Well, 2 months later, i received a phone call saying that my insurance company will not cover my surgery and I have to pay the balance. I asked why am I just now getting this message well after my surgery? The billing manager said that sometimes it takes that long for insurance companies to respond. He took the time to personally speak with my mom after my surgery, and then called to follow up later that afternoon to make sure I was doing okay. Alexa B.: Now that I’ve made my final payment to this place, I feel comfortable enough to write about my wisdom teeth extraction experience. On the morning of my surgery, I thought everything was going well. As some of the other reviews note, the surgeon also recommended I have a CT scan in office to confirm one of my wisdom teeth was not wrapped around a nerve that would potentially cause permanent facial numbness. When you hear something like that, obviously you don’t want to risk it, so I proceeded with the CT scan. Now I see it seems to be a pretty common recommendation by this place. After the CT scan, I was put into an office to go over my treatment plan. Everything seemed standard, and I signed the consent forms. I was given aftercare instructions and told my post-op ‘prescription’ would be sent to my pharmacy and that was that. I went under general anesthesia, had surgery, and went home. My husband picked up my prescription from the pharmacy and noticed it was 600mg ibuprofen. We thought that was odd that it wasn’t something stronger, but I’m not one to take pain medication anyway so I wasn’t too worried. Fast forward to a day and a half later when I was in excruciating pain. All of my sockets were on fire, I was getting no sleep and having to take 600mg ibuprofen less than every 4 hours to even get any kind of relief. I had to take off work, and I called the office on the verge of tears to ask if I could be called in a stronger prescription. The woman I spoke to looked at my chart and said “I see that you had the long-lasting numbing injections. Let me talk to the surgeon and see what can be done.” She came back and said “Since you already got the long-lasting numbing injections, the surgeon said you can come back in for additional doses.” I had to stop her right there. I said “Excuse me, but can you just clarify what you mean by ‘long-lasting numbing injections’? What are those? Why was I given them? Was my surgery especially difficult or something?” I was so confused. These had never been mentioned to me on the morning of my surgery. They were not discussed with me when going over my treatment plan. I felt violated to say the least. The woman proceeded to tell me that I was given “long-lasting numbing injections” - again, I’m not even told the name of these injections - and that they were supposed to control my pain for 3-5 days after surgery, and which is why I wasn’t prescribed a stronger narcotic for post-op pain and only given ibuprofen. I work in clinical research and know the ins and outs about obtaining consent, and I truly feel this part of my treatment plan was not discussed with me intentionally. At that point I asked for a stronger prescription and was prescribed hydrocodone. I tried taking the hydrocodone for 2 days (at which time I was still in excruciating pain and unable to work), but they did not control the pain I was in. I called the office back and accepted getting additional injections because that’s how much pain I was in. Only when I returned to the office did I find out these are Exparel injections. Again, never discussed with me on the morning of surgery. The consent forms I signed listed out every dose of general anesthesia I would get and, in the midst of all that, it’s not easy to discern that something is not a general anesthesia medication; but of course, looking back ‘Infiltration of Sustained Release Therapeutic Drug’ is listed right there on the treatment planned that I signed. It doesn’t take away the fact that it was never discussed with me or my husband whatsoever. I unwillingly paid $300 for these “long-lasting numbing injections” that didn’t even last 1.5 days for me, when I could’ve been written a prescription for a pain medication that my insurance would’ve covered and I maybe would’ve had to pay a $10 co-pay for. Be warned to review your treatment plan very carefully and ask about any line items you feel were not adequately discussed, or discussed at all.

David Shaw: I usually don't write reviews but PLEASE do your research before stepping foot in this office! Staff is very accommodating and very attentive. CAN'T speak to one positive experience with the provider (dentist). I wish we had never sent our daughter to this office. Being a medical professional, I understand that every patient situation is different but when a patient returns one week later with an open socket and complaining of pain and eating Motrin and Tylenol every 3-4 hours something should be done besides, "pain is normal a week or two out." Another week passes and swelling begins. Infused antibiotics started at my request, not his. Second dose of IV antibiotics infused the next morning...again at my request, NOT his. Finally, after a 10-day course of oral antibiotics and 3 weeks of pain my daughter is back eating and just a sore mouth from time to time. Let me reiterate that every patient situation is different, but the provider is "in and out" and doesn't want to take responsibility for any of his actions or listen to a concerned parent and patient.

Schnauzer mama: Everyone was very friendly. My first visit they explained everything to me including potential risks with my wisdom teeth surgery and answered any questions I had. I had terrible anxiety when it was time for the surgery and was shaking and crying in the chair. The employees were very friendly and understanding distracting me by talking and even giving me a stress ball. I don't remember too much leading out of the office 🤣 but beforehand I was treated very well. They even did a follow up call to see if I had any questions.

