Jess G: There is so much to be said about this center. If you’re looking for a place to feel welcome and a sense of community, then look no further. I wasn’t in town for long, but I made it a point to volunteer a couple of times to give to them what I could, as they give so much to their members through compassion, inclusion, and mindfulness.
Rewoti Adhikari: It is really wonderful location for spiritual and peaceful people
Tenzin K Dolma: Great Tibetan Buddhist Center.
Eric Perry: Wonderful center (mind you not a temple, but the gompa is great) that has free classes on many nights. This is fairly unique as many places will charge some form of tuition to support their upkeep. Additionally they have two resident Geshes which is also not common.
Jeff Schwartz: Great place, if you looking for such a place
Kathy Mock: A wonderful place to learn and practice Buddhism.
Brian Wright: A place to learn about happiness
Denise Monkovich: This is my reset button once a week :) love the meditation, the dharma, and the discussion

Just A Piece Of Life: what do users think?
Rucha Tembe: I completed 20 sessions of yoga with Taruna. Each session had a theme. Taruna thoughtfully planned each session with theme-specific yoga poses. Taruna’s knowledge of yoga and health shone through our sessions. She brought her expertise of teaching yoga to children to our sessions. As a result, our session had an element of play and lightness incorporated in it. I thoroughly enjoyed learning yoga from Taruna.
Prasanthi Mandava: Tharuna is very knowledgeable with what she is doing and at the same time very passionate about helping kids .Love the way she pays attention to minute details during a pose . She explains clearly and is willing to listen to our concerns .She has so many great ways to deal with kids issues and can be a great willing guide to parents and kids .
Pankaj Patil: During the initial lockdowns, my wife and I decided to focus on health and learn Yoga from someone we knew and could trust. Taruna offered us online classes in early morning. First, there was healthy skepticism as to how effective it’d be but soon we were equally comfortable to the sessions we had taken in person a few months ago.Taruna is very knowledgeable on this topic and provides flexibility to the students depending on their body’s readiness and health status. Overall, I’d highly recommend Taruna if one wants to learn yoga. Thanks Taruna for the amazing support in improving our health.
Kirti Parab: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityMy kids loved doing yoga with Ms Taruna.
vijaya sharma: Positive:Quality
Vishal Patil: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
Kiddie Academy: We love Taruna! She plans such exciting developmentally age and skill appropriate activities for our children, ages 2-5. They really look forward to Yoga class.I highly recommend "Just a Piece of Life".Tracy Wilson-Director
Buddhini Perera: Ms. Taruna has been teaching yoga at Origins Montessori School since last year. The children adore her! She brings such a positive presence to our little community. We couldn’t have asked for a better yoga teacher for our classroom. She is super kind and caring. She brings all kinds fun poses that the children recreate in the classroom throughout the day. We love her! Thank you, Ms. Taruna! ❤️
heather blackwell: Taruna is a gentle and powerful force who seems "designed" to work with people living and learning their best yoga practices. She currently includes my 10-year old twins in weekly classes. My children are autistic; they require accommodations to stay engaged, focused and to enjoy the easeful effort necessary in any yoga practice.I would encourage any child, from the highly-evolved athletically, to those who are still finding their bodies in space, to contact Just A Piece Of Life. Taruna makes yoga practice enjoyable and gracefully challenging for all types of students. She is an honest, professional and fun instructor who deeply cares about each student she encounters.Namaste.
vikram gulati: Taruna is an exceptional instructor who knows how to make yoga interesting to all age groups. She makes yoga relevant in ways I have not seen before.

Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi: what do users think?
Christian Labbe: Susan's classes are good for the mind, body, and soul – well paced, relaxing, graceful, and enlightening. My partner and I have been taking online classes with Susan for over a year. Each class feels fresh, and has something new. Susan is my favorite instructor after having taken classes in four other martial arts. A great instructor makes any style of martial arts great.
Debbie Berg: The classes at Body & Brain have helped me improve strength, balance, and confidence! Susan, the instructor, does an excellent job walking us through the movements. Very positive class and experience!
ben clarke: I love their yoga and tai chi classes because there is such a focus on wellness and healing, as well as community and connection. The teacher is knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming. I just feel amazing after class and throughout my week!
Sandy: I am grateful for every class I take from Susan at Body & Brain. I always without a doubt feel better at the end of class than at the beginning. I joined about six months ago wanting to learn about energy and to practice taichi, and have been doing so - but I have also been learning so much more than that. I've had nothing but positive experiences from this school, and Susan is the best teacher! Also, she makes the classes available to attend online, which is very convenient - I usually attend classes this way.
