Mookie's New York Deli: what do users think?
Hobbes K: food was so good, got the Brussel sprouts (great) and latka (good), French dip (great), Reuben (great), cheesecake (good). nice local place for authentic NY style deli food!
Tia Scott: Awesome spot for sandwiches!! The gluten free buns are superb and the owner is super nice and accommodating! They even have a doggy menu that our dog loves!! Such a great spot in Cary and a great little patio!!
Ray Sweeney: Really good food! We’ll be back!
goutham siddhu: Title: Monday Madness and Mouthwatering Delights at Mookie's New York Deli Cary!I recently had the pleasure of visiting Mookie's New York Deli in Cary, and I can confidently say that it has become one of my favorite delis in town! From their Monday Madness promotion to their irresistible pastrami, this place is a true gem for deli enthusiasts.Let's start with Monday Madness—the Flip a Coin Sandwich. This concept adds an exciting twist to your dining experience. You flip a coin, and if you win, you get the sandwich absolutely free! It's a fun and interactive way to enjoy a delicious meal while keeping your wallet happy. Trust me, the sandwiches are worth the visit even if you don't win!Speaking of sandwiches, I must mention their pastrami—it's simply out of this world! Each bite of their juicy, tender, and flavorful pastrami is a slice of deli heaven. The quality and freshness are unparalleled, making it one of the yummiest and juiciest pastrami sandwiches I've ever had. If you're a pastrami fan, Mookie's New York Deli is a must-visit.But don't limit yourself to just the pastrami. Mookie's menu boasts a wide variety of classic deli favorites that are equally impressive. Whether you're craving a Reuben, a corned beef sandwich, or a mouthwatering bagel with lox and cream cheese, they have it all. The attention to detail in their ingredients and the care put into each sandwich is evident in every bite. Now, let's talk about the Empire Challenge—an exhilarating test of your appetite! If you're feeling adventurous, I highly recommend giving it a shot. The Empire Challenge dares you to finish a massive meal in under 18 minutes. It's not for the faint of heart, but it's a fantastic way to challenge yourself and enjoy some fantastic food in the process. The staff at Mookie's New York Deli deserve a special mention as well. They are friendly, attentive, and passionate about providing an exceptional dining experience. They go above and beyond to ensure your visit is memorable, offering recommendations and catering to dietary preferences with ease.In conclusion, if you're in the Cary area and looking for an authentic New York deli experience, Mookie's New York Deli is the place to be. From their Monday Madness promotions to their mouthwatering pastrami and other delectable offerings, every visit is a treat. Don't forget to try the Empire Challenge at least once—it's an adventure you won't soon forget. I can't wait to return and explore more of their delightful menu!Disclaimer: This review is based on my personal experience and preferences. Results may vary for others.
Valerie Mace: Went for lunch & we ordered the "petite" pastrami & roast beef sandwiches & they were delicious!!! Super tender meat, very healthy portions & it was hands down one of the most NY reminiscent deli sandwiches that I've had since moving away from NY. Great little spot, atmosphere was energetic, wait staff was awesome- we'll definitely visit again!
Brittany Pleasant: Great spot for a great sandwich! We went here for dinner and it was pretty good! Our dog absolutely loved the chicken and rice dish! It's so fun when we can bring our furry friend along to meals and even better when we can get her something too!We had the potato pancakes as an appetizer and then birch beer and ginger ale to drink. We really enjoyed the birch beer! The potato pancakes were good, and the apple sauce gave it a nice sweetness and coolness. Our sandwiches were HUGE! I wish we had split a meal because wow we had leftovers! The fries were fresh and the right amount of crispy fries vs softer fries! The service was good and everything came out very quickly. Overall a great spot for something quicker to eat! And VERY dog friendly!
JD Slatta: Great cocktails, sandwiches, and more. This deli brings the NYC experience to Cary NC. The Mookie's Club is massive! (See Photos)
Lauren: Delish! Chopped cheese 👨‍🍳💋
The BULLETPROOF UMBRELLA: Excellent service, better sandwiches
Nette Williams: OMG i ate from this place for the first time and i must say it was SOOOO GOOD!! I ordered the Chicken salad sandwich on Multigrain bread lightly toasted with chips and i really enjoyed it! The lady that gave me a menu and took my order was super friendly and nice!! this is now my new lunch/sandwich spot! lol Thank you!!
