Ed: We went with family to the amphitheater, especially for our young children to experience fireworks close up for the first time. We had thought that this venue would provide a more sophisticated environment with the symphony entertaining, but we unfortunately were mistaken. The entire experience was a nightmare from the sheer volume of attendees, the overwhelming amount of traffic, overpacked lawn area, incompetent gate workers, mind numbing line waiting and prices for concessions. We arrived 2 hours early before fireworks in order to have sufficient time to enjoy the amenities, and perhaps avoid any stress from later arriving crowds. This turned out to be a pointless strategy because the rush was on even at this time frame with lines at the check-in gate compounded by aggravating gate personnel. The sensor went off at the gate, I emptied my pockets, and, except for the amalgam in my fillings, I was free of metals. They were confused why I was emptying my pockets but still detaining me for the detector still going off. They seemed a little jumbled about their job requirements so I waited until they sorted themselves out. Given the all clear, I expressed myself on their level of expertise and I proceeded. The amphitheater was pretty but arriving at the lawn, or pine needles, it was already overtaken with people. This was a smaller amphitheater from my experience, which might contribute to the overcrowding, especially a free event like this. It was literally people packed upon one another, walking over and around each other, no peaceful sitting on "the lawn" here. They had a hot dog for sale,... about the only average food on the menu, otherwise it was like Au Bon Pain with aioli on your wagyu beef patty and commensurate pricing,  $14 swanky cheeburger, $10 soft drink, $12 beer. I commend having premium offerings, however sticking to some basic items would have helped. Even free they had their gimmick for extracting a pound of flesh it seems. The Symphony was beautiful from what we could hear, however music volume on the upper lawn was insufficient to compete with the noise and conversations. We decided to, unfortunately, leave the lawn area and head towards the pond and food truck area, for a better view and to focus on the main event. This did not disappoint with a wonderful 20 minute display, thank you town of Cary. The food trucks were undoable, swamped, lines ten car lengths long provided no recourse. When leaving we encountered the final punishment of the entire fiasco. A fifteen minute drive home turned into an hour and a half, hundreds of cars just sitting for about forty five minutes to an hour in parking lots idling. On our walk back to the free parking area on Regency parkway they opened up traffic westbound in the eastbound lane to maximize car egress I would guess. Unfortunately, despite a sidewalk, there still were people unknowingly walking in the eastbound road from the previous length of roadway marked off and closed. This was quite dangerous being it was dark and as the vehicles came up from behind pedestrians quickly, without warning, having been released from their bondage in the parking lot. There was yelling and angry horn honking, cars accelerating around people and themselves to get by. It didn't seem well planned out and fortunately didn't end catastrophic.Great fireworks, thank you Cary. However, the amphitheater has room for improvement. As other reviews have mentioned, considering the size of the turnout for the event, limiting the attendance or increasing the surrounding entertainment capacity for crowds would be helpful. Maybe decentralizing the entertainment from the amphitheater, and in partnership with the city, having a couple of bands out on the public Street, like they do in Raleigh, would help to increase enjoyment and distribute the crowds. As for the amphitheater, I would reconsider going to other events there if I knew there were similar circumstances, which numerous other reviews have confirmed as being the case.
Ron Cohen: Went for fire works, would have been nice if somewhere it was posted you HAVE to be in the amphitheater to see them. Don't go for July 4th unless you pay to sit inside.Looks like a fun spot for a show, but it's ABSOLUTELY not family friendly for July 4th without buying seats. And even then it was incredibly over crowded and extremely expensive...
Justin Bulson: The staff were very kind, accommodating, and very helpful when we had some issues with the security team. The Koka Booth Amphitheater staff went above and beyond to make sure my friends and I who are disabled were comfortable and accommodated.Visited on Public holiday Wait time Up to 10 min Reservation recommended Yes Price for adult entry Free …More

WakeMed Cary Hospital: what do users think?
FC Bryant: Absolutely excellent staff in the ER. Treated with compassion and care and attention.
