Bruce Curry: Had been looking for the right MCM fabric to recover my Umanoff chairs for many years. I heard of Modern Fabrics a few years ago and asked for samples numerous times. They were always gracious and sent samples, but none of them worked until this year. Then I got a terrific deal on Knoll Diva in Saffron and finally got the chairs done a few weeks ago. Nothing like great service, the right product, and a great price! Modern Fabrics is awesome!!!

I was particularly interested in a specific high quality faux leather made by Ultra-fabrics to reupholster a very high end office chair. Ewa had it in stock in the color and quantity that I wanted. Colette Thompson: I've been to this store several times but have since been purchased by another company. My visit on 7/20/2022 was met by a super friendly Sales Associate, Joshua. He was helpful without hovering and allowed me to find exactly what I was looking for. He also introduced me to the Manager who was also friendly and engaging. The customer service was A+. The fabric selection is fantastic! And the prices are better than all of the box stores even with their occasional discounts. This will be my go-to store for all of my home decor fabric needs. My pillow covers and shams turned out great!

Amanda called me 8 months later to let me know she had found the fabric in California and if I was still interested in it that she would be glad to order it for me. That is what I call customer service! And yes I ordered the fabric!
Hollis Adams: Great selection of fabric and very helpful employees. Emma greeted us and helped me select some fabric for my Mother’s couch. My Mother lives in Florida and Emma researched how much it would cost for them to mail her the fabric. Amanda helped my husband, he has been texting with her this past week, he is looking for padded vinyl for a table to use for poker and board games. These are both going to be Christmas presents. We live in Mooresville, NC and worth the drive, huge selection and top notch customer service. Can’t wait to come back again.

Karen Holt: We went in to purchase fabric for 2 chairs, expecting a very difficult decision process. Elise greeted us, looked at a swatch of other fabric from the same room, picture of the rug and chairs. She then took us to the aisle of colors we needed. Elise left us to shop and told us to call her with questions. When we narrowed the selection to 2 fabrics, she came and helped us make the final call. She cut the fabric, wound it on a roll, wrapped it in plastic and sent us on our way. Very pleasant and satisfying experience! I highly recommend Interior Alternative, its fabric selection and friendly and helpful staff!

Tara Hubara: I walked into the door at 4:25pm; an associate came running towards me panic shouting “we’re closed we’re closed”. I explained that the front door was unlocked and open. “Well we are loading stuff up”. Did not offer me a time to come back or explain why they close so early, just quickly got me out of the door. Not a good way to get new business.
Susan Hancock: Front Door has beautiful fabric and accessories. They are not customer centric. they still owe me a pillow and have the trim I purchased a year ago today. No contact from them after several attempts, but they should have been in touch with me since they kept my trimmings I paid for. I paid for everything 100%. Over $1250 spent!! I don’t like bashing any business especially in today’s environment and only want to see small businesses flourish. Do you still have my trim? I paid for the cost of the pillow that I still have not received.
Shannon Lynch 704-771-9200: Needed to choose wallpaper for my builders 3 new construction townhomes going up in the SouthPark area and needed a modern vibe for the half baths. Karen Dixon and Bobbie Cox were super knowledgeable and helpful, saving me a ton of time as it can be overwhelming going through a ton of books. Very happy with the available selections.

Angela Parker: A lady named Marie was very helpful and nice. The thing that is appalling about this place is the prices. Outrageously high. I went to Joanne's fabrics and found beautiful fabric for a fraction as much. Case in point: Front Door's fabrics seem to average $40/yard. I found equally as pretty and quality fabrics at Joanne's for $15 - $20 per yard. They do have some budget fabrics, but the selection is small. When I called Front Door about making my drapes, using Joanne's fabrics, I was told there would be a 20% up-charge on the labor if they use a fabric from outside. What?! Seems snobby to me. I could understand maybe 5%, but really? 20? It's my impression that one has to be rich to shop and use services here. At this point, I'm still waiting for the owner to call me back. Left a message Wednesday. But since I'm a "budget" customer, I'm a waste of time. One last thing. With all else said above, another thing that convinces me they only cater to the "rich" is the fact that their hours are 10-4 M-F and 10-4 Sat. Well ok. Good that they are open on Sat. but what if someone who actually has a M-F 8-5 job needs to come in during the week. Who can do that? Rich women who have nothing else to do except play tennis, get pedicures and decorate their mansions. Otherwise, you have to wait til Saturday or take time off work during the week.

Jill Kiehl: Never was I greeted or spoken to. Lovely selection of fabric and lamps but never asked if they could help me and I certainly would have liked that. Many of women sitting behind the desk and going back and forth to the back. It’s just not hard to be gracious, welcoming and kind, Ladies. People want to buy something from you. Be thankful for the business and strive to gain loyalty. If you just want to be a design business, that’s great...but when someone comes in wanting to spend their money in your store, they should be the priority in that moment. Shoot, if they don’t want to spend money, just browse, what a wonderful opportunity for you to make them feel welcome. Surely you do not want a poor reputation throughout Charlotte. Just food for thought. And I’ve never understood snobbish women. But if I ever have the privilege of having you in my store or my home, I’ll show you how good it feels to be warmly welcomed and treated graciously. Sad.
Anne Hyde: I frequently browsed through this store after work. I am a very hard working Chemo Registered Nurse whom loves to decorate. I am usually in my scrubs and am clean and professional. The woman working here rarely even look my way. Ive never been asked “ do you need any help”? In fact, I feel quite invisible as I observe other women, in fashionable street clothes, receiving assistance.I guess if I were to judge them and give an honest critique, I would say they are snobby and selective as to whom they help. Hopefully this Pandemic has taught them to respect the health care workers who enjoy some normalcy, freed up from the intensity of working in their new environment. And who knows, maybe one day, God forbid, I will be their nurse. I am certain that I will treat them with respect and equality.

