Great Outdoor Provision Co.: what do users think?
Dr. Iva Hughes: We purchased a used Hobie TI and had trouble installing our rudder and lines. Sam was a GOD-SEND! He stood outside it the brutal 95 degree parking lot and helped us redo all the lines, reset our tension bungees and even had a drain plug that fit our kayak! The store is BEAUTIFUL, the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and so incredibly nice! They have our gratitude and will have our business FOR LIFE!
Elliott Hart: I'd give these guys 6 stars if it were possible. I was looking for a specific kayak and they didn't have it in stock- but tracked one down immediately and I had it in 2 days. Mac was phenomenal helping me out with my purchase. Sam has been unbelievably helpful figuring out rigging this boat to suit my needs/wants. He knows his stuff and has spent a TON of time emailing back and forth with me, sending me links to check out, and helping me fine tune this kayak. Walker has been very kind helping with a figuring out a kayak trailer to best suit my needs.I've worked in customer service for over 20 years (in a couple different capacities-around 18 of them in a very high end resort town) so I cannot explain how much I appreciate really excellent customer service. I am driving from Columbia to deal with these guys because they are all so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Every employee that I have spoken to in this shop has been wonderful- even is its been as simple as a greeting when walking in the door. This staff is second to none- great to see a shop staffed by employees interested in their industry and eager to share their knowledge and help customers. I will continue driving from out of state to this shop and recommending them highly to my friends and family.
Chandler Mercer: Best place for outdoor gear in the charlotte area. Also super helpful at finding the unique equipment I want or getting it sent from another store if need be. Rudy has been here as long as I remember and continues to do a great job managing the place.
M P: Not the largest selection, but high quality goods at great prices. Super awesome staff. Thanks guys! One of those stores that I never leave empty handed.
Seth Wyatt: Awesome gear and an ever better place to get insider nc tips on hiking. Glad you guys are here. Don’t change
Christine Hines: The staff here is so friendly and they weren’t pushy at all. They went out of their way to help me find exactly what I was looking for. Can’t wait to go back
Russell Rauch: Huge shout out to Sam and the team at the Charlotte location! I don't write reviews but want to thank them for their outstanding service. Purchased a Hobie Outback Kayak from Sam and the entire team has been super helpful - love the Hobie...Noticed a small manufacturing issue with the Hobie. Sam ordered the part and came to my condo on the lake to fix it -WOW! I have purchased from GOP before but your recent service has earned a customer for life. In a World lacking customer service, it was awesome to experience great service. Thank you GOP team!
Craig Schmitt: This is an excellent shop with lots of great outdoor gear. They carry all the best brands, in terms of gear. The staff is always knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful! I primarily checked out the camping gear, but they seemed to have everything outdoors related, from climbing to kayaking. It is well worth the drive to check out this store!
SS T (Chevy): Always enjoy browsing camping & kayak supplies
Nolan Dwyer: Great selection of outdoor gear with knowledgeable staff
Sophie Blosser: This store is so amazing and the whole staff is always super friendly, welcoming, and helpful! I love that I get to bring my dog in as well (and she loves it because she gets treats:) ) this store overall provides a great atmosphere and it provides all your outdoors needs and more! HIGHLY recommend!!
Colin Baker: Quick response to an issue that was initially blamed on Great Outdoor but ultimately my own doing.
Eddie Varh: Walker and the gang took care of us. We were in the market for 2 hobie outback. Walker understood our questions and helped us setup the kayaks so we can test them out. They did an excellent job helping us load the kayaks. Overall a great experience! Thanks all!
M B: These guys helped me fix an order that their system accidentally screwed up as I was passing through CLT to GSMNP on a tight timeline. They called the Raleigh store, got it transferred to theirs, honored the other store’s discount, and added one because of the system error that caused the problem-all in an hour without me even having to ask. Fantastic customer service in a way that a true outfitter can provide to save the day.
Lauren Jeck: I needed a bathing suit in November and Elijah went upstairs to get me a few in the size and style I asked for. Then he helped me find the perfect pair of snow boots. I love supporting this store, you can’t beat their expertise and quality. Thank you for being our go to store!