Charlie Copeland: Pros: I went on a Thursday and bourbon was $2 off!Cons: I went with the hot dogs and I was disappointed.I need to go back and hit up some sandwiches.
Nuss: The best NY style deli in the Raleigh area, hands down. We've been several times in person and via door dash. Their deli meats are the highest quality and we've never had anything that wasn't delicious. Plus, they have Dr. Brown's soda! Amazing food and service, can't recommend them enough.
Meg Furnari: Always spectacular food and service. Everything is delicious. Love it here. Return often.
Brittany Hendrickson: Meat was super dry. Needed a ton more dressing and more veg. Ton of meat, just needed something more. Sandwich was HUGE though! Great portion for the price. Friendly staff. Will be back!
Melissa Pasquinelli: We stopped in tonight for dinner and were really impressed with their burgers (freshly ground in-house daily from brisket!), fries, salad, and kids meal. Service was friendly and not long of a wait for food. We will certainly be back!
Patrick Ellsworth: Great Deli. Nice staff, fun place, and the Latkes are awesome. Just give it a try.
Libby: Been in NC 5 years and finally found my NY pastrami sandwich at Mookies. Everyone has a slightly different idea of perfect. Millions of people, millions of opinions. Mookies is a deli...order the way you want it. I like a no frills sandwich, pastrami on sourdough (wanted rye but their rye has seeds, no big deal) with deli mustard and THAT'S IT. My style. I got what I ordered to perfection. Bread was as expected, the pastrami was decadently moist and just warm enough, not salty and the right amount for the bread. I don't expect a life changing experience, just a real good sandwich. Next time, the lox and bagel platter...can't wait. Good job. Our waiter was friendly and as other servers passed they always stopped to see if we were fine. We'll be back......FAST FORWARD...we did go again and had the lox...was not disappointed, quality lox and guess what, will be going again soon!!! Fast forward again! Went again, my husband and I now realize this has become a habit!
Eastwick Farms: Very generous portions. Very well done food in general. Pricier, but they will feed you!.
Dorothy Jablonski: Ron and his staff work really hard to provide excellent food and customer service. We love mookies the food deli selection is the best we have found in Cary . Today we tried the black and white dessert it’s made in house my husband said ‘that was so good I ate it all’. And I replied with you didn’t even leave me a morsel… You must give them a try you will not be disappointed ❤️
Wendy Lassiter: I have been here twice and had 2 delicious meals! Service is great too!
Benjamin Prue: Not a ton of authentic NY delis around here, so compared to other similar options around here this is a great option

Serendipity Gourmet Deli: what do users think?
Taylor Jones: Lovely little deli that is unfortunately hampered by irresponsible negligence towards their environmental impact. They have no dishes! Only styrofoam containers, cups and all! They are likely doing this to cut costs and avoid hiring a dishwasher. I can literally hear the styrofoam being crushed into the trash can while I eat as a constant reminder of the micro plastic that I am consuming! Yum cancer!
Bobby P: This was a nice little sandwich shop. The staff was friendly and the sandwiches were good. (The chips were ok.) I'd grab something here again if I'm in the neighborhood.
Kory Hopkins: This is a must stop location for lunch in downtown Cary NC. They have the best sandwiches I have had in the area. They have limited seating inside and a great wraparound deck for seating outside. If your ever in the area I definitely recommend stopping by.
Akshay Paruchuri: No idea what it's actually called on their menu, but the tuna melt-like sandwich on croissant bread is absolutely wonderful. This place is a reliable go-to when I'm in or near downtown Cary!
Cesar Garibaldi: This place was really good! The sandwich that I got was grilled pastrami and corned beef. With jalapenos and provolone cheese! You have to try this place out.
Justin Jefferies: Damn good sandwiches!
