Divya Vaidianathan: My son had very few words and no phrases at 2.5 years of age. So we were concerned and brought our son to see Ms. Helen. She did an initial evaluation and set some short term goals for us to work on and progressively added onto them as he improved. In therapy sessions, she used comprehensive material and toys to engage and interact with my son while getting him to say more words. She taught us tips, techniques and gave us material that we used at home on a regular basis. My son showed tremendous improvement and achieved age appropriate speech after 5 months of therapy. Ms. Helen is warm and offers positive words and is knowledgeable and always open to answering any queries we may have. I highly recommend Cary Speech Services!

Jennifer London: My daughter was having trouble with her K and G sounds, and she wanted to work on them before kindergarten so we reached out to Cary Speech Services. I was actually doubtful the televisit format would work, or that my kid would stay engaged, but the lessons are short and targeted and Jan has excellent exercises to follow up with. I think it actually worked out better because when my kid got shy trying to say words she struggled with, she was still in her home and could take a moment to get comfortable again. She completely resolved the speech issue in about 7 weeks and she was confident her new friends would understand her. We did work on the exercises consistently to get that result. Highly recommended, don’t be afraid to try the televisit format before deciding if it will work.

Beth Eades: My kindergartner was having trouble in the first half of the year and they weren’t sure what it was. I reached out to Cary speech and after an assessment agreed that my daughters speech could be improved. It was the S, Th, etc. I was skeptical of starting Telehealth because my 5 year old is squirmy. She started in February and the progress was better than I imagined. My kid was glued to the iPad/phone for the call. She was engaged and Jan kept her focused. We loved it and after a few months, she fixed her S and th in conversations and while reading books. I’m beyond impressed with Jan and happy that telehealth was so successful. Thank you!!

Steve Karius: My son needed some speech services during the COVID pandemic. We were worried we would have to delay getting him the help he needed. We were pleasantly surprised to find out Cary Speech Services did online therapy and our insurance covered it. Jan was such a terrific therapist. Online was really ideal for us as my son was enrolled in Virtual Academy with Wake County. We really worked with him at home after our meetings online but the weekly therapy sessions and accountability were key. I have nothing but great things to say about this entire practice (My son also worked with Helen years ago to correct a stutter). My son is more confident, he learned to read more easily and just overall happier now that he can communicate with everyone.
Kelly Veley: We have had a wonderful experience with Jan! She is so knowledgeable and really fun for kids! At first, we were unsure if speech telesessions would be effective for our 4 year old but we have been so impressed with the progress he’s made using this method. The sound and video quality is excellent and my son does even better when seeing the way his mouth moves on the screen right next to Jan’s. I would definitely recommend trying this. We have been so happy with the progress we’ve seen and it is so easy to do it from home!

My son went to Christy Johnson for speech/language therapy between 4th and 5th grade. Christy always made it fun and he enjoyed seeing her every week. He needed help expressing himself both verbally and in writing and Christy worked on both. She was incredibly patient yet always encouraging. She was always thinking of new ways to help him. She recognized that he would benefit from small group therapy and paired him with another child. One issue he had was that it took him a long time to put his thoughts together and verbally express himself, so Christy came up with a game that required him to think and speak quickly. If you are looking for a caring speech therapist that is creative, I highly recommend Christy!
Teletherapy with Ms. Gloriann has been a huge benefit for us while we wait for safer conditions to resume in person therapy. My daughter was released from the hospital after a lengthy illness right before the pandemic hit the U.S., and she had backtracked in her abilities.
Through the use of teletherapy for both feeding and speech, we have been able to work with Ms. Gloriann and learn how to support and challenge her skills during this unprecedented time. We have seen growth in all of her abilities that we never would've seen without the input and guidance we are able to receive via telehealth.
My son started speech therapy online 3 weeks ago. Once it became clear that we wouldn't return to "normal" anytime soon -- I wouldn't be at the office and my son wouldn't be at school -- we decided to continue speech therapy online. My wife has always been the one to take him to speech. I was always at work.
Now that I'm working from home, I've been able to actually see what he's doing. I can see his speech therapist and watch how she engages him and how he responds to her. That personal connection is what has stood out to me as a parent. I am happy he is able to keep this weekly routine as some sort of normal for him right now.

Ms. Grimme is outstanding specialist with high level of attention to details and great communication with parents. My son likes to be a leader and her child-led approach works perfect. He enjoys his therapy sessions. We get all information needed to support his language development including general knowledge on his specific language development process and practical speech tools to be used at home or social settings. I highly recommend her for those whose kids are GLPs.
Takecia Denning: My son has been going here on the every Friday since January, meeting with Amanda which is amazing. This is the second place I've taken my son for speech therapy. The first place wasn't improving my son's speech at all and he wasn't comfortable but every since I've been bringing him up Wake Pediatric to see Amanda, his speech has improved tremendously! Amanda is great with kids and always make learning fun, so your child will never be bored. I also love the fact that she'll give you material to take home to work with your child's speech as well!My only negative is the billing system is annoying and never consistent when it's time to pay each month as in the price is never the same. I wish I could just pay upfront each week.
Jessie Crockett Hoffman: The four stars is not in regards to our amazing speech therapist, Whitney. My daughter’s communication skills have improved immensely since going to her! Whitney is very good at what she does, and my daughter loves her.The billing department needs improvement. I had called and made a payment(or so I thought) for five visits in early December and had put my card on file for all future payments. At that time I hadn’t heard from, nor did I receive a bill for my daughter’s appointments. We had decided to not file to insurance and pay 55.00 a visit because my insurance did not cover speech therapy in our plan. I had to get contact information from Whitney for the billing person, so it shows how unorganized things can be.Now it is May, and I am getting a large bill when I had thought the payments were current and paid for. Getting a 326.04 bill(which doesn’t make any sense since we had decided not to file insurance), when you thought everything was current and up to date is an annoyance, but what is even more annoying is how this is somehow my fault because the billing person doesn’t remember me calling to pay. It has been an inconvenience to get a bill that high at this time of our lives. I don’t understand how my card was not charged when I needed it to be. This is why it is important for all medical professionals to take notes within the patient’s chart. I know I am at fault for not double checking my checking account for the payment, but in all reality it should have been charged on the day we wanted it to. I had to take time out of my day to lay everything out for this person in regards to visits/payments, and I shouldn’t have to do that. The billing department is incredibly disorganized. I do not think I should have to pay for the mistake of them not processing my payment when i intended them to.

Suzanne Temple: My son has been seeing Arielle for several years now and it’s amazing at how much progress he’s made. Arielle is not one to admit defeat, and she continues to find new ways to teach concepts to my son. I cannot speak highly enough of her.
Lindsay Renouf: I can’t say enough about Arielle and the services she’s provided to our son. We’ve been receiving speech services for our son for almost 3 years. We drive all the way from Fuquay every week because we have seen such improvement. She is experienced, patient, and gives me very (realistic) and doable at-home activities to incorporate into our routine to reinforce what he’s working on with Arielle during their sessions. We initially started with another practice and after a few sessions, we were not impressed with the services. Per the recommendation of our pediatrician, we made the switch to Arielle and I’m so glad we did.
Vinutha and Jeiganesh: Ms.Arielle Parsons is one of the best therapists that we have had for our child. She is not only knowledgeable in Speech Therapy but also on how other therapies (for example occupational therapy, etc.) may have an effect on speech. She has helped our child grow from a child with no words to a child who is now ready for school.
