Natasha Frater: Chris would benefit from more training. He made several comments that did not need to be made. He misspoke and questioned me unnecessarily. Yes, follow all your policies and procedures but there is a professional way to do it without offending or accusing. He is also very slow which he said about himself twice. I called and spoke with Steven who I was told was the teller manager but I doubt anything will be addressed.
Xander Ibis: I'd leave zero stars if I could. Staff is unfriendly, inconsistent, unpersonable, and overall do not have your best interest in mind. Set an appointment 2 weeks out, when I show up they act like they didn't know I was coming! Gave no information as to what I needed to do or what THEY needed to do in order to run loan application process(didnt even ask me appropriate questions to see how much I could apply for!). Never had an experience like this at the other Cary branches, take your business there; I only went here because mine did not have a mortgage specialist available at the time.

Tracie Robinson: Their employees need to know the correct information we called last week to see if they have $2 bills and we let him know that we are not members of this particular credit Union we are a member of a credit union but in Florida and they told us that was fine that they do sell the $2 bills now the lady telling us today that they don't sell the $2 bills unless you are a State employees credit Union member which is ridiculous if you got the money why does it matter anyway I will never go there I will never have an account there I am not impressed with any of their employees today the one that we were actually working with seem very clueless on what to do with anything and had no idea what a $2 bill strap was
Andrew Mitchell: Atm consistently doesnt accept cash, or check deposits. 50/50 shot it wont let you withdraw cash. They "balance" their atm in the middle of the buisness day, so if for some reason it actually lets you make a deposit it won't post to your account. 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩

Hannah Mitchell: Received a call from this branch regarding a personal banking matter, I missed the call but immediately returned it. I was chastised for not knowing who left me the message, the voicemail was unclear, when I finally was able to identify some part of the name I was told that they had no idea who that was. I then was spoken to in a very condescending manner regarding a mistake I made with an online transaction and ultimately hung up on and told my funds would be withheld for 30 days. Is this how you treat clients of your bank? Is this acceptable of your company?

Serena Frierson: I live in Greensboro. I traveled to meet family for dinner. I was very displeased to find this place for ATM purposes and the ATM machine was down. Not a happy customer.
Helen Ross: The people who work in the offices are RUDE!!The casherirs are nicer but do not ask to speak with a person in the offices they will bite you. I rather make Bussiness in the one on Macedonia Rd. Alll the people there are super nice specially the tellers.
Mike Williams: Cary Walnut Street branch. Agent Keona Phelps assisted me with a CD transaction. She was very courteous and professional.

PRS1: Unfortunate experience with a very unfortunate employee. I have had an account at this bank for almost a decade. Today I offered to try and cash a check for a friend who is down on their luck. First off the speaker was broken on the drive through so nothing could be heard easily. Unfortunately the check couldn't be cashed which is fine. What isn't fine is being treated badly. I suspect the teller saw 2 young men attempting to cash a "suspicious" check with backwards hats. Or at least that's the way she treated us. Eye rolls and exasperation easily identified even with a mask on. She made us feel like we were doing something wrong. I have multiple accounts with this bank with money in all of them. I wasn't treated like a customer and that is very unfortunate. I am actually thinking about closing my accounts after today.

Tama R. Bouncer: All the staff is fabulous and make you feel like your personal bankers. I came in to set up some accounts for my mother and ended up refinancing my house. More recently I was depositing a lot of cash money from the sale of Girl Scout cookies and the tellers were very accomodating. The finance officer even encouraged my granddaughter to save money at the bank and not her piggy bank. Then she explained inflation and interest to her which was helpful to a 10 year old. I would never bank anywhere else!