Britt Lang: I was fairly grossed out by the amount of styrofoam products being used here. Even dine-in orders were passed out in boxes of styrofoam. Heck, even the cups were styrofoam. It seems truly lazy to not wash a dish or dump a wax paper lined basket for a dine-in customer. Even paper plates would be more environmentally conscious… But styrofoam?
Linda Harris: "This place surely is not what it used to be.The service was lacking in every aspect,no smile,no "thank you's" and they sandwich I got was on plain old bread.Used to go years ago and it was a treat. The owners did not speak English very well and he was in a hurry to take our order, was very rude!!!!!!!!!! We had 2 sandwiches and a small salad and it came to $36,when I asked for a receipt he said "ran out of tape" I will never go back again!
Jennifer Fortner: The real deal! Fresh, delicious food with 70’s cool vibes
Hillary Varner: Great food, idyllic dining atmosphere, especially when the weather is nice for eating outside.Love the shade and trees on the patio area!Perfect for dates, work lunches, staycations, etc.
Zoe: The food is there but it’s nothing great. I got the quiche and it definitely looked like it was heated in the microwave and was served with iceberg lettuce in a styrofoam container. The restaurant has a certain type of charm but it is not entirely clean.
Tim McWilliams: Best cheese steak I’ve had since Philly. Great potato salas as well.
Lance Shrader: Good good and service
Emily Butler: Quaint atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff, good food and decent prices. I usually go for the carrot cake. Cute, shaded outdoor seating in courtyard when it’s warm.
Jayme Dubernas: Cozy place and friendly staff. Delicious meals. Downtown Cary charming great location.
Stephanie Schlosser: Cute place. I got the Mexican turkey sandwich and it was tasty!
edju561: Great food and quick service
Mohamed Belarbi: It's my first time in this restaurant,I like the food and the service was very good 👍
Rachel Smith: Quality, consistently good food and really nice people. We eat here at least once a week for the last month and we’re impressed every time. It’s simple, delicious, fresh sandwiches and soup.
John Williams: Freaking delicious deli food. New York City caliber.
Audrey Bowen: Awesome lunch or brunch spot! Always amazing food. Quick service and not too pricey!

New York Bagel & Deli: what do users think?
Jayme Dubernas: Fresh made that morning the begals as well there desserts. Friendly staff orginally from New York. Delicious!
Amy Manson: I’m from long island and this is the closest to NY bagels as i’ve been able to find here. No complaints on the food or service, however the prices are insane! I’ve never had to pay $8 for a bacon egg and cheese back home. In total I spent $20 on a sandwich, a bagel and 2 snapples. Super disappointing
Chris G: Love it.. Definitely my go to place for bagels. Moving from NY, finding good bagels is always a challenge, so worth the trip from a neighboring town to get bagels, either a dozen to bring home or bagel with egg and cheese or other combinations
Carolina C. Alford: Delish. Tad pricey but yummy. Abundant
Business AsUsual: Really had a NY bagel shop vibe, l loved the atmosphere. They also have NY prices. My helper was very nice polite and patient. The sausage egg cheese was bangin. The jalapeno cream cheese was kinda weak, no heat/kick at all so that cc l will not get again but l will definitely go back, for this little piece of home. And the pastries looked amazing...l gotta get the black/white to see if its authentic. Stay tuned!!!
Kris L: Great breakfast
Louis Pinault: Found it! The place for absolutely delicious bagels. Quality ingredients, carefully made, definitely not a chain recipe. Just go! Eat. You'll be back.
Kat “KAT” Mic: Great bagels. just like home(NJ). They also have delicious pastries like back home that seem to be made in house. I had the cannolo, which was so good. shell was made from scratch. black and white cookie was very good as well. Had a cheesesteak, sooo good. cheesy, greasy, very good roll too. I will be back!!
Brad Gold (NCNYChief): I always go to the one in Raleigh so I decided to go to this one just to check to see if it's the same. While it is a bit smaller than the other one. It's just as good. I believe brothers own each one but I'm not sure. Regardless, if you miss New York bagels then this one or the one in Raleigh is absolutely worth the trip. What I liked about this though is it wasn't as crowded as the other one gets so I was able to get in, get my stuff and run out. Overall I would highly recommend this place.
