Victoria Hawkins: If i could give zero stars, I would. I contacted 50 floors to help with repair and laying down new flooring in my home i recently inherited from my late mother. The day the guy, Daniel, showed up; We had AF just returned home from my daughter having dental surgery done, so we had only been home for no longer than 10 minutes when he arrived. with that being said, i had not had time to pick up the mess of clothes in the floor that our puppy had dragged out so when he walked in he was very judgemental from the start, very rude after we tried to explain to him the situation being that yes some of the flooring was weak due to the fact that while my mothers estate was in probate, someone had broken in and ransacked the place and busted windows and stole a lot of items which made the floors open to all the damages from the weather over the year. After he quoted us, i told him that was a lot of money and I would need a day or two to think about it and see what I could do. Once he left my home, he called Child Protective Services on my husband and I. Described my flooring to them the same way he told us. Said he assumed there were rats, ( which there is not); assumed there were bugs, ( which there is not); complained about the trash in my yard( which there isnt much, considering we just had to have the property bushhogged to the imense amount of kudzu all over the place; HE THEN ACCUSED US OF ABUSING OUR DAUGHTER!!! DUE THE THE BLOODY TINGED GAUZE HANGING OUT OF HER MOUTH AFTER WE HAD JUST EXPLAINED THAT SHE HAD DENTAL SURGERY!!!shortly after he left CPS showed up at my door, WHICH WAS COMPLETLY UNCALLED FOR, I HAD TO ENDURE EXPLAINING ALL DETAILS, AND WHAT MY DAUGHTER GET QUESTIONED WHILE SHE WAS STILL UNDER THE MEDICATION USED TO PUT HER TO SLEEP. AND WHAT AS THEY ATTEMPTED TO QUESTION MY 3 YEAR OLD AUTISTIC SON!!!!The CPS cased is being closed because they did not see any problems at all in my home.I then contacted 50 floors to have something done about their worker... to which i have been told 4 times they emailed the general manager and I have yet to hear back at all!!!!I DONT APPRECIATE BEING FALSELY ACCUSED OF THINGS !!!SINCE I HAVE NOT HERD BACK FROM THEM I WILL CONTACT MY LAWYER AND BE SUEING THEM FOR FALSE ALLEGATIONS, DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER AND TRAMATIZING MY CHILDREN!!!DON'T USE THIS COMPANY IF YOUR TRYING TO REMODEL A HOME!! He was thorough and took his time to explain the different floors. He was very nice! The men that came to lay the floors were amazing as well. They were extremely hard efficient workers. The text alert/email updates were on point. I could not be happier with my floors and the process in whole.

Olivia Brown: I’ve used 50Floor in the past and had a great experience but have been having issues this go round. We had a multi bedroom floor install project where the installers ran out of material and said they’d come back the next day to finish but it’s been over a week now and I haven’t been hearing back. I’ve called several times and was told they’d email the install manager or that someone would contact me but we are still waiting for our floors to be finished so we can move our stuff back. I’m quite disappointed this go round.

Dog Training Elite Charlotte: We had flooring done in several rooms about a year ago. Salesman and installers were very nice, friendly, and professional. I had a few minor things they came back to help with after installation, however they came back quickly and fixed under warranty.

I like the quality of the carpet and salesman Tony was knowledgeable helping me choosing the carpet and deciding to go with 50floors, i had other offers,but I chose 50floor. Installer was a one man army, he did a great job.

