Providence Meadows Gracious Retirement Living: what do users think?
Cheryll Fleming: Kind staff, well kept facility and grounds. All of the residents seemed to be very happy. They freely moved about the property. There is plenty of parking for guests and residents. Everything is included with the rent. They even have a movie theater. Most of all I love how the staff knows everyone's name. I would love for my grandmother to live here.
Rosalie King: What a wonderful community!! Staff is compassionate and kind. Everything 1st class. Leadership has thought of everything in making this a great place and terrific value.
Carol Frohman: Providence Meadows has a beautiful campus. It has 3 floors. It's beautifully decorated and very clean. We toured the premises. They shows three really nice rooms, one on each floor. They offer many activities. They have a fitness room. We had lunch there. We were given 4 choices for the main course. It was a very delicious meal. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants independent living
Michelle Steffen: Fabulous place to have mom/dad live.
Patty Lyles: I am a current resident and was in 2 other facilities prior and can honestly say ther is no comparison. From the managers, to the kitchen, activities & maintenance staff they show genuine care & concern. There is a great comradie among residents and I consider this my home now.
Catherine Anderson: My mother lived at Providence Meadows for three years, and was very happy there. The staff are exceptional, especially the managers who go out of their way to be kind and helpful. They work extremely hard to make sure the residents are comfortable and have their needs met. The facility is decorated elegantly and seasonally and meals are served in such a way that it feels like a "gracious" living environment. I am very glad we chose Providence Meadows for my mother.
Fran Worthington: A most comfortable living arrangement. Meals are well prepared with a tasty variety. Employees are knowledgeable and personable. There definitely is cell phone service available in apartments and it works very well. Internet also is available.
Kathy Parr: We moved my mother to Providence Meadows a year ago and she has never been happier! She says she wishes she moved here years ago! The Managers and Assistant Managers live on site and are always available! They have even gone to her room to check her cell phone volume when she didn't answer, and always do so with a smile. They are very attentive to all the residents and always available by cell if they aren't in the office. There are lots of activities that my mother enjoys-from Bingo to Cornhole Baseball! There is even a walking group that goes out daily, with two different pace levels to accommodate those with walkers. The transportation system is great! Carmella, the driver, takes good care to assist the residents going to doctor appointments or shopping. My mother prefers to go on the bus than to have us drive her as she says Carmella is the best! The building is secure, side doors locked, and entry after 7pm requires a key card that all residents get. It is NEVER left open or unattended. Also, the food is great! There are no assigned seating arrangements, so residents are free to sit with anyone they choose. Everyone we ate with during her move in was very pleasant. You can spend as long as you want at a meal, many residents spending up to 2 hours at the main meal, but that is just because they choose to. Lunch starts serving at 12:30 and is done in one hour. But many residents find this a time to socialize so they go early, and linger. That is only by choice. Dinner takes about 45 minutes or less.I can't say enough good things about Providence Meadows and the amazing staff! So glad my mother is here and happy!!
Debra S: After touring numerous facilities in the south Charlotte area, our family unanimously agreed that Providence Meadows met all of our mother's requirements. Providence Meadows has everything you could ask for from varied daily activities, special programs, local trips, weekly housekeeping, transportation to doctor appointments or shopping, and three excellent meals daily. The facility is new, beautifully decorated, and maintained to perfection both inside and out.But what makes Providence Meadows truly special is the staff. The excellent managers (Windy & Chris) and assistant managers (Jan & David) live on the premises and are available 24/7 if the need arises. They consider the residents family and share in their joys and mourn their losses. The staff knows all the residents by name, and they go above and beyond to meet their needs. David, the assistant manager, recently told me that he considers it a privilege to care for "the greatest generation."Our mother tells us daily how happy she is at Providence Meadows. She says she couldn't ask for more!
Mary-Kay Sansone: My mother lived at Providence Meadows for almost a year, and while the promise of retirement living at PM sounded great, it was not delivered. Examples of problems include meals taking 2 hours, not being allowed to sit with the people she wanted to at meals, exterior doors that weren't locked (even at night), a very unreliable transportation system, a staff that was too small for the number of residents, managers who were very controlling and failed to delegate duties to others (which meant that many tasks didn't get done), and managers who refused to listen to the needs and requests of the residents. By the time my mother moved to another facility she was extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with Providence Meadows, started eating her meals in her room, hiring taxi's to transport her to doctor visits, etc. Providence Meadows failed to provide her with the lifestyle they promised. (Follow-up: my mother is extremely happy and satisfied where she is now living, and for roughly the same price. She joins many and varied activities, participates in card games on a regular basis, enjoys restaurant-style meals while sitting with her friends, and goes out to appointments and shopping using their transportation system. I never saw her this happy when she lived at Providence Meadows.)
