Rioux: We held my son’s 5th birthday party here and it was a blast! The instructor did a great job keeping everyone engaged and the kids enjoyed the food ( a few of the kids also tried new foods, which was a win!) As a parent, this was so easy and stress-free — no set-up or clean-up! I appreciated their care with allergies and other diet restrictions. The Flour Power team was awesome and I would definitely have a party with them again!
Doug: This place is a really great place for a child's birthday party. My daughter could not stop talking about how much fun she had. As the parent, I appreciated that the owner is actually at the studio overseeing the events and does a great job interacting with both the parents and the kids. It really makes a difference having that personal touch. We'll have to try some of the other events, though the owner told me the summer camps are already sold out. :(Highly recommended if you can get in.
Ryan Parker: Enjoyed a kids birthday party (6 year old). 4 staff working helped it flow well
Yakunicheva Irina: A HUGE disappointment! We just had a birthday party today for our daughter with a group of 10 kids of 7-9 yo. That was the most boring event for kids I’ve ever seen. There are 3 staff members but only 1 actually interacts with kids. The video on their website and pictures are very misleading. Kids don’t wear any hats or aprons, they barely do anything themselves, most of the time they just sit and wait until their turn comes to add an ingredient or mix it. For a group of 10 kids they had 1 mixing bowl for pizza dough! I would expect kids at this age being able to mix 3 simple ingredients themselves individually or at least in a group of 2 or 3. The cupcakes they provided were super sweet and cheap - most of them were left as kids said they didn’t want them. Kids and parents were bored and didn’t enjoy the party at all.Re: I have pictures with just one bowl going around the table, I don’t want to post them here due to privacy concerns. I can send them to you if you’d like. Kids were offered disposable hats just like - you can guys wear it, but you don’t have to - in the manner not engaging for kids. That was one of the main issue - it was not ENGAGING at all! Parents didn’t plan to participate - we were watching from the side and saw how bored kids were. I’m concerned that kids didn’t get the experience we were planning for and paid for.
J Schmitt: Had a birthday party here; the space was inviting, everything was super well-organized, and the staff did a great job involving all the kids and maintaining order (and the food was yummy!) Great experience!
Michelle Arscott: We were there for a birthday party this past weekend, Ms.Jamie, Ashley and Grace made the party so much fun! The kid’s ages ranged from around 3-9 and Ashley was great at keeping them all engaged and focused. My kids loved the pizza and asked for more the next day. I see a lot of homemade pizza in our future.
Miranda D: Had a blast doing an adult cooking class for date night. The hosts were friendly and conversational, and the food was delicious. I was glad we got to take the recipes home! Definitely will be doing more classes through Flour Power
Joan Kohler: We had a 5yearold's birthday party. The staff were awesome. They kept control all of 13 5year olds girls, helped them make pancakes and decorate them. They also made long skiny pretzels dipped in white chocolate w/sprinkles. Then they brought out cupcakes and sang happy birthday. There was o down time ids a a great time. We ddnt have to bring anything or clean up. Great job.Thank you
Bugs Subu: My daughter had the absolute best 11th birthday celebration with her buddies at Flour Power, Cary!! They took care of everything from A to Z! We literally just showed up! We picked the teen tween birthday package so the kids had a good two hours to make pizzas and ice cream sundaes from scratch! The venue also provided cupcakes for all the kids. Ms Jamie and Ms Swikrithi took great care of all the proceedings l and delighted the kids. Best of all we, parents of the birthday kid, didn't have to stick around. We went over to a restaurant nearby for sushi while the kids stayed busy! Highly recommend this place for a fabulous birthday party!
earl liles: Excellent as always
unashia britt: This is a pretty dope place. My daughter attended a class here in December. She really enjoyed it! My fiancé and I had the pleasure last night of attending the adult cooking class featuring chocolate for Vday. It was so nice and comfortable. The staff did a wonderful job hosting and we even had extra time to do trivia’s and get to know each other. I definitely recommend this place. Kid and adult friendly.
Ross Christensen: My son attended a week long Fall track out camp at Flour Power last week and had the BEST time. I don’t know how we’ll be able to top it on his future track outs. The owner was so kind to create a spot for him (even though the camp was already full) after his camp at the North Hills Flour Power was cancelled at the last minute due to low enrollment. We were so thankful. They also took good COVID precautions. He came home with crafts, recipes & lots to say about everything he learned each day. Highly recommend!
David Jang: Great staff and facility, overall a memorable 5th birthday for our son!