Margaret Yousif: We are from Chicago on a vacation and my husband had a heart attack. Each and every single person we dealt with was off the charts amazing!! No words!!!The paramedics and the firefighters are top shelf!!!The Heart center inn is an amazing service that should be replicated eveywhere!!Thank you all at WakeMed!!!You really do it rigjt!!
M S: Wake Med Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Center in Cary really surprised me with their excellent customer service. The ladies at the Surgical Services Reception, the Pre Op nurse and team in general were great. Really good bed side manners. Also the place is very clean and welcoming. It could use some coffee/tea and filtered water station for people in the lobby area. They do have vending machines and cafeteria in the building. Very organized and smooth process. Lobby area is large and comfortable. It has tables and plugs in case you have to bring work with you while you wait. It has free parking deck and uncovered parking.
Vivi D: We just moved here from Florida 3 weeks ago and visited the ER after my husband had stroke like symptoms (thankfully was nothing serious), but what an amazing experience we had. I don't know if it's because we just moved from Miami where everything is a disorganized circus, but the visit here was so refreshing. Everyone was so compassionate, friendly, helpful, informed, and caring. I can't say enough about all the staff we dealt with from the doctor to the custodian. Thank you. You are very appreciated!!
Cesar Teyuco: We have bad birth experience in other hospitals but this hospitals is the worst 😫
Kathryn C: When reports of child abuse arises they do not call CPS. Instead they send the child back to the abusive family member for more abuse. Shame on this whole hospital, every doctor, every nurse who fails to be a voice for child victims.
Sonya Kearse: My loved one is due to be discharged from the ER. The ER moved us out of our room at 11am transport was due to be here at 130pm. Put us out in the hallway. I hear other patients diagnosis and doctors and nurses talking about patients personal information. Maybe there are different rules for ER versus the doctors office when it comes to hippa rules. It is now 413pm and we are still waiting for transportation which it was a mix up with the company that handles that. The ER needs to be expanded so patients aren't diagnosed in the hallway. My loved one needs privacy and all the patients do. The hot water wasn't hot in the room I was in, it barley got warm and that might be a health department violation. Unless it only has to be hot in the room they test for the inspection. Doctors and nurses are wonderful and need to be paid a lot more.
Lori Collins: I came on a Saturday night with a broken wrist and was brought back very quickly. Everyone was wonderful Chris RN, Kelly? RT and Andrew the PA from wake ortho. Everyone worked together quickly to make me comfortable and let me get out and still make my flight to vacation
Cindy Smalletz: I came down to visit my parents, and ended up needing to take my mom to the ED and we came to this one because it was closer to home, even though she's usually part of a different hospital system. From the moment we walked in the door we got in (no wait at all) right away, and spent the night. The staff took care of us, even fed my dad and I, checked in on us often, demonstrated solid medical tests and decision making based on the results, and admitted her overnight. Her experience in the patient room was also stellar. The nurses and doctors called me when I wasn't there to update me each step of the way also, and transferred her out to another hospital for a procedure smoothly and efficiently, also with many updates. It was a complicated unclear case, and we are all grateful for coming here first and feeling so cared for by the many staff members we interacted with, from the CNA's to the RN's to the PA's to the MD's. So grateful, and probably the most pleasant hospital ED experience of my entire life.
Tim P: One of the worst hospitals I have been to. You can’t get a hold of the billing department and when you do they aren’t able to answer billing related questions they should. Billed me twice for the same visit and then deleted past transactions to negate the fact that it’s already been paid to get more money out of you. Would not recommend.
