Laser Eye Center of Carolina: what do users think?
Caleigh Tyler: I called this office in an absolute panic, needing a ophthalmologist to do a dilated eye exam for an out of state combat sports waver. It HAD to be an ophthalmologist not a optometrist. I called so many places before and got short answers and brushed off. I know what I was asking for was a specialist who at other places only does surgery or is booked out for months but I was desperate and discouraged. While I explain my needs on the phone to Jasmine she was so calm (I was a bit panicked), so helpful, and so understanding. She made me feel like she actually cared and wanted to help me. She took my scatterbrained burnt out thoughts in stride and was super patient with me on the phone. She was just an absolute pleasure to work with and luckily she was able to get me set up with an appointment. Jasmine is worth twice her weight in gold. She’s absolutely amazing. I appreciate her eagerness to help!
Sophia: I had the worst experience with the male technician at the clinic. I wanted to get my eyesight remeasured before ordering the ICL lenses, clearly this technician is upset about me making him do the extra work and was very unhappy. He first complains that I came back again to the clinic. Then he scolded me for peeking at my phone for one second when he makes my chin stay on the testing station for long time while he is typing in the computer. When I questioned his attitude, he claimed that he was upset because I doubt his previous work. This is beyond absurd. What kind of technician work attitude is that. As a patient, you as a provider technician’s happiness is the least of my concern! You should never treat your patient with such rudeness just because you are upset. Secondly, I have every right to make sure my eyesight is measured accurately so my lenses could be ordered correctly because they cost $4000 each eye. There is absolutely nothing wrong doubting the measurement and want them to be remeasured. He clearly doesn’t know how to do his job and is not happy with what he is doing, and thinks he is above the patients and their needs. His arrogance and unprofessionalism is unseen any where else. I don’t doubt Dr. Sonic’s skills doing the surgery. But I am certainly not comfortable of having my eyes being taken care of by such a rude, shallow and incompetent technician. This technician either should quit or get professional technician training before treating another patient. Taking care of eye patients is not serving in a fast food restaurant. You are responsible for someone’s eyes!
P C: Non responsive when trying to request an appointment.
Portia Rpgrs: One of the best places for eye health! Pam & Jasmine are amazing. Ask for them when you go :)
Steve Thorburn: Dr. Dornic is great, has contact implants provided about ten years ago. My lens were too thin for laser surgery. This summer, I developed a cataract in my left eye. I had surgery in Sept and had a pressure issue in the first checkup. They had me come back two more times to look at it. My last checkup was to be today. 1/5/22 - low and behold, when I called to confirm, they did not have my appointment. Suddenly, the front office stated, I did not need to show up. They did not have my appointment scheduled. One star is for his front office.- They sent me to an out-of-provider medical center for the surgery. They used an out-of-provider anesthesiologist for the surgery. This was after I asked about the cost. I ended up paying 80% of the 5000-dollar bill vs. 10%.- We had issues with prescriptions not being called in for the pressure in my eye because of the surgery. Had to call the Doc to get the drops to control the pressure. It was the end of the day, and they just dropped it.- Today, when we start dealing with the "missing appointment," which they do not have me on the books for one at all. The first response was... do not have it. Subsequent response after I pushed back was that it is after 90 days, so we will have to charge a new co-pay. The third response was, " Oh, you do not need it " Then why did the Dr. want to see me after my Nov checkup. The deal was one cost for all the follow-ups. When I pushed back again, the office manager said, "well, the pressure was an issue before surgery. " no, it was not; I responded it was a result of the surgery. So, my guess over the end of the year, the office manager reviewed the books, saw they had extra effort, and pulled a 90-day BS response.Dr. Dornic.... well played, you are a good surgeon, but your front office, the face of your business, would have to get better to SUCK. Got to love the ethics…..Buyer Beware.
mary mary: Dr.Dornic and assistant Eric are both great at their work! Just a reminder that if you have kids and doing laser eye surgery, have someone watch them and don’t bring them with you like I did. Make sure you have your drops at Hand on the day of surgery and don’t rely on the pharmacy you hardly ever use. Other than that, it’s had a great experience at the office setting! They helped me even for the unpreparedness of myself. :)
Patricia Hickman: I was turned down from the get-go for LASIK surgery by every LSK surgeon in Raleigh. I was well over 50. I researched the procedure until I was comfortable it would bring long term success. I'd been legally blind since age 10. Dr. Dornic's team provided me with resources and a keen understanding of what to expect. Dr. Dornic's confidence in my success put me at ease as a middle-aged candidate. The procedure went well, and I was already seeing my sight returning when I climbed off the operation table. 24 hours later I was reading tiny fonts on medicine bottles. For a lifelong sufferer of chronic eye infections due to contact lens wearing, and an eye doctor who warned me I was gradually losing more eyesight every year, my only choice was to put my eyesight health in Dr. Dornic's capable hands. It's now five years later, and I still don't need eyeglasses or readers. I'm now age 63 and love the miracle of eyesight through science and a highly skilled LASIK surgeon. Three cheers for Dr. Dornic!