Whitney Anderson: My daughter (9) started taking classes here in June and she absolutely loves them. She has taken 3 classes so far and can’t say enough good things about them. The owner (Tammy) and the rest of the team are amazing. They are following covid protocols and have been very professional every time I drop my daughter off. I highly recommend this studio if your child is interested in cooking!
Monica Ma Reynon: Tammy and her staff are great. My daughter always has a good time at flour power!
Steven Lombardi: Our daughter has attended camp here and loved it so much that she asked to have her birthday party here. We are very happy with their covid precautions and the owner and instructors are wonderful. The birthday party was the easiest party we have ever hosted and we highly recommend it.
Yang Kai: My son likes this camp very much. They are very polite and did the refund for camp cancellation (due to COVID-19) immediately without hesitation.
Lex Kemper: Was there for a kid's birthday party. The kids had a lot of fun, got to help around the kitchen a bit. Staff was lovely!
Rob Woods: Drop off parties where the kids take home chef hat and cooking aprons? I loved it, the kids loved it, everyone wins. Perfect birthdays.
Sar A: We had a wonderful time! The staff was patient kind and FUN! We are grateful for such a creative experience and can't wait till next time!

It was so special and beyond that… DELICIOUS! I can’t get enough of these crepe cakes. Not too sweet. Just perfect.

Erica Calderon: I had the chance to attend an event where Joan’s treats were beautifully arranged, and they were all delicious! Loved that there were both sweet and savory options to choose from. The small portions were perfect.
Brooke Aeikens: Joan is amazing at what she does! The Crepe's are delicious, and Joan has a true gift in leading and teaching cooking classes. Her infectious personality will leave you smiling as well as your stomach happy with the best tasting crepes you will find!

Aradhana Aggarwal: Joan has a magic in her hands and is so easy to work with. Her attention to details is unmatchable. Her cakes are out of the world and I can't wait to order more. I highly recommend The Crepe Cakerie for wedding cakes or for any other special occasion.
Tica María: Joan’s Crepes and treats are ICONIC AND delish…she saved our ladies event with individual custom small bites and made everything look elegant. She’s passionate about her craft and puts heart and soul into each confection. Give her my highest recommendation and cannot wait to order from her again❤️❤️❤️
Caroline Zilli: Joan is the queen of crepes and dessert bites! She has such an attention to detail and thinks of everything. We hired her to do a crepe bar at our kids’ birthday party, and kids and adult alike hag a fabulous time creating their own delicious crepes. Joan brought everything we needed and more, and even sent me home with left over crepe batter to enjoy the next day!
Holly Armstrong: Joan and the Crepe Cakerie are amazing to work with! Love that Joan is local and full of wonderful knowledge with all things crepes. Her crepes are absolutely delicious! I highly recommend working with Joan and The Crepe Cakerie if you are looking for something special for any occasion! Looking forward to learning more from Joan soon at one of her crepe making classes!
Krystal Ayling: I could not love The Crepe Cakerie more than I already do! At this point, I have tried MANY of their menu items as well as taken several virtual workshops alongside my daughter. Everything has been so delicious and fun, I just love sharing my experience with as many people as I can. If I had to pick, i'd say my personal favorite has been her homemade chocolate ganache filling, so yummy! Can't wait to get my hands on more!
Emily Pounds: My husband and I recently got married in February 2021, and had the absolute pleasure of working with Joan from The Crepe Cakerie for our wedding baking needs! When we originally consulted with Joan (who was so incredibly flexible during the pandemic), we knew we wanted something different from the classic wedding cake. She walked us through her process of how she makes and thoughtfully curates the design of her crepe cakes for each wedding, and we instantly fell in love with her style! She arranged several seasonal flavors for us to try at a (COVID-friendly) outdoor tasting, and we opted on a two-tier crepe cake with lavender lemon filling in one layer, and raspberry filling in the second. Her crepe cakes are so light and delicate and the fillings are SO FRESH (she even incorporates herbal and floral elements from her garden)! We also ordered individually wrapped dessert minis for our guests to enjoy that included salted caramel pecan brownies, lemon bars, and her unbeatable English toffee! We were so impressed the day of the wedding with our gorgeous dessert table that Joan beautifully arranged, and our guests raved about how delicious all of the treats were. We were so thrilled with our unique wedding cake, and would recommend Joan’s artistry to any bride and groom to be!
Mollie Rogers: I found the Crepe Cakerie a few weeks ago while I was searching for a bakery to create a surprise for a friend's birthday. The owner, Joan, was a delight to work with. She created a beautiful gift package full of chocolate chip cookies, toffee, nuts, and some other treats. My friend loved it, especially the toffee. I highly recommend The Crepe Cakerie if you're looking for a unique gift or for something delicious for yourself!
