Andrew White: Secur-Tek installed a security system in my store and it was great. I was previously with CPI and did not feel like I received the kind of monitoring I needed for the price I was paying. Marc Larin helped me set up the system and was able to work with all the requirements I gave him. My store has people coming in 24/7, even after close, and therefore needed a system that would not be set off by these people but also secured the areas not available to these customers. Marc and his installion specialist were able to give a solution that fits perfectly in my store. Roy Yonkers: My dealings with Secur Tek have been nothing short of outstanding! We recently moved from a home that Secur Tek had done both the security system and the audio system for the home. The experience was such a great one that when we purchased our new home we of course called Ken Henke to see about both security and audio for our new home. Besides installing a state of the art security system that can be accessed through an app on a smart phone Ken also showed us the Sonos Sound System which was perfect for our new home. We now can have awesome audio in any room that we choose as long as we are within the home wireless network.The team at Secur Tek is equally awesome as the products that they sell. The technicians are professional and polite. They totally respect your home while they are working in the home. They always arrive at their schedule time and their work is extremely neat. Rick Burch: I contacted Secur-Tek Inc to replace a security system that was previously monitored by ADT. Sales representative Marc Larin was extremely helpful in assessing my security needs while trying to utilize some of the components that I already had. Marc gave me several options at different price points to select from. Upon my selection I then paid the customary half down deposit to order all of the necessary components for installation. A few days later Secur-Tek's Lead licensed security installation technician David arrived promptly at the scheduled appointment time. David was very thorough, professional, and helpful throughout the entire installation process. David neatly integrated my new system with the other components that I had to update the entire security system that Marc and I had designed. With new software and features that are state of the art I was given training by David with great patience and explanation. Marc Larin and I had a follow up telephone call that afternoon. Marc wanted to make sure that I was completely satisfied with the new system, software, and monitoring package that I had chosen. Todd Baright: Great experience all the way along. Tricked out our house with door contacts turning lights on, even takes photos inside the house when the alarm goes off or when someone disarms. Great app with status, history and you can set the alarm or disarm from anywhere. Good people for sure.

Jack Thompson: This is a fantastic company with great customer service. I called American Alarms to help me with an old DSC unit that was installed in my home. Not only did they have the technology and expertise to get my old unit working, they significantly modernized it. My system is now state of the art... doorbell camera, Mobile Application, GPS "fencing" with reminders, and best of all 24/7 assistance from a great team in the local area. When my unit goes off or I have any issue I am immediately assisted by the owner of the business or a knowledgeable technician from his team. The monitoring fee is comparable to the giant do it yourself companies and the equipment is sold at cost(you also own the equipment which is huge.) Unfortunately small business such as this suffer on google because the only people who comment are those who want to go out of their way to harm the business. I would recommend American Alarms to my friends and family over and over again because they are absolutely the best choice in the area.

Danny Moshier: A family member of has been using The CPI security system for quite some time now, and after a recent issue when it mattered most, the company will never see business from anyone my family can possibly get in contact with. Luckily the resident was out of town but their apartment was broken into and robbed of many valuable items, when my relative called to ask what was going on and see if CPI could send police they did not give her an answer. When she called back, they said “you need to stop calling you’re clogging up our phone lines”. Meanwhile while this “security” company was showing blatant disrespect and lack of care for their customer, a burglar was rummaging around her apartment. Safe to say they need to focus a little more on the security portion of their companies values. Terrible terrible terrible company who only cares about the over priced installation fee.
Courtney Flowers: They are not a very convenient company at all! Their claim to allow you to manage your own account you cannot I’ve been asking to receive a bill for over six months NOTHING! Don’t even get me started on their payment process it’s literally pre 1999! If your alarm goes off it takes them over 20 minutes for them to answer the phone. The HOLD TIMES ARE HORRIBLE at all times of day to get assistance with anything. The communication is terrible you call on Tuesday and you might get one answer then call back on Friday and you get another answer! They are not consistent with anything. I honestly should’ve stayed with ADT I will be going back!
K Mc: Been with CPI a little over 30 days was having the issue prior to and not impressed or happy. I would advise to NOT get their doorbell camera it is the absolute worst. You would think since they market themselves as leaders in the industry their equipment would reflect that. When it comes to their doorbell and outside cameras. I have a google nest doorbell camera that is 10000 times better and of course we didn’t find this out until after install. I’ve had alarm companies before so I know the game. They sales rep Justin was very nice and responsive to get the sale, but now it’s like hey we got you under contract so we get our 3 or 5 years (in my case 3 refused their 5)+ equipment regardless if you stay or go. They don’t even give you 30 days probably cause they know the more you use it the sooner you discover below par and of course the follow up from the 800 number & Techs is horrible. The attentive sales rep now sends you to them for handling so as you see once you sign it’s done. Buyer beware do your due diligence I tried, but still got got.Doing FYI: advising we did call per their response when they posted it and they didn’t call us back or follow up in any way. Years back I would have said it was a great company but I've had such a negative experience trying to deal with this company for six months now that I'm over trying to be nice. Nobody there seems to know what is going on from a customer support perspective. I went through the paperwork to suspend billing for 60 days during a house move where I was transferring my contract over. Mind you I'd done this successfully a year+ back. The suspension never happened so I was billed monthly and assured credits to the account which never happened. Every time I called for a refund I was billed again right after the call (three times in on month even). Forget trying to talk to a manager either. They've got more excuses than customers for why you can't talk to one. Eventually I *thought* I had this resolved. The double billing stopped and autodraft is working as it should have. Flashforward to today where I'm being told my account is in collections for no payments. I can't wait for this contract to be over so I can be done with this company.Service:Technical support

ADT Security Services: what do users think?
Jenny Lee: My contract is set to expire on May 21, 2023. On May 13, I called ADT customer service and informed them that I wanted to close my account when my contract expires. They told me I had to wait until May 19 to call back and close the account. On May 19, I called ADT again, and they said only a manager can handle the account closure. I waited on the phone for 2 hours, and finally, a lady answered my call. She said she could help me but asked me to wait on the line. I waited for 20 minutes, but she never came back. This is how ADT provides first-class service. Do not choose them. They are very attentive when they need your contract, but once it's signed, they completely change their attitude. So far, I have been waiting for 2 hours and 45 minutes, and I am still on hold. They claim to provide the best service in North Carolina, but it's a complete lie. It's extremely alarming.