I've gone to numerous fabric places in the area, and I discovered this fabric store on a whim and went in to browse. They were friendly and professional. Bought a few things and returned a few times just to look. They have lovely fabrics and a wonderful selection.I had a duvet cover made that turned out beautifully and have since purchased many smaller ticket items such as trim, fabrics and inserts for pillows, and nick knacks. The owner is great and called me when the pandemic shut down occurred and personally arranged for me to pick up my order. The other ladies with whom I dealt have also been equally as kind. A shout out to Collette who gave me design inspiration by choosing some wonderful trim for me. If you are looking for decorating inspiration or if you are a fabric junky like me and just prefer to browse, you will feel at home here.

The inventory and choices are so extensive that one could be overwhelmed. staff are so knowledgeable that they wasted no time taking me to exactly what I needed. The display of fabrics and interior accessories are color organized. I have shopped for fabrics on line prior to my visit but I must say NOTHING compares to personal attention and advice from knowledgeable designers and seeing the fabric in person. Christy Jones: I went into this place and mentioned that I needed to have pillows made for a new couch and there were five women working. These five women sat behind the counter conversing as if I weren’t there and didn’t offer to help me. One person grabbed one fabric for me and then disappeared. After that I couldn’t seem to get her attention again. There are plenty of other fabric stores where I can actually find people who are willing to help so I will not return to Front Door Fabrics. Note, Multiple reviewers below say they did not feel welcomed here at all. I share that sentiment. READ through the reviews. I also do not buy the owner’s reply below. Truth, the manager found a single fabric for me. After that, forget it.Perhaps the service would have been better had they realized how many pillows and window treatments they had made for me in the past when they were at another location. NEVER AGAIN. It’s not the first time I’ve gone in Front Door Fabrics and been ignored. This is why I decided to take the time to write this review. I’ve felt this way multiple times in this store.

L M: Believe the bad reviews. I'm not sure why they have a shop that's open to the public since they aren't much interested in selling to the general public. Went in, looked around, tried to ask a question because I wanted some drapes for a bedroom - was never greeted, nor could I get anyone to make eye contact. I would understand if they were three deep in customers, but they were not. If this is how they behave when they're trying to sell you their product, imagine how poor the customer service must be after they've gotten your money?

Katherine Henning: We worked with Andrea at the store located on Pineville Matthew's road. We found the perfect fabric for our sofa. We asked for some design changes to our sofa to give it a more contemporary look. When we picked the sofa up from Midas we were amazed at the difference in appearance . Midas fabrics took our dated and worn sofa and returned a beautiful sleek and modern looking piece. We could not have imagined how beautiful this sofa could be!
rene moore: I took a lazyboy recliner in because the original fabric was worn. We discussed what was to be done, I chose fabric, and the chair was ready within the time frame discussed. Unfortunately, they completely disregarded what we talked about and most the chair stuffing was removed. The arms were hard with just the fabric touching the frame, and the shape of the back was completely changed. Not at all what I expected. They said, too bad so sad, there’s nothing we can do about it now, unless I pay again to have it done correctly.

Hope Ledford: Had a great experience at Midas Fabrics. I had gone there in the past for small projects, but this time I had four chairs recovered and curtains made. They turned out absolutely beautiful!! I worked with David. He’s been doing this a long time and it shows. He knows what he’s doing. Andrea is great to work with as well. The biggest challenge is picking one fabric with so many choices!! I’d hire them again in a heartbeat!

Midas not only has incredibly beautiful designer fabrics, everything from traditional to contemporary, whimsical to classical...but they have the MIDAS TOUCH in customer service!This particular job I recently did with Midas was not a huge one, but that did not compromise their dedication to service and selection!After describing what I needed (custom made cushions) and sharing photos of the area, Andrea was fully engaged and enthusastic in her approach. She kept in mind the color palette, availability, theme and the importance of the visual flow of the entire outdoor living area. She was also very helpful in explaining durability, and things to consider for the use in this area. After presenting me with the information and fabric choices, I felt confidient to make the best informed decsion for this project. An absolute ease to work with!I would and WILL use MIDAS again for upcoming projects as we continue to update and redecorate our home. I truly recommend Midas for any furniture (re)upholostry, custom window coverings and other design services!I also want to point out their personal, "welcome to our home", sort of vibe in thier store is to be noted. They even allowed us to take samples home. Their upholsters are absolutely top notch. My wife was grinning from ear to ear when she saw her mother’s old chairs brought back to better than new. I can’t say enough good things about them. From the store staff and the artists in the shop, to the delivery service drivers, these are truly fine people and caring professionals. a he: Went in to store a few days ago. They were 3 associates in the store. One man was checking someone out at the counter. No other customers in the store. There was a lady and a male associate there also. No one spoke to me when I entered nor did anyone approach me to see if they could assist me. I stayed in there looked at fabrics for about 10-15 minutes. Still no one spoke. ( again, I was the only customer in there)I left. No one acknowledged my leaving or said thank you! My last trip there!
