Nick Ligon: Terrible Order Support.Purchased a desk and a chair on the IKEA website for in-store pickup the same day. They said it would be ready between 3-4pm. Get to the store, the order has been moved to the 8-9 window and the online-order representative at the store said even that was unlikely with how slow the order collections had been.He said to cancel my online order and pick up the items myself; which I did. Went on the app and IKEA would not let me cancel the order. Then got to checkout and the lady there said "oh the order will cancel automatically if not picked up by the end of the day." Next day came, no cancellation and no refund.Go back online and the option to cancel the order is not available. Call customer service. They cancel the order and say it will be refunded in about 14 business days.It is Absolutely ridiculous nowadays to have to wait 2 weeks to get refunded on an order they never fulfilled when they said and couldn't cancel properly like any other normal large-scale retailer.Garbage company that needs some work at the top.

While we found some great deals on items and enjoyed the food at the restaurant, there were some notable negatives that impacted our overall experience.On the positive side, we were pleased with the quality of the items we purchased, and some of them had excellent deals that made our visit worthwhile. The restaurant also impressed us with its good food offerings, providing a pleasant break during our shopping experience. Additionally, the bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, which is always appreciated.Unfortunately, the main downside was the lack of attentive staff near the sections to assist customers. On the afternoon of 7th July, we observed the staff gathering and chatting with each other in one corner, seemingly disinterested in providing help or guidance. It made it challenging to seek assistance when we had questions or needed advice regarding the items.One particularly frustrating incident occurred at the lady's billing counter in the sale tent. She seemed indifferent and failed to greet us properly. When we asked her to look up my wife's rewards number, she didn't take it down accurately, leading to confusion. It took numerous attempts to convey the number correctly as there appeared to be a miscommunication or possible hearing issues on her end.While we understand that human errors happen, it was disappointing that the lack of attention and the communication difficulties affected our interaction. We hope that Ikea addresses these areas of improvement to enhance the customer experience and ensure better service in the future.Overall, despite the negatives we encountered, we still appreciate the good deals, quality items, and clean facilities at Ikea. However, we believe that focusing on improving customer service and ensuring better communication between staff members will greatly enhance the overall experience for visitors.
Jessica: Café was great! The staff was friendly and food delicious. Although the store was busy, navigation wasn't stressful. My only qualm was at checkout. The Express Lane attendant was helping my fiancé and I with my new Projekt card. They had no prior training on Ikea card usages and called for a manager, that never showed up. They were overwhelmed however eventually figured it out on their own. They stayed patient and did a great job. However, where was management??

I did order my item online but when we nearly got the end of building the chest of drawers, we realized we were given 18 of one type of screw and missing the correct ones. We drove a little out of our way to go to our nearest Ikea but we were very blessed to be helped by Z. She was not only helpful but courteous and polite. She went above and beyond what would have been expected of someone working in customer service. I'm happy to say that even though this was my first time shopping from Ikea, the missing screws situation did not put me off and more so, because of Z 😊

Lots of quality products and some not so good quality, but hey, nobody is perfect. Coming from Sweden 🇸🇪 Ikea has a special place in my heart. Just give it a try, and you will not be disappointed.

Carol: Very frustrated with the store at present. I purchased a lamp (ordered it as it wasn't available in store). Lamp arrived - it is lovely, but doesn't fit the space. I reached out to the return line this morning, and they said to check with the store first as not all stores will accept returned items purchased through the catalog. No problem. I have tried OVER and OVER to reach the Southpark store, but it always says, Press 2 for a sales person, then is says LINE IS BUSY. It has been busy all morning which means they are NOT answering their phone or only have ONE line? Really? So now, I have to drag this heavy lamp through the mall in hopes they MIGHT take it back. They should at least allow me the option of being placed on hold for the next available person.UPDATE: I finally got through to the store after 20 minutes. They will not take the lamp back, but they are going to arrange to have UPS pick it up from my home. I still think they need a better answering option on their phone.

For the price of the products, one would think Customer Satisfaction would be a priority but no. We now have a useless table and the family of 5 will continue to eat standing up.

