Thomas Lotrecchiano: It’s a 4 star course but the experience was 5. Good pace, nice greens and fairways.
Gary Olhoft: The greens were in quite good shape, but the fairways had sparse grass in many spots. It has been dry recently so many of the tea boxes were hard. The course has quite a number of challenging holes
Absolute Entertainment: I don't know if it's the green roof i'm getting better but I love this club period great people fun atmosphere nice pudding green nice driving range can't wait to try the course
Jeffrey Ribak: My wife and I played here on Mother’s Day. This was the first time we were told that it would be cart path only due to the course being dry. We could understand about to wet, but to dry. Really!! Made for a much longer round than it needed to be.

m broughton: played 1st april '23. this used to be one of the nicer places to golf but it really went downhill. the tee boxes were legit mud. it's a cool layout tho.
Everett Bruce III: Not much to choose from in Cary unless you are a member somewhere but this course is nice for the price. Like most places they only seem to use range mats and a few need replacing. Staff is always amazing and the grill has great food and tv. Eat inside or outside. Membership is reasonable price. Only drawback is the course does not drain as well as others after rain.

Daniel N: Fun layout and above average greens, but the course is in horrible condition. Impossible to hit chip shots and ended up just using my putter everywhere within 40 yards (4 handicap)Paid $55 for a round and it was a complete waste of money. The ranger was also very rude and told us to hit when the group in front was well within range.
NC Man: Was there today. Hated that I had to give up my cart and share another person's. Covid is still raging and to put together 2 unknown in close proximity for several hours ( 5 hours actually) is irresponsible. Pace of play was really slow due unusually higher number of walkers - who probably decided against the cart option for the same reason. It does not make sense as there were a huge number of carts available. This is a show stopper for me. I never want to share cart again and there never will play at Lochmere again.
Kevin: Embarrassing golf course. The fact they are charging full price for a field full of mud and water with no grass is insane. Have fun hitting every shot fat.

Jason Leymeister: It’s a shot makers course! The greens are challenging and WiILL change dramatically from hole to hole. The drainage issues are much better, but you can still find yourself in a swamp 2-3 days after a mild to moderate rain event.
John ‘Chachi’ Baiocco: I’ve played this course before. 60+ Degrees and sunny and the course is closed, but never once called to cancel tee times or inform us of the closure. Family in town wanting to golf with nice weather. Absolutely zero customer service or consideration.
Chad C: I had a great time out this past week. The greens were in fantastic shape. Well maintained and rolling true. Most tee boxes were in good shape.Tee time was booked at $50 but when. I arrived, they knocked $10 off without asking due to Cart Path Only in place for the day due to significant rain day before. Gotta love the honesty and respect for our money. Both pro and starter were polite but serious "I wanna see all 4 wheels on cement". I respect that. These guys work hard to keep their course playable all year.I'm not a member due to my work and kids getting in the way of regular golf, but this is definitely a place I would consider being a member.

Scott Williams: Played golf here at a organizational golf tournament. Swanky clubhouse and very nice course.Edit: Played here again yesterday at another tournament. Man this course is excellent. Great to perfect shape. 5 stars.Edit: played here again on 6-26-2023 on the 'Fairway' course. Tees and greens are great. Grass on fairways was a little thin.Overall still an amazing club.

Jeff Philips: The setting at this location is absolutely astounding! I have been attending an event there for the last 10 years. While the service was OK, it was not outstanding as it had been in the past. This is the reason why I did not make this a 5 star review. I understand that the building was sold and is now under new ownership. The new staff was not nearly as accommodating as the previous staff. I certainly hope this isn't a sign of things to come. If so, I will let you know.

Randy Rich: One of the best courses in the triangle.
Tanicia C: Enjoyed a beautiful evening here for an event. Lovely staff, good food, clean and spacious.
Thumper Hines: Attended a conference here. The facility was cozy, the food service was prompt and fresh, and the ladies' restroom was spacious and CLEAN. Looking forward to the next visit.
Charlene Wicker: This course I am sure would be much better in season. However for the time I was there they had just sanded the greens and the shots would not hold on the greens nor hold the line of your putt. Plus the fairways were scarce of grass .Again due to the season. But still not much fun. Can't wait to play in warmer weather and better conditions

Kathy Lynch: MacGregor Downs CC is an amazing place to enjoy an active lifestyle. The Golf Course is truly spectacular and you will enjoy playing it whether you are a high handicapper or scratch golfer! The view from the 18th tee box is unmatched in the Triangle. If tennis is your thing there are 8 clay courts as well as hard courts too. Sitting right on MacGregor's lake you have a spectacular view to enjoy your favorite beverage after your match! I know my family and my clients have enjoyed everything the Club has to offer and the food is yummy too. If you want a club that feels like family come join us!
