Total Log Cabin Restoration: what do users think?
Jassen Bury: Log cabins are tricky and slow but constantly moving targets. It was great to have a company willing to work with me to find the hidden source of each issue. Highly recommend!
S A: Had Total Log Restoration come out this morning to my Cabin in Wake Forest.Jason showed up on time and was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. I would highly recommend if you need a quote or work done.
Laurie Chandley: Complete sanding, cleaning, bee treatment, staining and repair/painting of caulking a little over three years ago. The price was in the middle of four quotes. Stu and his team did a great job in a week. They were professional, worked hard full days and were respectful of our property. Stu knows his stuff and allowed us to use the stain of our choice which three other quotes required Sickens. We wanted the original Sickens stain removed. I will 10/10 be using them again in four years!
Jim Milford: We just had our cabin in SC done by TCR. What a great job...attention to detail, right down to cleaning the windows.
Dan Yin, Ph.D.: It has been 2 years since Total Log Cabin Restoration stained my mountain cabin (in 2020). I think this is the time for the review. After acquiring the property 5 years ago (2017), I had been constantly thinking that the cabin need its major maintenance - staining. However, there were several factors holding my decisions: 1. The cabin was 3-story tall, standing over 40-foot at its peak; 2. The location was quite remote, deeply in Grandfather Mountain woods; 3. The job had to be handled by professionals, who knew what they were doing, and most importantly, who had to get the job done correctly. After contacting several contractors, Total Log Cabin Restoration stood out slowly. While other contactors were also very responsive and providing their valuable recommendations, Stu at Total Log Cabin Restoration provided in-depth quotes addressing issues, covering details, and providing options and solutions. During the quote stage, Ashlyn and Margaret at office were so helpful for answering questions regarding the up-coming financing and staining processes. This was the largest investment on maintenance, also it was the most uncertain personal project I had ever got involved (as I am very handy and always DIY all renovation projects by myself). Furthermore, I had no way to check the quality and had no knowledge if the stain could hold for future ....After 2 months of planning and waiting, William and his team showed up on the scheduled date. The actual working finally began, and lasted 1 week. It was the most assuring week I had gone thru. From very beginning in day one, I realized that William and his team members were hardworking professionals. They showed up early every morning, worked hard thru entire days, and most importantly, they never cut any corners. After finding out that the cabin needed more care, they went beyond the staining, and took extra steps for chinking and caulking. THEY WERE THE BEST!The cabin has gone thru 2 harsh winters. Every each time, when I looked the logs on the cabin, I had never been so assured that I was so happy and feel so “lucky” to choose Total Log Cabin Restoration. Thanks for Total Log Cabin Restoration, and specifically, thanks for William, Stu, Margaret, Ashlyn, ....
Tom Bohle: Very professional, efficient and knowledgeable. Will definitely have them re-stain when necessary. Have recommended to many and all are happy.
steve hollar: I had giving a review about 5 months ago about this log home restoration company since then they have gone out of their way to try and make things right after talking to them by email I have learned that this company has gone through a tough time with employees and especially office people and these are the people you talk to first Stu and his company did a great job on my house and even though there was a break down in communication I can assure you this is a very good company VERY PLEASED.
JACK HOWARTH: Exceeded our expectations as you can see here is a picture of the new roof going on after Total Log did their work our cabin looks better than new and it’s twenty years old! Highly recommended, don’t trust your log cabin to just some painters you want experience people to get your home in shape!
Susie Cavalier: They are not an ethical business. Get everything in writing beyond their contractThe owner Stu is as shady as they come.
Steve Helton: If you want a company to waste your time then this is the place. Came out to my parents house in June to give a estimate to do some repairs then set up a time in July to come to do the job,but in July called to reschedule for October then to call once again to reschedule for November 19th to call again on November 18th to say they couldn't do it at all and told them they should find someone else to do the job. Wasted 6 months waiting on them if you can't do what you say you will do then your not much of a company.