Rayford Larkin: Was able to place an order on very short notice for my daughter’s birthdayMy daughter loved the cake and the customer service was excellent as wellThanks for making my daughter’s birthday complete
Christianna Harvey: This was the best crepe cake I’ve ever had. Joan was so professional and communicative. I recommend anyone who hasn’t tried it to go for it! I’ll be ordering another one for my anniversary!
Suzanne Zaccardo: I took the macaron class and it took away the mysteries behind making this complex cookie. I also loved taking the meal classes My dinner was made within an hour with friends and lots of laughs. Try a class today!
Jeffrey Kramer: Joan, the Crepe Queen, presents creative, well thought out, useful cooking classes that have been so much fun to attend. All are engaging and participatory. My wife and I enjoy them together, trying to work as a team and stay out of each other's way as we are learning by doing, making savory crepes for supper, or a rich vegetable tian, or a number of other exciting dishes and desserts. They have all been well worth our time. I highly recommend these classes to anyone who enjoys cooking and eating classic dishes with an exert cook's wonderful tips and techniques, or new and interesting dishes that all seem to be healthful and delicious. Most of those in attendance are like us, eating what they cook in the class, then providing feedback. No surprise, the feedback is very positive. We are very happy to be a part of this Zoom class experience and intend to continue to learn from Joan and. her guests and fellow class attendees.
Diane Uke: I have now taken several classes and find it is what I look most forward to during the week. Joan does a fabulous job of walking through the recipes step-by-step and includes a lot of additional tips. I highly recommend her classes and think you will find them enjoyable and well worth your time.
Sarah Hay: Loved cooking with Joan! She helped me plan a surprise birthday party (private class) that all of our friends enjoyed. We learned lots of tips and tricks on how to make the perfect crepe and they were delicious!

Durham Spirits Co.: what do users think?
Harlan Stafford: Durham Spirits offers the most memorable of cooking class experiences. My wife and I had the greatest pleasure of participating in a small group that Katie led in the creation of an authentic and delicious 5-course meal.Learning and experiencing cooking with Katie is easy and fun. Before you arrive, all the recipes for the evening are set up with ingredients gathered at stations along the counters. You then prep, mix and cook under her friendly, knowledgeable and professional guidance. Katie joins for dinner and makes you literally and figuratively feel at home. All recipes are provided via email for you to practice your newly-acquired skills at home. (I like the new prases I learned and can now drop casually at dinner parties: mirepoix and lardon.)I hope to return to Durham Spirits soon. Maybe we'll meet then and enjoy some fun instruction and a delicious meal!
Andrew Cunningham: Chef Katie's class was a blast to attend and we will be going back. One of my family members is gluten free and most classes I looked at were hard to get in touch or refused to make any accomodations. Chef Katie was very responsive and in my opinion, went above and beyond to accommodate allergies and go the extra mile. I know allergies can be annoying as a chef, but she really made our night spectacular and communicated with us every step of the way. It would be our pleasure to attend another of her classes and wish her the best as classes are now open again post-covid. Will be recommending to friends and family because the food was so good.
Bob Pleasants: Used them for knife sharpening and was a little worried about just emailing and afraid I might not get a quick response, but Katie was super responsive and also did the job within 24 hours. Easy drop off and pick up, and I'm psyched about my razor-sharp knives. Highly recommend!
Amy Henning: Katie led our group through a virtual cooking class, and it was one of our highest rated events this year! We enjoyed learning to cook (and eat!) shrimp and grits from such an amazing chef.
Jim Kenny: Went for a team building dinner. It was a lot of fun and the food we made was fantastic. Having been here twice now, I would recommend this as a group event without reservation. Go talk work people, cook together and eat together. An awesome way to get to know people.
Carmella A: Katie is a fantastic instructor and her classes are fun!
Michael Kirschner: Great teacher, amazing food.
Holly Alfino: This was such a fun experience! Not only were the cocktails amazing and they let you make your own, but appetizers were provided. I would definitely come back. Such a fun date night!
Keri Alcock: Great food every time, you get to do just the fun part of cooking! Good space too, very roomy.
Jen Smith: This is a great cooking class even for beginners. Katie is true to her goal of creating great food and community. The summer vegetarian class last week had so many dishes included and ALL were delicious. I particularly enjoyed sitting down with our fellow cooking students to enjoy the fruits of our labor after making everything. If you are even considering taking one of her classes - just do it! You won't be sorry. It's a great experience.