Barry Becker: I was there looking for a 6x10 carpet and found 3 sample that looked interesting. I spoke with a salesperson who said you cannot take the large home. Large sample were about 24” square. He said they have smaller samples and looked but they had none for 2 of the rugs and the third he had not information about. So I said the only way I can get a feel for your rugs in my house is buy the rug and if I don’t like it I can ship it back. He said yes. I have been to 4 others places selling rugs and they all allow you to buy a large sample that they will reimburse you upon return. Very frustrating conversation.

Jenny Calhoun: We had a great experience with Susan N. She was patient with all our questions and provided a lot of reassurance about our decision. Our initial quote was higher than what our final invoice came to. There was some misunderstanding of the type of cushion we selected. The quality of the furniture we saw and tried out in the store is so nice and made in the USA! We chose Bassett because we could customize everything we wanted and needed from depth of couch, length of couch and type of cushion. Can’t wait to receive our couch.

I've had nothing but TERRIBLE experiences with La-Z-Boy and own 4 pieces, 3 have had serious service issues and quality issues. Mark was patient, extremely polite, and helpful. I can be a bit of a "bull in a china shop", so that's something I appreciateNotes about other reviews: since COVID began, many retails felt the burn and people can be harsh. I feel most of the reviews on here are from people that have had extremely one off issues/experiences. I'm sure they are well founded but I feel most clients of Bassett Furniture aren't posting 5 stars reviews like customers are brainwashed to do at other retailers *looking at you La-Z-boy; its weird how many reviews they've been getting in recent months

The lady informed me they will have someone call me to set up an appointment to fix the table after I have sent her the pictures of the chipped wood on the table. No one never called me so I have called back and the lady stated to me that somone called me to set up the appointment but I informed her no one ever did. The lady told me that someone will be calling you to set up an appointment. The person that contacted me today informed me that she can send me to an outside source which was never stated before and informed me I was supposed to wipe down the table with warm water when I was never informed that. I will be taking them to court I would not buy any furniture from this store ever again completely garbage.

Rebecca Connelly: Really disappointing experience with this store. I placed an order on November 21st with a sales representative for a dresser and two nightstands. I received an email confirmation of the order on November 23rd. I then received an email on December 4th that "my masterpiece is complete" and on its way to a delivery center. Imagine my surprise when I receive a phone call from the sales representative on December 8th that part of my order was out of stock.The sales representative was going to check one more time on Monday before refunding my deposit. Here it is Wednesday and I had still not received an update on whether they were able to find one in stock after all or canceling my order. I called to inquire and was told that I should have received email paperwork (which I hadn't) and was rudely asked "what was she supposed to do?" about it. It is only after that call that I received the forwarded paperwork canceling my order.I would caution anyone about ordering from this company.

She doesn’t answer her phone or call back when you leave voice mail. You can’t get a order status online since order is placed on the store. When you call the store front desk, they will give you delivery company phone number to call yourself and schedule it. When you call delivery company, it always goes to voice mail and no call back. Truly miserable customer service.

So we made calls wrote emails and after an irate call there was a resolution and am still waiting for the headboard to be replaced. Not happy with customer service and the Concord store has been a nightmare in terms of good design co sultants for us since the past 5yrs