Joseph Carioti: id just like to say Stewart and his crew worked very very hard on my log home in north carolina, had to strip it completely down to bare wood again do the the poor workmanship of another log home maintenance company i had hired in the past. Stewart always answered my questions and rectified any concerns i had. i myself live in northern new jersey and will soon be heading down for final inspection of his completed work on my home once Stewart himself is satisfied that my home is complete.it is very very hard to find a company to trust these days but if you need one to trust then this is it!!! i personally run a family owned business, family owned and operated since 1937 my company and i as well as Stewart stand behind our workmanship
Harry Westall: I am extremely pleased with the services of Total Log Cabin Restoration. Stu, Jason and their team were extremely helpful from the initial consulting all the way to the finished product. Their price was very competitive and their knowledge of log cabin products is excellent. Their team replaced rotten logs and boards, cleaned, sanded, stained and caulked with the utmost care and attention to detail for the homeowner. Their clean-up was thorough as well. It was amazing to watch the life be restored to a 30+ year old log cabin so that it now looks brand new. Stu even provided best tips for maintenance and care! My family and I look forward to being life-long customers of Total Log Cabin Restoration. We can't thank them enough!
Corby Biddle: Had a great experience with total log cabin restoration, the owners and the crew are diligent and on top of everything, highly recommend them.
Tim Haritan: Stu and team did a fantastic job of restoring my 24 year old log home to look better than ever. The team power washed, sanded, caulked, applied many layers of stain, and painted all trim. The work was top quality and worth the investment.

Legacy Custom Homes: what do users think?
Prakash Narayan: We purchased from Legacy Custom Homes. Beautiful construction, attention to detail and engineering design that is going to be current several years from now. But what we are most pleased is with the follow up care the Legacy team has provided. They have been extremely responsive to all our requests and have remedied every aspect on the blue tape tour. Full marks to Zach who is the nicest person I have met, super responsive, prompt, extremely professional and polite.
South Carolina Vacation: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,Value
Jo Sc: A company that does not control their sub contractors and just another example of how developers are allowed to do what they want and not follow the rules. I’ve lived next to their development in downtown Raleigh for almost the last year now and it is disturbing how they’re allowed to have site sediment run off into the streets and into the city water drainage after any measurable rain. Loud music from their contractors played from 7am- 7pm most days. Contractors have worked well past the allowed 7:30pm city noise ordinance, and the Legacy custom home staff could care less. I’ve contacted the office a couple of times and was even told by them to call the police if it’s a nuisance. After they removed a section of a property dividing wall and damaged my landscaping the “site manager”, Alex, told me “it was just a few hundred dollars worth of plants”. They also told me they’d replace them, but never heard back. While I can’t tell you about their finished product, I can tell you the way in which they build tells a lot about how much they care about anything other than profit. As a downtown Raleigh resident for the last 3 years, I am extremely happy to see the city growth, however not at the expense of developers with no concern for their new neighbors, the environment, or consideration of others property. Please don’t buy from this company!
Katherine “Dutchess” Henderson: Nice
Inamullah Bhutto: They have good plans
Despina Viniotis Curtis: i cannot say enough about how AMAZING legacy is -- ward, donald, leigh, everyone was a dream to work with and their knowledge, craftsmanship and quality is beyond comparison, and we've experienced many other companies, both local and national and have seen it all. i sincerely love + adore them and this home they built so much, that if we were to ever move again it would be to start all over with legacy (and it would have to be with donald at the helm again because he's a building rockstar)!!
Terri Perry - Triangle, NC REALTOR -: I've represented many builders over the years and I can tell you that Legacy Custom Homes is a GREAT builder. All of their staff are wonderful folks who understand both sides of the building process- and that's important. Will Borden, one of the Field Managers for Legacy, is absolutely phenomenal to work with - both from a Realtor's perspective - and the Buyer's !
Jayme Clarke: I am a home inspector and licensed general contractor and have inspected quite a few of their homes. I have no affiliation with them, am not friends with any employees, etc. I can tell you that I've been very impressed with all of their houses I've inspected thus far. Tremendous attention to detail. Keep up the good work!
luis villalobos: Nice houses
Jen Foster: Upon purchasing, Legacy was wonderful, of course. Now, it has been 6 months from our 1 yr follow up and warranty review and we are still waiting to get some work done. We have rearranged our work and childcare schedules at least 15 times, have completely been stood up by the contractors on multiple occassions. The workers come to our home with no supplies to complete the work and we have had just about every excuse in the book to not do the needed work. We have even been told, "Legacy told us not to worry about that".Don't get me wrong, we love our home and we did get a good deal, but warranty has been an absolute nightmare. Because of this, I don't think we would do business with them again. This tells me how they feel about our business once they have your money. After 5 years in our home, I do want to say that after the stress of the first year follow up, our home has held up well and was constructed very well. We are still there and plan to be there for many years to come. Structurally, our home was made to great standards and very good quality compared with some other local neighborhoods. Legacy did use quality materials and offered an excellent price.