Z L: Worst bank ever: if your debit card gets cancelled due to fraud: feel free to wait 5-10 days to get a new one. It should be mandatory that they overnight the card. It’s ridiculous that they’re okay with this. Also I had to request my new debit card multiple times. They also didn’t catch the fraud: I did. I am considering a new bank right now. If it takes that long to get my new card I think that they should be open on the weekend for me to get my new card.
Mikhail: This location is convenient, with abundant parkings and public bus access. Jakob at this branch helped me go through an auto loan smoothly. He is very professional in paperwork and amazing in supporting credit union members in their financial decisions. The best way is to talk to the staff in person, they will try their best to reach a solution.
Tyler Weiss: I've been a member my whole if atleast 30 years, my dad has been a member his whole life, and my dads dad had been a member his whole life until he passed. I recently opened a small business checking account first the minimum is 1500 you have keep in at all times. Second any check you deposit gets put on a new account 7 days hold at least even if you've deposited checks from that person before. Asa small business owner this affects me tremendously.I do not recommend there business accounts. Banks are barely standing as is so of course the want all the money of ours they can keep. The fact that they can't lower the minimum for a lifetime member is outrageous in my opinion. Coastal be better do better. You have gotten worse as a bank over the years. Your rates aren't competitive and your barely a credit union

Zach Stancil: After purchasing a car through this company years ago when they still had branches in Charlotte I thought It would be the same experience. After being on hold numerous times for well over 25 minutes I was told 5 days after applying for a loan I need to call back my self the next day we’ll that day came and was still given a run around after being denied needless to say the original loan I had with them had a 100 percent pay history so does my mortage currently. I don’t understand there practices but glad I decided to go else where and I received a much lower apr 3.9 through Wells Fargo do yourself a favor and run they will just hurt your credit for pulling it and denying for no right reason waste of time
Denise O: I would advise ANYONE that is considering doing business with Coastal to chose another bank. A reputable one that tests the roll outs of platform changes before rolling out to their customers. Since the roll out of the bill pay changes, every other month I have issues..bills not dropping in, bills being set up for scheduled payments that I've never set up, ebills dropping in and being paid arbitrary amounts that don't cover the bill, paying bills twice in a month, etc. I've just completed my 6th complaint call and was told that "I just have to watch the accts and see what the biller does". That's not my job, its Coastal's. Why should a customer have to monitor how a billers action performs? That was supposed to be vetted before roll out so as to not negatively impact your customers.After 24 yrs of being a member this bill pay issue will be the sole reason of why I will be ending my relationship with Coastal. It is clear they don't care about their customers based on the delivery of these sub par e-commerce options, as well as the subsequent "service" they provide once the screw up is uncovered. I've threatened to leave before and each time someone attempts to retain me, ensuring the issue is being resolved and then yet another issue appears that no one can resolve. They just can't get it right. After the new year I will be actively looking for a new bank. I hope this feedback helps others. I've reached my apex.

I also like the convenient hours. I also like that they post on their doors holiday hours and closures. SweetCream: I would not recommend coastal because they help certain people. They are not willing to help you even when you have direct deposit with them. One time I put in a loan request for under $200 dollars and they denied it because of my low credit score. I get paid monthly and have direct deposit with them and I get more than enough to pay what I borrowed back. They still would not and it goes back to, depending on the person.Now I'm unable to log in online since this last maintenance they did. Overall, coastal does not help blacks that much like they do for someone who is white. This is at every branch and that's sad.

GARY MATTHEWS: Online software has been a nightmare, as have all of the recent "upgrades", rather downgrades. Whoever designed the upgrade has no idea how customers use online. It is NOT intuitive, has unneeded pulldowns and it justs very poorly design. I wish I could run the old (at least 2 versions ago) system and show the comparison to the developers. Programmed this type of applications for many years, and we would always have a test team totally unfamiliar with the software, but would represent a expected customer to iron out the problems. Obviously nothing like this was done. I don't use the online anymore as I have a copy on my USAA account.

