Cape Fear Valley Blood Donor Center: what do users think?
Diane Schruben: They treat me very well and know I hate needles and everything about them. But I have O+ blood so I show up. I am working on my fifth gallon too. The blood donated stays local, helps our community.
Chris Malloy: I donored platelets today with Shirley Williams & Christina Clark. These ladies are fabulous!! They go out of their way to make my visit exceptional ... great customer service.
Nancy Umstead: I started donating platelets about 12 years ago after my husband needed them and have been donating blood since 1979. I love seeing all of the bloodbank team but especially Shirley. She's been taking my platelets since the beginning. I feel like family when I'm there.
Jaclyn Shambaugh: Do you want your blood or platelet donation to help your local community? Then donate at the CFVBDC. The donations made here stay here in our local area, instead of being transferred or sold. Help people right here who are in need of life-saving blood. I’ve been donating platelets at CFVBDC for 10 years. The staff at the Center are the best. They’re friendly and efficient and strive to make every visit a great experience.
Joey Douglass: Shirley has been taking my platelet donation at CFV Blood donor center for 9 years. Always a very pleasant experience. Take the time to donate here and save lives locally.
Andrew Robertson: First time platelet donor. Great experience. Warm blankets, heating pads, snacks, drinks, and goody bags!
Ricky Raccoon: Clean, safe facility staffed by employees with customer care foremost on their mind.
steven holmes: Well it was as good as it could be considering that I was getting a needle in the arm. No pain the guy was definitely a professional. Nice work.
Andrew Gomez: They were fast about it and very respectful
Robert Brogdon: I have had nothing, but great experiences with the Blood Mobile and the teams that serve our community.
Carolina Vounov: wonderful staff
Cheyenne Campbell: The people here I was around from here at my old high school blood drive were pretty rude to me and later on to my friend all because I passed out one time and felt dizzy another time but it's whatever. I went on to donate plasma instead and have had great experiences doing that instead. But overall I had a bad experience with the staff here and I won't donate again here. But if you want to go for it just not for me.
Lindsey Graham: Team here really cares about their donors and the local patients who need blood to heal. Easy parking to get in and out and they often have cool T-shirts for donors 😎
chris phillips: very nice people
Nancy Hatcher: Excellent staff, clean facility, a very pleasant experience.
Matthew Parga-Manasse: Very welcoming and nice staff. They gladly answered any question I had.
jeff mcneill: The donor center is Going through some changes, checking in is a little different...but there is a little more privacy when filling out the information for donations. Change is good but it’s gonna be slow. Staff is always friendly, I seem to be missing Ms D when I come in. She is either on the bus or somewhere else....the heartbeat 💗 of the donor center ❤️😀❤️. Merry Christmas everyone and God Bless our Great Nation. Semper Fi
Carol Scheib: I have been donating whole blood and/or platelets for a couple decades, and the Cape Fear Valley Blood Donor Center is THE BEST PLACE anywhere for professionalism by the entire staff and the ease of donation. Whether you are there for 30 minutes for whole blood, or 90 minutes for platelets, you are treated like royalty the entire time you are there. Need a cup of tea? It's there in under 2 minutes. What about a snack? A basket full of cookies and treats appear in about 30 seconds. If you have an appointment, there is absolutely zero waiting time. If you are a walk-in, give them a couple minutes to get a chair ready for you. When you are finishing up, you get a choice of colorful stretchy tapes for your arm!And your blood product stays in the community...so you get a warm fuzzy feeling as you leave. What could be better than this?!?!?
rachael hale: Does anyone know if they give you money for donating like plasma Does?
Wendy Brown: Always a joy to visit.
Jodi Petersen: The staff is great and always friendly when going to donate. That makes a big difference!! Thanks guys!!

Talecris Plasma Resources: what do users think?
brian magembe: Amazing place and great customer service for new intake. I got TLC from Amanda who was amazingly knowledgeable and made me super comfortable despite having needle phobia . I will only recommend this location due to the whole new intake process was quicker than I expected.
chris powell: It is so bad. You sit in the back waiting to be hooked and there is 8 people waiting and everyone working is standing in a group talking about stuff that don’t matter. Maybe you won’t be an hour behind on appointments. If you just stop talking.
