William Chen: ---Food: Overall 2 out of 5---- Baos: This was a decent bao, a 4 out of 5.- Lobster Buns: Basically a lobster roll but using buns, so it wasn't anything spectacular, 3 out of 5.- Cauliflower: Overly salted, felt like they were trying to kill me with sodium, 1 out of 5- Tuna: It was close to $18 for 4 extremely small & thin slices of regular tuna - wasn't even fatty tuna. You can order better quality nigiri a la carte at a nicer Japanese restaurant for the same price. 1 out of 5.- Yellow Chicken Curry: Everything was good till we ate the arugula, they overly salted the arugula as well. 2 out of 5---Service: 1 out of 5---So we booked through open table, and I mentioned it was for my wife's birthday, and requested a small birthday dessert with a candle at the end.We got to the restaurant, the front host asked what the occasion was for - I said for my wife's birthday. After we sat down, one of the waitresses pouring us water asked what the occasion was for again, and I repeated it was for my wife's birthday. Then our primary waiter came, and asked what the occasion was for... again. And I said it was for my wife's birthday (I kept a very happy attitude still). At the end after we were done, no desserts came, just the dessert menu. I asked the waiter if there's any complimentary small birthday desserts we can have for my wife's birthday, and this was his response word-for-word:"Yes we have small truffles that we can give her, but that usually comes on the side when you order a dessert."Now I've been to a LOT of nice restaurants with prices similar to Kō An's, and I'm always a pretty generous tipper so this isn't me trying to be stingy. Every birthday meal I've taken my wife too, the restaurant has always provided her with a complimentary small birthday dessert. This was legitimately the first time a restaurant refuse a birthday dessert by saying "I'm not giving it to you unless you order another dessert on the side". We felt this was extremely unprofessional.
Diane Brown: Food ok. Small dishes to share are mostly really small. Steak was well portioned but chewy. Spicy chicken dish was good but not as spicy as you would expected. Service was excellent.Parking: Shops and other retail around so parking is not a problemWheelchair accessibility: Everything is ground level and tables can accommodate a wheelchair
Carrie Miller: It's a beautiful restaurant with great service. It's a good place to take a large group because there's a lot of space. The food is good but I would say for the prices it doesn't stand out against other Asian eateries in the area. (comparing with Juju in Durham, MOFU or Brewery Bhavana in Raleigh).Poke tasted kind of fishy, and didn't come with any rice. The baos are more like dumplings (though they still tasted very good). Cauliflower appetizer was good, but like a less spicy gobi Manchurian.
Sophia Alexandria: I enjoyed this place. It has a very nice environment. This could be a very nice romantic spot. I ordered The Vietnamese Fried Shrimp. I really loved these. It came with a dipping sauce which complemented it very well. It was a nice, sweet and tangy flavor with a bit of spice. Just the right amount. I will definitely order those again. I ordered the Korean Bibimbap. The steak was cooked and flavored nicely. The egg was perfect. The kimchi was some of the best kimchi I've ever had. It had a really spicy sauce on it. It was a pinch spicier than I would have liked but overall it was very good. For cocktails, I ordered the Ricketty Ginny. I like that one and it was nice with the shrimp. I ordered the seasonal cocktail called the Bitter Becky and it was nice. It was bitter but finished with a sweetness. I loved how it was bitter and then sweet. It wasn't bad for a bitter drink. I am not a sweet drinker but I would say not bad. Becca was our server. She gave good service. I will be back for sure, especially for tge Vietnamese Fried Shrimp. You should check it out!Parking: Open parking. First come- first served.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Jana Marx: Overall a disappointing experience. I ordered the miso udon and it was so spicy, I could only eat a couple of bites. The sparkling rosé was very nice and we enjoyed both the liquid chocolate and s’mores desserts. We sat on the patio which was nice, but there is a surprising amount of road noise. The service was just ok. I think we would have had a better experience if we had ordered small plates.
K Samana: If we had gotten a variety of small plates to share we may have had a better experience. I had planned on getting Bibimbop (Koren BBQ) until they said it didn’t come in a hot stone bowl (which is a key component so the rice gets crispy) so I went with the ribeye- which I wouldn’t normally get unless I was at a steakhouse, but it looked great in the pictures. And it was good. It’s mildly seasoned, but the butter on top and the spicy sauce on the side adds a nice flavor. The fingerling potatoes were good, but they were on a bed of puréed sweet potatoes (that tastes like baby food) and didn’t have much flavor and certainly didn’t add to the dish (potatoes on potatoes?!?) the salad was just taking up room and the dried radish (?) added nothing to the dish. My dining companions udon noodles were too spicy to eat (and she likes spice)- and there was no warning on the menu. The dessert bites were delish - a little burst or flavor that reminded of a Michelin course. Both deserts (liquid chocolate and s’mores) were good. If you are looking for something fruity and a little lighter, I’d go with the liquid chocolate. But the chocolate squares in the s’mores was divine.
