Edna Fish: Drove there from Wilson today to share the experience with my grandson who has AU. Normally nothing holds his attention for more than 20 minutes or so. He was smiling and engaged the 2 hrs. we were there. That's partly b/c he was having a blast and partially b/c the store owners are amaZing!! Best mining experience from the mountains to the coast. Thanks Treasure Quest for helping us make some happy memories.

Boilermaker Devil: Simply amazing. Had our son’s birthday party here and it was astonishing clean and so much fun! The owners are super friendly and do such a great job with running everything, being patient and knowledgeable, etc. The kids all got amazing assortments of gems and the room for cake was well stocked and worked perfectly. The shop is fascinating to explore, even if you have no knowledge or experience with gems, fossils, and the like.Overall, just a really fun, well-run establishment that I highly recommend for kids and adults of all ages!!

Kat Stephenson: This was our second time because we had so much fun at our first visit! The kids, 9 and 13, have loved building their gem collection. The prices for the mining are such a steal and you get so many incredible pieces - go for the big bucket to get some larger gems, it’s SO worth it. Plus, the store itself is chock full of gorgeous finds like real amber, gem necklaces, and so much more. A must visit for people of any age, and don’t skip the mining!

The one we bought was loaded with great stones!There is also a storefront full of gemstones, artwork, fossils, and more. My kids loved the store, and the owner was very friendly. Highly recommended!

Melissa Enoch: Found mineralogy a few months ago and now make it a ritual to stop by and discover new stones.Make necklaces and waist beads in relation to chakras as it helps to have a focus and have found this shop to be helpful.They have rough and smooth stones, larger geodes, cages, pedestal and even singing bowls.I love just walking around and being moved by what I see wanting all that I see and to share my findings with others.

Laurel Matthes: I ordered ricks that we’re supposed to be 3-5” and blue, lavender and gray. I received brown rocks that were at least 7-8” and several were much larger. I was told that I got what I ordered and they would not take them back. I do not recommend buying anything from The Rock Shop!

R FL: Had deliveries several times over many years. Very easy to work and extremely considerate. If I were the staff at the rock shop I would get mad at me but they never do. I change my mind and delivery dates and can be annoying. About a month ago they delivered and spread gravel for me at a price of less than $500. A different company quoted $1800 for the exact product delivered and spread. I didn’t call that second mentioned company but someone trying to help me did. There’s no reason to call anyone else in Durham…. This place is the best deal and I think the best product.
Audra: I thought I could pick up a few rocks for painting. They specialize in landscaping and tend to sell in much larger quantities than I was interested in, but the owner (?) was kind enough to let me rummage around in their spares and extras. No pressure and it was an entertaining few minutes, should I ever need to paint by the ton, I'll know where to go! I was able to find a few fun pieces, so crafters should stop in if they're in the area.
hepptino: I got 2.5 yards of the 40 compost with the 32 dollar tiller. They delivered promptly. There was an issue with the tiller so they upgraded me to the 100 dollar tiller for free. Nick helped me through using the larger tiller and came by to make sure I was able to handle such a huge tiller myself.What good prices for compost! What above and beyond customer service. Those on the phone are so patient and helpful. The deliver crew went above and beyond.This company not only did their job perfectly but went out of their way to make sure everything worked out for me. 15/10 experience.I felt I had to write this review with how satisfied I was with this service. If I had gotten the dirt and tools from Lowe’s it would have costed me two to times more just on compost.
mark osborn: Never Again. Went to pickup a couple of yards of leaf compost which they advertised on their website. Waited 30 minutes to get into the lot as a delivery truck blocked the entrance. Then I found out they no longer sell the aged leaf compost. Great. So I bought the certified compost which was a mistake as I had to wait another 30 minutes to get loaded. This used to be a good place. I've made my last purchase from them.
Scott Wallace: Ordered top soil from the Rock Shop and the quality of soil was very high and the delivery was on time. My delivery time was 10-12 and the driver called me at 9:30 to let me know he was loading the truck and he arrives at 10:00. This was excellent service - thanks!