Billy Delacruz: Got my back hurt and came here, got a bill as expected, I sent the payment from my HSA account and a few weeks later I received a notice saying they are sending me to collections, I called and they say there are no records, if I check my balance I can see they took my money. Called HSA and they said payment went through normal. Now I lost my money since to avoid collections I sent ANOTHER payment. I have a 100% on time payment record and can't have this place ruin it.Is frustrating that they refuse to search my payment I can't believe at the end of the month they have this extra money and don't bother to know where is it coming from, who keeps it?
kyle white: I had a good experience. The nurses were amazing. The CNA'S were great. The doctors need some lessons on how to treat patients. The bed was actually comfortable. My room was clean. I just didn't agree with what the diagnosis they were treating me with.
cristen: IM COMPLEATLY IMPRESSED WITH THE CARE THATS GOING ON IN THIS PLACESTARTING WITH THE ER NURSE JERMY H OR M IS A RAINBOW 🌈 AND HE SENDS A BLANKET OF love LAUGHTER CARING AND ENCOUREMENT not only to the patients but the staff as well HE needs recognition ! TheDIETARY TEAM IS ON POINT they act like care takers and the food is always piping hot with plenty of optionsThe nurses and aid s on the 3rd floor are exactly what a caregiver should look like.... the caring aspect is on another Level
Ms Jane Crissman Poole: Be aware at this hospital, family is not allowed to see the patient after surgery until they are ready to go home. Drive up and leave. This is not good considering the shortage of staff. So while you loved one is trying to wake up, you are not allowed to care for them. I will not use this hospital unless no other choice staff is friendly and the doctors are nice. Just do not care for this rule
Jac K: This for sure is the worst hospital! To be avoided like the plague. Everyone is confused, constant madness, mixed patient symptoms up due to having other patients records up, wait time extremely long even when told no wait due to transfer from other hospital. Just a mess of a hospital! Honestly can’t believe Cary tolerates this hospital operating like this!
Dessie Clark: Everyone was really nice and professional. Very informative with info. Two things I do have complaint about. First is nurse starting I’ve deleted like needle going to arm pit. Was digging and really painful. Could tell from angle she was starting from she was going to miss. Crystal came in and started right away with minimal discomfort.Anesthesia not happy with. Throat still sore from tube. Never had sore throat in past. Used propofol and have had multiple times with surgeries and colonoscopies. NEVER had injection of it hurt so badly. Someone didn’t know how to do. Would highly suggest some education and at least 40 mg lidocaine before injecting. It has never bothered me at all I the past. Thank you. Dessie Clark
Rob Scherer: Great care, great staff. Short ER wait time.
Latasha M: This the most worst hospital I ever encountered in my hold life . I brought my daughter here and they basically didn’t care for her properly. It’s like she was getting more sicker by being in there care . We was there for 8 to 9 hours waiting on bloodwork to come in and they just kept coming taking blood from my daughter smh 🤦🏽‍♀️, The nurse we had was very disconnected and show know caring what’s so ever. I regret letting my daughter go here never again!!!!!
Aymane Zeydan: I can’t understand what makes this hospital this slow, I brought my brother for a foot injury that took us more than 6h that’s so terrible people are sick of waiting that long i never saw this slow service before please fix your process time
Sher B: I love this hospital. This is a 5 star hospital unlike that horrible Duke Regional in Durham. Michael who helped with the insurance was fantastic. The nurses treated me with dignity and respect. I was lucky to have the Physician Assistant Steven help me. He called my insurance company and made sure I got my medication. I wish this hospital was closer to home. This hospital is worth the hour drive. The bad reviews are angry patients who have nothing better to do than complain. They should go to Duke regional.DUKE REGIONAL HOSPITAL is THE WORST INCOMPETENT HOSPITAL IN NORTH CAROLINA.UPDATE :LAST WEEK I FELL BASHING INTO A METAL RAILING. I CAME BACK TO WAKE MED ER. I FELL BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE MY MEDICATION I'M ON FOR 27YRS FOR A BLACKOUT/ADHD CONDITION. I WAS MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY ABUSED BY DR. ERIC LEFEBVRE. I HOPE THIS DOCTOR WHO HAS NO EMPATHY GETS WHAT HE DESERVES. DOCTOR'S LIKE HIM RUIN IT FOR THE GREAT DOCTOR'S LIKE STEVEN BOYD. I KNOW THIS IS A GREAT HOSPITAL. UNFORTUNATELY THEY HIRED AN ARROGANT MONSTER WHO ABUSED ME. THANK YOU CARY POLICE OFFICERS.