Cherie Bradford: They are a very racist company to work for the managers are very rude to employees and residents and they have a lot of mold problems
Jim G: Wonderful place! Mom has been here for over a year now and continually tells me how happy she is. The community is beautiful and accommodating. The management and staff is what makes this community a safe and enjoyable lifestyle for all! I’ll quote my Mom, “ How could you ask for anything more?”
Brenda Brenes: clean caring environment beautiful grounds wonderful staff..exceptiona food great movie theater...bright atmosphere..very pleased
Lee Cook: Apartments are basic apartments for seniors, nothing fancy. The common areas are very nice and clean and the decor is beautiful. Many activities available. One of the selling points is that managers live in and are always available. Marketing folks are great. Also, no cell service in apartments, very upsetting. Overall it is a very nice place.

Sharon Towers: what do users think?
Kayla Kaufman: Awful place to work. Most of the employees are disrespectful towards the residents. It’s a rarity for Sharon towers to hire somebody who is actually sincere and professional. I can only speak about what I saw, and it wasn’t good. Elderly people deserve much better than this place. Staffing, professionalism, dining, hospitality has really gone down hill. Please consider other retirement communities before sending your loved one here. -Kat
Minerva Diaz: El lugar es lindo, pero la asistencia a los clientes un poco lenta
David Miller: Visited mother in nursing home.
Kevin Smith: My mom has been a resident now for several years. I can`t say enough about this secure and competently operated facility. Additionally the staff demonstrates an abundance of kindness and understanding in all aspects of care with compassion. If my mother is living here then you can bet the facility is accountable.
Yi Zhao: 感觉不错
Martin Pruitt: A lovely community for older folks in Charlotte. The staff are helpful and the food is good!
D Pearce: Wonderful staff and location.
Katie Zender: Fabulous place!

Shads Landing Gracious Retirement Living: what do users think?
Scott James: The staff is very personal / friendly. The chef is good and they serve good meals. The upper management is not the most personal IE: lack of concerns for there clients. We recently moved my mother inlaw and sister inlaw out. The cost is getting to high for the service they provide. There's nicer places in Charlotte for the same cost. Be were of the come on pricing.
A Johnson: Asked staff for assistance and was given a response of a grief and was told to my face that they are not getting paid for that and it's not their job. ( to bring a flower arrangement to an on site resident.) Also they sent out another staff member to tell me not to park under the parking structure I'm currently on my phone and not traveling while texting for the safety of myself and others. Good grief I have been parked 2.34 minutes (innreal time). I do not normally give out reviews for such attention but worming with many other local elder homes this by far has the rudest staff I have encountered. I would never communicate in such an ugly manner.
Jay Will: They have RATS and instead of working to find a solution to get rid of them, they just say it's NORMAL!;;
Dolores LaPrade: It's a beautiful senior living place. The people are friendly and the residents look very happy.
Scott Mutterer: Sad sad sad
Stephanie Robinson: Heros work there!
James Pritchett: I am treated as an equal here I am not just a member of a herd here, I am an individual with my my specific set of needs. I am well fed. Due to my own emotional problems, I often isolate which isn't very healthy sometimes. I guess that I wish that I would not isolate so much & my nerves were better.
Shirley Davis: The best, case closed.
Melinda Horton: I worked here doing private I just out passing out flyers for Gentle Touch Senior Services with my Boss. Just checking to see if someone my need Services it's the Holiday Season We don't want anyone feeling left out or just to have someone to talk walk just spend time with do house duties wash clothes keep place clean anything that needs to be done...
robert pgillips: Fantastic place with caring staff.
Jennifer Gunter: My mother was a resident at Shads Landing and during the Corona pandemic she suffered terribly primarily due to a complete lack of planning on behalf of th e administrators. All the residents were simply locked in their rooms for months. This barbaric treatment of these elderly people caused enormous psychological and physical harm. MY MOTHER WAS EVEN MANHANDELED AT ONE POINT when she attempted to walk the hallway. Of course my mother is no longer a resident at Shads and she is currently unable to function at the level as before her stay at Sads Landing. Permanent damage done. No testing of residents. No testing of staff. Neglect beyond belief. Signed by Dr. Michael Gunter M.D.
