Duke Perinatal Consultants of Cary: what do users think?
Alexandra Menigoz: This is my first pregnancy and happens to be twin gestation, so we were referred here by our OB for an anatomy scan. Coming in, we were nervous and anxious. Mary was our sonographer and she could not have been better! She was calm, patient, and walked us through every step of the anatomy scan for each baby. We never felt stupid for questions or concerns, or rushed at all. We were supported and cared for the whole time by all of the office staff and doctors we met. This is what a pregnancy experience and ultrasound should be like, and I honestly recommend this facility to ANYONE!
Josh Wood: This place is a complete joke. I would never recommend these people to anyone. My wife was referred here by our previous OBGYN because she is high risk. We were supposed to have our first appointment today and 2 hours before her appointment they called and made it a virtual appointment. They said the “provider” wouldn’t be in today. Why in the world would you schedule a new patient who needs an ultrasound when the “provider” isn’t going to be there. On top of that they refused to schedule her for an anatomy exam. We haven’t seen anyone in a month because we’ve been waiting for an opening. We called and canceled the appointment completely and the lady that answered the phone had no emotions at all. Not hey sorry to see you go or sorry we are losing you as a patient or anything. Don’t waste your time with this place. We have had nothing but issues with them. They make you feel like thrown out garbage. All we needed was an ultrasound to make sure we have a healthy baby and they can’t even do that. We wasted a month of our lives waiting when we could have already been somewhere else.
Farah M: All I can say is wow. This is my first pregnancy and was referred here through another doctor I had. I was not 100 percent satisfied with my original doctors cause I felt like I wasn’t getting enough info. Here at Duke everyone was amazing. The staff was very friendly and welcomed me. Dr. Rhee is AMAZING , she gave me so much info. She was very reassuring and comforting and let me know I’m doing everything I’m supposed to be doing and I couldn’t say enough good things about them. I am so excited to continue my care at this location and feel like I am finally in good hands. Thank you everyone !
Kiera Horne: Been at the doctor since 1045 with my 2 kids ages 11 and 14. They tell me to hang out in cary for my next appointment now I sit in the lobby for an hour and a half and they say oh by the way we have a strict policy no kids under the age of 12... Really I'm 34 weeks preg miserable not to mention I don't live around here and they want to give me a hard time.. stick with Duke Perinatal Raleigh. Don't get me wrong the doctors are exceptional but the manager and some of the ultrasound techs are just ridiculous. They should have told me that from they beginning so I could make arrangements.
Ashley Edgell: I have had 2 appointments at this location for a level 2 ultrasound, both of which I was notified (upon arrival) that they were running 30 or more minutes behind. After they allowed me to sit in the waiting room for close to an hour this morning, I got up to ask about timing and was told possibly another 20-30 minutes, forcing me reschedule because my 4 year old needs to be picked up from school. I can’t believe an appointment that is paramount to a pregnant person’s and their baby’s health could be handled so incredibly unprofessionally. All I can say is thank goodness this isn’t my regular practice.
Myahooo ooo: Unprofessional reception staff
Erika Wagner: I enjoyed the doctors and everyone here. However, when it came to my delivery I very much disliked this practice. We were told numerous times my daughter would be in the room with us when she was born and the nephrology team would come into the room to do bedside ultrasounds. As soon as we were in the hospital I was told she would actually be taken to the NICU. She spent 5 days there where they did every test imaginable and there was NOTHING wrong. Do not recommend due to lack of communication between office staff and hospital staff.
Chavis in the City Real estate: Select another provider. This office is a disgrace to Duke. Appointments canceled last minute, genetic counselor does not return calls, you can’t have family on calls during ultrasound. IMean the complaints are endless. I would not recommend!
Spencer Badgley: After receiving abnormal test results and this being our first pregnancy, we called hoping to speak to someone and get in right away after our OB sent in a stat referral and they told us the earliest apt they had was a week away and going to be a video call with a genetic counselor. So they wanted me to wait a whole week for someone to go over my results with me and then what, wait another 2 weeks for me to even be seen. I started calling around, and WakeMed maternal fetal medicine directed me immediately to a genetic counselor who discussed things with me and now I have an apt tomorrow with a doctor to review everything. So thanks Duke for once again making me very dissatisfied with the service you offer. I recommend WakeMed any day over Duke
Andrea Gropper: Every single person I talked to in this office was absolutely wonderful. I've never felt so well taken care of in any sort of doctors office by every single member of the staff. I'm so happy that this is the office I was referred to and these are the people who are going to be helping us out during my pregnancy. I couldn't ask for a nicer more caring team.
jennifer woodson: Everyone in the office is really nice and helpful. They did a good job with keeping things clean in the waiting room and exam rooms. I would definitely recommend this practice.