John: Authentic NY Bagels. This is the place to come. Turn up early though things sell out here.
girish hirpara: Went there in early morning hopping to get fresh bagel. It was leftover bagel from previous day. was like chewing on lather.
Eric Alexander: Usually a line on the weekends in the mornings. This morning it was 32 folks however they rolled through, had plenty of bagels and the staff was great. I got a dozen bagels to drop off at a friend's house and a sandwich for myself. Consistently good !
Ana D.: The line seems long but it moves quickly. It's worth the wait. One of the best bagels I've had in a long time
Christine P: The service was excellent and the food delicious as always. The bacon, egg, and cheese on a kaiser is a favorite, as is the pastrami, egg, and cheese on an asiago bagel.
Chris Aves: Really great bagel place. Tried for the first time today and liked it a lot!
Andrew Buchan: Really great bagels. They have pork roll/Taylor ham for us Northern imports.
Vernon Mason Jr: Just visited for the 1st time. The bagel was so good and fresh. It was the perfect texture, soft on the inside with a little crust on the outside. It's probably the BEST bagel I've ever eaten. We also shared the crumb cake, and it was amazing! Highly recommended!
Nay Monee: Reminds me of home. Glad the NY was brought to NC.
Steve D’apuzzo: Awesome, Awesome bagels and pastries, just like Brooklyn NY . Love it !!!!! Italians Do It Better!!!!
Niover Licea: I don’t knew about this place, the most beautiful was is close to home. The service was great and faster. The bagels well served and delicious. Continues working and giving this services guys. My congratulations to everyone!
ann largent: Yum yum yum

The staff..Cook - Mr. Green, Josh, Derek...and my SuperStar Mrs. Juanita Wilson, Sheila Gray.I would give 10 stars if I could they were all awesome and professional..The bread was fresh and the Impossible Steak Juanita recommended should be named after her!. I will definitely go again SOON
evyn metzig: Ordered 2 small bobbies and 1 small cole Turkey. Honestly the one in Arizona is amazing!!! This one you can tell the sandwiches are made by people who really don’t care, which I get it’s just another job for kids, but when my sandwiches are 95% stuffing and coleslaw and there’s barely any meat and cheese it’s not good. Also I found Turkey bones in my sandwiches which is gross. Will not be coming back….

Chris Kennedy: Absolute waste of an excuse for a fast food place. Took me 30 minutes to get two sandwiches made meanwhile every customer that came in after me was served within a reasonable amount of time. The cashier that took my order wasn't very friendly and seemed miserable. I almost thought she charged me the $34 and never submitted the order. The food itself was expensive, 2 medium sandwich combos for $34 is a bit much. The food was also lacking, I've had better food from a gas station for a fraction of the price. I drove an hour to try this place and honestly can say I won't be back. The Bobbie sandwich (the supposed best sandwich in America) was disgusting.

The Butcher's Market of Cary: what do users think?
Julie Carlino: Great shop with everything needed for meat
Thomas Quinn: Great selection of marinated meats. Prepare to pay a pretty penny, but the taste of the marinated meats are fantastic. They have craft beers available for purchase and other unique items that are not easy to find all in one place. Highly recommend!
Matthew Orlemanski: Great place, great meats
goutham siddhu: I recently visited The Butcher's Market of Cary and was blown away by the quality of the meat and the exceptional service provided by the staff. The meat was fresh and flavorful, and the selection was impressive, including a variety of grass-fed, organic, and locally sourced options. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable about the products and offered helpful recommendations based on my preferences. The store was clean and well-organized, making it easy to find what I needed. Overall, I highly recommend The Butcher's Market of Cary to anyone who values high-quality meat and excellent customer service
Nicholas Tart: Friendly staff and best meats and sandwiches in the area
James C.: Purchased some spectacular dry aged NY strip steaks today. They grilled up amazingly and the meat was buttery smooth and delicious. Great sides and wide selection of seasonings and rubs. I am a salt and pepper steak man, but for other meats great possibilities. Friendly & knowledgeable staff. Found a winner here and will make it part of the regular rotation!
jason jones: My first visit here. Very impressed
Jenn Smith: Great store! Very helpful staff!!