Kelly Dobler: We are loving our new home and had a great home building experience from start to finish. Leigh and Donald were amazing to work with! They are both professional and extremely knowledgeable, but also very personable and fun to work with. I could come to Leigh with a picture or idea and she knew exactly what was needed to accomplish the look. She made all of my ideas come to life and made the best recommendations. She was very accommodating of our schedules and really kept us on track with our selections. She was so patient and great at communicating - always replying with the most thoughtful responses to my questions. If there was ever an issue/backorder, etc with a selection, it was never disappointing because Leigh would help me come up with an even better solution.Donald was so helpful and always went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with every inch of our home. His communication was excellent and would update us every step of the way. His attention to detail was very apparent. We know it wasn’t easy, but Donald pushed really hard to close by the end of September and it made a huge difference for our family. With a limited amount of time, Donald never sacrificed quality. Even post-closing, Donald has been extremely attentive to the additional items that needed to be wrapped up.We would recommend Legacy Custom Homes to anyone and loved working with Leigh and Donald!
Chris Grable: In the past 15 years Legacy built my home, and then my brother's home, and finally my sister's home. Jon Ward did a great job with my sister, who was on a tight budget, but still had years of ideas she wanted to work through! :) 6 years later she still tells me how much she loves her home and how she felt taken care of by Legacy's subcontractors. Thanks again!
Leigh Mosby: The team at Legacy Custom Homes is excellent to work with. Their attention to detail & customer care is one to recognize. From start to finish they make the process enjoyable & the results are amazing!

Carolina Preserve at Amberly: what do users think?
Brian F: The manager Robert is awesome!
Ivy Counselor: Awesome community!
Charles Fleming: Overall, I'm happy here at Carolina Preserve but like all managed communitys there are some things that could be improved and managed better. I don't utilize the gym, however it is a very nice facility. The pools are nice but not my thing as are the tennis courts. Pickleball courts are relatively new and are heavily utilized. There are lots of other activities and clubs but the pandemic has cooled me to most of those. There is a Billards room and Club that I do enjoy more frequently because it's a smaller group that I'm more familiar with and personally know. Overall, a great community.
Jill Poston: Great 55+ community. Friendly people, lots of clubs, beautiful clubhouse, great location. Glad we moved here.
S M: News to me
Joe Turek: Kind of an older crowd
Karen Lyons: I live here. The best 55 active community
Carol Randall: Terrific place to live. We’ve been here for 7 years and we have made such great friends. The amenities can’t be beat, and the pools and community center are great. So glad we moved here.
Sharon Lewis: Fun and beautiful community for the over 55 crowd. There is SO much to do here. I have sold a number of homes in here and my clients love it.Its like summer camp for adults! I love showing these homes to clients looking to downsize or settle in a 55+ community!
Dianne Butler: We were visiting our aunt. This is a very nice, quiet, safe, and we'll maintained community. It is near shopping. The homes are very nicely designed. The landscaping is very nice. They have a community center and other amenities.
RavenLass M: Can't wait to get moved in and then I'll be able to use all the amenities more easily. The people that live and work there are awesome and soooooo nice.
John Heilman: Soooo many activities for every interest. Great neighbors and community staff!
Tom amoreno: Excellent Del Webb neighborhood.Saw a Memorial Day Concert featuring local singers and the 440th Army Band. Both Jazz big band and Concert Band. The best thing was that there was a Change of Command Ceremony in-between bands.
Patricia Romanello: I live in CP. I wish they catered to a younger crowd. There is something going on every hour, every day
Silvia Barba: Best place to retire period.
Kevin Phillippie: Fun place that includes a pool and gym. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