William Russell: Dr Rhee and staff were exceptional. Very friendly and comforting. Highly recommend. Some information was incorrect by few days and they wanted to verify and update with the correct info from a previous doctor. Thanks to everyone at this facility.
Leah Scrimenti: Awful place. They ignore what you’re feeling and brush you off like you’re an invalid. I kept telling them to check me for pre eclampsia for like a month and they kept brushing it off. I went to another office and the first day I went I got sent to the ER cus I DID have pre eclampsia and now I have to be induced early. I would have never known. Just like in the beginning when I would complain of chest pain and other things and once again no one cared and come to find out this pregnancy has made me severely anemic and that’s why I had all that going on.
Lauren McDade: Dr. Rhee is the sweetest, most compassionate provider you will ever find. A great place for specialized ultrasounds.
Sarah P: I’m thankful for Dr Rhee and Dr Groeghut! Excellent providers who are compassionate and caring!
Melissa Miller: For a truly high risk pregnancy I can think of no better place for a baby to be monitored.
Samantha Jarzynka: Terrible treatment and health care by this entire staff. Everyone seemed to be in a terrible mood and did not communicate unless asked. The physician available(forgot his name because was only mentioned once) patronized while explaining as if I wasn’t a concerned mother trying to understand the results of baby. I am in the health field and he wanted me to explain the condition I was worried about as I already know a lot about it. He sat and didn’t respect that I didn’t need a lecture about what the 4 chambers of the heart were as he drew a circle and two lines, while babies heart was right on the screen in front of us. He was not professional, and the ultrasound technician didn’t allow time to show me and my husband and my daughter anything about baby during a routine anatomy scan. If I couldn’t read the scans myself I wouldn’t know her brain, spine, hands and feet were all normal. Just wow, couldn’t have had more impersonal, non caring staff for a concerned mother and her family.

WakeMed Maternal Fetal Medicine: what do users think?
Laura Gee: Dr. Rimawi is an absolutely incredible provider. When faced with a high risk pregnancy, he is exactly the person you'd hope to have planning your care. His compassion and kindness is truly unmatched, and his bedside manner is unparalleled. He took his time at each visit walking us through a second scan he performed himself, explaining everything he was looking at in great detail. If I ever had a question, he was prompt to respond quickly and would often give me a call instead of replying via MyChart. There were times that he called me to discuss concerns or test results after he'd left work for the day, and even days when he was off. He noticed I was admitted to the hospital while he was checking my chart just to see how I was doing, and he gave me a call to see how I was. Most recently, he was checking my chart again just to see how I was doing, saw I had my baby, and called to congratulate my husband and I - even though he was supposed to be on paternity leave as his wife had just had their newest baby the week before! WakeMed is truly fortunate to have a specialist as absolutely incredible as Dr. Rimawi, and all of his patients are equally lucky they have the privilege of being his patient. Thank you, Dr. Rimawi!
Asmita Kamal: I went to MFM as a high risk pregnancy case. The whole team of MFM were very helpful. Specially my provider Dr. Rimawi. He is very knowledgeable, explained every steps clearly and confidently. Dr. Rimawi made my pregnancy journey much more stress free. Even when we have to take emergency surgery decision he was supportive and informed us about all aspects. Thanks again to whole MFM team.
JP Giron: Meredith is the BEST! Very professional, always in a fun mood, and she is always able to explain things on the ultrasound. Very knowledgeable! Ask for her.
Kathleen: I don’t usually post bad reviews, but this was not the first time I’ve experienced a less than average encounter at this office. When stating this whole endeavor, you are supposed to fill in the information in regards to last period to determine gestation. The information was not conveyed and I had informed the desk, the nurses AND the doctor I was further along than they had in my chart. When I had my first appointment I was asked AGAIN for my last period dates and when I provided them the information, it was still incorrect and the doctor mentioned we were 10 weeks instead of 8. The first ultrasound itself was fine, but the office advises you arrive early to allow for “checkin” which can be done on MyChart. We then sat in the waiting area for beyond our scheduled appointment time. For first time pregnancies, do not expect much, no check ups, no doctor check ins and that could be a COVID thing - but even if you’re fine, no one goes out of their way to ask.We were supposed to be getting another ultrasound this week to determine gender. We we’re running behind, so I called to ensure if we needed to be rescheduled, that we didn’t have to drive all the way to Cary. We called three times and no one answered the phone. When we arrived, we then waited an additional 5 to 10 minutes waiting for someone to service us at the check-in desk. When she finally came out I informed the lady we had called and her only response was we would need to be rescheduled due to us being outside of the 15 minute window. During the process of rescheduling our appointment she gave other options for another offices, and when I informed her we could only do appointments before 1 PM, she continue to quote me appointments for after that time. I had reiterated at least four times of our scheduling requirements and finally was sent home with an appointment for 2 weeks from our original appointment.I understand the high volume of pregnant women but the extremely restricted office hours probably doesn't help with that. I could not imagine my providers being located in the offices that only operate two days a week, and that may be WakeMeds way to regulate the office during COVID, HOWEVER, I’m sure I’m not the only first time mama who works during the day, but I would like to know how our baby is growing and if everything is healthy. The lack of communication alone is means for us to move to another provider and the very dry interactions with the staff just leaves a worse taste in the mouth.