Wanda Taylor: Beautiful community
Apocalypse Now: Nice facilities and pleasant professional staff. Need to have more day outings for tenants and should look into partnering with a group or groups who want to spend time with senior citizens, like youth groups, schools, boy/girl scouts, etc. I think this would help challenge and sharpen the tenants physical, emotional and mental capabilities.
Johnny Ringo: There was no room to put a pool on this property . They must have to down the garage. Why would you have a pool here. Everyone is over 85. And nobody comes outside in the heat .
Caleb Howard: If you want to be or have someone cared for at a professional level then you found the right place.
Linda Brickman DiGiampaolo: Beautiful place for the elderly
Roxie Davis-Leonard: A place of Retirement
Kristin Hill: Went to visit with my dad when he was looking for retirement homes. Absolutely beautiful and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive to his needs.
Tennessee Responders: Very nice retirement home. Nice rooms lot's of activities are planned daily. Would recommend for someone who is still able to care for them selves.
Joan Carthan: My mom is treated well good is ample most people are friendly & Tiffany is remarkable. Clean safe place for those you love. Great location.

Legacy Heights Senior Living Community: what do users think?
Courtney Slavin: Wonderful staff…. beautifully remodeled community in Ballantyne. Happy hour is a great time for the residents to mix & mingle. Nice outdoor spaces in the front and the back.
J C: BEWARE: A consistently terrible, heartbreaking, and traumatic experience with this “memory care” facility. The administration promises a high level of care in order to get your money and fill a room but the reality is one of resident neglect, lack of training, and caregivers who work there admitting they aren’t equipped and lack the tools necessary to care for your loved ones. The caregivers not only lack training to handle the special needs of residents with dementia but also neglect to provide basic care. Because of the lack of care, my mom was left more confused, scared, and neglected and the family traumatized by the entire experience.
Amanda Roux: I would give about half a dozen of the staff ten stars. However, the rest of the staff just show up, the food is continuously Horrible, but corporate is the worst. They charge an extreme amount of money for a bill of goods they DON"T deliver on. They will even keep violent residents there because they would rather have the money than a safe place for the residents and staff. My mother has been attacked more than once. I have witnessed staff attacked as well. Residents don't want to participate in as much any more because of the one resident who everyone is just waiting for her to "have an episode". Some staff really care, but can only do so much because they are treated poorly and are underpaid and over worked. Don't judge the book by the cover here...looks are deceiving. Good staff are looking for other jobs for a reason. Corporate has forgotten how they make so much money and won't pay for decent food, really it's horrible, and won't pay the good staff hardly anything for what they have to endure. Even the microwave for the staff doesn't have a turn table in it, it's small, old, and stained. This is what I would have to use to make my mom a hot drink, if I can find a staff member.Don't even get me started on if my mom gets all her meds timely, or at all. I got locked in after hours and called the after hours phone, thirty minutes later someone just happened to walk by in the lobby area who heard me banging on the door. My mom had to pull the red chord in an emergency....it didn't work. I've seen pictures and heard horror stories from other residents and staff. I could go on, but I hope you get the picture. My mom has been here for roughly a year, only because of the good staff and health issues. Now that good staff are seeking a place that is safe, clean, and has respectable standards, I am looking to move my mom too. I hope you find a safe, lovely sanctuary for your loved one. This is not a place I would recommend.
Stacy Lancaster: For the life of me I cannot see how there are this many positive reviews. My mother was there for one month and it was such a set back for her. They are very under staffed and the staff they have on the care team could care less. They most certainly have a thief, but won't question anyone on their staff. Our friends and family had to visit everyday to check on the place. I can not count the times my mom's bed was made with soiled bedding. So much laundry got mixed up that she had nothing to wear at times. Her clothes would be inside out or backwards. Two different shoes with laces untied. She always seemed over medicated, which is probably why she fell three days in a row. They claim they advise their residents to use their walkers, but advising doesn't work.In my opinion they should get rid of every single care taker and start over. This was a nightmare for our family. If you love your family member do not send them here.
Laura Thornburg: The whole concept of a parent being in an assisted living facility is scary. My sister lives locally, and in her description, said Legacy Heights employees were friendly and the facility beautiful. Upon our visits, my husband and I couldn't agree more. It's reassuring to know our parent truly is being treated well.
Kelly Cooper: I had the best experience working with Bethany at Legacy Heights. She went above and beyond what I could imagine to help me with placement for my father. The communication was terrific and she was so friendly and truly cared about my father’s needs. She is passionate about what she does and it shows in everything she does! I would recommend Legacy Heights to anyone needing assisted living for a loved one.