B Barranz: Horrible, coastal operates the same way any other bank does, the credit Union is just a name, communication is none existing, it took me over 2 years to get my PIN changed so I couldn'tget any cash at all, and over year and half to change my address so I could get my PIN sent to me, still didn't do it I had to take time off from my job to go into a branch so they could be rude to me in person.Thjs bank "Offer stuff" in over 10 years I have gotten none of them. Instead it's just problems, will be closing all accounts and go to a regular bank that had a better service. Do yourself a favor and do not get accounts here

You’ll wait 2-3 WEEKS for cards to be sent at any given time not just the first cards), and then another 1-2 weeks to get your freaking PIN# to even be able to use the darn card. I’ve been on hold forever so many times just trying to talk to someone in cust svc, you cannot update an email address unless you make time to EMAIL them and then they don’t even get back to you! They constantly do not follow through through timely with ANY issue, not with cards, FRAUD a reporting of charges, PIN #s..are we living in the 1930’s again with this business?? The other thing that’s really super annoying is the fraud department is “Outsourced” (all to save them money of course) so when they call and ask if fraud charges are on your card they will cancel your card immediately, but THEN you still have to call back personally out of your own time to have customer service issue a new card-which yep, takes 2+ weeks, NOT 5-7 days which is unacceptable as is! PNC can immediately same-day cut me a brand-new debit card at a local branch in under 5 minutes!!! I don’t know why people even stay with this “credit Union”. I’ve had my CCU Debit card skimmed TWICE in the last 3 mos and had to go and buy an RFID wallet, and RFID sleeve at my own cost via Amazon (BUY ONE RIGHT NOW BC FRAUD IS INSANE), bc their Fraud monitoring is the worst! And then they don’t even call to follow up with you regarding removing the erroneous charges!!! Why would they? They’re supposed to remove the charges like any other bank or CU! Be aware that scammers all over the world are easily getting access to your debit/credit cards without you EVER even taking it out of your wallet or purse. My debit card was skimmed at the NC State Fair last month and I used cash that whole day, never even pulled the card or wallet out to pay for any vendor or anything!!! And CCU never even called after I had the SEPARATE FRAUD CO they use immediately block the card. They do not care. The fraud representative even specifically told me she is blocking 100 cars a day every day, due to the skimming and all this fraud, and everything going on with recession and inflation and people that are just insane thieves. I worry so much for the elderly who don’t check their balances and have no idea what’s going on. Heck it even took me a while to figure it out. I’ll gladly pay PNC fees or another bank’s fees just to have SOME degree of customer service and just keep CCU to use them for cheaper loans but that’s it. Dealing with Coastal CU feels like the twilight zone trying to get anything done. Goodbye & never again. Run.
L “Luciano” Luciano: This place has great people in it, except for this one bank teller that goes by keisha. She has quite possibly the biggest chip on her shoulder and is extremely mean/rude. ATTITUDE every single time i get her. All the other bank tellers are nice people that make you feel comfortable but damn, This person ruins all of that. Today was my breaking point because she refused to let me take my own money out. I have had my id stolen and am working on getting it back. I do understand that i have to go through further measures to get my money out, which is obviously understandable and very needed. Today when I tried to withdrawal cash, as soon as she heard my name she said “nope, bye”, and ended her call. I can go into further detail as to how she acts if responded to.

He was available at all times for any questions or help we needed. He has a dedicated team who will ensure you get all the paperwork in place and on time. We were able to close our house without any issues or delays. I would certainly recommend Stan for your home loan needs. I am so grateful that I met Stan at the right time. Tara Hernandez: Worst bank to deal with as far as lending for customers that are trying to buy a vehicle. The company has continued to drop the ball with processing and approving loans. Michelle that handles funding is the worse lady to work with. She talks to you like you have no clue what you are doing when it is there system that is messed up and this was verified by another person I spoke with. Was told this deal probably fell through the cracks. When I asked her to speak with someone else above her. She said there was no one else which I highly doubt! Go to another credit union that values that you use them for customer lending. I would give a 0 for this Credit Union if I could.