Pearlinda Ranjit: Love coming to this office always a great experience.
Lyndsey Casey: Had my anatomy scan yesterday with Diana. She was FANTASTIC. Could not have asked for a better person to be with. She was thorough, explained what we were looking at, answered any questions we had. Absolutely loved her.
Krupa Nr: Firstly, we are extremely happy with the care with our first baby back in 2017. That is the primary reason for continuing to choose Wakemed this time too - mainly Pamela Lapidus Borden and Dr. Diana Spahlinger McCarthy were amazing. Not to say others were not in our mind but these two persons were at the top of the list for me to consider WakeMed again. Thanks to both of them and all the staff of the WakeMed for their tremendous support and professionalism.
Katie Galehouse: Wonderful caring experience here, beautiful facility, and Pam at the front desk is always a joy!

Duke Perinatal Consultants of Raleigh: what do users think?
Rayna Ortiz: Front desk lady was very rude just a few mins ago. Not sure how you guys can have someone like that working with high risk pregnancies.
Amy Hernandez: Rude front desk staff, especially Bianca. Waiting room was completely empty my entire visit but my two children were not allowed in the waiting room, per Bianca stating the guest rules. My children had to sit in the car in the parking lot. Will reschedule with a different practice and never return. This office does not have good reviews for a reason.
Ashley Bruner: Was referred here by my OBGYN for a more in depth ultrasound. The tech was very knowledgeable and friendly, as well as the staff at the front desk. Overall, great experience.
David Shafer: Very unorganized and un professional. They tell us when we get there our insurance is not accepted after they already got that information over the phone that would have been nice to know before we took off work and drove over an hour to come to the appointment. What a joke this place is.
Tiffany Sweeney: The doctor was rude and mean
Brittany Scott: Go to Cary location or Durham location. Staff is incompetent
Robert Esposito: Extremely unprofessional with zero sense of urgency. I'm leaving a one star review because I do not have the option to leave none. They have a "not my job" mentality here.
Kristin Strawn: I have been going every month without any issues. Today I go in for my usual monthly scan and left in tears. Stacy the ultrasound lady that attended to me today was awful. She was extremely rough and I said something several times about her hurting me and her response was to just lift my belly. I understand I'm overweight. But the other two ultrasounds were not painful and they were so nice. Then when I started to cry she just stopped and left. The doctor then came in while I was crying and instead wanted to be rude about my mask that had slipped down some while crying and I hadn't noticed it. He just kept insisting I was not understanding her and made excuses for her behavior and also blamed my weight. Which I haven't even gained any weight in the 6 months, still have been loosing it. The behavior from the staff today was completely unacceptable.
Remember Me Holt: I was referred here half way through my pregnancy because of my health issues. After my last doctor made it sound so bad, these people were able to calmly, honestly, and patiently explain things. They gave me a sense of calm and understanding of my condition. They made me feel confident about the whole thing and I will be induced in three weeks. These last few months have been hard but they have been so caring and supportive. I love the front desk workers, the nurse that takes you back, the lab tec, the ultrasound tec, the doctors. Everyone at this office has been so exceptional and great. I feel confident and informed about my delivery and know we have and will be taken care of.
ShaRon: This has to be the worst experience I’ve had with a prenatal office. Much of the staff is incompetent, they have no sense of urgency to help the patients and do not care to create a healthy medical relationship with you. I could go on and on about the many things that went wrong while I was seen at this office, not to mention they blamed me for something they clearly did wrong and tried to cover it up.
Briyana Stevens: I can't say enough about this place. They looked out for my 1st pregnancy(TWINS), and I'm back with them again for my 2nd pregnancy. I love my NP, Ms. Laura Brown and my OB, Dr. Jeff Kuller. I understand a lot of the bad reviews, but you can't go off of that alone. Trust your instinct and your medical team. Please be understanding of the wait times because they are short staffed, and we are still in a pandemic.