Marilee Harton: If I could give them a 10, I would. My mom is 98 and we struggled at the beginning of the pandemic to find a place for her. We tried another place where she was miserable. So we tried again with Legacy Heights. She came in with a lot of care needs. At this point her health and her attitude have improved so much that she needs very little care. She does the exercise classes and that has really brought her back to health. She loves the food and the staff and is making friends. The staff is so responsive and kind to her. Is it perfect? No. But when something doesn’t work, we ask for help and they address it. So different than the other facility she tried. It’s a beautiful facility, freshly painted and carpeted. It doesn’t smell or feel institutional. It has a homey feel with lovely, updated decor. She plays bingo, goes to the theater, church service, happy hour, trivia, flower arranging, painting class, and so much more. Sometimes she’s the only one that shows up and they still indulge her.We had a family dinner there this past Sunday in a private dining area with a courtyard which was so pleasant for those of us from out of town. And while we were there, we had 6 different staff members come in to check on us and introduce themselves to the out of towners. I’m so impressed with the care and it continues to improve since the new administration has mobilized.I wish I could post her before and after photos. The pics are her room before the remodel. We marvel at how much better her quality of life is and she came from a lovely home with private duty nursing. Legacy Heights has been a Godsend.
Amy Everett: I am a senior placement specialist. I recently had the pleasure of working with Bethany, the Sales Director, and Camille, the Executive Director at Legacy Heights in Ballantyne. They went above and beyond to make sure my client got exactly what they wanted for thier mother. The Memory Care community is a very hidden gem in fhe Ballantyne area. Very clean, fresh and quaint. They refer to the end of the hallways as "neighborhoods" - there is absolutely no other words that would describe the feeling you get when you walk into the Memory care. You very much get a neighbor feeling!!!
Bethany Houde: Legacy Heights is such a great community! Their activities programs and food are top notch. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. I also love how the community looks like an actual house, which makes it truly feel like a home!
Cody Webb: Lovely place and staff.
Hailey Shope: Best place ever! friendly staff, great environment!
xenu: Great staff!!
Scott Sherrill: Beautiful home like environment with great staff
Carla Tweel: Due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to place my husband in a memory care center in December 2019. I visited several but once I stepped foot in Legacy Heights, I felt it was a special place. Diana led me through the process and explained everything to me. When I was in tears she comforted me and the care for my husband has been the same. Attention, compassion and respect are a top priority with all the care givers. They care about David and our whole family. I am very happy with his care. They listen to my concerns and do their best to make everything top notch. The facility is clean...David’s grooming and care meets high standards, his room is kept clean, his clothes washed and hung with care and the food is really good. Everyone (all employees in every department go above and beyond)....which I deeply appreciate. I’m thankful to all who care for my sweet husband. Sincerely, Carla Tweel family
65 Senior Street: Diana and the team at Legacy Heights have done a great job with clients I refer. They go out of their way to make sure residents are comfortable, engaged and cared for, and they are available when families need to talk. It's always a pleasure working with them!
Trish Cunningham: My sister and I had the obvious nerves about moving my Mom into a memory care home. My Father had just past away and we were emotional. Diana and her team were amazing!!! This was the first place we looked at but, not the last! We toured a lot of places, just so we had an idea of what was out there. But, we kept finding ourselves talking about Diana and Legacy Heights. We have learned over the past year, that it is about the people and the care that makes it the right place for your loved one. Diana was so honest about her thoughts as it pertained to our Mom, and what was right for her. Her tenure and experience made us feel like we were doing the right thing for Mom. I cannot say enough positive things about this staff! Thank you!
Ann Fotner: Legacy Senior Livings is the finest of places for your loved one. The experience and care here is beyond expectations. The compassion the entire staff has for the residents is amazing.
wendy spiegel: My father In law moved from NJ into Legacy Heights , he is extremely happy and felt at home right away. He stays busy with activities and loves all the musical performers that come.
Cynthia Pennington: We have had a very good experience with Legacy Heights. I can't say enough about Amanda . . . what a sweetheart! Mom feels that she has a friend and advocate with Amanda (oversees med-techs . . . ). She regularly gives big hugs!
Denise: Low pay and over worked stressed out staff.