Kim Valent: We were referred to the practice by our Dentist for our daughter's wisdom teeth extraction. The consultation felt a little rushed, but good overall. We were notified that the doctor would not know until he exposed the teeth if he would extract them in one piece or need to break them out.On the day of the surgery, our daughter was taken back and put under the anesthesia. An assistant came into the waiting room from the front entrance and told us our daughter was done and ready to go home. They had pushed her into the main hallway from a side door in a wheelchair and handed us the post-op instructions. When asked if the teeth had to be broken out and if there were additional items to watch out for, they said they didn't have any information to share. When asked if the doctor at least felt the procedure went well, they said they didn't know that either and escorted us out of the building.Poor patient care and follow-up, especially with performing a procedure on a minor.

Amanda Haas: Dr Cusumano’s office in Cary was able to squeeze me in for an emergency tooth extraction on a Friday and I couldn’t be more thankful. Dr French was very polite and professional and got my aching tooth out within minutes with no pain. I definitely recommend his offices if you’re looking for any oral surgery to be done.

Will Viggers: I got my wisdom teeth removed yesterday by Dr French. To say it was an awful experience was an understatement. I went in with elevated blood pressure from nerves and was expected to be put completely to sleep and was NOT. I was not prepared for the sounds and pressure during this procedure, I was prepared to be put completely asleep, from him having to hit something with a hammer to get my tooth out to him pushing against my face with the instrument used to pull my tooth out all while awake and I left crying from just being terrified because I was not given enough medication and was completely aware of what was going on. Dr French also had no bedside manner and didn’t say a word to me about that he decided not to put me all the way to sleep and didn’t speak to me at all after the surgery. I wish I could forget this whole experience but sadly I can’t.

He explained exactly what he was doing and answered all our questions. He even saw him back in that same day for excessive bleeding and called to check on him the next day. Very pleased to finally have this done. Staff also was very nice and helpful.

Rebecca Drabenstott: I cannot recommend NU Image. I learned two things. One, always get a second opinion. Two, out-of-network providers sometimes cost much less.Pros: Bryan the surgical assistant at NU Image was very patient and kind and went above and beyond in multiple ways.Cons: The NU Image periodontist recommended extra treatment and wanted to sedate me unnecessarily. They cost 3-4 times as much as the highly-rated periodontist I saw for a second opinion.Details:My general dentist recommended I go to NU Image for a gum recession consultation. NU Image said I needed gum graft surgery on 4 teeth and a frenectomy (severing the connective tissue between my lip and gum). I asked if there were any alternatives and they flatly said no. They said that I would be under conscious sedation and I’d need someone to drive me home. NU Image is in-network for my insurance. My out of pocket cost for surgery would be $2663. For the consultation, it was $100.I decided to go to a highly-rated out-of-network periodontist for a second opinion. He said that I needed gum graft surgery on just 2 teeth and did not mention the need for a frenectomy. I know that dentistry is sometimes a judgement call, but I tend to trust the dentists who suggest less treatment. Here’s the kicker. He asked if I wanted conscious sedation or not. I was very surprised to learn that nearly all of his adult patients opt for local anesthesia only (and NU Image had not even told me that this was an option)! The second-opinion periodontist is out-of-network for my insurance. My out of pocket cost for surgery was $810. For the consultation, it was $26. Wow, so much cheaper than NU Image! And less pain!More details:The NU Image receptionist insisted that she couldn’t submit to my insurance unless I gave them my SSN. I prefer to not unnecessarily share my SSN due to identity theft concerns, but after the receptionist got frustrated with me, I caved. Interestingly, the office where I got my second opinion had no trouble submitting to my insurance without my SSN.At NU Image I was called back to be seen over 30 minutes after my appointment time.

Theresa Banks: I had gum graft surgery on 2 bottom teeth that I had been putting off for a while. Nu image had me locked in during the consultation when they gave me a warm blanket and Diet Coke 😂. Not only that, but their assistant at the time and Dr. Rivero were sooooo nice. I went back 6 months later and had the procedure done. The procedure was so comfortable and smooth and the assistants were caring and so was Dr. Rivero. She is the absolute best. The IV insertion for sedation was not painful at all, either. They did an amazing job. I highly recommend this place!

Andrea Dugger: Never would I have imagined how "unpainful" and simple my oral surgery would be. I had heard horrid stories from friends and family who had the same procedure and was prepared for the worst. During the procedure I feel asleep and never really had pain after. ( I stayed on the regiment of my meds and only had to remember not to use a straw.) The surgical team (Dr. Riverio, Patti, and Bryan) were awesome and let me join in their pop music team! Ken Knutsen: Dr. Benzing and assistant were both outstanding in level of care provided. I was getting a healthy tooth removed for an orthodontic plan of treatment. They gave me choice of being put under or just a local numbing shot. I chose the local and the procedure was quick and painless. Post-surgery instructions were clear. Our six year old needed some extractions their oral surgeon did all three in one time with laughing gas my son had no post surgery pain or swelling. It took Dr Tori a few minutes to complete and the amount of kindness and security they displayed to my son was more than I could have ever asked.