Peter Ramos: Stan was so helpful with our mortgage loan. He was always available to work with us, whether by phone or email. He explained all the available options and helped us step by step throughout the process of purchasing our home. We would definitely choose to work with Stan and the whole Coastal team again in the future.
Academic Coach: Stan and his team at Coatal’s Cornerstone Branch went above and beyond to help us get our dream home. Tge process from start to finish was very smooth. Bazinga Effect: The bank manager is terrible
Dr. G Plastina (Doc G): This Coastal Credit Union branch is a nice place to open an account. It’s clean, spacious, and very welcoming. It has even a nice counter where customers can have coffee of your choice. It what impressed us was the people working there. We’re glad to meet Robert who has been a great pleasure to work with and my daughter was very grateful for the assistance. It was a joy to meet Robert and definitely we’ll be coming back for our sons’ banking needs. Five star for this branch.

michael phipps: I just refinance my house through Coastal Stan Hannen was my mortgage loan officer, he was excellent he did a great job very informative patient supportive and give good advice great guy to work with.
Teyondra Hall: The office closes at 5:30, and we came in today at 5pm. Robert greeted us by immediately complaining about how busy they’d been all day, and that he didn’t get why everyone was coming in (as if we weren’t one of those customers…awkward but ok) We told him what we needed, and he said “you should just do it online” and rolled his eyes. We responded saying we were already there, and didn’t mind waiting. He responds rudely “We’ll see what we can do.” At 5:30 Robert locked the doors, and said nothing to us. Several minutes later he walks over (at this point we’d been waiting 40 minutes at least) and says “I don’t know what to tell you guys. You should just go online like I said to begin with, and it’s not like you were getting an answer today anyways, and I have an alarm company that is going to be calling me any minute because it’s after closing.” That whole comment was so unprofessional. Also, mind you there were still customers in a room with an employee so the alarm comment being directed at us made no sense. But are you kidding me?! We’ve waited all that time and that’s what you have to say to us? Not even an apology, an offer to make an appointment, nothing. As we were leaving he just stood at the door, and stared at us- the doors were locked so we couldn’t open them the regular way. Instead of him opening the door for us, or even telling us how he just stared until we told him you locked the doors how do we get out? Needless to say this was a terrible experience. We have our checking, savings, and car loans through Coastal and after this experience will be most likely switching banks.

Juan Ramirez: So far have had an excellent experience myself. I have several products with Coastal by now, and found their rates are competitive. The online services have improved notably and continue to get better.

Praveen Sriram: Closed my CFCU account in Fall of 2014 due to the high membership fees and other fees. This place seems more like a bank than a credit union. If you are looking for a good bank I suggest First Citizens Bank in Preston Corners in Cary. They don't nickel and dime you like this place.
Jeffrey Dalton: Coastal Federal Credit Union is a terrible disorganized mess. Terrible.
Alla Webb: There is no way to find their local phone number. Lots of wasted time trying to get a real person on the line. No customer service. Robot service.
Shawn Marie Richards: I joined for the interest bearing Go Green checking, which is nice, but otherwise my experience has been abysmal. Terrible functionality, terrible customer service, lack of communication. I'll leave the maximum interest bearing amount in the account and do my banking elsewhere.
Michael Le: Great services and accounts offered here! Very unique financial institution with the use of electronic teller machines. Tellers are also available until 7 pm.
Hugues Thevenin Jr.: Best credit union bank in Raleigh, excellent and professional staff. Tons of incentives.
nancy pendergraph: Terrible phone system to try to reach Bank. Called from web and u reach a call center. Asked phone # for my branch and was told that they are not allowed to give it out. Really. That is not good customer service.

American Airlines Federal Credit Union: what do users think?
Darren Tonnessen: I had a great experience with the RDU-R team. Leena and Ben were super helpful and professionally navigated me through a new account setup and vehicle loan. Within hours after e-signing my docs I had a check available for pickup. My brother is a pilot and member and I now feel part of the "AA family".