Nancy Lindsay: The Legacy Heights staff is so concerned with the welfare of the residents, and makes every effort to address the concerns of resident family members. The management team members are always friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The caregiving staff makes every effort to make sure residents are comfortable, clean, and respected and that they meet the requests of family members of residents. I can't express all the praise I have for Patricia and all the receptionists, Sheila, Jamie, Grace, Diane, Claudia, and all the kitchen staff, Miquelle and activities staff, and especially the caregivers who have been there for years in Memory Care, whose devotion to residents and families is exceptional. As staff members are added they are monitored carefully by Grace to make sure they have the commitment necessary to give excellent care to residents. There are many new caregivers who do a great job too. The housekeepers and maintenance team work diligently to make sure the facility is clean and in good working order. Diana is always warm and friendly, and so helpful to families searching for just the right residence for their loved ones. Maleah is so kind and excellent in her skills in the beauty shop.Dale Ann is not only available but is in the Memory Care unit often. There are so many employees that make Legacy the excellent facility it is, and I hate I couldn't mention them all by name.I highly recommend this facility.

Summit Place of South Park: what do users think?
Tammy Drennan Conn: This facility is far from being 5 stars. They are not even worthy of one star. Terrible communication from management and certain staff. They claim to do housekeeping for your loved one but they never clean or dust anything or vacuum. Items go missing from laundry services. Toilet and bathroom rarely gets cleaned and multiple times my loved one had no toilet paper to only be told by staff they don’t have any toilet paper to be given. $4500 a month yet they have no toilet paper and bedding doesn’t get changed unless you complain. Seek care for your family elsewhere. Stay away from this facility. There were some staff that were amazing and we appreciate them but the facility in whole is far from being 5 stars
Casey: My mother moved in to Summit Place a couple of months ago, she had been in independent living for 8 years, our main concern was that she would be accepted and have plenty to do. That worry quickly subsided as her move went unbelievably smoothly and better than I could have dreamed. After a couple of months my mom has made great friends and has become involved in the community , she raves about the preaching and Bible study classes. Thanks to Lesley and the amazing at the Summit for helping us navigate what is normally a very stressful situation.
Sheree Price: My independent 87 year old aunt ended up in the hospital for 3 weeks, followed by a six week stay in a rehab facility recovering from an accident. We knew she could no longer live at home alone so we started our search for an assisted living facility that would suit her needs. We were so fortunate to be directed to Summit Place of South Park. We had so many concerns since she wanted to remain close to home but we live out of state, she needed to continue physical therapy, she had stitches in her back that she could not reach, she was unable to dress and bathe while recovering from a shoulder replacement, and she has some sensory deficits which make it difficult to communicate. Lesley took note of all of our concerns and helped us connect with all the right people. She has been living at Summit Place for about a month now and is adjusting to her new routine quite well. She loves the food and dining staff. The medical staff and aids have been wonderful in assisting her. My sister and I have had to communicate with the medical team on her floor a number of times and they are always helpful and knowledgeable. Although she said she was not interested in the activities offered, she has started participating in a chair yoga class. This was a huge lifestyle change that we had all been dreading, but it has turned out to be such a blessing.
Penelope Wilson: We unexpectedly had to move our friend into an assisted living community. Lesley, with Summit Place Charlotte, was so helpful and professional and made everything as easy as it could be in situations like this. The move in went smoothly and everything was ready in the timeframe she promised. And at every turn, the staff greeted us and asked questions about our friend and seemed to truly care about their residents. We love the location being in the center of Charlotte so all of her friends can visit too. Thank you Summit Place Charlotte.
Bobbie McCann: Summit Place earns 5+ stars considering we used a magnifying glass when considering a home for our parents. For example, I polled people on NextDoor to find where neighbors have or had their loved ones, and read their first hand reviews. Those reviews led us to Summit Place, which gave us great comfort. Conversely, that exercise steered us away from some we otherwise would have considered. This transition is a life-changing decision not many children or family members look forward to when faced with finding a home for their parent(s). My sister and I struggled with this in every aspect because we did not want to make a choice that would leave them unhappy, underestimate their needs, overestimate Summit Place's ability to meet our expectations or fill us with regret. Fortunately, none of these things happened. We made an excellent choice with Summit Place SouthPark for many reasons, primarily the staff. Our parents were welcomed with open arms by every staff member they came in contact with. But the "after move-in phase" was the critical time we waited to see what this place was all about. Would these fantastic people even remember our parents' names? Being in the apartment industry for over 35 years, we called the after-move-in day a critical point in a resident's experience. This time determines if the resident(s) will love (renew and tell everyone about it/promoter) or hate (non-renew and tell everyone about it/detractor) it. They could also land where most people do, which is being passive. Those are the "meh...it is okay...not great and not horrible. I don't hate it, and I don't love it. There are worse places I could be, but I would rather be on the golf course". The good news with those 60% or so people is you can win them back and, with some effort, move them to become your biggest fans, your biggest promoters, and typically it is with little effort on the management side. There were a few issues at move-in with our parents, but a portion of this was on us. We needed to communicate more on the process because a protocol was in place that we could have been prepared for. Other than that, things have been better than we ever hoped for. The after-move-in phase has been something to sing about. We constantly tell staff members how much we appreciate them and how grateful we are to have them caring for our mom 24 hours a day. When our father passed away, and we worried how her life would be moving forward, we found it went on seamlessly. It did so because of the love, encouragement, and consistent support of everyone that touched her life and heart in some unique way. With no reserve, I recommend Summit Place South Park for any length of stay and care. They provide care with love.