Fea Mactire: We are in the middle of getting floors installed right now and they have been telling us that they can’t do things that the sales person told us they could do. We’ve had to call the “boss” who told them that they could do it and they are. However after getting here at 9am one of the workers left tôt go to another past 4 hours they’ve been pulling up the rest of the floor. Now they are saying they have to come back. We were told a day and a half which was fine. But it seems like when one stops working to take a phone call the others stop. They keep telling us they have to take our furniture apart when we’ve always been able to move it as three people. But this three person crew seems to argue it till we ask if we can help then they can magically move the furniture. It is now 4:15 and they are saying that at 4:40 they are leaving while we’re waiting for a phone call that was supposed to come in 10 minutes ago.Update at 5:17. Still no phone call from the higher up that was supposed to call immediately. It’s been an hour and they left the house a complete mess. All of our furniture is in the dining room and kitchen. We had to fight them to move some of it out of the kitchen just so we could get to the dog food.Update at 7:00 pm. Still nothing. We were put into a voicemail Of the person who was supposed to call us. Still nothing from anyone. I guess we’ll see what happened tomorrow morning at 7:00 am.

Natasha N: Update:Dana from corporate contacted me today and answered my questions. I'm really grateful for that. So I'm updating from one star to 4 given that the process of ordering the materials to the arrival of the materials was fairly quick, installers were on time (ahead of time) and the sales person was really nice. The only issue was the lack of/avoidance of communication from one of the local managers.A Sales person came out to my home on March 1st. I picked out the flooring that I wanted. This past Tuesday a Michael Cogema (sp?) called me, I missed his called. Called him back the same day, he answered and we scheduled my installation for today (Thursday). I was very impressed by the speed in which the materials arrived. Now, today, installers arrive early around 8:30am ( I was told somewhere between 9am and 11am) which I was also impressed by. However, once the installer got to my home and observed my floors, he told me that my floor wasn't leveled and that we would have to level it out with concrete. I asked how much that would be. The installer got in touch with I'm assuming Michael Cogema because a few minutes later Michael Cogema called me and told me how much it would cost to move forward. I was quoted $100 per bag if they went out and bought the items needed or if I did it, $60 a bag. I was told I would need 14 bags. I wouldn't have any way to get the materials to my home myself and an additional $1,400 was a bit much. Either way, that was money that I wasn't depending on having to spend. I thought that my initial quote was my final quote. Anyways, I told Michael that I wanted to go ahead and cancel since this was not an expense that I was expecting. Meanwhile the installers are still at my home while Michael and I are having this conversation. So I asked Michael about the refund and was told it would be sent to the cancellation team. I left it at that because at the time, I was frustrated at the fact that I wasn't getting my floors installed. He told me that I can contact him if I had any other questions. The installer leaves and I think of more questions about the refund as far as how long it takes to get it back given that I paid half as the deposit and financed the rest. So I call Mike around 10am, I go straight to his voicemail. That was weird to me because when I called him back on Tuesday to set up the installation appointment, there was call music. I left a voice message stating my questions and I left a call back number (even though he already has my number). Fast forward to around 4pm today, still no return call from Michael. So I called Michael from my cell phone again. It went straight to voicemail. I called again from my landline phone. Guess what!?! It rings with music but then I'm forwarded to voicemail lol. My landline shows my name. So I think he has blocked my cell phone number which is what I initially thought when I called this morning and was sent straight to voicemail! I don't know what type of shady business is going on here but I'm not having it. I don't know if they are trying to avoid my call for a period of time in order to not refund me what I've paid but someone needs to answer my call and my questions. I need the same level of customer service that I received PRIOR to you guys having my money. I need that same energy. I worked hard for every penny that I have and I don't deserve any type of run around. This review will stay at a 1 star until there is a resolution.

Gloria mitchell: Pros: I would recommend 50 Floor as they do beautiful workCons: They do not clean up. Nails in the carport. Had to get plumbers to reseat 2 toilets and under one toilet the tile is not cut up to the hole. If I ever had to change out the toilet with a smaller footprint, the tile would have to be changed. They are coming back to redo.Also the BOSS of the crew was not so friendly. Do not know if he was angry that he had to come, but the workers were super nice.They asked to use my step stool and I allowed, however they did not clean it up and it took me a while to clean.