Brandi P: My husband has been going to this office for years (prior to the current Dr). Had a flare up with his iritis and called to get rx refill sent to pharmacy over the weekend. When speaking with the Dr. via his emergency number he was adamant that my husband hadn’t been seen in the last 2 years although he had just been seen less than a year ago. The Dr. didn’t even bother looking at his information and informed my husband that he would need to come in for a visit (which was incorrect) Monday comes and my husband speaks with a lady who says his rx in fact is valid and could be called in once a technician comes in to send it over to the pharmacy and to call back around 1pm. After calling after 1pm the very very rude lady who answered informed my hubs and that the First Lady was “nobody in charge” and couldn’t make decisions and he still would need to wait until the next day to be seen. Working for an eye institute the rude lady should know the last thing a patient wants to do is go back and forth with you during a eye emergency. Mind you we called on Saturday for this eye emergency and he’s being told to wait until Tuesday smh. Needless to say he was seen elsewhere the same day. It seems that the surgical portion of this practice takes priority over routine and emergency appointments, a long time customer lost and I hope no one else ever has to go through this. Being a cash paying customer with such disregard and lack of customer service, it was a honor taking our business elsewhere.
Abderrahim Benbouida: Outstanding job Doctor . Excellent team keep up the good work. I recommend this Doctor and this facility.
Hannah Nowak: Overall - great experience! Dr. Dornic did a great job with my LASIK. It was nearly painless, quick recovery, few lasting side effects and 20/20 vision by the next day! Highly recommend LASIK surgery. My only negative experience has come recently. I paid by check for a cash discount and 90 days later, my check still hasn't been deposited (despite many phone calls to the office the past few weeks asking if they still have the check and if they would post it). It's a large amount of money to have to maintain in my checking account, so I'm getting quite frustrated and don't understand why no action has been taken.
Dave Baron: Dr. Dornic performed a cornea transplant on my left eye after discovering that the previous transplant (done 25 yrs. earlier by another doctor) was beginning to deteriorate. He also removed a cateract from the same eye. My vision has greatly improved. I'm so grateful for what Dr. Dornic has given me. I trust and recommend him!
Sofien Salmi: I recently got LASIK done here and I’m already seeing so much better. Highly recommend Dr. Dornic because of his incredible ability in his specialty. The staff were also extremely friendly and helpful.
Andrew Hogan: Okay, this is a full report 2 months post Lasik. I chose Dr Dornic after doing some research on other local providors. Despite all of Dr. Dornic's accolades and general advances in tech it's still LASERS IN YOUR EYES! I hesitantly made a consultation. After speeking with Dr Dormic I felt much better about the whole thing and what to expect after. Jenna the refractive coordinator def sold me on how worthwhile the procedure was having done it herself. The procedure itself was painless and much easier than anticipated. You'll be applying a lot of drops for the first week but otherwise I was seeing perfectly 48 hours post. Two months later my vision is better than 20/20! Waking up and simply being able to see is incredible. Please forgive typos was on mobile.
Galactal General: I got lasik done here and the procedure went very well. The doctor explained everything to me and answered all my questions. After, he have me plenty of free samples to help my eyes recover. It's been three months and I am overjoyed with the results. However, I had to take off a star because the wait times are atrocious. My appointment was at 4:15 and it's been an hour and I still have not been seen. This is not the first time this has happened either I think most of the staff is nice as well, but there is one receptionist who was kind of rude to my father and I. Other than that, this is a great place to go and I would recommend it.
K Fox: I just had my lasik done here and it was the best thing I've ever done! The staff was so kind and talked me through my nervousness and made me feel extremely comfortable throughout the entire procedure. I was talked through every step and knew exactly what to expect. I was seeing 20/20 by the very next day! I couldn't be happier.