K1rschbomb: The doctors are great but the front desk is absolutely terrible. I called and asked if I could bring my daughter with my husband for a scan because I didn’t have child care they said yes both could come. I get here and they told me my husband had to stay in the car with our 1 year old and I had to go back alone for my scan. Absolutely terrible customer service and no communication between them
Yuan Wang: First of all, the doctor I saw, Patricia Thompson is GOOD, she is very patient.I give 1 star for their fee and customer service. My regular visits are at UNC, but because I am over 35, so we did an ultrasound at Duke. Because the ultrasound is not covered by my insurance, I chose self-pay. The same type of ultrasound, for self-pay, UNC charges $180-250, Duke charges $450.Then before the ultrasound, Duke called me for about 10-15 minutes, in the call, I was asked some basic questions, such like how many kids I have, where I am from, whether have genetic disease, etc.. My UNC doctor had asked me most of those questions earlier. Then 5 months later, they billed me $60 for that phone call -- it's self-pay price, before discount, it's $120. So basically, that phone call worthies $10/minute, and nobody told me they would charge for the phone call.I didn't know what the $60 bill for when I received it, so I sent question on MyChart about it. They didn't respond until 5 days later I sent another message asking them to answer my question. And then in the following days, I received 2 responses with 2 different answers. Which means their customer service has no idea what they are doing and do not want to respond at all.Overall, I think Duke is too avaricious on money. I know hospitals are expensive, but compare to what Duke does, looks like their biggest interest in only on money!
Chelsea Pursell: I was really worried going in after reading the reviews. I was sent from my obgyn to get my gender ultrasound here. I had a very pleasant experience. The receptionists were nice. The ultrasound tech, Christina, was really nice and personal. The doctor was nice and gentle in delivering bad news.
Ivy Spruill: Slow. They're fine once they see you but they're very slow. Literally took forever. Before they take you in takes forever, once they take you in, wait again takes forever, once you need to see another dr, takes forever, once you need to get blood drawn, takes forever. Everything takes forever. I was there for 2 hrs and total appt probably took 50 mins max. The rest was just waiting.
Alicia Bush: Wonderful experience with entire staff at duke perinatal Raleigh during a very difficult and heart breaking appointment. Austin (the RN) was so compassionate and kind talking to me on the phone before the appt and during the appt. Thank you soMuch for all you do!!
Maggie Michaels: I’ve had a phenomenal experience with Duke Perinatal. I’ve never had to wait and they have been amazing at working with my current practice. I highly recommend this practice as someone who is dealing with a high risk pregnancy.
Haley Shaw: Each time i've been scheduled to be seen as this office they are behind 30minutes-1hour. The ultrasound techs consistently seemed rushed when appointments are behind schedule which results in poor picture quality. I've never left this office feeling confident in my appointment and have asked to be referred to a different MFM Dr at 28 weeks pregnant. The only nice things about this office are the polite front desk attendees and the quality of the facility.
Jill Crudup: The ultrasound tech was very short, rude and rough with my belly. After speaking with the dr. there was no action taken place, I went in for a 3D pic and left with a Blurry pic, after I ask if she could get a clearer picture she said No, front desk staff extremely helpful and pleasant, this was my 2nd visitMy first visit I waited 2 hours to be seen and again nothing was address
Michelle Brown: Every time ive went in for appt, ive had to wait 30-1hr. Like today. Unprofessional. Duke i expected better. Lots of unprofessionals and closed early at 1pm on friday, so if you have emergency. You have to figure it out on your own
Jonathan Piasio: We cannot say enough great things about this group of doctors, nurses and staff. Scheduling is easy and very accommodating to your personal needs. If your pregnancy is high risk of complications please consider them to be your guiding light from inception to delivery.

Duke Perinatal Consultants of Durham and Fetal Diagnostic Center: what do users think?
Kimberly Gentry: My first experience here went well, however, when arriving for my second visit, nurses and manager refused to let my 2 year old daughter and husband go back with me for a most important ultrasound. My sitter was sick so our daughter had to come with us and they would not accommodate our family. Duke claims to be a family oriented and friendly place but refuse to help families when they're really in need. Manager tried to force me back without my family so I refused and left. I will never go back. My family is with me at all other clinics, this was unnesscessary and was a big let down to not just me but my family as well. Very disappointed!
Kelly Boyd: Mary in ultrasound is the absolute best. And so is Dr. Boyd!!!
