Ride the Sky Stables: what do users think?
rebecca owens: This is a nice little riding stables, well kept and pleasant to visit. Horse used for my lesson was a nice safe sort, very good for lessons. My instructor Laney was great and the lesson she gave me was just what I wanted it to be!
Martha Corral: On May 10th. I had an appointment. I paid in advance, before I arrived to my appointment I called several times due to difficulties to find the place...No one answered the phone, finally I arrived to the place, and no one was outside, I called again, but I was 100% ignored. After several phone calls ( ignored)I sent and email to request my money back, and still waiting until today. On my opinion, very unprofessional way of doing business.
Holly Alford: My daughter has been taking lessons here for a few months and we love it. She has learned a lot so far and can't wait for her lesson every week!
Isaac: My wife is an excellent rider, but I know nothing about horses, so I decided to take lessons for a year to understand this foreign concept of propelling myself forward on an animal whom I've never met before...Over the course of the year, Andi, Adam and I worked on mastering the fundamentals of horseback riding and horsemanship. Not only did I learn how to ride, but I was also taught how to correct a horse when it was not listening to my aids. Andi and Adam taught me not just how to ride, but how to understand a horse and get the most out of both myself as a rider and my horse as an athlete.Ride the Sky is not a hardcore show barn, but everyone here is hardcore about training and riding correctly. Here you aren't pushed through the levels, but progress only when you have mastered the prerequisite skills. This means you will take longer to learn the basics, but will progress much faster when you are ready for advanced riding. If you put the necessary time and effort to developing a solid foundation, you will be able to build on it quickly and effectively!I'm still at RTS, and the axiom that is always repeated around here is "you are either training a horse or un-training a horse whenever you ride - there is no in-between." So if you are unsatisfied with your riding and want to improve or break through your riding plateau, visit RTS. If you're new to riding and want to understand your wife and daughter better, check us out. If you think you're hot stuff, come see how you stack up against the folks here and leave with some great new friends.
Sharon Lau: Ride The Sky is not your typical riding school where students are thrown into large group classes and just told to go around. The owners and trainers are all so knowledgeable not only in teaching people how to ride but also teaching people how to train and take care of their horses. They really care about helping the student progress at their own pace to the level they wish to be at. The low key, family friendly atmosphere is ideal for beginners learning how to ride and more advanced students learning how to train. The variety of disciplines available offers students the ability to try almost anything! Truly a wonderful place to be!
Andrew Massie: This place is AMAZING, well kept and very professional!!!
Talia Nappi: Honestly the best place I've ever kind to ride. With friendly people, and an accepting community, you're almost sure to love it here as much as I do. I can honest-to-god see myself being here forever.
carly Yonkovit: Good teachers and horses
John O'Sullivan: Great place and instructors! I am seventy years old just retired. I decided I wanted to learn the basics of riding so as to be able to ride with my wife and grand daughter. At RtSS, I learned skills of riding and of communicating with a horse as I walked the horse from the pasture, groomed it saddled and put on the bridle for it. I did a lesson a week for 6 weeks and now am ready to move up and practice some basic trail riding Andi, Sue and Bora were all great. I recommend it highly. Good location right between Chapel Hill and Durham at I-40 and Hy 54.
claudio hortoneda: We arrived, owners walked on by and never attended to us, we decided to leave and right as we leave, the owners decide to attend us but it was too late and we left either way
Fred Lybrand: They did a great job for 10 girls at our 6 year olds birthday party!

Dead Broke Farm: what do users think?
Adam Wu: Very pricy (170 for two people), staff were obviously not well trained (someone in my group fell off their horse because the saddle wasn’t properly equipped), trail was long but nothing happened during it other than following the staff who was riding way too fast. Just ride in silence for 2 hours. Don’t even get a chance to take pictures.
Christian Rosenfeld: Nice farm with beautiful horses. The one hour trail ride was a blast. Friendly staff, will get you going no matter what experience level.
Meredith Horner: This is a wonderfully peaceful and fun place for a child to spend time. If you have animal lovers, and want your child to attend a camp that nurtures that and also teaches them how to take care of them, this is the place!!
Kara Durrette: My son had never been to a horse camp before, and he was so excited to go to Dead Broke Farm! They exceeded our expectations, and we will be visiting often. He became "best friends" with a horse and they went above and beyond to let him ride that horse when possible at camp.