Mary Johnson: Great fall colors in outerwear expensive but good quality . Nice place for sports clothes for men and women
Retail Customer: I agree with others here - this is a nice place. The employees were cordial and helpful. But the pricing on the item I was shopping for was just too far out of line. There is a fair amount of stock in the store, but the brand selection is minimal - just one brand and 2 models in my instance.I wound up finding a more suitable product with better features at the river - for 2/3's of the GO Co. price. I looked at 4 other local stores and the situation was similar; to cover the costs of the bricks & mortar, the stores stock only 1 or 2 high-end brands and apply healthy markups. "High-end" in this context means "recognized name" - which is not always synonymous with quality but does usually correlate with above-average prices.Long-short, the GO Co. is worth a look, but if you have to have it "right now" you will likely experience a bit of a surcharge for that.
Jo Covington Nencetti: Great outdoor gear place, very friendly helpful staff. Love the homey feel of the store.
Dean Lyons: Best customer service in Charlotte! I’m sure Everyone is aware that it is extremely difficult to find good customer service anywhere you shop or dine at this point in time. The staff at Great Outdoor Provision Co., (especially Sam) is Top Notch. They truly care about their customers and go above and beyond to make sure your needs are met and all of your questions/concerns are answered. Wether you’re in the market for outdoor apparel, a new kayak, or even kayak repair; look no further than Great Outdoor Provision Co.
Darren Frank: Always my first stop for anything outdoors, Yeti, shoes, etc. Jacob helped us and was very patient while we went through what felt like every shoe in the store until we found the exact right ones. Employees like that are what makes this place great. Someone give that young man a raise.
Cotivity: A well provisioned outdoor shop with just about everything one would need, and the ability to order for you what isn't on-hand. Staff is knowledgeable, and attentive.

Gear Goat Xchg: what do users think?
Glenn: I bring all my bikes here. A little pricey but worth it. Bob, Brandon and the guy with dreads are really good and know their stuff when it comes to bikes. Also pick up some of their cool stickers when you're checking out. I have them all. #RADSUCKS
Christina: I had such a wonderful experience here.I was greeted and taken care of as soon as I walked in the door.I was looking for a day pack for my trekking trip. The salesman that worked there was very knowledgeable about the bags and what would be best for my trip.Very helpful in how the bag would fit me.Also, another young lady was very helpful and knowledgeable, assisting me with looking for the best type of trek shoes. Also, another young man offered to help me with bringing my belongings to the cashier.Hands down! Outstanding customer service and exceptionally knowledgeable. This is my 1st time going trekking in the Himalayas, and this was an excellent place to have found for answers. The staff was very welcoming and hospitable. I Highly recommend this store and will definitely be going back. ✨✨✨👍🍀
Douglas Brandon: Great bike shop, they're always very welcoming.
John Holmes: Gear Goat XCHG is easily the best outdoors shop in all of Charlotte. Hell, I would say in all of Mecklenburg county. The owner, Ilan, genuinely cares about his staff, the community, and his customers. Any worker that Ilan has hired, they stay on forever and always talk about how much they love being there. He works so hard to take care of everyone that walks through the door and remembers you if you're a repeat guest. There have been times where I've walked into their shop completely dead broke and in need of fixing my bike to get to work, and his mechanics would drop everything to get me up and running for the cheapest and fastest way possible. They've demonstrated a lot of love and care for everyone and even helped promote local nonprofits and group rides. They're not out to line their pockets with cash, they genuinely want to help the community enjoy being outside. Once, I went in to buy a new rain jacket and brought in my old one to show what I wanted, and they stopped me from buying one and instead gave me advice and instructions on how to fix up the old one for super cheap so that it stopped wetting out. When I was about to go on a camping trip, they stopped to ask where, provided recommendations, helped me pick out a few items that were within my budget, and even gave me advice on how to work with some of the items. In addition, Ilan's business model is a very climate-friendly one. Buying up used equipment, getting them refurbished, and then selling them to customers at a discounted rate is a great example of a cyclical economy. He's also helped promote Sustain Charlotte a number of times, one of the most active sustainability nonprofits in the region.Do yourself a favor and make this your ONLY stop for anything outdoors if you can. Any money you spend here is money that goes back into the community.
