Matthew Rimmer: We signed up for ASP for weekly pool service and was told, in writing, that the services would include "low off pool deck, skim surface, vac pool, brush when needed, empty skimmer baskets and pump baskets and backwash filter if Sand or DE filter."The first visit was during a rainstorm and the tech skimmed the pool, was on the property for a total of 5 minutes. We didn't complain. The second visit the tech came out and did exactly the same routine, and was on our property for 10 minutes. Our pool was filled with mud on the bottom from recent tree removal, which required vacuuming so I sent an email with videos showing this to the office. When I spoke with the office representative on the phone about this issue and asked why virtually none of the promised services were being performed (vacuum, blow off deck, backwash filter, etc.) I was rebutted and told the pool looks clean in the pictures provided.I again asked why the company was not doing any of the services we signed up for and the office representative responded: “I can’t go back in time and make the tech do it. I'm cancelling your contract and you won't be charged" and then hung up.To their credit, they did agree to cancel the contract and not charge us for the 15 minutes of worth of visits. I wouldn't sign up for them if you want beyond pool skimming and a chemical check-up.Service:Cleaning

They started out strong but in the last year we have had a lot of issues, quality has gone down big time, and constant staff rotation — it seems they don’t train folks well and also have a hard time keeping cleaning staff (poor pay?). Also, they abruptly stopped providing cleaning citing staff shortages with no sense of sense of customer loyalty or customer convenience. Katherine Little: We called Caribbean for two reasons; one, we needed the sand in our filter changed, and two, we needed a new pool light. We never made it to the pool light part, because to make a very long story short, they had our filter apart for ten days, trying to coordinate their staff to come out, order parts, get the right parts, try to get the filter apart and put back together... After many attempts, they basically told me they had inadvertently damaged whatever mechanism or bolts were involved in getting it back together. In the end, my filter was rendered worthless, they claimed that it was too old to be serviced (it's 13 years old, not that old for a pool filter, plus it was working just fine before they touched it, just needed a sand change). They apologized, and I was promised a call from the owner the day after the last tech called me, but that never happened. Their communication was poor, they made excuses for everything (their owner was out of town, technicians were injured, technicians weren't communicating what part was needed, etc.). It was a giant mess. I am not sure I've ever dealt with more disorganization at a company. Not only did we have to purchase a new filter (over $1,000 in cost, for another local, yet actually competent company to provide it and install it), but it then took almost a week to get the water clear again, as it turned into a swamp during the time Caribbean had it disabled. For nearly the entire month of August, our pool was down, all because of them, and I incurred a great deal of cost, both in the new filter and having to shock the pool and get it back to normal. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.REVIEW UPDATE 10/20/22: As you can see, it takes them 5 years to respond to a review (my original review was written in 2017!). They don’t want to take accountability for anything. Maybe I should thank them, this experience threw me into the loving arms of Cayman Pool & Spa, we’ve been loyal customers of theirs since this incident!! Hey Caribbean, take a page out of their book on how to properly take care of a pool, AND provide good customer service.

Manuel Lewis: I had a negative encounter with Blue Haven Pools. From the start, they did not value my time or needs. I contacted them through their website, but instead of inquiring about my availability, they scheduled an appointment without consulting me first. When the salesperson, Steve Ripley, arrived at my home, he was unprofessional and lacked communication skills. He was unresponsive and lacked follow through. I had to keep following up with him for the estimate and pool renderings. After ten days, I called to ask about the proposal and he rudely asked me “why, do you have your checkbook ready?”.To make matters worse, the proposal I received through email had only two pictures of a mock-up pool. The design was cheap-looking and lacked all the requested features, such as decking, water features, a sun shelf, fire bowls, and LED pool lights. Steve did not provide a price or follow up on his email. It seemed like they did not care about my needs or I was a waste of their time.I was very disappointed with Blue Haven Pools and never contacted them again after that experience. However, I had a different experience with America's largest independently owned pool builder. I received my pool renderings (with all my requested features) and price estimate in less than 5 days and signed my pool agreement.When spending $100K+ on a pool, professionalism is expected, and Blue Haven Pools was unable to deliver. Kim Filsinger: Stay far away from Blue Haven They will basically ignore you until you just deal with the issues.My pool build started back in Aug and was a nightmare. Project manger was useless ( this is not my first build. The first one I used a different company and was smooth and seamless)I still have blue pebble coat in the back stone from when it was sprayed in the pool months ago.I asked for 4 months to have it addressed. After 4 months of asking they sent people out to clean it. To this day, I still have blue pebble coat on the stone as it was not addressed correctly and I have learned I now just need to deal with it as they will never fix the issue caused by the sub.They completed the bullnose while the pool was filled while the pm out and out lied. I still have issues there as it stained the pebble coat and made the color lighter. I have to deal with itTile issues for 7 months. Still not addressed. I’m told every single week someone will come out. Guess what. No one ever does. Tile has been blue taped to show the issues 5 times and they have said multipleTimes over the last few months to blue tape it and will be fixed never showed up and the blue tape has been sitting on it now for close to a month this last time Still no idea 7 months later when this will be addressed.Stay as far away from blue haven as you can!!!Update. After 7 months the finally sent our some to fix the tile. The people they sent out damaged more then they fixed and then filled all the issues with sand. Operations manager said he is sending it to his team. So far no follow up.I have texted 3 people and called another. zero follow upThis is only a few of the picsMay 12 update :The two side wing walls began to cave in and separate due to poor decking company work (Stephen black). If he comes ask for someone elseLuckily - Matt stepped into address the issues and 8 months later things are being fixedCoping was fixed - albeit they dropped large pieces of coping into the pool mortar side down so now there are white stains in the pebble coat and they didn’t protect the pool when they fixed the split face. Aqua shop was sent to clean it and they are worse so my pool company is coming out twice a week now to get it cleaned.
