Mykah Bourgoin: I first came to Andrea from a recommendation from my doctor's office when asking for a trans-friendly provider, and was informed that Andrea is whom they refer out to, since so many of their patients have had nothing but praise for her. I first made a consultation to do electrolysis because I didn't understand how laser worked, and didn't think it would work. Andrea took the time to educate me on both processes, and made the recommendation to do laser first, because it would be long term cheaper for me. At follow up appointments I would be so excited at the effectiveness of laser, and keep asking if I should switch to electrolysis for the remaining hairs. At each time Andrea patiently explained to me the options, and the costs and benefits of each, and while she advised on a course of treatments, she respected my right to choose what option to go with. In all these cases, Andrea has advised me of the path that will cost me the least to get to where I want to get, even though strictly speaking, it would have been more profitable for her to not do so, and just let me start with electrolysis first. At every stage, she has advised me from the perspective of what was in my best interests, while remaining respectful of what choices I wanted to make. My only complaint is that during the appointment duration, she starts reading her messages, replying to her clients or uses restroom. Even if she has to do her personal things, she should compensate for that time. Other electrologist use alarm clock and they stop the watch for personal things. Every time its like for 30 minutes appointment, I am only getting treated for 20 minutes only. I should be treated for 30 minutes. Not like, if appointment timing is 11 -11.30am, during the treatment you are doing your own things in between. She is very good but needs to be more professional. She should use alarm clock and treat for the whatever duration we are paying for.

The laser left very dark discoloration on her upper lip for weeks after each session and didn’t reduce any hair growth. My daughter decided to stop going after the third session because it was so bad. When she addressed this issue with Dana, she acted as if it was no big deal and told her she cant keep “looking in the mirror too much.” We thought maybe my daughter’s skin just wasnt suited for laser hair removal. A few months later she decided to try another place (Milan Laser) and had a wonderful experience there. It was much less painful and she has not been experiencing the discoloration after sessions. It is also a much more pleasant and professional experience. Not sure what Dana’s laser did but I definitely do not recommend coming here.

She knows how to control the current so that it isn't painful, it is normal for some people to bleed from overly dry pores, or if you had too much caffeine before treatment.People who actually done their research before beginning the treatment would have known that you should be well hydrated before your treatments, and sometimes if you have two hairs out of the same pore, there might be some bleeding when you're trying to pull them out, you just have to know that it might happen, I've been to three different electrologists before, and I felt like Myrtle really knows what she's doing.It's really sad that the other reviewers had to use her age as an excuse, when I think it should be the opposite, she's a very skilled professional, and I would rather have someone with over a decade of experience take care of my facial hair.I hope other people will appreciate her knowledge and experience too.

Elizabeth Davis: I was unhappy with the service. I asked for my eyebrows to be trimmed up and instead of just removing the stragglers, Myrtle removed a section of nearest my nose on the left side, missed several obvious ones closer to my nose and didn't make the eyebrows even. Also, when Myrtle thought she was finished, she handed me a mirror and I kept insisting she get the very obvious ones she had missed. We repeated that process a few times. I asked if she had another appointment after me and she responded yes but, honestly by the time I was ready to leave, no one had arrived and I felt as though she was tired and just wanted to get me out.On a minor note, the home studio was not air conditioned and I was uncomfortable. I wish I had read the review more in-depth rather than just looking at the overall reviews because in Myrtle's self-review, she gave herself a five-star review. Without her self-glowing review, her rating drops from 3.4 to 2.2.