Sharece Chiu: 7 hours, no answers, awful staff.Never again.

Cary Police Department: what do users think?
daniel drudge: in my opinion thank you for ling to me because of you I lost my job and your officer told me that I would not lose my job how das that cop know the piles for were I worked I told you that this will happen I will not ever call the police even if my life is in danger do trust them anymore it's because of this Cary pd
Brittney Wendt: Cary police department is efficient kind humble and helpful. They came into my office today to inform me of an event they are holding to help for Christmas. They truly help our community and protect us and I respect them greatly for all that they do.
Rob: Cary Police get a one-star in traffic enforcement. I’m in town visiting and I have never in my life see such negligence from drivers in this suburb with neglect of turn signal usage. I’m not talking one or two folks — it’s a massive safety issue and negligence issue here. How about enforcing it? All you need to do is drive behind folks and witness it for yourself. Start enforcing it before these selfish drivers create wrecks and so forth.
RainbowMeat: All the good reviews are written by cops and their families DO NOT trust them.
Questionable Actions: Beware of officer Southard he will slam you down on the bathroom floor and proceed to place his knee on your back. When the cameras are off watch your back, these officers are dangerous and can not be trusted.
Guy Johnson: MOST OUTSTANDING POLICE DEPARTMENT IN ENTIRE U.S.SPECIAL KUDOS TO SGT. ALEXANDER, PROFOUNDLY PROFESSIONAL! A PARAGON OF VIRTUE!LIKEWISE TO OFFICERS HERMAN AND — . BOTH EXHIBITED EXTRAORDINARY PATIENCE WHEN EXPLAINING ALL ISSUES EQUALLY TO BOTH THE ACCUSED AND ACCUSER!
Michael Boyle: Professional courtesy and genuine help last night when I was lost. Gentleman!!!
Jake Degen: They were very gentle when they placed the handcuffs on me, and the police cars are incredibly roomy. Overall, very professional. Would definitely get arrested by them again for sure!
evelyn chapple: I wish to thank Cary Police Department that showed up in about two minutes after I set my alarm and did not totally close my door. I feel very comfortable with CPD on the alert and apologize for taking up their valuable time. We appreciate your diligence keeping Cary safe. Evelyn Chapple E Dynasty Drive.
Janessa: I would give 5 stars due to Jennifer the dispatcher whom helped me tremendously but the officer that was dispatched didn’t even want to step in my home after I asked him to come in so bugs won’t fly in.The officer told me he couldn’t do anything and I’d have to wait until morning to go to the courthouse.A man telling a mother that he can’t do anything about getting her daughter back home since 11am because child custody isn’t in place. How can a man understand what I could be going through. And yet they still don’t know where she is.
Praveen Sriram: Never received a speeding ticket even though I have been caught speeding at least 4 times in the past 7 years. I am very grateful they decided to only give warning instead of write a ticket and hopefully I learned my lesson and always drive at or around the speed limit. Also very helpful in domestic situations and not quick to make judgments or arrests. I highly recommend the Cary PD. Had been working with them since moving to NC in August 2000 17 years ago.Update (5/7/19)- really helps with domestic situations in a seriously troubled dysfunctional family. They showed up at our house twice in one day.
Henry Patrick: I moved to Cary after 20 years in downtown Raleigh. Been here five years. Cary is a great town to live and work in. It is an active, family oriented community full of good hard working people. CPD seems to be fair and honest. Cary is not an island and is used as a "cut thru" from Durham to Raleigh. Most of the crime in this town is caused by people that do not live here or have respect for their community and neighbors. If these folks fear CPD..Great. Keep up the good work. The real citizens have your back.
rntolaw: They really are excellent and speak to you no matter what the problem is. They seem to respond quickly. we have a great force.
