Laura's Language Lessons: what do users think?
nandita qa: Ms. Laura is simply awesome and a wonderful mentor who genuinely loves to help her students to get better in language classes. My daughter did great in Spanish after taking classes from her! We feel so blessed to get connected with her!!
Shannon Shea: Never having had Spanish, my daughter was behind when she got to high school. Laura helped her gain more confidence and, ultimately, excel in the class. She is so kind, patient and absolutely wonderful to work with!
Lisa Lowrance: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMrs. Stark is an excellent teacher who fosters confidence, enhances knowledge and inspires enthusiasm for learning.
Betsy Reams _ Staff - SpecialEducationSvcs: Laura is the best! Our elementary-aged daughter has a passion for learning French and Laura has provided hands-on, developmentally appropriate activities to enhance her love of the language. Laura’s zest for teaching and inspiring young children was evident from day one. Our daughter looks forward to her class and is eager to share what she learned from each lesson. Her favorite part is that Laura always speaks to her in French, but interprets in English when needed.
Joe Reams: Laura has been tutoring me in French to help me better communicate with my French Corporate Colleagues. She is absolutely excellent at what she does. She has helped me with my pronunciation, grammar and basic spoken communications for professional purposes. I highly recommend Laura to any student or professional looking for a knowledgeable and practical tutor.
T Powers: Laura is an amazing teacher. My daughter had issues transitioning from middle school to high school Spanish. After a couple of weeks working with Laura, her Spanish grade quickly improved. My daughter was able to pick up better (fun) learning strategies from Laura that she was not able to get in school. This was a wonderful experience!
M. Jones: We began working with Laura in the middle of a difficult year of Spanish 3 in high school. An otherwise A student was in C/D territory due to a difficult teacher. In addition, my daughter’s enjoyment and desire for learning the language had been extinguished. Laura has been so kind, enthusiastic and wonderful. She jumped right in to help make up for lost time and we are already seeing an improvement in grades, as well as hope returning to our daughter’s spirit. We literally could not have navigated this difficult year without her.
Amy Propst: Laura is such a patient and kind tutor! My son nearly gave up on Spanish since his experience in middle school was so discouraging. Laura got him excited about it again and he ended up with an A for the year! I would thoroughly recommend Laura to anyone whose child needs extra help and encouragement learning a language. She really knows how to get the best from her students. I wish I had had her as my tutor when I was a teen!
Nicole Hagan: I have had the pleasure of knowing Laura for 25 years. At Saint Mary’s, when I served as Foreign languages Department Chair, I had the opportunity to work closely with her and observe her classes. Her excellent teaching methods, her caring attitude for her students, and her command of the French language were most impressive. My friendship with Laura has enriched my life and it is a great pleasure to highly recommend her as a wonderful teacher.Nicole Hagan
Stephanie Alphin: Laura is my 14 year old son’s Spanish tutor. She is AMAZING. He has brought his grade up from a C to an A while working with her. The other day he said “Mrs Stark is not just my tutor, she’s my friend “. He loves his hour with her because she makes it fun and interesting. I cannot say enough, there are not enough accolades. If you are considering Laura , just do it. You will not be disappointed!
Brynn Oliver: Laura is amazing! She helps me understand large concepts of Spanish grammar by using fun and easy learning tools. Her background teaching experience makes her an amazing tutor who really understands what it is like to be a student. She also makes lessons extremely rewarding by providing a fun learning environment where it is encouraged to ask questions.
Kathryn Kabat: Have really enjoyed learning the French language with Laura! I have had several French language teachers in recent years, and have discovered that speaking the language fluently is not enough, the teacher must know how to teach it! What a difference that makes to a student!Laura has that gift, and is very good at tailoring lessons to each students needs. I especially appreciate her patience, her careful enunciation and attention to my pronunciation, which has always been difficult with other teachers, who perhaps have not had as much experience with the language. If you want to learn in a fun environment without undue pressure, Laura is the teacher for you!
Vickie Posey: If there’s such a thing as a natural born teacher, Laura Stark is that person. I taught with her for over twenty years at Saint Mary’s and was always impressed with the connection she had with students. She truly loves what she does and lights up when she talks about teaching. My daughter was in Laura’s French class, and after twenty years says that Mrs. Stark is still one of the best teachers she ever had. Laura was a wonderful colleague at Saint Mary’s and is a kind, caring, generous person. I don’t think one could find a better tutor.
Karl Brenneman: I met Laura via a friend of mine and she has been tutoring my daughter in French for several months. After the first visit my daughter told me she learned more from Laura in that first visit than she had in her high school French class for the past couple months combined. I couldn't be happier with choosing Laura to help my daughter with her French. Merci!
Jolene Unland: I have enjoyed Laura’s French Language Lessons for over a year now. I’m a busy professional in my middle 40s who loves French wine and food, and I have several French colleagues. Laura looks to really understand the learning style of the student - mixing in traditional book approaches, in person question and answer and using online tools to keep learning exciting. Learning French basics from Laura has helped me be a more confident traveler, both as a solo female traveler and with my husband.
Gerald Monroe: Laura is an exceptional language teacher. Through her years of experience she has honed very effective methods. Laura instills a love of language and makes learning enjoyable. When my daughter was touring St Mary’s where Laura taught for years we asked about language. Our guide’s face broke out in joy and she said “you HAVE to have Ms. Stark!” That says it all.
Lydia Keeney: Laura is a dedicated and thoughtful tutor. She makes the process of learning a new language fun. I highly recommend her!

Raleigh French Instruction: what do users think?
Keya Pothireddy: The Raleigh French Institute helped me learn french quickly. I wanted to learn french at school, but didn't get accepted. So, I decided to take lessons outside of school. I loved it here! The classes are small, so the teacher can have more one-on-one time with you. I quickly began to learn french and now I have learned more than the kids at school!I would recommend coming here to enhance your love of french!