Cindy Brown: I initially set out looking for a Tai Chi class to help my 64 year old body with balance and strength but found so much more. The core strengthening and energy Yoga classes along with brain training and many great meditations has greatly improved my overall health. I highly recommend this journey.
Norma Joyner: I can’t say enough good things about Body and Brain and Susan. I have dealt with anxiety all my life. I has seen many therapist but the talking and meds only went so far. Body and Brain showed me how to take back my brain and my body. For the first time in my life, I am able to control my thoughts and therefore able to better control my emotions. It has been life changing and my entire family not only sees the difference but benefits from it.I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to find some peace and happiness.
Jacqueline Arguelles: I have been part of the Body & Brain family for more than 2 years. This practice has helped me in so many ways but the most important have been finding, connecting and loving myself. And by this, been able to share this love everywhere without judgment and limits. I live in Miami, however, participate and take my classes online with the Body & Brain family from Raleigh. Love the energy, feel the love and really enjoy how Master JiMo gives the classes. She is very detailed and her knowledge and passion are wonderful. Kamsahamnida.
June Chen: I have been taking classes from Ms Jimo (director of Body &Brain Raleigh center ) over a year. My brain feels much calmer, my body feels more flexible and stronger. Jimo is always very punctual, her classes are versatile, I love them!
I'm Stupid: Love coming to class here! I came just to get better balance and flexibility but my level of body awareness has risen dramatically as has my mindfulness. Susan is an amazing instructor 💙💚💜❤️
Gaby Caballero: Body & Brain has been a BIG game changer for me. Since I've been attending for more than three years, I experienced so much improvement on my health and also my emotions. It's helps me a lot with the anxiety and energy levels. After each class I feel more balance, calm and strong. They have different types of classes so I never get bored + workshops are AMAZING. The recent hybrid model (remote and on site) makes it very accessible for me. Susan' class is one of my favorites, she is super nice, makes me feel peaceful, the exercises and meditations are great and fun too. Great school and philosophy, I am very happy to have found them!
Forrest Hinton: What a hidden gem! In looking around for new yoga studio, I found Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi. This is a truly unique place that works your body AND works your brain to create harmony. The exercises are not hard on your body and joints (no jumping around) but rather good stretching, vibrations and relaxation. In the month I have been going, the stress in my neck and shoulders has reduced. I feel more at peace.I would encourage you to try the sample class and see if it is right for you. You just might be surprised.
Destini Tecorya: Great instructor! I love the environment.
Julia Brown: My experience at Body & Brain has been wonderful. I wasn't really sure what to expect when I went for the first time but the instructor Susan was great and welcoming and I felt comfortable right away. I'm really enjoying learning more about my mind body connection, energy flow and movement. It's been such a unique and great experience so far and I'm looking forward to taking more classes. I highly recommend this place.
Barbara Rothenheber: I have been attending Body and Brain Yoga Tai Chi - Raleigh for about 3 years. Susan (JiMo) is a great instructor, she inspires as well as guides the class participants on a group and individual level. I especially like the stretching exercises, which work on all parts of the body. The calming influence and energy is found in the online classes as well as in studio classes and we can chose which type of class works best for us on a given day. This practice is great for me as an older individual with physical issues since Susan ensures that we do not feel the need to do more than we are ready to do in any class. The best part of is sharing your experience and good new with class mates at the end of every class; it is nice to keep the mind, body spirit loop going all day.
Jonathan Fabish: Body & Brain is a very different breed of yoga than you might find at the typical studio in Raleigh, and I mean this in the best of ways!I do enjoy a grueling hot yoga class or a slow yin class. But, at B&B, I feel restored and more deeply in tune with my energy after every class. I have felt improvements in my circulation, flexibility, and general awareness in a short time. You can feel new neural connections developing as the exercises challenge your balance and coordination. In the process, be prepared to laugh at yourself joyfully :)One of my favorite things about the style of practice is that it is highly sustainable. I can do it every day, knowing that the risk of injury is negligible. I'm confident that I am keeping myself young and drastically reducing the chance of future injuries. Also, Susan is professional and compassionate. You've got to try this place!
Frank J. Dalli: This Tai Chi class surprised me at how much it works and builds your core strength and energy. The movements are smooth but you are working much harder than you think while participating. Classes offer focus on stretching, balance, and coordination.
Laureen Petersen: I am so grateful to have the opportunity to visit Body & Brain North Carolina. The instructor; Susan is knowledgeable an extremely caring for her practitioners. Classes are flexible and very soothing and calming to the body. I struggled with some health issues until I joined body & brain yoga! The classes helped me to increase my energy and overall flexibility in my upper and lower extremities .What is amazing about body and brain it really doesn’t matter how old you are.If you are in need of exploring a sense of self-awareness, Body and Brain healing and peace of mind, I recommend you visit the center.
