The Latimore Family: I love this school I've been going here since 1st grade and I recommend it even though our assistant principal Mrs.sandy post and Our principal Mrs.Mary Bohr are no longer at penny road,Our new principal Mr Williams and our assistant principal Mrs. Williams are very nice also. Also Mrs.bohr is opening a new school in garner and Mrs.Post is working at a school in West Virginia. If mr Williams says who are we, We say WE ARE PANDA PRIDE!

I love the way the teachers smile and wave as I drive up..And the children that walk my grandaughter to the car are so polite and sincerely nice.They say "Good Morning and have a nice day" each morning and afternoon.I am from out of town and surely appreciate seeing the positive climate at the beginning of the day and the end! God bless the school indeed!

Jeffrey Juliano: Great volleyball courts with lights and water fountain nearby. The restrooms at elementary school is open to outside when school is not in session. Maintenance crew keeps it clean.My only wish is for a shower near volleyball court, like North Cary Park has.

Over the years popular teacher staff and memorable people left and the school felt worse and worse over the years, I have heard of other teachers leaving and I can't imagine that school without them. I am very sad about this. This school used to be so nice but the management has gone down. Its such a shame, my review until 2014 would be 5 stars then 4 stars and now 3 stars.

Joshua Murari: Great place to play sports or have a picnic. I mainly play basketball here and occasionally volleyball. The courts are great for both. Plus they are surrounded by trees and they block the sun most of the time.

A_Huge_Nerd 27: buses were okay, teachers were not bad and very strict on homework. forgetting homework means you sit for 5-30 minutes doing nothing outside on the dirt. great playground, and I got in trouble because some kid got sand on him while playing in the sandbox, teacher told me to go home on bus instead of going to Lego club and the next day asked me why i didn't go. only one good teacher in 3rd grade.

The diversity within the student and staff population is great and that is something that was important to our family when choosing a school. There are plenty of opportunities for parents to volunteer both in the classroom and at school-wide events. If you like the year round schedule, Adams is a great option!!

Williams (PlayerWM86): I was a student from August 1991 to June 1992, and then from August 1993 to June 1995 - and it had its ups and downs (and things I would love to regret), but I somehow turned out OK in the 1994-95 year before I moved to Underwood Elementary in the 1995-96 year. I even managed to make friends with some teachers and their children along the way between 1994-95. This school was the start of my adventures in the Wake County Public School System.

Judson Vickery: With the lack of leadership available from within the WCPSS, individual principals along with their staff and faculty are the major determining factors in a schools overall success. Adams Elementary is fortunate to have an outstanding principal in Douglas Hooper, who is very active in the day to day activities of every child in his school. Bullying should not be a concern for any parent considering sending their child to this school as they diligently teach methods of avoidance and proper response from other students as well as staff. Not just a beginning of the year warning, but a well thought out and implemented plan to keep awareness of this potential problem high. Character recognition is a year long acknowledgement of students who exhibit good citizenship and all students are encouraged to strive for this recognition.Education is well above par. One of my children needed extra assistance for help with dyslexia, which is why we left the private school we were attending that only offered a outdated and rigid plan that was not working. Adams elementary staff evaluated my child, developed a plan specific to his needs and kept me informed at every turn about his progress. Two years later and he no longer requires any special assistance and is a mainstay on the honor roll. Advanced courses are available as well. If your child performs better than average you do not need to be concerned that they will be overlooked in order to bring lower performing students up to grade. Whether you seek it out or not, if your child exhibits a higher than average ability to learn, they will be recognized by their teachers, tested for ability level, and then you will have the option of having your child participate in advanced instruction classes.As a parent you also want to feel welcome in your childs school and this is easy at Adams. Go to lunch with your child or volunteer to read to a group of your childs friends at lunch and you can see first hand the environment they get to enjoy at Adams Elementary. I have also found every teacher my children have experienced to be very open and responsive to email communication.Adams Elementary is a year round track system school. This may seem very foreign to those not accustomed to the schedule, but do not let this scare you away. I have been pleasantly surprised by the ease at which my family not only accepted this situation, but learned to appreciate the positive aspects this schedule offers. No more being bored to tears by the end of summer break, and memory retention is aided by the shorter yet more plentiful breaks.Adams Elementary is a incredible school and I consider myself lucky to have been able to send my children there.