Shinya A: The food here was very good and the ambiance of the place is very nice. It does have a business class feel to it and is also good for a date night meal.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Ribeye Tataki, Korean Bibimbap, Lettuce Wraps …More

S Tam: This place is too much.....in a great way! It's deceiving from the outside, the restaurant is very large inside with several indoor and outdoor areas. The separation of these areas makes dinner feel intimate while allowing the restaurant to seat many guests. This is farm to table with a seasonal menu. The drinks were fabulous!!!! We tried every one of the speciality drinks, Rickety Ginny was our favorite, the dragon fruit makes it a bright purple color. Super fun. We enjoyed several small plates including himachi crudo, cauliflower, lobster buns, bao, poke and tuna truffle roll. Every one of the small plates was unique, carefully prepared with small details in seasoning and garnish and tasted FABULOUS! The chef has perfected southeast Asian with a fusion of unique flavors that play on your palate. For dinner we had the Thai red curry which is an explosion of fresh seafood and the Korean BBQ which is perfectly marinated hanger steak in a bowl with lots of fun ingredients to mix in. For dessert, we had PX dessert wine which perfectly paired with freshly baked cookies and the best carrot cake I've ever eaten. I'm not sure what the chef did with the sweet brine for the beets that garnished the cake, but those were next level unique and tasty. We will definitely be returning soon!
Leighton Ashley: Vegetarian options: Exceptional presentation and fantastic dishes. The best carrot ever! We had a wonderful dinner parry.

Sudhir Kolli: Good place..great service.. friendly folks all over. Wish the food was better.. Fried rice was bit too lumpy..and the chicken pieces were bit large (thick).. not sure if they are fully cooked though.. May it's laotian style? Any case, not that impressed. The pork springrolls were good. Overall a decent place. . doubt i would go again esp., as i don't live here..new places to try. Locals could go back again..
Kendra Quinn: Our server was fantastic and the food was amazing ! Lettuce wraps , chicken curry and Shrimp pad thia! Brought out a special dessert for my birthday and palate cleanser shots ! Clayton Hoover: Recently I moved to Raleigh and had the chicken fried rice here, it was the best chicken fried rice I've ever tasted. For context I have had chicken fried rice on a weekly basis for the last 5 years of my life.On top of that, top knotch ambiance and delicious yet powerful drinks.Kid-friendliness: This is a fairly fancy place, please keep your kids at home, the last thing people want with a delicious meal is a screaming toddler nearby to ruin the ambiance. That being said there was a family with 3 children across the restaurant, so they're allowed, but speaking for most of society here, please don't.Dietary restrictions: Upon being seated the first question was any dietary restrictions or allergies?
Sania C: The best food! The cabbage rolls were the best. So refreshing and filling. The food was actually spicy and the Thai chili pepper lasted me the whole meal. The bartenders were so great. Much love to them! Had the cold rice and cold stir fry leftovers for breakfast the next morning, was still delicious.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Apurv Sharma: Bida Manda is a true culinary journey that tantalizes all the senses. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or new to Laotian cuisine, this restaurant will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression. The commitment to excellence, from the exquisite flavors to the impeccable service, makes it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a remarkable dining experience in downtown Raleigh
Sarah Olson: Bida Manda was fabulous! We had delicious lettuce wraps and sausage as starters that set the tone for a very tasty meal. The curry was one of the best I've had in the USA and the pork belly soup was amazing. The purple rice was a perfect dessert. Not too sweet.
Jazzy Lee: Lovely place to grab appetizers and dinner.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Sweet Chili Salmon, Chicken Wings …More
Marsha Simetra: The bartender easily answered a dozen questions about the menu and he immediately inquired about any dietary needs. With over a decade of experience, his drinks were delicious and well-balanced. The waitress quickly accommodated my request for extra spice and to go items with the most pleasant demeanor. I didn't give 5 stars for food because they do not substitute ingredients or show much flexibility in the menu. For atmosphere, there is an awesome classic ice shaver, bamboo ceiling, and altar, but not a genuine feel for Laotian culture and music. (I personally wouldn't bring kids.) The food itself is superb; I will return to taste other meals despite that the cost is a tad high for my preference. An appetizer, main course, and two drinks was about $70. In this instance, you are paying for higher quality that is worth it.
Nooshin Ghazi: Excellent food, service, and drinks. Drinks are generous andRecommended dishes Chicken Wings, Green Papaya Salad …More
Abhishek Singhal: Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Zeba Darvesh: This is our favourite go to place over weekends. We enjoy the papaya salad, crispy summer rolls and the grilled chicken here. It is my go to dishes. The ambience is calm and peaceful.
Anne Zhao: I gave 5 stars to my past experiences, 3 for this visit. The crispy trout used to be my favorite, but way too salty tonight. The pork rib stew was okay, nothing special. Not a fan of their crispy pork belly soup, I will stick to the sea bass mok next time.Recommended dishes Crispy Rice Lettuce Wraps, Sea Bass Mok, Shrimp Chips …More