Healea Dupuis: I went to 2 lasik consultations before going to Dr. Dornic. At previous places I waited for over 45 minutes before even being acknowledged. At Laser Eye Center, I sat down for maybe 3 minutes before being taken back for vision tests. I interacted with various staff members and they were are welcoming and friendly. After the tests and meeting with the Dr, I immediately sat down to speak about finances/scheduling. I made the appt right then and came back in for the procedure a few days later. Again, I walked in for the appt and didn’t even sit down in the waiting room; they were ready for me immediately. The staff knows this is a nerve wracking situation and all were so nice. The procedure took about 10 minutes and was virtually pain free. They give you a variety of eye drops to help with pain and healing. I got home, felt some discomfort and took the numbing drops. Woke up the next morning with nearly perfect vision. It takes a few days for your eyes to adjust and now I have 20/20. Highly recommend. They respect your time and were significantly cheaper than other places.
Brad Sliger: Lasik with Dr. Dornic was easily one of the best things I’ve done. He was very upfront with the information needed and performed my Lasik procedure perfectly. I woke up the next day seeing better than ever. From the first phone call knowing nothing about it, to setting up a consultation and getting the actual procedure done, it was all a wonderful experience. Eric was an awesome staff member. He was super nice and helpful. Very knowledgeable and on point during my initial consultation. He was also was just as consistent during my Lasik procedure alongside Dr. Dornic. Another awesome staff member Jenna handled all the questions I had. She was also super nice, helpful, very quick and ahead of the game. She was a big part in making my experience smooth and seamless. 10/10 would recommend Dr. Dornic and his staff to anyone looking to get Lasik.
Suz B: Dr. Dornic is a fine surgeon, and did a fantastic job with our cataract surgery and multifocal lens replacements. I only left 4 stars because he has serious issues with his staff. They do not return calls, and the payment was never made to the surgery facility. I am still getting statements and calls about making a payment. We did pay for all surgeries in advance (cash), and have notified Pam Dornic of our troubles, but almost 3 months later this still has not been resolved. It is troubling and annoying that this has not been taken care of in a timely manner. Pam Dornic seems to be the crux of their problem as we do not feel we were treated with the respect we deserved, and she acted as if it was a personal affront when she was questioned about billing issues. They need to bring a business consultant in to help them organize and optimize how their internal business is conducted. We cannot say enough about how good Dr. Dornic is though. we would give him more that 5 stars if we could.
Linda Soeder: Dr. Dornic has a 10 Star rating. I had my surgery in 2010 and have moved many places since that time. My right eye has a Crystalens and it is perfect, thanks to Dr. Dornic.
Terri Miller: Dr. Dornic did a great job with my Kamra Inlay. I needed a small correction and he took care of it right away at no extra charge. He has added staff so that appointments are on time.
Matthew Fahey: Went for a consultation and liked the facility. Will follow up when the time comes

Western Wake Eye Center P.A.: what do users think?
MJ R: if you want to butcher of ophthalmology go here. Dr Fleming shouldn't even deserve the title of doctor. he does two cataracts a month I wouldn't possibly send anyone I loved to him. his personal skills with people are atrocious. I suspect his surgical skills are the same way
Ed Bailey: I've entrusted my eyes to Dr. Fleming's care for the past thirty years. While that fact alone might be sufficient praise for some, I'd like to go into a bit more detail about why Western Wake Eye Center is the place for me.First and foremost, there's Dr. Fleming. He's businesslike but friendly -- a difficult mix to find these days! He's also incredibly knowledgable and detail oriented; for example, I have a somewhat unusual configuration of blood vessels in one eye. Dr. Fleming immediately identified this (something my prior eye care specialists had failed to do in the first thirty years of my life), and spent a bit longer examining it to ensure it posed no problem. Each time he always makes a point of checking it out -- in fact, earlier this week he commented on it: thirty years later! That kind of attention to detail is highly reassuring when it comes to your vision. Then there's the staff. From the women that greet you as you walk in, to Dr. Fleming's assistants, everyone is a pleasure to deal with. They're always ready to explain the details regarding billing and insurance issues or, in the case of David (Dr. Fleming's optician) to patiently work with you when it's time to select new eyewear from the wide variety of available styles. To summarize, Western Wake Eye Center -- and particularly Dr. Fleming -- are the only ones I'll trust to care for my eyes!
T Williams: I concur with the other reviews: Dr. Fleming is a superb practitioner. Also, we receive the very best service from the practice's optician, David (I don't know his last name). My wife and I drive all the way from the Brier Creek area to see these professionals, gladly.
Mike R: My wife Sandra and I have been patients of Western Wake Eye Center for several years now and we both have had cataract surgeries performed by Dr. Fleming.Dr. Fleming and staff treat their patients with respect and professional care. We highly recommend Dr. Fleming for the best eye care and surgical procedures.