Proofing You Write: Beware of officer Preston. He is highly aggressive and dangerous.
Douglas Shaw: Thank you to all First Responders who serve and protect. Cary is known as one of the safest places to live, and these fine men and women are a major reason why. Thank you and please stay safe.
David C: Thanks for keeping our community safe! Whenever I'm elsewhere in the Triangle (especially Raleigh or Durham), I rarely see a police presence. But that's not so in Cary. I've been pulled over by Cary PD before and the officers have been courteous, whereas when I lived in Raleigh, they were disrespectful.
Elizabeth Hochstrasser: Random Acts of Kindness! Thank you to the Cary Police Officer who paid for our dinner in the Chick fil a drive thru. Cary Police are constantly serving our community is so many ways and we are so grateful!
Minhaj Choudhury: I was very prompt service. The officer was very kind & helpful.
Ficherman A: We had occasion to request a visit over the weekend to intervene, counsel and inform in a fast developing family situation. Three police cars parked quietly on our street within minutes, and a quiet, defining visit followed. Officers, led by a member of the CIT team were calm, patient, interactive and definitive as to the law. Their intervention led us to a constructive resolution, in the days following, with a younger member of our family.
Shellerz: I called the cops to let them know my neighbor had returned and previous cops asked I give a call if he’s ever seen again so I did. The cop that responded said I’m a nosy ass neighbor, excuse me for reporting the person who assaulted a child. Do your job or get out of law enforcement.
Amanda Bennett: CAN WE PLEASE DO SOMETHING AVOUT THE SPEEDERS ON HIGH MEADOW DR?! My fiancé and I have called your traffic department multiple times with no response, left messages, and I even posted a video on facebook and tagged you in it so you can see! Kids play on the shoulders, people ride bikes, and WE walk our dog on this road! IT SHOULDN'T FEEL LIKE WERE WALKING DOWN A HIGHWAY! Can someone please reapond to us,why doesn't our safety matter to you!?

UNC Hospitals: what do users think?
Brandi Prew: My husband spent 4 nights in this hospital and we had some of the sweetest nurses. Janelle, Ruth and Dounya in 5 west are angels in scrubs. They made our time here so much easier and I can’t thank them enough.
Brandon Rgo: Once they clock out they do NOT care if you die the next second. Please choose a different hospital. Walking around with mean mugs and disrespectful tones and ugly attitudes to match all the ugly people in that establishment!!
Kindra Duncan: Thank you UNC Health Chapel Hill for everything you have done over the years to help me. I never have a problem with any of the doctors that work with the team. I'm thankful for the knowledge that they do everyday. People have their reasons for certain doctors and hospitals they like but I prefer UNC Health Chapel Hill.
Rich Feldman: EDIT: This first paragraph concerns the most recent issue April-June 2023. The second paragraph was posted in 2022:For anyone using UNC health care providers I strongly suggest you look very carefully over all of your medical bills, past, present and future. The UNC business office is losing patient's insurance records and sending patients bills without going through insurance. I messaged UNC business office through MyChart concerning a bill, and they never replied back for two weeks at which point I called them and they told me they did not have insurance records for my wife and I, even though most previous bills 'were' processed through our insurance, and we never had a lapse of insurance. The office rep insisted we had no insurance, so I had to go through Patient Relations to discuss. Funny thing, 30 minutes after my call with PR, the bill disappeared from MyChart; assuming their business office 'found' our insurance and are now submitting. So be very careful, examine the details of every bill before paying, and you might want to check all your past bills as well. If it happens with us, most likely it is happening to other patients as well, so be careful.UNC billing department repeatedly double bills me for payments made on the date of service for a reoccurring medical treatment, and then includes legitimate bills for other services added to the already paid bill, so I am unable to break out and pay the legitimate bills and have payments earmarked for the legitimate date of services. When I tried calling UNC billing on 9/27/21 and explained this problem, I was rudely hung up on, and I know I was hung up on because billing never called me back to resolve. I have mailed a letter to the president's office that was ignored; I filed a complaint with the NC Attorney General's office. I would go to another doctor's office to avoid UNC's terribly unprofessional and incompetent billing department but the treatments are from a specialist only accessible through UNC in this part of the state. Also, the doctor and staff are excellent, it is too bad they have to work with UNC billing. UNC will reply with: "We are sorry that anyone has had a less than ideal experience with us, please contact Patient Relations". I have a BETTER idea, just FIX THE PROBLEM, and instruct your unprofessional billing staff NOT TO HANG UP ON PATIENTS!