John Logan: We attended the spanish nights class in January 2015, which seemed overbooked and too crowded for an interactive teaching experiece- Katie was working solo with 13 people, which made it difficult for the group to succeed in making a challenging dish like Paella, which did not turn out as we had hoped. The croquetas also did not turn out as planned due to a non-standard breading technique. Rough night for the chef- from the other reviews, it seems the experience is much better with a full teaching team on hand. We are looking forward to trying the recipies at home but are not sure we would repeat the experience.
Daniel Schudel: The cooking classes are very helpful and a lot of fun.
Melissa Bebb: I really enjoyed the experience Katie offers with her classes. I purchased a Mardi Gras themed cooking class for my boyfriend and I for date night. We had a lot of fun. The food was fresh, tasty and unique. I loved the jalapeño cheese grits with the fresh corn! Yum! The class wasn't as hands on as I initially expected (you aren't involved with the preparation of each dish), but with the number of dishes you get to try and the class only being 2 hours, this is to be expected. The themed based cocktails were a definite plus as well! I definitely plan to go again!
Carlos Russo: I had the pleasure of attending an event here last month. Katie and her team were absolutely wonderful. The house is very welcoming, and makes one feel right at home. I highly recommend Katie and the Durham Spirits Co. team for any of your company/large events; or stop by for any of their many scheduled classes. With amazing menus, and great cocktails, you'll have a great time. We can't wait to go back.
Domingo Rogers: Katie and the team at Durham Spirits Company are fantastic. Whether you are looking for a corporate/organizational activity or if you want to have a really cool activity for that special someone in your life, Katie and her team will build the perfect menu for you. I highly recommend Durham Spirits Company and will be back soon to learn more myself!
Rick Nipper: I had the good fortune of attending an event at the Durham Spirits Co. It's located in an old renovated house with a large welcoming foyer. It reminded me of my grandparents house. The setting makes you feel welcome and makes you want to stay. It's beautifully decorated from the wood trim to the chandeliers to the curtains. The back of the house has a spacious multi-level covered porch. The furnishings provide a warm and cozy atmosphere. The event I attended involved participating in preparing the food and drinks which was fantastic. The staff are fantastic at helping guide the event. This is an excellent location for an event and can accommodate a good-sized group of people. Be prepared to share the bathroom. Parking is located across the street.
Len: This place is great! I was here for a hands on mixology and culinary experience. The owner and staff are awesome! This place has a very unique atmosphere which really makes you feel at home. There is plenty of room for corporate or team building events. Be sure to visit the “See Inside” feature on the Google+ page to take a virtual tour! Highly recommended.
Olga Santo Tomás Monroe: This is a very special place that offers culinary classes and 'how to' on making original cocktails. The house is warm, cozy and full of beautiful antiques. The owner, Katie, is a creative and very capable entrepreuneress who offers her own recipe inventions as 'teaching' for the group before before we all enjoy them together. These are all wonderful 'fixings' for an amazing party. Try it, you'll like it!
Claire Gravenhorst: I had the wonderful opportunity to go the the Google local event they had here. The experience was wonderful!! we made all our own food which tasted amazing and was so fun!!! the place itself is absolutely beautiful and the staff were friendly and engaging. we all got a chance to talk afterward and I met some of the most amazing people! definitely take a class here. It will be well worth it!!
Jim Hilker: Wow! What a fantastic place! Take a Google virtual tour through this business by clicking on the "See inside" image on this page. It's well worth a look and it will have you wanting to go there!

Flour Power Kids Cooking Studios Holly Springs: what do users think?
MahiMahi: What a great place for kids.
Dobys Dumb Life: There was a man who had a very negative attitude, I am afraid if he is able to work with the kids and be positive. He had short hair/buzz cut and was working 10/7
Shaheen Fedewa: Mike and his team were wonderful! The kids had an amazing time. So many themes to pick from. Would recommend for anyone wanting to plan a stress-free birthday party!
Jennifer Pickett: My son just finished a week of camp here and had a great time. Fun Willy Wonka theme and dressing up each day and he enjoyed the cooking and challenges. I liked it because the signup was easy, I didn’t have to pack a lunch or snack (included!), and the communication was clear.
Viaan Alla: We had our daughters 4th birthday party 3Pm on 01/22/22 at the Holly Springs location . Because of the weather there was a lot of uncertainties the day of the party. But we went ahead with the original plan and all her friends made it. All the guests and the birthday girl had a blast. The staff was super friendly and made everybody feel special , not just the birthday kid. The location was very clean and well organized and the staff made sure everybody had a wonderful experience . I’ll surely recommend this place to all my friends for any future events .
Sarah LeRoy: What a fun birthday party for my 10 year old boys! They picked a Harry Potter theme and had so much fun. The location was clean and the evening was so organized. The owner was super helpful and friendly, and he took care of everything. The kids loved it!