Brandon Giambra: Really slow to get in the back and they are racist and do not care if you make an appointment or not. They let the friends skip every one and of you say anything they differ you. Nasty appearance and no customer service. You either get skipped and yelled at or just go home. I choose to stay home
Norman james: They Definitely enjoy wasting your time they need to do better I havnt successfully donated in 3 weeks because I end up leaving and if I'm not leaving my arms are getting bruised because they are untrained! I'll use today as an example my appointment was at 930 and here I am still not in a bed at 12pm this is the reason they beg people to donate and send you fliers and texts to come back NO ONE WANTS TO WASTE THEIR TIME ALL DAY FOR SMALL DONOR FEES IF YOU EXSPECT US TO WAIT PAY BETTER! THE STAFF CHIT CHAT INSTEAD OF WORKING NOT TO MENTION THE NASTY ATTITUDES THIS PLACE HAS GONE SO FAR DOWN HILL OVER THE YEARS YOU CAN UPDATE WHATEVER YOU WANT EXSPRESS KIOSK NEW MACHINES NEW SCALES ECT. BUT NONE OF IT IS EFFECTIVE IF YOU DONT SPEED YOUR STAFF UP ALL BAYS SHOULD BE OPEN ALL BOOTHS SHOULD BE OPEN COME ON NOW! I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO DONATE THIS PLACE IS BEYOND SLOW
B C: I deleted my old review, and started to write a great review...but as always there's always a negative to a positive. Although the service has been the best I have ever seen in the past years, trying to get through on the phone is absolutely hard. Now Ms. B is great on answering phones, so apparently when I need to call, she must be off cause I can't get no one to answer. I also sent a email and still nothing. I would love to give a five star review, because the ladies in back in the morning are doing excellent.
Nicholas davis: They don't help the costumer out by not answering the phone. It could be something simple and short .
Space N. Time: Corporate really needs to review this whole process! I feel awful for the few hardworking employees at this location while others stand around doing nothing and angry donors are left waiting for hours.
Chelsea Parker: My 4th time donating and the staff is very unprofessional, the wait time is ridiculous considering you have to make an appointment! They just sit around a chill. I was literally waiting on the back for 1 hour , finally got out on a bed and waited another 30 minutes to be stuck while the staff just talked and chilled out! This will be my last visit here because I can’t deal with the unprofessional mess they have going on!
Justin Hardin: You’ll have an appointment and get called back a hr plus and then sat again when they stay using the wrong blood pressure machine on you. This place needs fixed
ericka jones: On Sunday (11/20) this center had no staff. They were 4 1/2 hours behind on appointments, yet donors still waited patiently. After finally getting screened and placed on a bed, the donors were told that there were issues with the water lines and no more people could donate for the day. How disappointing it was to wait 4 hours and not donate. What’s more disappointing is that the donors were not given an apology, no form of compensation (for our second donation of the week), and majority are now disqualified for the frequency frenzy bonus the center offered for donating 8 times between 11/7 and 12/4. This is truly unacceptable. I called the center the following day to see what they were going to do for the people they screwed over Sunday, and nothing! I will not be returning and will be taking my referrals to Biolife. Maybe they have staff that actually wants to work and will treat their donors better. (They PAY MORE ANYWAYS)
Loso Morrison: Aaliya did a great job with setting me up and stickying me it made the process great and it didn't take long for me to donate.... 11/11/22 Aaliya thanks again ur the 6est
SaDonna O: Ok I went to donate today! I had a smokers cough cause I have emphysema, well here is where I stand, I be yelling and talking to my attorney Monday why you ask? I felt discriminated because it was an African American lady telling staff about my coughing! So yes I been discriminated against I am white and manager and a African American ladies!!! I don’t need this treatment of it!!!! AGAIN I BE CONTACTING MY ATTORNEY ON THIS MATTER AND YES I BEEN DISCRIMINATED AGAINST!! We will see the outcome of it all!!!! ALSO VERY VERY VERY RUDE STAFF!!!! ALSO I HAVE DR PAPERS STATING SMOKERS COUGH AND Emphysema!!!!! YALL SEE I HAVE IT ALL AND I WILL BE TALKING TO MY ATTORNEY ABOUT THIS MATTER ON DISCRIMINATION!!!!THANK YOU!!
Trey Locklear: This place needs to work on answering the phone been calling for a week straight all it does is rings. Need to fix this ASAP
Quiona Dockery: use too much saline everytime I donate it be having me feeling woozy wait time to get screened took a hour and a half
Brianna Barber: Might as well not even have a phone, they don’t answer it. I get they are training new people, but they have gotten slower about things.
Michael Benn: Slow slow super slow always behind thy talk to much most of the workers rude
Tristan B: I'm confused at how there could possibly be so many positive reviews. I have never spent less than 2.5 hours here and usually walk out because they have missed my appointment by over an hour. What is the point in having an app to make an appointment if you don't get seen for over an hour after? What a waste of time. If you dare to ask the employees about the time, prepare for a hostile and unprofessional response. Like it's somehow my fault they are running late... I'll start looking for another place to donate.Edit (Aug 4): Made the mistake of coming back to this place again. I had a 12:45pm appointment and they are currently on donors with a 10:45am appointment. 2 hours behind!! This time, I tried calling ahead to confirm that I could get in at my appointment time, but of course no one is answering the phones. They are literally ignoring the telephone. Another waste of my time!!!