CathyDavis924: I REPEAT, I REPEAT DO NOT PUT YOUR FAMILY MEMBER AT THIS HOSPITAL!!! THE SOCIAL WORKERS AND MANAGEMENT TEAM ARE EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! THEY PUT MY LOVE ONE AT RISK FOR HARM. I WILL NEVER LET ANOTHER FAMILY MEMBER OF MINES EVER BE ADMITTED HERE. THEY LACK SKILL, COMPASSION, BREAK LAWS, HAVE TERRIBLE ATTITUDES, UNPROFESSIONAL, INSENSITIVE, UNMORAL, AND I COULD GO ON AND ON. I AM DISGUSTED WITH THIS LEVEL OF CARE. AND SINCE REVIEWS DONT MATTER DIANE BUNCH LETS SEE HOW YOUR EMPLOYER FEELS ABOUT THIS ONE!
Erin Payne: I have never felt less human than when I was seen at the UNC emergency department. I waited six hours to see a doctor, and I had kidney stones which is incredibly painful. I was not given pain medicine until after the doctor came in and then was immediately discharged. My nurse was incredibly rude and unprofessional. UNC hospitals is the most poorly run hospital I have ever been to. I am ashamed to go to a school where the medical care is so horrific.
OakTree Brannon: I've been sitting here in excruciating pain for several hours and the RUDE way the admitting nurse kept interrupting my answers to the training nurses questions you'd think they were in a rush to see me ..NOPE. I got here YESTERDAY!! STILL WAITING!!
Alex Skeen: went there to detox after a while of heavy drinking due to mental health crisis, and after admitted, i received nothing but the most polite, best treatment possible by doctors and nurses with impeccable bedside manors
JeanAnn Cline: My daughter was emotionally abused accused of carrying a switch blade. Maybe because she was a white female.
Garland Woolard: Awesome
Maxine Package: Physicians were knowledgeable and showed care and concern. Nursing staff, on the other hand, were negligent, poorly trained, lacked compassion, and nonattentive. As long as the patient didn't need them, they were friendly. Once they became in need of nursing attention after a Surgical procedure their inability and lack of desire came out. I've worked and have been a patient in multiple hospitals across the United States. This is by far one of the worse. And their semi private rooms in this day and age of covid, super bugs, homelessness, and influx of immigrants with no documentation of vaccinations is unacceptable. Both of my roommates had infectious transmittance diseases. Being a nurse for over 45 years in the capacity of staff, management, educator, supervisor I'm well versed in hospital care and protocol. The mistakes made by this nursing staff jeopardize my safety and health.
Celeste Mukoyama: The best and nicest advice I can give you is to advocate for whoever is in this hospital 24/7 . Don't waste time with patient relations or even trying to go higher above if you have ANY issues. Get your receipts and contact the people that can actually make a difference.
Frazelle Hampton: I would give negative 5 stars if it was an option. This is THE WORST service I've seen when it comes to hospital emergency room. I was waiting with a patient for HOURS that had high blood pressure. Her doctor sent her here and we sat and sat and sat. People came in after her and was called back before her. Is this how you treat patients with medical issues???
sabavath ravi: Hospital service is very very good and doctors also superHappy srirama navami
Daniel Mason: We trusted UNC with the delivery of our baby, and we are thrilled with the care that we received. The expertise of the staff was apparent, and the nurses and lactations teams were superb. They treated our family so well and were extremely flexible when it came time to be discharged. I recommend them without reservation.