Frank Tatum: Approximately 6-7 years ago, Hughes changed out my fake hardwood flooring the builder had installed for their "highly recommended" brand and model of vinyl planks. We were thrilled even though it was not cheap. In fact it was very expensive doing an entire first floor.Fast forward to summer 2022 about 6-7 years after installation. Two of the planks started separating. Being a huge fan of Hughes I called them to see if they could fix it. I even thought this expensive floor might be under some long-term warranty.So the head guy comes out. He took one look at the floor and said it was 1. Not under any warranty and 2. Could not be repaired. Instead he said the floor would need to be replaced. Now this is in the kitchen and the entire first floor flows in an open floor plan. So that meant the enitre first floor needed to be replaced. I choked. He said he would go back to his office and talk to the repair team and see if there was anything that could be done but he knew there wasn't.Two months later I had heard nothing and sent him an email. He responded that he was still checking. Two more months went by, and I sent another email. Nothing.One day while my carpet was being cleaned, I asked the owner if he knew of someone that could repair the vinyl plank. And he did. I called them and they came out in 2 days. Said it was a pretty quick fix when I was ready. Due to travel and then Covid and then the holidays we just had it fixed this past week. Took them less than an hour. Best part is we did not have to tear up the entire first floor.Not sure if Hughes is all they are cracked up to be. And pretty sure that even though we might want new carpet in the next year or so I will not call them.Just shows the big guys are not always the best. Just bigger.Would give a negative review if I could as one star is too much.Shop around.

Daniel Dillon Clausner Jr: We had a really smooth, pleasant experience working with Angie and her team at Hughes Floor Covering to replace some downright ugly carpet that was in our house when we bought it with a lovely Cherry Oak wood in bedrooms and a newer carpet for the stairs. We love the result, and the process could not have been easier. When we re-do our bathrooms we know where to go for the flooring.

Betsy Pullen: We bought flooring frome these people and they said it had a 20 year warranty on it and a 4 year warranty on the labor. Well after 3 years the flooring started coming apart and everytime I would call them they said someone would call me back and never would. I paid $6000.00 for the junk they sold me . All I can say is stay away from this company. I am in buissness myself and when I tell someone they have a warranty i stand behind it. Very bad buissness

Tilt_ Aspect: In 2016 I contracted with Hughes Floor Covering to replacing the carpet in our master bedroom and closet with hardwood that matched the rest of our home. Hughes Floor Covering accepted the responsibility of providing hardwoods to match the home based on their expertise in the hardwood industry. They represented to us they had matched the wood in our home, and we agreed to contract with them.In November 2018 we requested an estimate from another hardwood company to sand and apply a lighter color finish to improve the look. We eventually contracted with this company during the pandemic and the work was completed in June of 2020.We found that the wood floors through most of our house are “White Oak”. But much to our surprise, the wood installed by Hughes Floor Covering is “Red Oak” (has a pinkish color to it). This was not noticeable before because of the darker “natural” stain that was used and only visible by having the floors sanded and stained a lighter color.I reached out to Hughes Floor Covering and they said that since it was installed in 2016, they weren’t interested in doing anything and the warranty would not cover the issue. However, the issue before us is not a warranty for defective workmanship or product. It has been discovered that Hughes Floor Covering breached the agreement by not installing the proper hardwood.It was promised as part of our agreement they would match the wood. To make sure, Hughes Floor Covering cut a sample out of our existing hardwood floor so their machine would identify the exact match and prevent this exact set of circumstances.The fact that Hughes Floor Covering has as much expertise in the industry as they do and have invested in technology that supports the accurate identification of the various would species, raises serious questions about how this breach of contract could have ever happened. The fact that they refuse to address the clear error on their part raises even more questions.