Jake Gibson: Had my wisdom teeth pulled a little over a week ago. TIC Cary is great. Dr. Mueller explained everything in layman's terms, and his confidence in my procedure made the experience a lot better. David, Anna and the rest of the support staff were nice and easy to talk with. The front office staff is also wonderful, and made it easy to ask questions and understand the entire process, start to finish. I highly recommend TIC, Dr. Mueller, and his team.

Son of numenor: Just got my wisdom teeth out about 30 mins ago. Everyone was so incredibly nice and amazing. I have a severe phobia of dental work, but they are so professional! The ladies at the front desks are so sweet and bright and kind. The hygienists/assistants are amazing and sweet and understanding. The oral surgeons are so professional and kind and totally make you feel at ease. I hate dentistry work. But gotta say love this place and all these people!!!

Edie: My dentist had the confidence to sent me to Dr. Muller for an extraction Dr.Muller was thorough, confident, and knowledgeable which gave me confidence. I was a little scared, he talked me through it and made proper adjustments for my health concerns.The assistants were friendly and preparedfor the procedure, talking me through the surgery sharing the steps one by onefor the procedure for grafting and surgery.The office worked to bring the financialaspects of payment and forms to assist me in completing my paperwork, they made it easy, and were helpful and very kind no matter how many times I called.I recommend this dental facility and dentist. ❤️ because I needed a little bit more and they were there for me.

Justin Burke: We drove all the way from Wilmington for our son Joel to have his wisdom teeth removed. First of all, the office is immaculate. The entire staff was incredibly kind and made the experience one that put our child at ease. Julie was an absolute gem. Kind, professional and compassionate. Totally worth the 2 hour drive. If you need any oral surgery, you should definitely consider Triangle Implant Center in Cary!

Kaylin Maxwell: Currently in bed recovering from the scary procedure that is wisdom tooth removal… And, although I still wish I never even had to get this done lol, I AM glad that I got it done here. Nurse Anna/Anne (I’m sorry girl, I can’t remember which it is) was so funny and nice, and did a great job administering my IV even though I’m a terrible stick. The Dr came in and was very professional and kind. Every person I encountered was kind and smiling. I literally was told to take a deep breath at one point and the next thing I knew, I was awake… I was like dang when did I even fall asleep!? So weird how medicine works lol. I didn’t feel a thing so shout out to the anesthesiologist!! Highly recommend this office (:

Diane Pressley: I had a great experience with my wisdom tooth extraction today. Dr. Mueller was amazing. He was very patient and took his time to explain the procedure to me. I was extremely nervous prior to the procedure but him and his staff made me feel very comfortable from beginning to end. The staff was also amazing and genuinely friendly. Both of my teenage children had their wisdom teeth taken out here in the past and had a great experience as well.

Sal Hamed: This is a second review we give to Dr. Muller, Anna, and Julie. This is the dream team. They are professional at its finest. Dr. Muller is the only surgeant I will allow to drill into my jaws and puts screws in (implants). Super smooth and his nurse Anna is the best!

Charles Hall: I'm not happy with these people. Wisdom tooth extraction left me with multiple abrasions inside my cheeks in addition to the tooth issues. Then they only prescribed 6 oxycodone pills for pain. They have no coverage on weekends/after hours but just refer you to Duke hospital. They were also pretty casual about the crown they knocked off.

Kamry Stanford: I am very pleased with my recent wisdom tooth extraction on May 14th, where I was finally blessed with insurance that fully covered getting all four of my uncomfortable wisdom teeth removed after many years. Although I had concerns regarding the minor surgery (as this would be my first surgery ever) and the healing process, I was reassured all would go well and not one lie was told. I do recommend you do as instructed and follow up if you’re experiencing terrible pain. I had concerns with the amount of ibuprofen I was taking to dilute the pain and was informed that too many ibuprofens at that dosage in high volume could cause liver problems. I was so thankful for their advice and insisting of calling back if needed so things didn’t worsen. Be your biggest advocate but also know you’re in great hands I promise! I’m grateful to have been recommended to you all and will certainly personally recommend others.Thank you all for your quality service and kind transparent interactions.

Nick Barfield: I had a few of my wisdom teeth removed a few days ago. All of the staff were genuinely kind people. I never got the sense that they were just being nice because it was their job. That was big for me because I'd never been sedated before and their kindness put me at ease as soon as I walked in the building. The procedure itself was over before I even knew it began. My recovery has been a quick and smooth journey thanks to their instructions. 5 out of 5. 10 out of 10. 2 thumbs up. Would recommend to all of my loved ones.