Bruce Overman: Plan on a time of 30 to 45 minutes to park and walk the 1/4 to 1/2 mile from the parking deck to the main entrance (101 Manning Dr.). Further, there is a line outside of the hospital that takes 10-20 minutes to check in (either as a patient or a visitor).UNC Health in Chapel Hill is a teaching hospital. Know that you will be evaluated by students under the supervision of doctors, with no consideration of the severity of your condition. After a procedure that lasted 3 hours, I never saw the surgeon who performed the operation - only medical students.I think of this hospital as a chaotic environment, constantly under construction and flux.My results were okay, but I would not recommend UNC unless you have no other options.Edit:It was much more than "less than ideal". I nearly had my leg amputated and never saw my surgeon. I don't appreciate a response that lessens my concerns. Your PR department may need to freshen their standards.
Marvin L: UNC Hospital system. Oxygen tank, Lavage and medicine.
Donald Kennedy: Patient and patient husband assaulted by staff and its on video. Staff has tried numerous way to hide and dismiss concerns from patient and her husband. Staff accused someone in obvious pain of drug seeking which is on video. Staff neglected in helping patient anytime they were asked. Staff also falsified patients medical records. Be very careful of this hospital.
who_dat_is_ T.T: UNC saved my wife's life. From top to bottom, they were there for her. From the moment we walked In the front door John Rush made sure she was comfortable and safe, and helped me through the everyday life of dealing with her cancer. Her doctors, PAs, nurses, and all staff where awesome and we can't thank you enough for how awesome you all are!!
david jones: I have already been escorted out of this hospital once. And if I said why you would agree with me slinging a Dr. over a table. Tonight wasn't any .better. Do tor prescribed antibiotic but went to lunch before giving it. What's another hour when you've been waiting 7 hours. I understand a doctor's schedule and their double shifts but how much do they make and for 10 extra minutes? The first experience was way worse and down right awful. A good parent would be in jail for manslaughter. Will never go back. GO DUKE
The End: there's not even enough room. Was in psych wards division a couple times years ago. Psych staff don't watch cases carefully, several are poorly equip by hospital, not familiar with responsibility, just trying to breeze through to next phase of their careers, and even try to twist perspectives of the patients with "mind games" or "redirection of thinking", one specific one smiling at me when doing so and not caring about provoking an episode from. Division admins focus on "misbehavior" and real or nonexistent crisis in very archaic, biased way that doesn't fit, recoil from patients in many senses, and are irresponsible, either reactive or uninformed, with measures and "treatments". "Seclusion rooms", referred to in kids' unit as "time-out rooms", is used more like the no matter age, most often out of slights or when the patients are in serious need of being quelled by communication. Treating the patients like "brats" and "dangers", being aggressive, threatening, taking personally, snickering, mocking, laughing and more evades problems and creates more problems in self-fulfilling prophecies. They're so clueless and contradictory about it, switching between moods and expressions with a sense of content or thrill or unrealistic expectation, demeanors like living in alternate worlds. Same unit walking a 'dangerous kid" by the hood of a sweatshirt to one of rooms just for refusing to stay in sleeping quarters, or another "unpredictable" kid by wrists and ankles while crying, cold turkeys patients. Same unit splitting genders to prevent sexual violence more than struggles with gender identities, but one staffer look through curtain while I showered when I was on suicide watch, another threatened me after accusing me of being "threat" and made me "stand up, look in eye, uncross arms". THEY had problems when WE used "bad words" that weren't even cussing! Not discounting the medical actions without warrant or consent that was only fraudulently recorded as such, details I won't elaborate for patients to speak for themselves. Serious need for legal action and penalties, down to arrests and convictions in numerous regards, with serious reparations and overhauling to boot, especially if years later severity is as bad today if not worse.