Kayci Pugh: I have no idea what these negative reviews are about but the bathrooms are very clean, the doctors are very knowledgeable and understanding. I have had the pleasure of working with a lot of people while being seen at Duke. I will say they have saved my baby’s life and mine, if it wasn’t for them, when I give birth my son most likely would’ve died. They have a nurse check on me all the time, and they are very flexible with my appointments because my husband and I live 3 hours away. I will only listen to what Duke has to say when it comes to my pregnancy, cause they believed me when I said something was wrong and now my baby boy has a fighting change. Dr. Ronan Paul Sugrue and Dr. Stephen Miller are the best doctors hands down.
Dieu Merci: bad experience with theme
Cyndi Ludwig: I don’t know why the ratings are low here. I had a wonderful experience for my MFM ultrasound today and consultation over the results. Everyone was so nice and happy and helpful. Nothing but a positive experience on this end!
Amber Tovar: The doctor was knowledgeable and the sonographer was friendly. I was thankful that my visit here went well because I did not have a positive experience at all at a previous clinic. I did not have to wait long at all but the lobby here is spacious.
Elizabeth Cooke: cant rate 0 stars but this place is a mess! nasty front desk ladies, nasty nurses, Drs treat you like they know your body better then you do! bathrooms are nasty too! they are the worst Drs office i have ever been to! Can never get an apt on a day im off even when scheduled a month in advance! NOT RECOMMENDED!
Felicia Dunn: Staff was super nice and reassuring. 10/10 recommend!
Ashton Merck: Not sure what is going on with the other reviews, because we had a very positive experience. Check-in was fast, we didn't wait very long (10 min), and the ultrasound tech (Nicole) was very friendly and personable throughout the appointment. We left feeling good about our baby and our choice in provider.
Stephanie Gaines: Yesterday my anatomy scan was scheduled for 9am. We arrived on time and checked in. The lobby was full of women, they went to the back, people that came in after us went to the back, but at 9:45am we were still waiting. I went to the front to check if everything was ok at 9:20 because they have signs that say to let them know if you've been waiting longer than 15 minutes. I left at 9:45 so very disappointed because I was hoping to find out the gender. They called me at 9:59 to reschedule; no thank you, I'll find care elsewhere. If I could leave a half star I would.
Alexandra Hershey: Ultrasound technicians and doctors have been wonderful... front office is a mess. I have a complicated case so have had half a dozen appointments and never been seen within 45min of my scheduled appointment time. (Even when i tried scheduling the first appt in the morning.)Personally, im willing to put up with it for the quality of care, but extremely frustrating and time consuming. Please improve your wait times!!
fiveSTAR drEAms: I'm not going to put the entire team in this category but ECHO.... the worst experience ever!!! Treated my wife as if she wasn't even human. We are switching to UNC ASAP!!
Jose Velez: Really bad experience for my wife’s 36 week ultrasound. Doctor and sonografist were really rude and unprofessional. We did not enjoy that special moment at all. The doctor was Maria and the sonografist was Allison.
John Hill: To get here, drive to the fourth floor of the parking deck.
Despina Viniotis Curtis: Incredibly knowledgeable, kind, proactive, and can’t beat the fact the best of the best doctors are here!
Danielle L: When we arrived there was three other couples in front of us. Our wait time was good. We checked in and waited maybe 10 min before my sister name was called. The lady who was doing our ultrasound seemed like she was not happy to see us come in greeted us very poorly. The other people in front of us was greeted with such enthusiasm and smiles. And we were greeted like we were a bother. Once in the doctors office she kept hugging and puffing and seemed very irritated. Mind you we didn’t say anything because she never spoke a word to us. No small talk not a people person. She may be in the wrong field. Then she stated “I hope all my babies that come in today aren’t as stubborn as yours” at this point I’m looking at her like are you ok. Do you need some time off? If you didn’t feel like coming to work you should’ve stayed home!! She was way to aggressive. Wish I would’ve remembered her name but I know the face and will not go back to her again. FRONT DESK STAFF IS AWESOME!!
Ryan Gardner: The staff was great, especially the nst nurses! I did not experience exorbitant wait times, and I was there frequently towards the end of my pregnancy. All of the Ultrasound Technicians were very personable and professional. My questions were always addressed in a caring manner.
Rhoda G: Schedule an appointment very early in the morning to avoid the long wait times. I learned that from my first appointment where I had to wait 30 mins more for my ultrasound.
Amy Ehman: Ultrasound ran nearly an hour late. Snippy, unhelpful front desk.
Mark Riggan: Absolutely terrible with wait times. Cannot express this pain enough. Waited well over 45 minutes
Jonathan Oakes: No matter the time of day, nor how early you arrive, you are gauranteed to wait a minimum of 30 minutes after your appointment time to even begin your visit.