Dominic Petrillo: My mother moved in to Summit Place a couple of months ago, and I was worried about how she would respond to the new living situation. Lesley and team helped me through the move-in process and it went very smoothly. My mother really likes her unit, the facilities overall but most of all the people. It really is a small community of residents and staff and the staff goes to extra lengths to take care of and show a personal touch with the residents. This goes a long way in making someone feel at home! So far everything has been great and my mom is enjoying her new home.
Adelia Phillips: We moved our Mom and Dad into Summit Place November 2022. Unfortunately, my Dad passed in December. The love, attention and care the entire staff gave my Mother during this time was heartwarming. They had been married 67 years, they understood her loss. Outside that sad event, my Mother loves the place and the staff. They have many options of activities inside and out of the facility. The dining is very good. My Mother loves the food and the variety. They host many events and invite the family. They are always fun! I am always amazed how upbeat and happy the staff is everyday. I can’t say there have not been any issues BUT it’s not the issues it is the how you handle the problem. They always strive to do and be the best! When it’s time to put a loved one in Assisted Living, you want the best. I found that in Summit Place of South Park! A shout out of thanks to ALL the wonderful staff that work hard to care for our loved ones EVERYDAY!
Paul Redikis: Right from the get-go this place treated us like family we have been involved in looking for a place for my brother-in-law Anthony and it has been a hard show we got here they helped us took care of us made it all easy made it all work and in less than a week a week maybe a week and a day he was placed taking care of in his own room happy as a you know what
M Owen: The process of moving your parent or loved one into assisted living is really hard. When I look back at being there almost two years ago, I feel so incredibly fortunate that we moved my dad to Summit Place. We have had experience both in regular living and later, in the memory care section called the Bridge to Rediscovery. At every turn, the employees became like family to my dad and to us.Chrystal, the manager, set the tone letting us know that she was with us on this journey. She worked with us every step of the way to remind us that Summit Place was his home.Tish, the nurse in charge (and Sharon) helped manage all medication, changes, doctor appointments, and transportation if we were not available. They have treated my dad with great care. The dining staff got to know his likes and dislikes and catered to him the way a loving family member would. I can't count the number of times the custodian came to fix my dad's tv after he had pushed one too many buttons without complaint. Lesley, who handles sales, would check in on him every day making sure he felt at home and being a familar face for him.He moved into memory care about a year ago and it has truly become his family. The love and care given by Cydni, Quamisha, Mr. Will, lovely Marie-Alexis, and Roberta is remarkable. I have watched how much they put their heart into their residents, showing patience on the days where it isn't easy to be patient, speaking to them gently and with love, showering, changing, and assisting them with dignity. If you are reading these reviews because you are trying to make this decision for your parent, I assure you, there will be some really tough days. There will be things that don't go right, things not done the way you may have done it. But I hope that you can find a place like we did at Summit Place, were my dad has been truly known and loved and our family has been entirely supported.
Heather Lemponen: We moved my mom in Feb '22. She was struggling to feel accepted, find a peer group, and be treated like a human being. Leslie, Crystal, Sharon, Becky and staff, have improved and changed her life forever! She is happy and has recently started calling her apartment home! The food is really good, the personal engagement and care is outstanding, and the opportunities for families to join events is frequent and fun! Very happy and pleased. I would highly recommend Summit Place at South Park!
Chuck Gardner: The Summit Place staff are caring and competent. My mom who moved in after having her own place was skeptical. The Summit team went out of their way to make her feel at home right away. Within days mom was living her best life. She’s made lots of new friends. I used to call her every morning. Now she is too busy to take my call. They keep her active and engaged. We are especially grateful to Leslie who make the intake process a breeze.