Brittany Rushen: Cool place!
Patrick Henryy: Have Done QUITE a bit of Business at Tha GOAT!!! It's an AWESOME Place!
Michelle Ferranti: Well organized, friendly vibes, high-quality outdoor gear and clothing consignments. A great concept and a fun place to shop for better brands of hiking/biking/climbing/yoga/running apparel.

Mark A. Oesterle: Excellent unique merchant who provides nitche offering. Listed my Peugeot 10 speed bike on consignment. Highly recommend this Charlotte merchant!
Stephanie Turner: Love this place! The staff is excellent and knowledgeable. And the gear they have to offer is seriously impressive.
Lea Boche: Great selection and fantastic service
Thomas Peterson: Walked in with used ski boots walked out with used hiking boots. Great experience.
Hannah M.: The employees here are very helpful, friendly, and informed. I was self conscious of my lack of outdoor knowledge when I visited to buy my hiker boyfriend some gear and the staff were so welcoming and helpful! I look forward to coming back and buying more gifts for my boyfriend. Maybe even myself!
Drew Cox: Great consignment experience, highly recommend!
Tom Baker: Want to thank Gear Goat, and especially Bob in the bike shop...solved problem on bike...took golf disc's in trade for it...money tight rt now...helped me out...big time...big thumbs up
Brandon Phillips: High quality staff, products and services at better prices
Connor Webb: They're just the best. They've got what you need. They can take what you don't need anymore.
Amie Franklin: First time bike buyers! We had 3 different employees come up to us and help with all our questions. Was a great one stop shop for beginners and experts with amazing prices and a very fun, knowledgeable staff.
Carter Utzig (US): awesome group of people who know a lot about a lot of different types of gear. great service!!! great prices!!! love Huck's smile
j watts: Love the new larger space! Lots more gear and bikes, they are now a Super 73 retailer too!
troy tomlinson: Always nice. Always helpful. I've bought and consigned with them and it's always a great experience.

REI: what do users think?
Bharat Desai: All items good quality, employees are very good,Good customer service
K H: Convenient location, good parking, great customer service.
Chloe Blalock: We came here tonight for new shoes. I was so impressed with Grace who helped us in the shoe department. She was incredibly patient and knowledgeable about the options. My husband and I both work on our feet and are picky with shoes so we tried on quite a few pair and before we knew it it was time for the store to close. She did not make us feel rushed and provided a great shopping experience even though we felt bad for being there past closing.
Allen Vance: Nice store but way overpriced
Leslie Morin: Love REI for all things outdoors!
Helen Tran: Alissa help me with my flat footed shoes and she has really nice recommendations. I appreciate her knowledge and kindness. James given me information about the membership. I may think about getting it soon. :)
Randy Silver: Wife and I purchased two e-bikes at REI Northlake. The staff in the bike department were fantastic with a special shout-out to mechanic Darrin. He came out of the shop to answer all our questions and patiently described each bike we were looking at. In the end he made the sale and we are very satisfied.
Naomi Menard: Went into the store to buy my son all the things he needs to go backpacking with Boy Scouts for a long weekend. After waiting for 25 minutes for someone to help us, we left. Very disappointed in the employees who preferred to ignore us instead of help us. We even walked up to employees and asked for help while at the hiking backpacks and no one showed up. There were plenty of employees walking around who were not busy.
Justin Slomzenski: Tim in the backpacking area was excellent! Very knowledgeable about their products and incredibly friendly.
Rob S: Friendly people and good service
Mitchell Huff: Bike shop guy was super helpful! Thank you so much. He helped me with my Thule locks.
zach korbel: Friendly and helpful staff clean store
Jeremy Conner: Great place and I truly enjoyed talking with Justin and Dillan, they’re a couple of great guys!
