Brian Karpf: Having worked with the best landscape and pool companies over 3-4 prior properties in South Florida before our home in Charlotte, I can easily say that Metro Greenscapes is the best one-stop shop I have ever dealt with. From the pool to the landscape to the hardscape and more, there is nothing I had to find on my own. They handled EVERYTHING. And yet, their pricing is more than competitive with others in the city. The level of true care about their delivery is unmatched. My point of contact was Justin who never failed to give his honest opinion, even if it meant less revenue. This is how you know the project is more about the delivery than their own bottom line. Justin has an eye for elegance and perfection and I can honestly say that he has become a friend. His teammate Max was wonderful as well, both of them being extremely responsive and accessible (as in MINUTES). Dealing David and the rest of the crew was fantastic. They strive for perfection. There are always small issues with any project, and when the very few did occur 1 call or text to Justin (YES, he gives his cell) literally addressed them within seconds. It’s almost as if they are building their own home with every project. After contracting them to do our backyard (which was so bad we almost did not buy our home), they orchestrated such an incredible oasis that we are no longer selling the house and in fact, we want them to redo our front yard as well. Monica Debbi: I had a very similar experience to that of Syreeta Baker. The rep called my house 1 hour prior to our meeting and was upset with my assistant because I was not available to come to the phone. When she asked if I could call him back, he hung up on her. When he arrived his first words were that my property was in terrible shape and that he would not park his truck in front of it because his company had a reputation to uphold. First of all, we have a strict HOA and if things were as bad as he made them sound I would have already heard about it. No, things were not perfect. As Syreeta said, "That's why I am calling you." He did the same thing with me, throwing numbers at me to deter me. I was not impressed by the fact that other people paid him $3000 a month for maintenance and I didn't appreciate his assumption that I could not afford his services. Again, exactly as Syreeta said, he clearly didn't want my business. I too strongly felt there were a few reasons why he acted that way but decided to leave that alone. I was very disappointing as I had high hopes based on my initial phone contact with this company.

The biggest cost of our project was to build a retaining wall. When they started the project, they discovered the dirt was not compacted enough to support a wall. They were upfront with the issue and made a proposal, which ended up costing less as the project scope had to change. One of the houses in the neighborhood also had a retaining wall built but didn’t use Ivy Creek. Their wall was built but slid down the hill within months because they didn’t recognize the issue that Ivy Creek’s team did. We are so grateful that Brandon and Martin are professionals that they are and would never do anything that they wouldn’t stand behind. Additionally, we needed work done outside of their company's scope, and they recommended other high-quality vendors to use for our deck and outdoor lighting. Brandon and Martin communicated with us throughout the project, ensuring we were happy with everything. They built our retaining wall, adding 4 feet to our yard while helping fix our drainage issues. They installed hardscaping along the front and side of our house, addressing a very sloped yard while making it beautiful. They also created a walkway (and fixed it when we didn’t like the original design). They also designed outside lighting and planted beautiful plants and trees with mulch. They adjusted the design on the fly and always listened to our concerns. The final result is stunning. We get compliments from our neighbors, and our house stands out in our neighborhood. We are so happy that we are ready to move onto Stage Three with Ivy Creek. Thanks to Brandon, Martin, and the whole team at Ivy Creek for the wonderful work. Queen Lee: This company is contracted by the townhome we reside in so I did not personally hire them and wouldn't. They damaged our vehicles without warning and then denied that it was them after we SAW them. Other landscaping companies do what they're supposed to without hitting our vehicles or leaving a big mess. Ivy Creek has to be employed by teenagers that just don't care. Do better. If you're cutting near the sidewalk make sure leaves and rocks aren't hitting cars!! Common sense isn't so common anymore.
Kevin Taylor: I'm very pleased with my experience with the Ivy Creek gang. I had them build a retaining wall for a sloping hill near my house and fill in a walkway with 2.5 tons of pebbles. Andy Jamison-LeGere: We initially contacted Genesis for a substantial drainage issue we had in our backyard. Jeff was responsive, had immediate solutions, and quickly had a plan in place. He was able to give us a referral for tree removal to make room for the project that was completed lightning fast. Jeff installed two french drains for us. Clean up was immaculate, left our yard as he found it, only better and swamp free!Because we were so happy, we hired Genesis soon after for an extensive backyard project. Tear down of an old pergola, and a completely new patio, wall, two gardens with plantings, lighting, and another french drain. We were so happy with the progress, we added two walkways, and three river rock beds on the side and front of the house. Jeff was open to our ideas, and had great ideas himself. This turned into a very large project with a lot of material, machinery and "stuff" all over the place. But when the project was done, you truly would never have known there was any kind of disruption. It was immaculately cleaned up, including re-seeding of grass.We are so happy with our new living space. Deborah was my first point of contact with Genesis and she made the entire scheduling and payment process easy. She was professional and followed up the day before our scheduled estimate to make sure we were still available. When Jeff showed up to give the estimate, he was prompt and professional. He made suggestions we had not thought of and we could tell he had done this work for many years. Jeff returned to install our new patio and retaining wall and was finished within a week. Jason Lazarus: We used Genesis to put in a dry creek bed where we have had years of drainage issues. Although they were so busy it took a few months to start the project, they actually started on the day they told me they would, and work extremely hard until the job was finished. They didn't even leave for lunch, using a delivery service in order to stay on the job site longer. They were very professional and cleaned up the job site after every day. Showed up on time, and were also respectful to the other neighbors in the area with where they would park their equipment or drop off supplies and products. I felt as if they took a lot of pride in their work, and didn't cut corners. They even seemed to go above and beyond in some areas that we talked about, providing more than we had hoped for. Although it hasn't rained hard yet, the new creek bed looks great, and we are very happy with the job they did and the outcome. In the future, when we look to add some plants and other things around the creek bed, we will call Jeff and Genesis once again in hopes of working with them.

Both Jeff and Debra were wonderful to work with for scheduling and quickly addressing any questions or concerns we had before and during the work.The results:Since completion we have now had several heavy rains and all have drained away with no issue. I now have grass growing in areas that never grew before and no water pooling in my yard. Charles Hurlbrink (Chuck): In my experience the most important ABILITY is AVAILABILITY. This attribute was most evident when I procured quotes for my landscaping project this summer. I contacted 5 local landscaping companies to bid on my project. Only Jeff from Genesis Landscaping answered my call and was at my home within 48 hours to scope the job and provide me a price and a start date. He took the time to see my vision and made suggestions for options I had not considered. He also gave me many tips on things I could do to mitigate insects and weeds in my yard without harming my 3 dogs. The thing that sold me on Jeff was his integrity, he kept his word throughout the whole process which is very important to me. The quality of his work far exceeded my expectations and I feel I got tremendous value for the overall cost of my project. Multiple complaints to our HOA Henderson Properties has not helped in the least. They leave tire marks and mud from cutting the lawns when they’re too soggy. Hopefully their contract is up soon and they get a better one!