Christopher Musante: Very professional and they had everything we needed.
Eric Nguyen: First time coming here and I'll definitely come back. Service was quick and friendly. They had some great options all around. Shout-out to Zoe for the upsell on all the products. Took home the stores frozen chicken meatballs and they were outstanding!
Golf Bob: Wonderful place to shop for all kinds of meat including rabbit. Lots of sauces, rubs, and side dishes too! I will be back!!!
Jan Eichen: Danny and the Butcher's Market in Cary made our Thanksgiving great and went above and beyond helping us with our order. All was incredibly delicious!
John Hardman: A bit pricey, but excellent quality.
Rob Vogel: It's rare to find steak this well done
Joe Schofield: Updated review: been coming here for years and still never disappoints.I'm appalled at myself for not writing a review for this place already. I grew up in a small neighborhood with a local butcher. We used to go here and get fresh meats and local grocery items. The place I knew is long gone and replaced with chains. The Meat House has really brought me back to that local feel. This place is amazing and their meat selection is unbelievable. The butchers here are very friendly and welcoming. You can also ask for items that aren't on display, such as selections of fresh lamb cuts or pork belly slabs and they'll cut it fresh, or order it if its not in stock. They are always open to answering questions and giving advice on food prep and cooking, as well as giving you ideas for a meal. Great place and worth the extra cost.
Daniel Wuliger: If you’re not getting your meat here, you’re missing out. Service is always amazing! Food is always beyond what you could imagine fresh could be. I mean, aside from their tender and delicious fry aged beef. I am going to have them provide my turkeys this year. Last year they provided me with a 5 pound prime rib roast. Amazing!!!
Robert Adams: A disappointing trip to the Butcher's Market. First, it had no whole roasting chickens except possibly in the freezer. That's not my idea of a butcher shop. Secondly, the meat clerk had no idea what a fresh pork ham was. Okay, I'll give a break;a lot of people don't although I would think a specialty meat store clerk would. Guy#2 appears and after I explain what I wanted, he says they don't have that. Now, in this discussion, I didn't detect any overt rudeness but I got a definite vibe that he thought I was wasting his time. Just not friendly, helpful, or sympathetic. Sort of soured me on the Butcher's Market.
Casey Murdock: Best spinach artichoke dip ever!!!!!! Pair it with some pita bread and you’ll be obsessed like we are in our family!!!
Sandi Perry: Wonderful store!!
Sylvester Daniels: Great place for all your cooking needs. My favorite at this location is theHot Pastrami sandwich.
Suzie So: I just devoured a hot steak and cheese sandwich and it was the best sandwich I've had in months.

Village Deli and Grill: what do users think?
Layla Borisouth: Good size place and food
Belinda Adams-Bybee: Employees are not helpful and friendly. They also stood around in group being disruptive. Food was ok.
Theodore Williams: love it a bit pricey but its worth it friendly and fast, food is great clean atmosphere very spacey it the only restaurant in the immediate area
Mark Harrison: Granted it was lunch time. Monday at 1230 but waited for 25 mins for a grilled chicken salad that was $15 to get lettuce. A small portion of chicken. Cheese and they forgot the dressing. Each visit this place gets more and more expensive and less good at the delivery of what is ordered.
J W: nice place and good food and variety of choices
German Garcia-Fresco: i dont like leaving bad reviews but this is so the owners can read this and fire their employees. I own a few businesses and I can tell you employees like this are no good it is 2:35pm Friday May 19. Website says opened till 4pm and door states opened till 4pm. Go in the door amd both employees tell me is closed. I state that door says 4pm and they say no ot is wrong we close at 3. Which if it is 2:35 you should still serve even if close at 3pm. People just dont want to work anymore these days.
Catrina Kaye: Ordering a sandwich is a joke; ordered a turkey bacon club and got regular bacon; called the restaurant to explain that my sandwich was wrong. Went back to the restaurant and the woman (older) who is at the front curbside / pickup was extremely rude and dismissive. Why is she working at your store??? If you want to continue bettering your business, you should have a strong conversation with her. When I asked about my order, the woman rudely said "its over there" - I got back to my office just to see that the sandwich that I got was still WRONG - i recieved the same exact sandwich just remade all over again. This place has consistently went down. I will not be coming back again and will not recommend coming here.
jason jones: Good food and fast service.
