Danny and crew were great. I had four large pines that I needed removed from my backyard. The problem was that my yard was fenced and the trees were extremely close to the house. I was concerned that removing the trees would somehow damage my house. Danny came in with a plan on how to get back there and take them down. The crew took their time and used some extremely creative solutions to satisfy my concerns. I would not hesitate to use them in the future for any tree related needs.
Piedmont Stump Grinding gave me a fair quote to remove 3 trees from my yard and grind the stumps. They came when they said they would and were in and out very quickly. The crew were professional and cleaned up all of the mess at the end of the job. Danny provided excellent advice about risk during stump grinding due to gas line proximity. Next time I have any tree removal needs, I'll be giving them a call.

As you can see, the tree was very close to the house and air condenser units They had a pulley-like system to draw the cut sections away from the house as they fell. They also provide honest advice: I asked about another tree that had a bit of decay around the base, and they could have easily suggested to cut it down. Instead, they gave advice on how to care for the tree for the next few years, and call them back if conditions didn't improve. Highly recommend!

I have had several trees removed from my wooded backyard over the years, and this is by far the best tree service I have ever used. I contacted Amigo on a Saturday, they replied on Sunday, and had the tree removed by Monday, which was Labor Day! ( Unheard of, right?) And it was their second large tree removal for the day; they started the job at 4 PM and worked until 8PM. They removed a very large hickory tree that had dropped some large branches on our deck a couple of days early, situated in very tight quarters and very close to my deck, home, and other valuable trees. They skillfully removed it by climbing only -- no cranes -- and were able to land the tree trunk segments strategically between other existing ones without any damage. I admire not only their skill, but their work ethic and fantastic customer service. Rebecca Shampnois: I was in AWE at the Blackhawk operation as the crew came to remove an unruly Bradford Pear that had exploded in growth this season. They brought a large crew, but only a few people were working on the tree itself. Every other person was hard at work with the prep and constant cleanup. It was almost like watching a choreographed ballet in my yard. They laid protective wood before bringing a large crane into the yard. They used the crane, along with a guy in the tree, to lift and remove large parts of the tree before finally removing the large bit. As the crane moved these pieces, they had a chipper out front to break down the matter, with team members blowing debris and cleaning. The whole thing, from start to finish, was completed in about 90 minutes.They finished the quoted tree but then noticed there was another smaller one leaning against the house we hadn't seen with the pear tree dominating. The crew lead asked if I would like it removed while the crane and everything were set up, and gave me an extremely fair price for the additional tree. Once they were totally complete, they went through with a leaf blower to fluff the grass to where you couldn't even tell a multi-ton piece of construction equipment had been there.I live in a very wooded lot, and I know this relationship will benefit both Blackhawk and my family for years to come. They are my #1 recommendation, and I'm proud to say, my new "tree guys."

Andrew Buckley: We called Blackhawk to help us with some tree issues we were having. They can out quickly to do an estimate with a fair price and got us on the schedule quickly when we were ready to have the work done. There was an honest miscommunication about the specifics of the work we wanted done and they offered to come right back out to make it right at no additional charge. Not a huge tree but one that concerned me greatly. A man by the name of Roger came out and accessed the situation. Not only did he work it into the schedule. He showed that he understood my concern. Mr Hill responded the same day and was on my property the following day to give me a quote. After 2 other quotes I gave the job to Hills. They showed up this week and were done in around 6 hours. Brian Henning: Hill's Tree Service came highly recommended by another tree professional who didn't want to take on the size of job I have. Unfortunately, attempts to call them at their listed number simply rang seemingly endlessly, eventually leading to a Verizon Wireless message stating the call could not be completed as dialed. The person recommending Hill's warned me that although Hill's job performance is excellent, their responsiveness is very poor (he hears many complaints of people not having calls returned). Unfortunately, I didn't even get that far -- no one / nothing ever answered for me to even leave a message.I really hope I get the opportunity to come back and change this review into a positive one, but I figured it was important to supply feedback quickly that their phone is simply not being answered.

Samuel Gaver: Our neighbors had used Hill's Tree Service in the past so gave them a call along with another tree company in the area. Hill's was prompt in giving estimates and always responsive to followup questions when called. The other company came out for the estimate a week later and every time I called to try and ask some questions they wouldn't answer or never called me back.On the day of the service with Hill's they were early, 7:15am and ready to work Hill's has a large bucket truck and was able to quickly trim and chop down the trees. "Stretch" then took over and climbed the tree with the skill that can only be attributed to a monkey. In no time the 100ft tree was on the ground. They were so quick we had them remove a couple extra trees from what was on the estimate and no extra charge. When they were done they had cleaned up the area and the only evidence that they were left was the lack of trees in the yard.Would use them again and recommend them to anyone.