Ben Markoch: I love this REI! I’ve visited on multiple occasions, and whether it’s to browse or to troubleshoot, I’ve always interacted with the friendliest people, quick to assist and eager to help with whatever I needed, no matter how small the question. Special shout-out to their bike shop — they graciously helped me fix a pesky bike tire in a matter of minutes when I was expecting to wait multiple days. Absolute life savers!
Hardin H Hawes: Best gear around BUT at a premium price. Best return policy anywhere. Everyone in store is very helpful and generally love where they work. When only the best will do.Still love thie store but depending on your starting point, you might check the Pineville store, it's absolutely worth the extra 5 to 10 minutes driving. This location is half the size of the Pineville store.
woodsnwaterjcd: Outstanding customer service. Colleen went out of her way to ensure I made an informed choice with shoes that actually fit.
Michael Schmidt: Love this place! Customer service is top notch and customer satisfaction is the priority. Co-op 4 life 🏃‍♂️
RK Woods: Always an awesome experience
David Keen: Very knowledgeable staff helped me find the right hiking shoe.
Mike Roush: Riley was great and friendly
Von Shoup: Amazing Amazing Staff And Experience. Got Our Sons Snowboard Waxed and Ready in 2hrs. Thank Yall So Much👋👋👋

Ski Country Outdoors: what do users think?
Matthew E. Bentley: Best place I know for skit and winter apparel
Harold Zimmerman: Had a great customer service experience at Ski Country Outdoors Charlotte store. Had some alpine ski gear that needed attention. Got a boot fitting by Seth and with the new foot beds he fitted for me, they work great after testing them out on the slopes. Also had a pair of new skis mounted with Solomon Warden MPC bindings. Work was done perfectly and a day sooner than promised. The tech guy brought the skis out personally and was ready to engage any questions I had. They have a big selection of a lot of my favorite brands. Will definitely be back.
Amber O'neal: James is the best! He is a skilled professional in this department! He knew everything I needed for my snowboarding trip and helped me get perfectly prepared!
Kavitha Sagi: Great place! Got me setup with my skis and helmet for the season. Found alternates when my boots didn't work out after my first ski trip.
Valentina VanderWaerden: For this only being my 2nd google review of all time, this was by far the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. James is incredibly rude and unprofessional. Not only does the staff continuously complain about their lack of lunch in front of the customers, while actually arguing and back-talking to each other, they are also not pleasant, friendly, or positive in the slightest. I do not recommend getting fitted by James, specifically, or taking his suggestions for equipment. He fitted me for incorrect sized bindings, although my boots were literally right there— this could have easily been avoided. This resulted in a lot of wasted time, money, and having to go to Alpine Ski Store to find correct bindings 3 days before my trip. The staff at Alpine was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable!
Joseph C: Great place to get outdoor gear, jackets snowboards, gloves, goggles and more.
Sebastian Chavez: Really great experience overall. Purchased set of goggles that had a defect. Came in and showed them and they swapped it out no problem. Customer service was on point and very friendly. Only wish the Charlotte location was bigger and had more Patagonia & TNF bag options for purchase
Matt Gill: Bad attitude. We went in to buy bindings w/ mounting on one pair of skis + edge & wax on another. Found a pair we liked and were ready to buy. By the way they treated us we felt they didn’t want to be bothered with our business, especially as it related to the services. The woman working front desk spoke to us with so much disrespect we ended up just walking out with the product left on the counter. Went to alpine ski center and they were happy to take care of us. (And they were busier too). Would give it 2 stars for product selection but with today’s online marketplace the warm welcome factor of a brick and mortar store is the whole point. If i wanted selection and pricing id order from backcountry or evo.
Daniel kapfhammer: Sam we super knowledabe and helpful getting my boots setup with sizing and insoles. 10/10 recommemdation.
Emiko LeNeave: Love this place! Great experience here. I've bought all my snow gear here and boarding boots. The people are knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommend.
Chuck McGregor: INCREDIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE. We had Claire fit my wife for boots this season and the entire engagement was phenomenal. We'd go back just to hang with Claire but the rest of the staff is great with detailed knowledge focused on US and our skiing capabilities, rather than just sales.
