Christina Pacheco: I am giving this place of business ONE star not because of poor service, but due to poor customer service and treatment of its potential patrons. I called about two weeks ago to book a prenatal appointment (approx 30 weeks here). I booked for 12/27, provided my credit card info and was all set! However, I called today to inform the receptionist I would be 15 minutes late and she said okay that’s fine I will let the therapist know and you will only receive a 45 minute message instead of a 60 minute massage because the therapist has back to back clients. I understood this and said okay. After hitting some traffic, I called around 11:30am and I wanted to reschedule. I accepted the same day rescheduling fee, no problem. I get a call two hours later saying “we can no longer accommodate you because the new appointment time is no longer available”. I said “why” and the receptionist said “our associate who booked your appointment didn’t notice it was booked so therefore we need to reschedule your appointment”. I said…okay fine. Note, I live two hours away (noted this on my initial call) and wanted something for this week. She informed me that if I reschedule my appointment I would be charged for the full service (the associate before said it would only be $30 for a reschedule) I was livid. How are you charging me for something YOUR staff failed to do. If I made the mistake then okay cool, I don’t mind, but for you to inconvenience me and then try to charge me. The young lady took a tone with me in sort of a sarcastic manner and giggled after I told I was not paying that. Very unprofessional. And for one, the policy online states that if a person CANCELS they will be charged the service fee NOT for rescheduling.

Your correspondence with my wife convinced us that this was a simple over correction by an employee and we will continue to do business with you. Yes, the response I made previously was out of immediate frustration, but you taking time out of your day to make it right goes such a long way!** Up until today, this was my go-to place to treat my wife. We have spent $904 in the last couple years for services here, but no more. We had a family emergency come up, and the appointment is tomorrow so my wife called to cancel (instead of no show), and the Spa attempted to charge a card on file (expired) the full amount of $135 because of the cancellation. Furthermore, their concession was to reduce it to $50 which is still unacceptable. I’m certain we aren’t the top clients that the Spa has money-wise, but we have referred many, and spoke highly of the place until now. Unfortunately, because of an unscrupulous “policy”, we will no longer return or refer, and will warn others. I manage an optometry office and we don’t engage in this. For that matter, nor does our family doctor or our dentist attempt to do this. Additionally, this has been the first and only time we have ever had to cancel like this (a full 24 hours before the appointment), and it will apparently be our last.

She was doing this annoying soft snap with her fingers that made it hard for me to relax. She didn’t talk and she covered my buttocks unlike massage envy. I appreciated that. I did give her the $25 gift card that was given to me and i did give her the entire amount because she showed up and was determined & she was pregnant. The parlor was soothing and relaxing in itself. I would go again but I want what I pay for a FIRM massage!

They gave my friend an appointment time via voicemail and when she called back like five minutes later they were all booked up, even though ten minutes beforehand they told me their Sunday schedule was widely available. Do not trust it. They are quite lackadaisical and unaware of the staff they have available when that is the bare minimum.

Carla G: A friend invited me here to unwind and get pampered. We went early on a Sunday morning. Upon entry the atmosphere was very relaxing and welcoming. The lighting and music was perfect. Check-in was brief with a one page form. I really liked that it included a question regarding whether or not we wanted a massage with or without talking. We were offered tea, wine, and water. We purchased the Royalty experience spa package. We actually thought we would be in the same room throughout our services because we scheduled it together. Unfortunately, that was not the case for any of our 3 services. Nonetheless, we really the experience. The staff was extremely courteous and friendly. The sugar polish and body wrap was our first service. Karen was very knowledgeable and helpful. It was a messy experience but the results were amazing! There was only one shower available. So our start time was staggered. While we waited for our next service to start, massage, we sat in a very small waiting area that was basically located in a hallway. The were 2 chairs with a small table where we sat with only a robe and flip flops on. I had no place to set my belongings that I carried in a loaner signature tote bag provided during my first service. The area was divided from the main entry by hanging beads. We could see other guests as they arrived and were guided to a room for their services. We had tea and wine as we waited. My massage was performed by Laken. Before starting, she asked about issues I wanted addressed and the amount of pressure I desired. She did an amazing job. For several days I didn’t experience any pain in my shoulder and lower back. Lunch was included in our package. Our lunch was in a room designated for couples service. There was a small tall table with two chairs but there was only room for one person to dine comfortably. So we stood up the entire time. We ordered a chicken Caesar salad. It looked great but we couldn’t eat it because the salad was too cold and the chicken was frozen. We had it packaged to go and we enjoyed tea and conversation as we waited for our next service, a signature custom facial. At this time, I still had a robe on but my friend was completely dressed. Unfortunately, she had to get undressed again above the waist for her facial. Laken also performed my facial and, again, did not disappoint. In the end, our skin felt amazing, our faces were glowing, and our bodies were relaxed. We received a refund for our lunches and 20% gratuity was included with payment. Overall, I really enjoyed the services. The accommodations during our wait time and lunch leave a lot to be desired. However, we both agreed it was not a deal breaker and we would return. Next time we will do something a little different so that we can possibly enjoy each other’s company throughout the experience. I was torn about the amount of stars to give but settled on 4 because my skin still feels AMAZING!!