Rory Purcell: - I was not impressed with the carpet team- I had to repay a painter to come in and repaint my brand new staircase and molding around the wall/floor of all bedrooms - it looks like a machine was banging on the trim- I got told on the sales pitch that this company use all their own employees and that they do not subcontract. That is not true - the carpet was subcontracted. The guys came up in an old truck with climate / air-conditioning on the side- They left such a mess on my driveway - empty plastic bottles, garbage. My electrician saw it and had to clean it up, he said it was so messy- These guys ate the halloween candy in my garage! For the children!- There was no vacuuming or tidying of the carpet once installed- The PM said there would be a walkthrough - no one rang me, they just leftHonestly the carpet job leaves me with a sour taste. This company was the most expensive (by some way) out of the 3 quotes I received. I went with them because they seemed the most professional. The carpet installation was not professional and really let the rest of the job down.

They carefully moved all our furniture and put it back after thoroughly cleaning up behind themselves. Carlo at the Blakeney office was so helpful and once it was time for install, I had great communication with Rich and Jonas. Their quality of flooring is top notch and even the LVT I put in my bathrooms. The install on the stairs was troublesome, but it wasn't MNF fault. Once they got the right tread for the stairs, it came together magically. I'm definitely returning to them when it's time for new carpet in the bedrooms!

Jacob Palmquist: Leaving a review for my grandmother who was interested in remodeling and reflooring her house after her husband passed. She had questions and simple answers as she has a hard time with memory, but instead just kept getting bombarded by phone calls and texts to her phone which she doesn’t even know how to open. They even made her feel bad over not being computer educated and not having signed or filled out something on their website. Definitely will not be going through this company and I don’t believe any company who treats an elderly widow in this manner should even have customers.

Marlin Mallory: If you are struggling to find a genuine, honest flooring provider amidst the sea of scams and deception, you have arrived! I was trying to match a very specific engineered floor. After exhausting my local supply options, I turned to the internet to try to fill my need. While several online fronts claimed to have what I needed, their reputations were deplorable and their responses automated. I was about to give up, but stumbled on Carolina Wood Flooring in a final desperate search. What an amazing difference! Real people who answered the phone, understood what I was seeking, and actually put hands on their stock to confirm that it existed!It was not cheap to have the flooring shipped across the country, but they even made that aspect easy. After reading horror stories of poor quality, unusable engineered products I was anxious to open the packages and see if I had made a wise decision. What I found was a complete home run! The flooring was solid and beautiful! My installer was quite impressed as well. He has seen many inferior products and was very happy to have quality materials for this project. Every piece was usable!So if these folks have what you seek but you are hesitant to engage, I would encourage you to give them a ring. They did me right, and it seems safe to assume that they will do the same for you.

Stephanie Miller: I can’t say this enough… THESE ARE BY FAR THE BEST PEOPLE TO WORK WITH IN THE CHARLOTTE AREA. If you ask me, Sean, Chad and Ceasar all deserve the titles of super heroes. Last year I moved cross country and purchased a home with the intention of replacing/refinishing all of the flooring. Going off recommendations, I hired a company that I now can say should not be in business and will be reported to the BBB. They installed my carpet completely incorrectly and within the first 2 months it began to wrinkle. I hounded them to come out and stretch the carpet 3 times before I was finally able to get the manufacturer to replace it. BUT once the manufacturer sent the new carpet to the warehouse my original installer refused to pick it up or install it. In a panic I started looking up lawyers and new installers simultaneously. Luckily for me, I spoke to Sean at Floor Coverings international of South Charlotte before any lawyers or any other flooring company. I had low expectations for anyone wanting to get involved in the mess that was unfolding, but cool as a cucumber, Sean advised me on how to proceed without taking matters to court. Ultimately, I just wanted the carpet replaced and safe for my kids and these guys were able to make that happen. I can see and feel the difference of workmanship. I couldn’t be happier. I only wish I had found them from the beginning because I actually ended up hiring 3 different companies to complete the flooring in my home and they all did subpar work. So I can tell you first hand, good, honest, dependable tradesmen are hard to come by, but these are the real deal right here.