Larry Peterson: This was a great experience me and my wife had an excellent time. The pictures are real when you see the horses they are well taken care of sometime when you see a picture, it doesn’t be like the real thing once you get to a place but Dead Broke Farm is nothing short of the website. Our tour guide Greg was great. Greg thank you again for the great experience. I would recommend anyone that loves horseback riding to chose Dead Broke Farm.
Brigid Lynn: I'm updating my original review from last year that is below. We're back again this year and my daughter is still loving summer camp at Dead Broke Farm. She's 10 and attending multiple sessions this summer! She looks forward to going so drop-off is easy and when I pick her up she's full of stories, happiness, and pride. I love seeing her learn and grow in this experience!------------My daughter LOVED Dead Broke Farm camp. Every day she looked forward to going and I picked her up tired and proud. She learned so much. She will definitely be going again and we are excited about her future experiences!
Kim Zdanowicz: Awesome summer camp! This is our fourth year and plan to come back next year.
Michelle Melvin: My daughter has attended summer camp this week (8 years old) and every day at pickup says it was the best day ever! Trail riding, crafts, other kids to play with — it’s a tremendous experience!
Kyndra Gilleeny: Me and my husband paid for a private session and it was amazing! The horses Nemo and Igor were the sweetest and well mannered. The owner of the horses was a sweet man that really loves his horses and it shows. Our tour guide was Katie and she was the best! She was super friendly and helpful. It was overall an amazing experience and I will be returning. All of the horse are beautiful and well cared for and the trails are nice. I highly recommend this place to anyone, it is worth every penny.
Connor The Guy: Blue was a great guide!
Isabel Botello: 5 stars for the Guide named Blue! He made the ride so enjoyable. If you go I highly recommend requesting Blue as your guide.
Obsa Ali: My experience this past weekend at Dead Broke Farm was elite. From the moment we called in and spoke to Carla, to checking in with Jeannine, and lastly riding the trail with Ashley we were met with nothing bur grace and compassion. We enjoyed the 1 hour trail with our horses. The trail itself was beautiful, nice, & cool. I definitely recommend this place for folks looking to go horseback riding in the Raleigh area.
Meyling Chang: Great time riding Dusty! He was well trained and a kind horse to ride. The trail was a nice shaded trail through the woods/forest too.
LibertyNotary OfBaltimore: Went riding for Mother’s Day and my husband’s birthday. Horses wede beautiful and AWESOME! Great experience - The Hasty’s party of 6
Thomas Venetta: My wife and I recently went on a 1 hour ride at Dead Broke Farm. Our experience was awesome! The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and the horses were fantastic. If you're a beginner, somewhat nervous or anxious, or seemingly otherwise just don't "fit the mold" of a horseback rider (physically or mentally), DO NOT WORRY! They will take care of you and ensure that you have a wonderful experience. Heading back to the farm sometime soon!
Beth Defranco: Fantastic private ride with Cara and the two horses Hawk and Mudslinger. The horses were extremely sweet and minded ever command. We have been trail riding a handful of times at different places and this was by far one of the best. We did a private ride which lasted a little over an hour through the woods. Everything was so peaceful. They even take a few photos of you with the horses for some amazing memories. We no doubt will be back.
Melissa Reilly: We had a blast on our trail ride!!! I brought my two teen daughters and they loved it! My 7 year old daughter rode for the first time and the horse they put her on was so gentle and the guides were very patient. It was not just a flat paved trail, it was a beautiful shaded ride through wooded trails. The staff was all very friendly, we will definitely be back again!!
Ollie Trick: I went to dead broke farm a couple years ago, for my birthday, and had the time of my life. I’m an experienced rider, so I chose the private ride and we got to trot and canter in the trails. The horses were in AMAZING condition, the area was nice and clean and all horses seemed happy in the pasture. The staff were amazing, I don’t believe we met Carla On that trip, but the other people there were amazing. I loved it so much that I just scheduled another birthday ride at dead broke farm this week. I’m super excited! We rode the horses named Nemo,Tommy, and one other I can’t remember the name of (sorry). But overall I loved it. People in these reviews need to chill out, horses are risky. Owning a business like this takes a tough person.
Nerre Shuriah: My daughter has participated in the spring break camp twice now. She loved it both times. They go horseback riding twice a day, and learn to groom and care for the horses. There are also other animals around the farm such as dogs or donkeys that they play with or feed. It's really a wonderful chance for them to be outside, get a farm experience, be away from technology and build friendships and horse riding skills. The counselors are kind and guiding. The girls form attachments to the horses. We will definitely be back.
