Chris Raynor: Carolina Trucking Academy was an awesome experience. The staff is amazing. Mrs. Michaela is the new owner she is doing her best in making sure is ran properly. She is strict, firm but she is fair and wants you to succeed. Scott is an awesome individual who goes out of his way to help in anyway he can. I mainly did my driving with Mr. D and that man will get you right. He is tough but it's only to make you better I learned so much with Mr. D. If I had to do it again, I would request Mr. D as my instructor. He is old school and will tell you how it is. With his knowledge I know I will succeed in my driving career. What brought me to them is they work with your schedule. I had a full time job and was still able to attend class. They let me come at 7am and leave at 12pm. Yes it took me longer than four weeks but i dont know many if any schools that will allow you to do that. I would recommend anyone looking to obtain their cdls to check out CTA.

Charles Lee: Making the decision to acquire my Class A CDL was an easy one for me since being a professional driver was the first thing I can remember ever wanting to be. Plus my wife and I are full-time RV'ers with a combined weight of truck/5th wheel of 30,000 lbs. hence the Class A (NCDMV laws concerning RV's are very vague/gray and answers even differ from DMV office to DMV office, so better safe than sorry). Now at 54 years old and some 4 years from retirement, I took the plunge. Deciding to attend classes at CTA was the best decision I could have ever made. The entire staff at CTA are the best bunch of people I have ever met. They are all so incredibly knowledgeable and willing to help the students learn exactly what they need to, not to just drive a semi but to drive a semi correctly and most importantly...safely. They honestly care and desire to teach the student and enjoy seeing the students succeed. They even catered to my individual needs of being able to attend Wednesday classes only, due to being employed full-time and made sure I didn't miss any information that may have been passed along in my absence. I would love to name each staff member and something I learned from them but this review would be so long no one would read the entire thing. So, with that said, I would highly recommend attending Carolina Trucking Academy and will tell everyone I meet in the future that expresses the desire to acquire their commercial drivers license the same thing. Yesterday was the best and worst day of my entire experience of attending classes at CTA. Best...I graduated with my Class A CDL. Worst...I'm going to miss seeing the staff members every Wednesday. Thank you to all of the staff members at CTA! You gave me knowledge and memories I will never forget!!!

Floyd Wade: I have attended the school and yesterday I pass the 160 hours required for my class A. The staff was really straight up on what it would take to pass the school and be successful. Mr. Charlie, Mrs. Donna, Mr. David, and Mrs. Teresa made sure all students have equal opportunity and there was always an open door policy. The instructors on the yard was really helpful from the pre trip, backing, and driving. They made sure every student got hands on. Special thanks to Tony he is a great instructor on backing up a tracker and trailer. Mr. Kevin thanks for teaching me how to shift a manual Transmission. This was an excellent experience. I would recommend this school to anyone looking to get there CDL.

Alaina Artis: Very unorganized and a very misleading program.

regina: Instructor to student ratio is very high, too many students..not enough driving instructors on the lot and not enough trucks available for student to train in. Ten student practicing and all sharing on one truck is ridiculous. We are on the field for 8 hours but I have to wait my turn, and only able to get in the truck to practice maneuvers 2 times a day. Both turns lasting 15-20 mins. 40 minutes of drive time on the lot out of the eight hours your there is not acceptable. Having a long list of names of who will use the truck next. Its like waiting to get on a ride at the amusement park. The instructors are very nice, funny, and amazing people. They make the best of things and is there to help you succeed despite the circumstances of the lot.I didnt like the fact that the classroom learning was online at a physical location. All my other class mates where able to stay at home and learn by logging on. I had to drive all the way to garner just to get on a computer when I could have stayed home and logged on from there. The computers they had available to use were slow and out of date. They were lagging and the people in charge at the office was not a big help as far as getting the computers to work properly. I ended up bringing my personal laptop and that did a much better job. I did feel prepared for the DMV permit test, the materials they gave us was helpful. I passed first time. The only reason I went with this school as my choice is because it worked with my schedule. Other than that the computer we learned on was terrible and the truck lot wasnt a spectacular expeRience. 3/5 stars i would say Loss of 2 stars for the main office experience (terrible computers) , and 1 star for the lot experience (not enough trucks/instructors) Even my graduation date has to be pushed back because there is a list of students behind on learning...too many students not enough instructors. All staff in the Garner main office and on the lot were nice and good teachers. Lou Hurst went above and beyond in making a video for student to watch and learn the pre trip inspection, in cab inspection and LAB/ Break test. Flora (FLO) is a joy to be around, kind, has patience, and helps in anyway she can. Marty will be there to walk you through step by step and can give you very helpful tips and is very knowledgeable. Classmates are very uplifting and were all there to learn and support one another. Good people overall.

Shamara Chisolm: I contacted this Academy because for one I met another female like myself who just completed her training and said their program was good. Second reason is because I was turned away from another school do to personal circumstances. They schedule my appointment I’m waiting 3 days for this appointment. The day of the appointment they cancel at 9AM to say the manager is out the office due to a work event. I’m sure this event been was planned so why was I scheduled on this day. And now they are telling me I have to wait to the end of the next week to get another one. RIDICULOUS & not professional in my eyes.

Minte Letta: Based on initial conversation with the academy, expectation for school was professional with extensive experience -- however upon attending, the trainers were unprofessional, with extensive crude language unfit for teaching or learning. Financially, the refund policy explained was not followed through, even though it was stated that drop out by day 5 of class will result in 100% tuition reimbursement. Very disappointed with the experience. Don't waste your money, go find somewhere else for your license.

I loved the flexibility for the three driving classes and Melody does her best find a time that works for you. They make you feel comfortable while learning to drive and help you get better each day. I highly recommend this driving school because of their good communication and quality teaching.

Julissa Nunez: As a first time driver, i booked this driving school to help me on my driving and earn my license, total scam, the instructor will answer call and text while on the road. I worked full time so the main reason for booking the school is because on the website it states they work on weekends. No one is available on weekends and she wants the client to work on her time. I ask for a refund for my remaining hours because i was no longer comfortable to get on the road with her, because she was not great at giving instructions and im a first time driver. I will be fighting for my refund with my bank because i did not finish my PAID lessons with this driving school.

Well, after a months training, I got both - full credit goes to my instructor and Express Driving school for training me well. They are very transparent, and complete focus is on your learning.