Anna Pickard: I went in for a mother/daughter massage as a christmas present for my mom, but afterwards we both described a very different experience.I havent yet been to a spa location where they didn't have a standard massage, where things arguably could go badly.My mom came out feeling relaxed and well worked, even though they never used the oil she selected.I walked out hunched over and in pain, feeling uneven.I work 11 hour shifts on my feet behind a bar each weekend, and I was really looking forward to a nice massage on my lower back and feet, however my masseuse never really worked my lower back and was uneven when she worked my feet. She did however pay a lot of attention to my shoulders, which she seemed to grind into.I've had plenty of deep tissue massages before but this one really didnt feel right. I can also confirm this 24 hours later as I'm still in pain.My masseuse Alex was very kind, I loved her energy, and I appreciated how she answered all my questions. And perhaps this massage could've worked well on a different client, but what she did to one side of me she didnt do to the other side. Especially with my hands and feet. Also the grinding into my shoulders was more painful than it was relieving.

Make sure to book in advance as they are busy and may not have availability from one week to the next one so I have opted to book my session a month ahead

Raquel Martin: The personnel at the front desk were extremely rude. The manager only enables their behavior. I travel for work and love going to Hand and Stone Spas across the country but the staff here was absolutely horrible. I chose to cancel my membership even though I’ll be living here permanently. There’s too much competition here to have to drive to the next city or zip code for service or put up with the horrible treatment I get from the front desk staff. Amber: I came as a walk in with needed attention to my hamstrings, the back of my thighs due to knots from running more during my exercise routines for a 50 minute massage. I was specific on the paperwork that I only wanted this area focused on and I came here at the recommendation of a friend who said they take walk ins. I've had poor experiences with massage envy so I did not come with high expectations as I've begun to feel that I simply need to see a dedicated sports therapist or chiropractor. The lady who did my massage seemed ready to do the basic massage they would offer. I told her I wanted my hamstrings focused on, maybe a little on my calves, but not anywhere else. I told her I wanted the knots focused on the whole time and nothing else. She acknowledged that yes she read the form I filled out where I specified this, yet if I had not been specific about voicing my expectations of where to massage, she would have likely just done their basic routine massage. I expressed thinking I would need deep tissue but also that I was not sure what the different types of massage were and which would be best but I was adamant and clear about where my pain was and what I wanted to have accomplished while on the table.She ended up doing a ....I think they called it a neuro vascular massage. She mostly worked on my calves. The massage lasted 43 minutes (I started my wrist watch the moment she began and stopped it the moment she ended). I told her half way through that I was concerned that the area I wanted focused on was not getting the attention I wanted. The quality of the massage was good, the pressure was good, it was actually quite intense, she hit a lot of knots in my calves but they were not the area of issue that I came to have addressed and I left with my hamstrings in just as bad shape as what I came in for. I told her after dressing and being escorted back to the front desk that I was very disappointed because I did not feel my request and preferences were fully met. The way she responded was defensive as though she on trial or something. She said she worked on the area that was in the most need, that my calves and ankles were the most impacted due to the angle of my stride and how my feet hit the ground when running. It was as though she felt that I was questioning her wisdom and knowledge of anatomy and the human body and massage technique/knowledge. So on top of all my disappointment I was left feeling deflected when giving feedback about my experience. I don't plan on going back. Why is it so hard to just listen to your patrons and give them what they are asking for? If I'm paying you to work out knots in my hamstrings then you either work on what I am paying you for or you tell me that you can't do it and I'll go somewhere else.

Robert Cornwell: The subscription for monthly massages is a complete racket. I pay for a monthly subscription for a massage or facial and have quite a few built up. If you try to cancel you only have a month or two to use the massages or they will be taken away! I am in close to $1,000 of massages sitting there that if I cancel will be wiped out. Because there is no way that I can use 15 massages within a month! So they suggested that I put it on hold. So I put it on hold and this month I still get hit for another 70 bucks out of my account and another massage added! This happened to me twice with putting My subscription on hold for 2 months. Still charged! Now the excuse is we have to send you a form to sign. I've never had to sign a form before ,this is just another hurdle in this whole scam. Give me my money back. I don't even want my massages now nor do I want to do business with you ever again.

Chelsea S.: Came here from out of town. Couples massage was amazing. Gregory and Desiree really listened to each of our needs. Everything from start to finish was top notch.

Liz Liam: I had an unfortunate experience at this spa. I do not want to take anything away from the masseuses because they were great. However, at checkout, we had a horrible experience and we are still trying to fight with the spa because they are trying to double charge us. They claimed they were having trouble with the billing system but it feels as if they are just trying to scam us to make money. They haven’t called to figure this out and continue to try to resolve issues through text. I’m disappointed because I would’ve given them 5 stars based off the massage but this issue with paying has ruined everything with this spa.

Mariah Green: I had such an amazing experience here at the Uptown location! I would note you will probably have to pay to park, but it isn’t very expensive and the parking allowance will last until 3 AM (for me it did anyways) if you want to go out to eat or something after your massage. The entrance is right on the front of the street, you just walk in and follow the sign down the hall on the left and their door is right there on the left side of the hall! My massage was overall very relaxing, professional, and an experience I will be returning for again! See y’all again soon!