My table was damaged but the customer service person was terrific. She asked what I was looking for to resolve it and I told her : Someone to pick up the damaged table at my apt and deliver a new one to my apt. (I had previously driven to the store to pick up the order.) She said that wouldn't be a problem. [ADDED MATERIAL] Customer service didn't followed up on their commitment. I drove the table back to the store and asked for a full refund. They say the refuind should come through in two days or so. We shall see,
Drew W: I would give this 0 stars if that were an option. I ordered furniture from west elm in early February 2022. It’s now mid-August and I still haven’t received my order. It was originally scheduled for May which was a generous timeline. That timeline wasn’t going to work for west elm, why not bump it out a couple months we don’t care about our customers. So after two delays my order was finally supposed to be shipped today (August 16th). Instead my order never showed up. After sitting on hold for 1 hour 45 minutes and getting transferred to 3 different clueless departments. I finally got in touch with someone at the local shipping office. Apparently they forgot to put my stuff on the truck (and of course to communicate this, because well why would you when your customers don’t matter to you?). Rescheduled again for a week later, no ability to have a delivery time that might be compatible with my schedule so guess I will have to take another day off work to sit around waiting for a couch that may or may not come. Thanks, West Elm! You’re the best! (read: incompetent buffoons who don’t even care enough to communicate their failures or set up a mechanism for you to address them yourself without wasting a significant amount of your own time)12/14/2022 update:I am STILL waiting on my order. I ordered this back in a March and have not received any communication from West Elm since October. I would strongly encourage other customers to think twice about buying furniture from West Elm because you may never receive it and your money and time will essentially be blasted off into the ether by this clueless team.5/30/2023 update:I am still waiting on the couch I ordered and haven’t heard from the West Elm team since February 2023 when they reassured me the furniture was on the way. The nightmare continues.
Jennifer Blauvelt: I have been a loyal and enthusiastic customer of the west elm family of brands most of my adult life. And after this experience I am no longer a customer. I ordered a table through them and waited 4 weeks for it to come in. Drove to the store to pick it up, it's not an easy store to get to. When I got home I unboxed the million pieces of cardboard which I had to dispose of and discovered my table was damaged. I called Customer service and they scheduled to pick up the return. However the day they were to pick up the table they went to the store and not my house. So I wasted a vacation day for nothing. I had to get a truck to take it back to the store. The damage was not our fault but yet we have to jump through hoops to make it right. Completely unacceptable lack of customer service. Please know when you shop here they are not going to do what is right to fix a situation that they caused. Additionally it is important to note that the quality of these pieces today is not what it used to be. Incredibly disappointed and won't ever be back again.

After two weeks and no delivery I called back with the order number that the rep issued me. There had either been a mistake or the order had been canceled.Not only would customer service not honor their initial sale price that I had tried to buy them at because the window had closed, but then, Darren, proceeded to accuse me of lying about the initial order.I understand that mistakes happen, however I am floored that this is the business model you have at customer service.
Dan B: Unless you can physically pick it up at the store, DO NOT buy from West Elm or it's parent company William Sonoma. I purchased a sleeper sofa with chaise from West Elm and, to keep the story short, they messed up delivery on me twice (canceled it on me without notice and then rescheduled with normal delivery delay of 4+ weeks each time! - ZERO effort to expedite (it was THEIR issue each time)). As other reviewers note, their customer service is just AWFUL! Never again for me, West Elm, William Sonoma, (they also have Pottery Barn/PB Kids). Oh, check out their review on BBB (William Sonoma) and see SO MANY other customer service horror stories. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!
Phillip Stack: Our couch came damaged, was told that a replacement would be sent. After 2 years of going back and forth we were told that “we can’t replace the couch because it’s no longer manufactured” but we we’re supposed to call more often to check with the status of the replacement. This company will not update people about the issue. I would never buy from this company again. Material broke within months of every day use. No contact from the company. Don’t waste your money on cheap quality.
Andy Benton: Worst delivery experience with a retailer ever, no hyperbole. Bought a rug in August 2022. Promised 8-10 weeks delivery.Following up late October, told it couldn’t be found in their system, had to reorder. Delivery now late December.Called in Dec to verify, told it was confirmed. Day of delivery, after the drop off window had well passed, had to call to find it never made it on their truck. Two days and several phone calls later, told delivery would now be scheduled for late January 2023. For a rug???Wouldn’t give them another chance. Canceled order and got a refund (what I should have done after they “couldn’t find” the first record of the order). No effort on West Elm’s part to make things right. Will NEVER go back and steer all friends away from this company.
Rebecca Yelton: Disappointing customer service. Paid in full for a King bed with extra TALL headboard…months later wrong bed delivered. Kept it while waiting on the ‘correct’ bed to be delivered. Second bed was the SAME as the first, not what we ordered months previous. Finally, we were told the one we paid for months earlier was discontinued. I would not buy from them again although they sell pretty furnishings for the home. One bad experience is more than enough.