Lynn Smith: After a few short weeks my Mom is throughly enjoying her life at Summit after resisting assisted living. From the extra attentive staff to the beautiful accommodations her quality of life has been totally enhanced. The vast array of activities offered has breathed new life into her. So very happy we made this choice.
Amy Everett: Lesley and staff are amazing. Super clean, super spacious, it really does have that "home" feel.I highly recommend taking a tour with Lesley to learn more!Even the food is delicious!!!
Michelle Mead: Staff has always been very friendly and helpful to all my needs
Courtney Barnertt: I love working for Summit Place. The staff and managers are all like a big family. I love that everyone goes above and beyond to make sure that our residents care and happiness come first. I cant wait to see what the year of 2020 has to bring.
Jim G: Summit Place of Southpark is a community that cares! The entire staff and management treated my mother with the care and attention she needed to ensure she remained in a safe, watchful and attentive environment without disrupting her quality of life.In conversation with my mother on a daily basis, she would continue to tell me how nice and helpful everyone was to her and the nice friends she made. She regularly went to her meals without hesitation and enjoyed them. By the way, my mother is fussy. If your searching for an assisted living community and if your transition is simple or complex, Summit Place of Southpark will help and guide you all the way.
Olivia Magee: My mother had a positive experience at Summit Place. They had a caring staff, many of whom had worked there for years. The activity director organized many events including a carnival in the parking lot.Meals were tasty. Dining hours were flexible. They accommodated breakfast even at 9:45. Mother sat at a dining table with 5 other residents who became her friends. We highly recommend Summit Place.
Kenya Wilson: I have been visiting some of the first class facilities in Charlotte and really liked what I saw at this one. The building is set up like a five star hotel. The room selections are nice, dining is set up like a restaurant and there are many stimulating things set up for those residing there. The staff were knowledgeable and seemed to care about everyone there. The pricing is expensive, but the care offered makes it worth it. I would like to assist several of the elderly in seeking an environment where they will be allowed to thrive. God will lead me to those people.
steve h: My mother lived in Summit place for nearly 4 years. The care she received was beyond excellent. The staff became our extended family. So good and so caring for my mother. I would give them 10 stars if I could!
Erica Moss: This is a great place to work also to live.. Not only do I like this place. I love it.. it's the best, residents are amazing, staff here is great helps with anything you need.. so come by check it out u want regret it...💖💖💖
Annette Kirkpatrick: Summit place of southpark is a nice place. We have a wonderful staff nice residence and I always smiling faces.

The Haven & The Laurels in the Village at Carolina Place: what do users think?
Jennifer J Brown: I am so honored to get to work with such a great group of people. The staff at The Laurels especially, Antoinnette, Nacole, and Crystal were fantastic and super helpful today. It is so important as a performer to work with people who have the same passion for seniors as I do. Thank you all again for making it so easy to come and perform for your residents. I can’t wait to visit again soon!
Rebecca Humphrey: I recently had the pleasure of working with Hannah on helping a family relocate a loved one from out of state. Hannah was so attentive, kind, patient and passionate about helping this family. I am so thankful for industry professionals like her.Rebecca HarrahOasis Senior Advisors Lake Norman
Jennifer Rayos: We were so impressed with the Haven and Joy and McKenzie that we wanted our loved one moved in right away! They worked with us to get him there and so far it’s been great. He seems very happy, very well cared for and we couldn’t ask for more. Thanks to everyone at the Haven for taking such good care of these special residents!
Sue Compitello: Amazing, positive experience going through a very stressful, difficult time of moving a family member out of their home of many years. Everyone was a pleasure to deal with and the facility is beyond gorgeous - above and beyond the many other facilities we toured
Joy Patterson: Our residents are all smiles every day as they enjoy delicious food, happy hour, music, cards and lots more. If you enjoy being social and spending fun times with your neighbors, this is the place to be. The best part of my day is seeing new friendships grow. Come take a tour and see why our residents love living at The Laurels and The Havens in the Village at Carolina Place.
Amy Everett: Joy- the Sales and Marketing Director is fantastic. She goes above and beyond for the residents and thier needs!
Pam Garcia: My mother is a new resident at The Laurels. She has special needs and the nurses and staff have been very helpful, and caring.