Ben Hau: We had a very positive experience last fall as beginners, as they suggested items based on our needs and experience level. So, we recently went back to go all-in on a complete setup. James spent more than two hours with me and my wife, giving us multiple boot options, and ensuring everything fit correctly. We bought skis with bindings, boots, poles and helmets, and they were even having a sale! We’ll always go to the Charlotte location for all our skiing needs. They asked our skill level and overall desires from skiing, rather than trying to oversell and outfit us, and I feel great about our equipment, interaction and purchase. Thanks, James and everyone else there on 10/20/22.
Trevor Martin: Great experience, helpful staff, ask for Tyler if needing ski/snowboard equipment. Will be back soon!
Aleksandr G.: Solid place 4 all your OneWheel needz
Chris Aldred: Great shop with great service. I had an issue with a pair of Obermeyer pants that I bought from them way back in 2017. I need a receipt for proof of purchase. They still had a record of the record of the transaction, and were able to print out a receipt. So glad I purchased locally! Also a shoutout to Obermeyer for taking care of my issue. They shipped a new pair the day after I contacted them. The pants were pretty expensive, but Obermeyer stood behind them.Moral of the story… shop locally and buy quality gear.
Ryan Mayette: The woman Robin that works at this store is completely rude and seems to find joy in laughing at customer’s general questions about ski maintenance. I’d avoid spending your money here, there are better alternatives.
Arthur Milne: Really good experience with Brook - He was very knowledgeable and flexible and managed multiple customers all at different stages in their boot buying and fitting process. I would definitely recommend calling ahead to schedule an appointment to try on and explore boot options - getting ski boots that fit your feet and ski style is key to a good experience on the slopes but also takes time and patience - one of those things you get value from doing right the first time.Brook helped me confirm my sizing and the best brand for my foot shape and ski-level, They did not have the High Volume 130 flex boot in stock that I wanted as I am a big strong aggressive skier but I was able to confirm what boots best fit my feet. I returned today after receiving my boots in the mail (had to get order them from Germany!) and Brook again helped me with new custom footbeds and molding my new boots.
Chris McConaghey: I promised I would write a review - so, here it goes:Tyler was awesome in helping my friend and I purchase an entire snowboarding setup last-minute. We came into the shop with virtually nothing, and left with good boards, broken-in boots, and properly set-up bindings. I would highly recommend Ski Country Outdoors over most shops available in the Charlotte, NC, area.Prices were not "cheap" - but, I was happy to pay it for the positive experience, along with the knowledge that was provided to me regarding the available products.
Sami Mohapatra: Customer service at Charlotte location is terrible. We went in to buy my first pair of skis and boots. After waiting for 20 minutes( please note, none of the staff even said hello!) , we talked to one of the staff finally. He was not even interested to make a sale , but busy explaining since the store is closing in less than an hour , they won't be able to fit me with my equipment. at least ask the customer what kind of equipment they are looking for ! terrible terrible experience. never going back there again .
Aaron l: Terrible service that we've never experienced
skybrook club: Great shop with some alternative clothing selections and really good service. We need to support local treasures like this…

The North Face Southpark Mall: what do users think?
Tripp Swank: Apparently I have to do a thorough research before I buy anything now, just shoes that regret buying before they have even been delivered. I don’t want to be affiliated with your political associations.
Vibhai Tiwari: Thank you very much for the excellent customer service and I am very thankful to Store Manager (Paige) and Assistant Manager (Matt) and District Manager (Billy) for helping and resolving the poor service that I recently experienced at TNF, Georgia Premium Outlet. “Thank you” word isn’t enough to appreciate your excellent service. There was “Thank you” note left from Billy the DM, which was great gesture from TNF and Billy. Thank you again all of you for making my experience wonderful after speaking with you all. Thanks again!