And, now the item is on sale and they will not honor sale price unless I cancel and re- place the order which will push back my delivery at least 2 months... Very poor consideration of customers. Sorry I didn't read previous reviews before placing order. I hope I like the table if I ever get it.

I was supposed to have my sofa delivered 2 months ago and they kept telling me it’s on the way - within an hour and it was never at the hub to be delivered. Had to keep calling about 40 times over the next two months to get an answer on when it’s coming. Everytime they said they would call me back with more info and never did. On top of all of that, every CS agent I spoke with was never apologetic and rude as hell.
Annie Elliott: Do NOT. I repeat DO NOT order from west elm. I ordered a couple back in March 2022, which at the time said it would be delivered by the summer. My delivery got cancelled 3 times and the customer service I experienced at west elm was absolutely unbelievably terrible. I was transferred 3 different times just so they didn’t have to deal with a complaint. No one gave me an idea of where my couch was or when it would be delivered. I finally got my couch delivered in late January 2023, ten/eleven months later. It was covered in black smudges.
Dafne Elam: The absolute worst experience I’ve ever had. I ordered furniture October 2022 and after 4 months of going back and forth with them and their distribution company I have yet to receive it even though I paid and was told I would receive it in October. The communication between all the levels is just horrible. Our wood floors have been badly damaged after six months without. Wes Knight: DO NOT BUY FROM WEST ELM!!We ordered a couch on October 9th of '22.The couch was supposed to be delivered on Nov. 28th 2022 - they chose to cancel our delivery without contacting us. Had to reschedule to Jan 9th and upon arrival we witnessed the driver not even get out of the truck or attempt to deliver it. Zero response or accountability from "customer service" teamIt is now Jan 12th '23 and we still have not received the couch- they stated we have to wait until February despite the couch being fabricated and at the warehouse since November.Save yourself the stress, transact elsewhere.
Emma Ilaria: Paid for a $4000 couch, spent over 8 hours on the phone with customer service and still could not get a response for when we were getting it / or where it even was. Unacceptable customer service.
Angela Sirani: If I could give West Elm 0 stars I would. Absolutely WORST experience dealing with this company. I ordered a couch back in August. They told me they would charge my credit card the remaining balance when it shipped. I received an email in Oct saying it was ready for delivery. I scheduled and they charged my card the remaining balance. The morning of the delivery, I received a text message canceling with no explanation. When I called, they told me they were missing one piece of the couch. They never credited back my card. They have rescheduled and cancelled 2 more times after that. Customer service is not helpful at all. No one knows what is going on. They told me they were going to deliver part of the couch and I would receive the corner unit when it was in. Absolutely disgusting. Never again!
Anna Mercer: DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! The furniture is very nice but the delivery is nightmare and the customer service is atrocious. Furniture was ordered in September (with total3K) with latest delivery estimated to be mid-October. I finally received a delivery late November and it had 1/3 of my order. The entire order has been marked as delivered, and I have spoken to customer service 5 times regarding this and have yet to receive the rest of my furniture.

Cowbridge Furniture: what do users think?
Phillip: I've waited about a year to post this review because the Hemingway chair is an expensive piece of furniture.I can say now that it has been worth every penny, it is the best furniture investment I've made. I sit in this chair more often than my very comfortable couch. As you can see from the picture Maximus enjoys it too.I love to read, and looked all over Charlotte for the perfect reading chair. From West Elm to Pottery Barn to Ethan Allen to Mansion District to Slate, etc. This chair was the best I found.They are made to order, and Scott provided excellent service throughout the process.If you're looking for very well made, unique and practical furniture for your home, Cowbridge should be on your short list of places to check out. They have all manner of pieces for your home there, and most of them distinguish themselves. Check it out!

I didn’t plan on purchasing a chair at all, but saw a chair and footrest that was unique and we talked about the price. I was given an AMAZING deal and took it home. The best and most refreshing part of the whole experience was not being pressured into buying anything I wasn’t interested in. I highly recommend stopping in to see if Cowbridge has something on their floor you might like and if you can’t find anything, they can reupholster or build anything you want.