Erik York: How do you mess up a turkey club? Three slices of the dryest, most flavor-absorbant bread I've ever had for one cold club. It's not hard to charge 16 dollars for a turkey club, but I could a got a turkey club this good dumpster diving at 7-11. Take out the middle slice and use bacon instead of upholstery leather and what you'll have is a stock image of the product you tried to sell. Two stars cause the fries were aight, and cause this is an easy fix. Nobody likes bread that much, and even the Big Mac knows it's cutting corners.
Tyree Sykes: The food never disappoints.
Akilan R: Should have read the reviews instead of just seeing the 4.2 rating. I guess it went downhill recently. Same complaints, don't want to type again.
Jeanne Oltman: Ordered the “house made” chicken salad sandwich on homemade white bread. Chicken salad was tasteless and clung together like it was pre made from food service supply. The bread was dry and stale - I just ended up throwing it away. It was pricey too. What a waste. Not sure what happened to this place but it’s certainly not what it used to be.
T Wms: This was my third time coming to Village Deli. The food is good but pretty overpriced (tenders & drink = $18.35) but I was okay with paying the cost because I didn't have to travel too far while on my lunch break. I had a horrible experience today with the staff specifically Brandi & Ashonda. I come to this deli because it's near my job. However, after my experience, today I’ll be driving the extra couple of miles to another Deli with better customer service. Brandi & Ashonda found it appropriate to talk about their customers (loud enough that the customer could hear them) because they veritably didn't care what I thought. (So it was said) Long story short I asked for a breakdown of the price. On my receipt, that information was not captured. Brandi & Ashona either didn’t know how to break it down to me or felt they didn’t have the time. Either way, they made me very uncomfortable.
Daphne Rivers: I love the atmosphere, staff and food at the Raleigh Location. The Aviation Pkwy location is so different…the veggie soup had a bite of a carrot and a bite of a potato and the rest was broth. Tuna sandwich was great; however the service is so bad and rude that I would never come to this location. The gal taking my order apparently she really wanted to go home and was not happy that she had to take my order. They close at 3:00 and I came in at 2:25 PM. I ordered my food and they put it in a bag to go even though I was eating inside the restaurant. The staff was cleaning up all around me - putting chairs on top of tables then mopping around my feet. It was a sign that they wanted me to get out of there. I left 20 minutes before 3 o’clock because it was so uncomfortable with the mop sloshing around my feet!
ldwhitney: For the money the sandwiches are skimpy. I’m disappointed.
Megan Wheless: The food and service have always been great. I especially like their breakfast items. Update: the Aviation Parkway location hasn't been opening on time recently. The last 4 times I've tried to stop in between 7-7:30AM, the posted hours say they're open at 7, but the doors are still locked or you get inside to find out there's going to be a 15 minute delay because the grills aren't on yet. I still love the food here, but they need to update their hours or get staff that will be prepared to open on time.
get buckets: Always great service and great food.
Phillip Charles Jones: I enjoyed the sandwich, but sandwich, chips and a drink for $20 is only a sometimes thing now
Don Winstead: My shredded chicken panini was excellent. Sweet potato fries awesome. However, My wife's roast beef panini did not taste fresh.
Choyce: Customer service was great. I ordered 3egg omelet with ham, sausage, bacon and cheese w/white toast. The eggs came out darker than my skin color, it took 15 mins. They had only 1 table in the place so why did it take so long to cook eggs. The toast was hard as a rock and cold. This place looked so appealing but need a new cook! He had no motivation as he asked what's wrong with it. The server herself commented, "THEY ALL NEED TO BE RETRAINED". So sad, what a great location and menu to serve burnt medioco food! I REFUSED to eat that food asked for a refund ASAP.I don't recommend eating here until you change cooks! How do they stay afloat looking at all the complaints?😒🧐😤🤔
tim dorsey: Great food, awesome staff and a overall good experience ☺️👍.