Dame W: Horrible experience, first let me say I’ve rode and owned horses before, and some of those saddles definitely weren’t properly secured. Additionally, we brought my dogs due to other planned events, because it’s a farm, and they where secured in my truck. The owner walks up to my truck and aggressively tells me I have to get those dogs off her property as 8 other dogs run around freely. I calmly respond with absolutely can I have my refund so that I can leave. She yells, “no, I’m the owner and you can get off my property.” I respond with that’s fine I will leave once you return my money. Bottom line I didn’t get my money back the owner and her employees are rude, entitled, liars, and they ruined my sons birthday wish.
Likia Smith: Josiah did a great job guiding out private tour. He was a life saver when my horse's saddle wasn't put on properly and I fell off when it slid right off of her. But at least my daughter and her friends had a great time and that's all that matters.

EasiHorse Farm: what do users think?
Tamara Clary (Art Teach On The Go): I am an experienced rider but rusty. I’m heading out west in a week and wanted a great lesson to get me ready for all the riding I’m about to do. Allie gave me a lesson, I so hope I remembered her name. She was wonderful and so experienced! Thank you for a great lesson and all your patience. I will definitely return for more riding! The property consists of 37 acres or more beside a state park.
Androsiuk Julia: Terrible, I don’t advise anyone. Someone didn’t come out to meet us, there were only a lot of dogs that rushed at the car. One dog scratched the car badly. Service and hospitality at level 0.
Rebecca Hesch: Just had my daughter's 5th birthday party here last weekend. She had looked forward to it for WEEKS because she loves horses. Unfortunately I got a sprained ankle the day before so I was hobbling around, and my daughter had a stomachache so she only rode the horse once, but overall we'd totally do this again. The weather was great and all of the kids we invited absolutely loved it and thought it was the best idea. Cassie answered all my questions well and was very easy going. The party space is inside a fence (chickens and dogs will still try to sneak in though 😆), has a shed with a fridge, we could bring whatever drinks and food we liked, had a bathroom a short distance away, and lovely fairy lights strung up. They did an excellent job getting everyone to sign waivers and get helmets at their arrival. The horse ride went around the ring and a little into the woods and the kids enjoyed the carriage ride aspect too. And the animals were a lot of fun to feed... excluding the emu who was a bit nippy that day. Definitely a good experience.
Jaima T: My granddaughter just finished camp at Easi Farm. I have not seen her that happy since before the pandemic. Thank you for a great program.
Jonathan Venezian: Beautiful farm with great friendly people. Also: llama! Also: emu!
Inna Zolin: We had our son's birthday party at Easihoese farm. Everyone loved it. Horses are well maintained and calm, everything was well organized. Horseback riding is safe and enjoyable here. The owner (we worked with Cassie) was a pleasure to talk to - attentive and kind. There are other animals too - goats, bunnies, lots of chickens, bigs, and even two peacocks. Highly recommend this place to all animal lovers.
Karen Hart: This was a great family experience!
Clifton Harper: Great personal trainer with one on one horse experience for a 2 1/2 year old to become familiar with a horse, and try sitting on the horse, and light riding. Farm animal area could use some upgrades and cleaning as well as road entrance/exit in and around facilities.
Tamiaaa: So amazing!! Went today with my friend and everyone was so nice and helpful…we learned how to groom, tack and ride and most importantly had fun on the trail while learning more about the farm.
LaLa Swann: Took my teen niece today. We both have never ridden a horse but love horses. Had soooo much fun!!
Ross Ackerman: An outing for a birthday party was great. Farm life for a few hours. Friendly staff and great horses.
Kate Hamilton: We have had the BEST experience at EasiHorse! Cassie is so kind, patient, and fun with kids of any age. We feel safe and comfortable at all of her lessons. Our time at EasiHorse with Cassie is the highlight of my daughter's world right now! We can't thank her enough.
Chavonna Counts: Cassie was sooo sweet with my little one he really enjoyed himself by the end of the visit he was convinced the horse was his horse. Also you can really tell the animals are very loved and cared for.