Kris B.: Susan was great, but this gives me cult vibes. I would really implore whoever is looking at this to Google "Body & Brain Yoga Cult" for your own understanding. I thought it was strange that the price of courses was not transparent. They provided them in 3 month, 6 month, and 1 year increments. 3 months is about $400, and if you can't afford to purchase it outright, you can put a "down payment" on it. I ended up not joining, though I did take an introductory class.I just didn't like how the founder was spoken about in a "higher than thou" kind of way, and the prices, to me, were a bit unreasonable. There aren't actual yoga poses like downward dog and sun salutations, but I would be lying if I said I didn't feel something during our meditation. Overall, I would certainly caution those away from this organization, but if it works for you, more power to you!
Ms. Anonymous: Excellent experience! Highly recommend.
Cheri Phillips: Positive:ProfessionalismA year ago I severely hurt my lower back. I tried physical therapy and even had two cortisone injections with very little relief. Once I started Body & Brain Tai Chi I have slowly been able to greatly improve my back pain! I highly recommend anyone of any age to give it a try, These classes help you body, mind and spirit.
Timothy Moore: I found Brain and Body Yoga Tai Chi several weeks ago after doing an online search for meditation practices in Raleigh. After my first introductory session, I got a membership and after my first couple classes, I was absolutely convinced I had made a wise choice. Susanleads classes that help you to stretch, improve your balance, strengthen your core, but also to destress and relax through breathing techniques. The classes are always instructive and at times push you to develop your physical capabilities and mindfulness. Susan is always keenly aware of proper body positioning to maintain safety as we practice. I highly recommend this studio.

They also offer a wide range of classes for more experienced practitioners. The class props are top quality and the custom storage system is very well thought out and gives the space a great put-together feel. Overall it is a wonderful studio experience.

Kosala Buddhist Center: what do users think?
Rob Woods: Very peaceful and serene spot ran by good people.
Jean LeCluyse: Calm and peaceful meditation center.
Monica Heiser: Cozy meditation center. The community members are kind and very experienced in meditation and Buddhism. No one is turned away if they can't pay.
Gen Kelsang Tabkay: I attended Kosala Center for 2 years when I was a graduate student at UNC and was so happy to have it as a place of peace and refuge. Kosala is an inclusive community that welcomes people of all backgrounds and faiths and is a real gem for the area. The amazing teachings later inspired me to become a Buddhist monk and teacher. I have known the teachers there for over 10 years and they are such wonderful, inspiring examples of authentic practitioners working to bring inner peace to the community. Nothing but love for this place!
Kelsang Namdrol: I highly recommend this peaceful meditation center. You will definitely feel welcomed by their warm-hearted and kind community. They have a wonderful Resident Teacher and various weekly drop-in classes. I was able to attend a very inspiring and practical Saturday workshop. Thanks Kosala Buddhist Center! ♥️
igor hodochisnkiy: I think there is a growing amount of people in the south that are starving for some teachings that the Kosala Buddhist center offers. Keep doing what you're doing, it is greatly appreciated. And thank you Ethan for the words of wisdom 🙏.
Katherine Williams: Kosala teachers are not ordained, they don't follow the Dalia Lama, and they emphasize payment. Proceed with careful attention to your intuition and with discernment.
Tori Ralston: The Kosala Buddhist Center is a local gem in Carrboro! The teachings offer practical tools on how to have a beautiful and peaceful mind and the meditations offer a sense of spaciousness and love in your heart. You can simply show up for a class and feel embraced by the kindness of the Sangha-experience it for your self.
Ann Gerhardt: I wanted to find a community to help me establish and maintain my meditation practice. I have found this and much more. I have found a teacher well versed in the New Kadampa tradition, a practice that helps people who lead busy, in-the-world lives. It has helped me in so many practical ways to live in ways that help others and myself. It's also very fun and has a sense of humor!!
Ethan Lechner: I've been attending classes at Kosala Center for a few years, and have found it has helped me to develop a more positive attitude, and become more accepting of myself and others.
David Perrin: I looked into many other Buddhist traditions and teachers over the years before I found the New Kadampa Tradition. I have been a part of several centers and have always found wonderful and sincere practioners and teachers there. Now that I am living in Chapel Hill, Kosala has been no exception to my experience.
David Rademacher: I have found the Kosala Buddhist center an inspiration. It is an open and welcoming place, where well referenced and authentic Buddhist teachings are made available to all. Thank you.