Dennis Mooney: Great selection of outerwear. I’d buy most things but some are pricey. 30% sale items are reasonable
Eduard Mora (Eduard Mora): Excelente
Greg Marino: Came to the mall today specifically to return an item. Checked ahead of time and the google listing shows that they close at 9pm. Get to the store at 7:50pm and we are turned away as they are closing at 8:00pm. Told them that we only wanted to return a pair of boots and they told us that the registers were already turned off however there were still customers shopping inside. Honestly just poor customer service. We woulda been in and out before they closed.
Ronny Mino: Not a lot to choose from but customer service is good
Darrell Antley: Ms. Ana was very knowledgeable, attentive, and best of all, saved me $167 on my purchase! Thank you & Merry Christmas!
Foster Chadwick: Homeboy Neil works there it’s gotta be fire
Phillip Hart: Best selection of North Face 👌
Galdino Sanchez: Greatest pricesExcelente atención
Naresh Agrawal: So many stores and places to go but with really expensive stores
david smith: Very nice mall. Kinda crowded
Abbie Reynolds: No size variation. Hardly no selections for women. No sales
Bipin Dedakia: Good store
Jorge Luiz Vendruscolo: Very nice
Bob Musico: May stores to shop.
Mariana Esposito: Fancy. Sofisticated. Expensive. Place for high society.
Allison Blanchard: Hayden was a HUGE help! He went out of his way to accommodate us and we really appreciate it!
Daniel Bowers: Closes to early
Rebecca Fuller: Friendly staff & very helpful!!
Michael Freeland: Good one

5.11 Tactical: what do users think?
Bob Surratt: Always awesome
Danny Cao (Kaos): Great place to shop, excellent customer service. All thinks tactical!!!! Got a free patch of the month for buy a 50L range bag!!! How awesome is that!!!4/2/2023
LaJanel McMillan: Cool place to shop for my family the quality of clothes is amazing… staff is always helpful and friendly
SUNNY WINTERS: ALWAYS A PLEASURE
Lori Mckenzie: Stopped here on a trip back. Met my expectations like the other stores. Friendly staff, great deals.
Lee Gandy: Well-stocked with tons of selections. 5.11 makes high quality clothes, hats, beanies, shoes, etc. Perfect if you're a hiker, camper, first responder, or any activity that needs high quality clothing (that looks and fits great).
Emily Allred: Very disappointed that they only offer the First Responder discount to EMS workers of the two local hospital systems here in Charlotte. If you work for one of the local or surrounding agencies, you are not eligible for the discount. The gentleman at the counter also had headphones in and was watching something on his phone yesterday afternoon when we visited. When we asked for help/recommendations he did not acknowledge us for a few.
Douglas Richards: They need to be more helpful and the prices are difficult to locate on most items.
Keith Barbee: I've always enjoyed my visits to this business. The staff are always knowledgeable, courteous, and deliver prompt service to boot.
B Smith: Prices are fair for the quality of this gear.
Jeff Blackmon: Always have what I'm looking for. Good folks
Jennifer Pearson: This was my 1st time here...its clean, and friendly workers.
Southern Cross Arms: Great product and service!!!
Alexis castillo: Wao fantástico lugar para tus maravillosas prendas de vestir no busques calidad para tu personalidad 5.11 tactical es tu mejor lugar
Krista MY family: The ONLY tac pants I'll wear for work!
Devin T: $82 for a pair of pants? Army Navy stores are the way to go, I guess. Nobody in the store.
Derek: Love the pants
joseph whitney: Great gear and clothes, the prices can be high but it is worth it! There's also a nice clearance section I always make sure to look through. Staff was very nice and helpful.
Tom M.: Great selection and friendly staff.
Eryk Callicutt: As a company it is ridiculous to have cheaper prices online than at a store. Will definitely buy cheaper through other entities. Great products but don’t waste your time or money buying from the store especially if you are military or law enforcement.
Tabatha Clark: Months ago I shopped in store, found a pant I absolutely love. I live 2 hours away, was shopping for the same pant online and could not find them. Called Shane at the Charlotte location, to see if I was searching the wrong thing. He not only found the pant in store but helped me pick out the best color and is currently shipping them to me. Shane was phenomenal! I did not expect the level of help I received in my opinion Shane went above and beyond!