AnnMarie Johansson: Love this place so much!!!!!!❤️❤️
RaJade Berry: We had a great ride today! Thank you 💕
Chloe Oliver: My husband and I had a great time at our riding lesson today! Very iinformative, lots of fun, and we loved meeting all the animals. They were also very kind and helpful when we had to reschedule our initial date due to rain.
Carrie Miller: Great first experience for kids with horses, at a reasonable price. Fun times spent outside!!
JacLynn Dabbs: We just celebrated my daughter's fourth birthday with a party at EasiHorse Farm. It was a great experience, all of the kids had a great time. The staff were all friendly and helpful. My daughter even got to help brush the horses and sponge bathe the pony after they finished riding. The covered picnic area made for a great location to enjoy the birthday cake. Feeding the baby goats was an added bonus to a wonderful afternoon.
Cosmin Tache: Cassie was really nice right from the beginning. Even though they were fully booked for the time that I wanted to come she managed to find a way to honor my request. My girlfriend loved her birthday surprise. The horses are gorgeous and you can take a walk around the farm to meet the other animals that they have there. I was extremely happy with my experience at EasiHorse. I would recommend it anyone, since you get a lot of value for the money you pay. We will probably come back in the Spring!
Joshua Mendez: It was my girlfriends and my first time riding on a horse. Cassie was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about everything. She introduced us to our horses and took us step by step on everything. From spending time with the horse to actually riding them Cassie was there to guide us. We had a great time here and will definitely be coming back with friends!
Anthony Glenn: Took my girlfriend here as a surprise since she loves horses but has never ridden one. I chose this place due to others giving positive reviews and the prompt responses from Cassie. I emailed Cassie to inquire about the trail ride. We exchanged several emails due to my questions and wanting to find a time we could arrive. Cassie was very prompt with her responses and super friendly and professional. We were able to find a time the next day. We showed up and the young ladies who were in charge showed what to do and were very helpful. They showed us how to groom the horses, how to put the saddle on, basics on how to ride, and guided us on the trail. The staff was super friendly. They went above and beyond. We never felt uncomfortable or confused. My girlfriend absolutely loved it.They were absolutely amazing. They even allowed us to walk around the property afterwards to visit the animals. The horses were super friendly awesome. I would highly recommend anyone who can should visit EasiHorse Farm.

Brightleaf Stables: what do users think?
alan khorram: We had a wonderful time and very professional service there. The lady in charge Heather was wonderful. She and here staff was very friendly and the took good amount of time to make sure we get what we wanted. I did horseback riding in another places but this is by far is the best.
Bilbo Baggins: Love the staff; really awesome experience
Lindsay Wagner: I decided to surprise my husband with a random date night and knew that a little time with some sweet horses would lift our spirits so much!! Ms. Heather was a delight to work with, made scheduling very easy, and was so fun to chat with and learn from during our one hour trail ride. The only downside is that I now want to go every other day, which I probably can’t swing, lol. Seriously if you would like to kick off a date night with a relaxing one hour trail ride before heading off to an amazing dinner in Durham or Raleigh, look no further 🐴
Libby Perry: Update 3/11/23: we've done several trail rides here now and have always had wonderful experiences. The horses are great and the trails are so fun. We've never done the same path twice and it's always a good time with just the right amount of challenge. Very different than other trail rides I've done in the area that are a little less exciting.Original review: We went for a trail ride yesterday here and had the best time. We had 4 kids (ages 9 to 14) and 2 adults plus 2 employees on horses that came with us. The trail through the woods was beautiful, fun, and mostly shaded! We will definitely be back!
Fabian Heitsch: Great location, great trails, and excellent team! My daughter and I have been riding at Brightleaf Stables for over a year now, and it's been wonderful. Heather and her team pick the right horses and make sure that learning riders feel safe but also challenged (thus keeping them growing in confidence). They also make sure that riders learn about horse care, which in my mind is an essential part of the experience. Over Thanksgiving, family from out of town visited and Heather organized a trail ride. The youngest family member was clearly apprehensive getting on a horse, but Heather did such a wonderful job making my niece feel safe and enjoy the ride that she didn't want to get off at the end. Thank you!!
