John Taggart: I had a 8'x16' shed in the backyard that I moved back 20'. I needed to pave the area and extend the concrete to around the shed.I talked to Chris (the son of Dan the Man) about the job. We were ready for this to happen. Chris calls me back in next day stating that they have an opening tomorrow, and they were out in the backyard the next morning removing and prepping area. When I came home that evening, the driveway was extended, the work area cleared and the cement looked great.Chris came back 4 days later to cut the grooves in the cement and even offered to get the dirt fill in around the driveway to the yard. (As I do not have a pickup, it came in handy.) Kathy Travis: The re-pour of the lower third of our driveway was not completed with expansion joints and we have been left with the task of acquiring the equipment to finish the project ourselves. Expansion joints are critical to direct the hairline cracks that will naturally develop over time and should have been formed during the pour or cut in within 24 hours.The bottom third of the driveway needed to be re-poured when larger than hairline cracks formed where an unsuccessful repair was attempted during the first pour. We appreciated that there was agreement with the owner that it was necessary to have the section removed and re-poured, and we would have given a high review if we were not left in a lurch. Also, like most people, we prefer to give great reviews and for a job well done and an opportunity to give kudos instead of being left with an uncomfortable and disappointing situation.I do want to mention that the first day the top half of the driveway was done well and Chris and his crew were a pleasure to work with. Chris was not there the other two days and I would be surprised if leaving us in this situation would be acceptable to him.Service:Concrete driveway building
Betty Murphy: I purchased my house about 18 months ago. I discovered that I had severe puddling by the house where the sidewalk meets the driveway. I presumed it was from years of ground settling of the driveway.However, Dan informed me the driveway was not my problem. It was the landscaping done by theprevious owners. By removing a section of shrubs and landscape edging, the proper water flow anddrainage would be restored.I was extremely grateful for his honesty and information on how to resolve my problem, saving me a lot of money.Thank you, Dan.