I know how this game is played -- he's not 'SELLING' me one, he's 'GIVING' me one!! fine print: with a $50/mo. subscription that I can't get out of.Whatever, dude came up, i was in the middle of a non-pausable game and I told him straight up that I don't want it, he tried to get me to name 'a friend who could use $2000 of security' and that 'newhomeowners are the most targeted', blah blah. Again, I told him no thanks i'm not buying what he's selling literally or figuratively in the nicest way possible and literally just said 'I'm good have a great weekend' -- again I was in the middle of a game and i didn't feel like being marked on a Friday at 8pm?! He was SO RUDE. He just huffed, "I'm NOT SELLING you anything ma'am, I'm trying to GIVE you something" and gestured rudely at me and stormed off. Again, I know this tactic, i'm not going to fall for it, find a better mark. Just so rude for what? ADT (and the others like it) are already predatory enough, they don't also have to be a*holes
Hans Kindsgrab: Cameras do not work. UPS driver hit my mailbox. Garage camera failed to record but my nest doorbell camera did. They know cameras are terrible as now using nest cameras at ADT but won’t replace mine!
Anonymous: I’ve been a customer of ADT for 17 years. I recently moved and tried to set up new service but the Customer Service Agent was new and kept on asking over and over again what my new address was. She asked it 4 times. I asked her why she’s not writing it down…and she hung up on me.I then called a Supervisor to report her and told the Supervisor that I would not renew my contract with ADT. I received a call from a ADT Sales Representative minutes after I hung up the phone. His name was Telvis S. He apologized for the rude behavior of this Customer Service Rep and promised me that if I renew my contract with ADT, he would be my personal account Manager and I should call him directly going forward anytime there was a problem and he would fix all future problems. I was given all his contact info. I signed the contract. Installation was done but there were hiccup problems left and right. Key Bobs didn’t work, Doorbells were broken, work had to be done on cameras and they would forget the cameras…or the keybobs. This went on for like 4-6 months. It was infuriating. Telvis told me he had control over these issues but he kept dropping the ball. Eventually they would be fixed but I was seeing them on average 1-2 per month for 4-5 months.Now I’m approaching month 6. Fire alarms went off Thursday Friday and Saturday. I called Telvis and got no answer. I texted him and sent him an email. No response. I tried calling customer service several times but they’d put me on hold for 20-40 minutes and then would hang up on me! I finally called him this morning and he had blocked my number.I called The Cancellation Dept and told them I wanted to cancel…that I was within the 6 month Money back Guarantee. They said they would not let me out of my contract because they required the opportunity to be able to attempt to fix the problem 3 times before I could cancel (there’s nothing in writing or signed that says this is a requirement. It’s just their policy) . They told me I have to pay $7,500 to end my contract. Needless to see I’ll see them in court.RUN FROM THIS COMPANY. You’ll be sucked into a 5 year contract which you can’t get out of. They’ll make you buy $5,000 worth of Their equipment (which is not an option) and if you want out later, you can’t use their equipment (even though you paid for it) because it’s non-transferable. It wont work with any other system because they create their own products and they aren’t transferable.

There are many many other options out there for you!Representatives are rude, do not listen, do not take accurate notes, and do not make requested changes to services. If you have to talk to anyone from this company I strongly encourage you take their employee identification number and take notes. Hopefully they don't lie to you like Tammy and say they don't have employee identification numbers!My service was not cancelled when requested and ADT continued to charge me for services after my cancellation request.Representatives straight up lie (especially Tammy, who also said there were no notes from my previous charge, when the manager was easily able to find the note that I called and nothing else) When they are being close to "honest" they choose their words VERY carefully so as to mislead you and withold crucial information. Even when directly answered a question they answer it as minimally and inaccurately as possible so you think you are getting one thing when you're really getting something entirely different.Oh, and when you call them out on lying and misleading you, they simply hang up. Wait times when you call to speak with anyone are absurd.

I could redesign their instructions booklet to match the ease of using the handheld and new wall units. I like the simplicity of the new system. I am appreciative of the upgrade to 5G and wished that was clearer from mail and email communications. I hope we all (existing customers) get on board so our alarms systems will work in an emergency. Also liked calling in, customer service was on their game as well. (We the consumer, must be like herding cats!) Been a (Brinks/ADT) customer for 18 years and like the flexibility of the company to keep up being responsive! Ha ha! I love the scramble!
Nathan Gardner: Our service technician who replaced our battery for our control panel was wonderful. The fact that I had to pay $25 for replacing a battery that went bad in a year and a half, I’m not happy about. I also was not told by the person I made the appointment with that it would be $25. But it was typed in their notes that I was told. Completely untrue. I like the service and the technicians, but I do not like fees for things out of my control and that are not adequately communicated with me.
