Kristen Rathman: I had some iron railroad ties from an old Panama Canal railroad, and several pieces of old wood also from Panama that used to be my grandfathers. In the 70s he used to make book ends out of them and sell them. When I found that there were still pieces left ( sitting in attics and garages for 50 years), I wanted to finish the project for him. Craig was so great, he was able to recreate the bookends the same way my grandfather had made them and then even better. This was a sentimental project for me and I know my mom and grandfather are going to be excited to get a set.
