My surgeon, Dr. Rocke was amazing, I got to meet him before and the day of surgery. Everyone talked about great his is at doing this type of surgery and he always made me feel so much better. My husband got text updates throughout the whole surgery! There were a lot of great people on the team, wish I could remember their names. Matthew wheeled me to my room after the surgery (across the hospital) he was so nice! Once I got in my room there were a few day nurses but Brittany stood out! She was exceptional Thank you Brittany! Night nurses Liz and Terrell were also exceptional. No matter how many times I pressed that call button, they came quickly with the best attitude. I really appreciate the team for taking such great care of me!

Laura Cook: My daughter was transferred to Duke from ECU on April 21. When she got to Duke her chance of survival was very very small, she was very very sick and needed a heart transplant. I am just going to say that I can not even put into words how thankful we are to All the Duke Hospital ICU 7w and Step down 6E doctors nurses and PAs.Doctor Schroder and the heart transplant Team Top notch. She had lots of very very rare issues with her heart that cause our 23 year old to need a transplant. We are blessed beyond measure for her Donor and Our amazing surgeons the Power of Pray God for guidance and giving our daughter another chance at life. Andrew Kane: My partner had an MRI taken that they estimated to cost under $400. They billed her $2600 for the visit. Extra procedures were added without informing her beforehand. Even the exact MRI she needed cost $1000 more than the estimate. This is not an insurance issue: the extra cost to her was due to the hospital charging $9000 total for a procedure they estimated would be $4000 total.You cannot trust "good faith" cost estimates from this hospital. Go somewhere else with more integrity, or more competent accountants.Update: Duke University Hospital corrected the bill a week later to be $500 instead of $2600. 3 stars for messing up the bill in the first place and causing us unneeded stress.

Verified User: Duke denied a child (Yulia Hicks) life saving care because she didn't receive the COVID vaccine that has been shown to actually do more harm than good. How this place is still in business is beyond comprehension. Luckily this child is finally going to receive the life saving care she needs at another hospital which could have already been accomplished by Duke except for the leftist ideology that they push on their patients.

E: Really, nobody talks about Jésica Santillán? They literally told her parents that they had the right to remove her from life-support after an organ transplant which they performed with wrong heart and lungs… They did nothing after she died at 17 years old, but say “we will make the steps in order to not mix up the blood type of the organs”. This is not something that you can erase feom your history.

LaTonya Finney: The care that my cousin is receiving is top notch but the valet service is a D-. The workers have to walk very far to get the vehicles. They need some golf carts to get to the different car parking lots. Treat the workers better please!

Debra Evans: I'd like to give a shout out to this "prestigious" university that received my information 3 TIMES from my eye doctor Eye Associates of Little River, and couldn't be bothered to contact me. In fact i was told by someone at my eye doctor's office that "I was at the mercy of "them" (Duke University) Real nice! I was diagnosed with an ocular cyst, which may not be important to anyone there, but its very important to me. Its causing a lot of problems with my vision, my eye waters constantly, and it obstructs my vision. Please DO NOT respond to this review with the typical response of "please contact us so we can discuss this further"! I'm done! I'll take my eye concerns elsewhere!I'd also like to add the doctor that was supposed to contact me was Dr Woodward. beatrice siaw: Duke hospital medical Pavillion is in Durham NC and they continue to be one of the worst hospitals I've ever been to. The nurse staff and medical staff are incompetent, rude, coercive and beyond unprofessional. The management is even worse. Patient safety is not practiced as one does not practice the holistic approach in the treatment and care of the patient. Implicit bias is conducted here by doctors and nurses based on race and age. also refused s for the patient to walk.

London Simone: I've never been to a hospital quite like Duke University Hospital. The doctors are top-notch and I always feel confident in their care. The staff is friendly and always willing to assist however they can. The doctors take their time during appointments and I never feel rushed. However, the hospital's size can be overwhelming and I often get lost. Thankfully, the information desk is always there to guide me to my appointments. Despite the expensive parking, I highly recommend Duke University Hospital to anyone seeking quality medical care.