Leslie Steele: If I could give this place zero stars I would! Please do not bring your loved ones to the Laurels!! The 5 stars given on previous reviews have to be from their own employees! For $7200 a month we were told my mother would have once a week cleaning of her room, receive healthy food options, monitoring medication, a working TV and internet, shuttle service, hair salon…. I am not exaggerating when I say my mother has received NONE of the above! After three months of constant neglect and unresolved issues, we cannot move my mother out of this place fast enough!• Healthy foods consist of iceberg lettus and option of an apple or orange.• Hair Salon has been closed majority of the week resulting in long lines for loved ones to sit for hours to be seen. If you want to make an appointment ahead, no one answers the phone.• Weekly Room Cleaning - My mother has not had anyone come to clean her room in the three months. The floor in her room was so filthy they I asked an employee to borrow a broom. They did not offer to help.• TV and Internet has not been working for the full three months. No urgency to address the issue.• Medication monitoring was in the contract. Not one check in or visit in the three months.• Shuttle Service - Apparently due to Covid they do not have anyone to drive the shuttle unless it’s for a scheduled Dr Appt. Even still, you may have to reschedule.$7200 a month for what?? I can’t even imagine how misleading Haven must be! It’s been a heartbreaking experience.
J: The most appalling and disgusting thing about this company is charging my Dad $8000 dollars for rent after giving him COVID causing him to be hospitalized for one month. My father said the majority of the time when the staff came into his room they were not wearing masks (despite The Laurels having a "mandatory" mask policy for their employees). He then contracted COVID from one of their staff and nearly died. Then they had the audacity to send a bill for $8000 for the weeks that he was in the hospital and rehab. We paid the bill but we got him out of their immediately. Beyond infuriating...
Sammich Bogimon: Laurels was a great place, and it was made even better when Shay took over as director.Unfortunately, Shay recently left, and Ken took over.Yes, COVID-19 has made things more complicated, but the way they are handling things needs to improve quickly.
Roslyn Foreman: My parents are currently residents. What makes this place outstanding is the staff. All the nurses and CNA’s are very friendly and polite , always with a smile on their face. Breakfast and Lunch are great. Dinner is just ok, not as great as the other meals. They offer lots of activities and outings. I’m happy my parents are in a place they like. They really do it up for Holidays, fancy buffet dinners and throughout the year , they will do special events. They’ve updated their furniture too in Main Areas.Roslyn Foreman
Cindy Nichols: I cannot say enough good things about the Haven - memory care! We had my mother-in-law in another facility in Rock Hill, SC and she was in such declining health we were looking into putting her in skilled care. The facility in Rock Hill was horrible so we had to move her ASAP! We looked into a five star senior living facility which we had had a good experience with in the past in Snellville Georgia. We moved my mother-in-law into The Haven in February 2018. The nurses and staff there are phenomenal! They immediately set up her care plan and they have a doctor that visits every week along with someone to do their nails and hair styling. With in a month we could see a significant improvement in her cognitive and physical abilities. It has now been 9 months since she moved in. We now laugh that at age 89, she will outlive all of us. She is doing so well and for the first time in a long while is happy. Thank you to everyone at The Haven who has had an abundance of patience with her and are devoted to seeing her live her last years out in peace!!
Roy Pelkey: My mom and dad spent over 8 years at both the Laurels and the Havens. We cannot say enough about the level of care that they received. Certainly, the food and accommodations were top-notch, but the level of care from the people on the staff was what made the last years of their lives so special. We always knew, night or day, that our parents were safe, happy and in loving, capable hands. We appreciated the special personal bond that each person built with our parents, and we know that they cared as if they were their own parents. Thanks to each and every member of the staff at the Laurels and the Havens for taking such wonderful care of our parents.
Bruce Frizen: Just moved our Mother in last week. The staff could not have been more welcoming and attentive. Everyone has bent over backward to make her feel at home. The residents we have met, all said how great a place it is. Not one negative comment. They all have smiles on the faces and seem quite happy. The food is really good also. We feel that this is the best place our mom could be.
Katherine Noto: Amazing community. The staff is so caring and patient. They take the time to ensure there are always fun activities for the residents as well as holiday activities that include the families of residents. From the Grinch that stole Christmas, to horse and buggy rides, pallet painting, Easter egg hunts, piano players and so much more. This is definitely a residential facility you feel comfortable moving a loved one into.
Michele Cook: Beautiful campus, friendly and helpful staff, and their food is always AMAZING! Always gracious as hosts of events!
Jodi Valenstein: A fabulous community with a dedicated and loyal staff. Great food, great care and a beautiful environment.