Scalp Micro Durham: Amazing time at Brightleaf Stables.. Heather we really appreciate you sacrificing your time to acommondate our family for Christmas Portraits. Hats off to a beautiful staple and even more an amazing family!Best,DeMario
Danielle Holm: This place is probably great for kid lessons and an occasional walking trail ride, but it’s clearly not designed for adult experienced riders. Literally, a preteen introduced herself to me as one of the instructors. Yeah, no. And while I absolutely understand that grooming the horses is important, to me that’s the job of the stable staff so that the horse is ready and waiting for you to jump on when you get there. I was paying for a one-hour riding lesson, not to spend 20 mins brushing your horse, cleaning its hooves, and tacking it up. On top of that, the entire time I was trying to groom the horse, she kept trying to bite me. The instructor watching me clean her hooves (because that doesn’t seem weird to have the paying customer clean horse hooves while the staff stands there watching) had to keep warning me to watch out because the horse kept trying to bite me as I was bent over holding its feet. At no time did she bother to step in though until I finally stopped and asked her to finish. I commented even then that she didn’t seem in the mood to be ridden, but was ignored. I went up on the horse, tried to do a couple exercises, but the horse was not having it. She kept kicking out her back legs, putting her ears back which I know all too well to mean that she wanted to get me off of her, and even tried to reach back and bite my leg. The instructor offered to just do a walking trail ride instead, but that wasn’t what I had come here for. I came for a lesson, which clearly was not going to happen. Now it’s a half hour into my hour and she asks if I want to switch horses. And have to spend another 15 mins grooming and tacking it? By the time we’d get back to out to the field, we’d have had to turn right back around. I didn’t bother and just ended it there. Very disappointed and will look elsewhere for real adult lessons.
susan currin: A wonderful writing experience.
Mary Pait: My boyfriend and i recently went to Brightleaf Stables for a trail ride for my birthday. Heather was very friendly and knowledgeable in answering any questions that we had. I enjoyed the ride and so did my boyfriend up until the end when no breakfast caught up to him. Heather was great stepping up and provided some snacks and drink that he needed. The next day he received an email checking on him and how he was doing. Thanks for going above and beyond and we will be back. Mary and Steve
Richard Thompson: Great place to get experience with horses. Not just riding, but what it takes to care for them.
Glenda Noel: I rode there 2 times a week and it is a great invierment
Stan BEEKS: Brightleaf provided my grandson, Chase, with a wonderful experience that will last a lifetime. Many thanks to his instructor, Heather. 🐴
Heather Hunt: A great place to bring young children for riding lessons or a birthday party. The instructors are patient, kind, and friendly. They worked with the kids to get them comfortable with the horses, telling them about the food they ate and how they liked to be brushed. They picked horses that were appropriate for each child and paid careful attention through the lesson. The horses were friendly and docile. An excellent experience!
Nathan Church: Today was the first time my daughter has really even seen a horse up close much less ridden. Her instructor (Bailey) was extremely patient and although my daughter was nervous at first by the time we finished the lesson all she could talk about is how she wants to come back. Easily recommended and we will be back!
Ashley M: Heather and her crew are the BEST! So patient with beginner riders. This was second time at Brightleaf for trail ride will always go back! Thanks Heather
Global ART Network: The experience from start to finish was great. The staff was customer friendly, task oriented and thorough. It was a pleasure being around the horses 🐎.
Amanda Bost: Had a great time with my 3 year old on his birthday meeting all the horses. Highly recommend, we had a really lovely time. The owner was kind and knowledgeable and answered all our "horsie" questions. We will definitely be back!
Clare Callahan: My 9-year old nephew and I had a wonderful experience at Brightleaf. I took him for his first riding lesson and our instructor was very good with him. She had him help groom and tack the horse and clearly had a lot of experiencing working with kids in the ring. The ring itself was huge and the mare my nephew rode was very gentle. Plus, there are two very sweet boxers and a cat on the premises that love making friends!
Devan Groulx: Lots of fun, excellent staff, everyone is friendly. The horses are well looked after and behaved. We were trained out on our first date, but it was easy to reschedule for the next day. Highly recommend.
takiara cadlett: I took my daughter to brightleaf stables for a beginner horse back riding lesson for her 9th birthday. Everyone was very friendly and the owner was beyond patient with my daughter. The owner worked very hard to accommodate a day and time to assure my daughter birthday surprise could come true. Please do not hesitate when booking. Adults or children it is beyond worth the experience. My daughter will be back for more lesson. Thank you again for a wonderful experience. ❤
Kebreeya Lewis: It was a beautiful day! We enjoyed the private ride! The hosts were so friendly and helpful! I definitely recommend and will be coming back! Thank you! 🙂