A Purcell: This was my second visit to this place and second time donating the experience was horrible! The girl who stuck me evidently did it incorrectly I don’t work there but I do know the needle was not relaxed ! I could tell something was not right from the previous time I had been there! Then I felt like I had to tell them how to do their job! Once the culp loosened and never started back I immediately knew something was wrong! Her and some other workers had walked by but no one attempted to check the machine until I called one of them over and of course not the one who actually started the machine , I explained to her something not right which I shouldn’t had to that’s they job! She came over and checked the needle and the machine and said it’s not flowing that’s when I asked can she restick the other arm she went on to say how that arm might not hold them she gone have the nerve to open up the machine and show me my blood that she wasn’t going to return and say I couldn’t come back for 58 days because of the blood not being returned and that she was gone go get me a Gatorade to drink I’m look at her like she must bumped her head ! So I called the older head lady that’s over them over and she explained we have to give her blood back and she did her job she stuck the other arm that they claimed probably wouldn’t hold but all in all I will never go to that particular site again WILL NOT RECOMMEND this place !
Michelle Mckiver: Some of the employees have nasty attitudes and are very rude!!! The last 5 or 6 times I have came I have had appointments and they are always atleast a hour and 30 minutes behind. And alot of employees just stand around talking. 🙄 I have never been here where they were not behind. Why make appts. If you can't keep up with them? Thanks 😊
Manyse Bethel: Worst center EVER!! Never coming back here !
KIMBERLY MCKOY: WHY HAVE APPOINTMENTS IF IT IS 2 HOURS AFTER THE APPOINTMENT IS SCHEDULED BEFORE YOU CAN CHECK IN AND GET INTO THE BACK. THIS PLACE IS AWFUL....I CAN NOT COUNT HOW MANY TIMES THEY HAVE MESSED MY ARM UP, TO THE POINT I STOPPED GOING. OBVIOUSLY THEY NEED TO BETTER TRAIN THEIR STAFF AND HAVE BETTER TIME MANAGEMENT IN HERE (IF STAFF CAN CHITCHAT AND BE ON THEIR PHONES, THEY CAN BE WAITING ON THEIR CUSTOMERS), STOP OVER BOOKING APPOINTMENTS ALSO. I HAVE FAMILY MEMBERS THAT STILL GO AND ITS THE SAME THING. APPOINTMENT AT 10AM, 12:10 JUST NOW GETTING IN THE BACK! DO BETTER GROVE ST, YOU HAVE PEOPLE WAITING IN 100°WEATHER FOR HOURS PAST THEIR APPOINTMENT TIME!!MY FAMILY MEMBER HAD AT 7AM APPT TODAY AND ITS 8:40AM, STILL WAITING TO GO TO THE BACK..."VIP" EMPLOYEES ARE BEING TAKEN AHEAD OF THE SCHEDULED APPTS. THEN THEY WONDER WHY DONATIONS ARE DOWN? BECAUSE OF THIS...PEOPLE HAVE LIVES, JOBS, THINGS TO DO BESIDES SPENDING ALL DAY DONATING PLASMA FOR CHANGE...SMH..THEY NEED TO SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN IF IT CAN NOT RUN PROPERLY!!

CSL Plasma: what do users think?
william henson: Routinely have to wait 2 hours plus to get sat down to donate. Plan on spending 4-5 hours in this place. Always way over booked on appointments. Go to BioLife.
Wendy Tyndall: I drive from another county, nearly 30 minutes away. This morning I called to be sure that I could donate. Then, I get to the donation center to sit and wait for 2 hours because I was ill informed about the staffing issues.
Juanita Johnson: NEVER GO HERE AGAIN I WAS LEFT UNCONSCIOUS IN THE CHAIR FOR 15MINS AND NOBODY CHECKED TO SEE IF I WAS DEAD OR ALIVE LET ALONG , NOONE CALLED MEDICAL UNTIL I WAS WOKE AND CONSCIOUS. WHEN MEDICAL CAME THE YOUNG LADY LIED ABOUT THE TIME SHE HAD CHECKED ME , SHE COULDNT EVEN GIVE THE LADY AN EXACT TIME SHE CHECKED ME , A GENTLEMAN SAID HE ASKED THE LADY MULTIPLE TIMES TO SEE IF I WAS OKAY BECAUSE I WAS ASLEEP LEANING OUT THE CHAIR AS IF I WAS DEAD ...THE ONLY THING THEY DID WAS SHAKE ME AND GIVE ME AN ICE PACK , AFTER ME TELLING THEM I WAS DIZZY AND FELT WEAK AS IF I WAS UNABLE TO MOVE..THEY WAS STILL TRYING TO DRAW BLOOD FROM ME IN THE SITUATION UNTIL MEDICAL DEMANDED THEM TO STOP DRAWING THE BLOOD AND RETURN IT BACK TO ME ... I WAS ALSO TOLD I WAS NEVER SUPPOSE TO BE SENT TO THE BACK BECAUSE MY IRON WAS TO LOW BUT THEY SENT ME TO THE BACK ANYWAY .. THESE PEOPLE ONLY CARE ABOUT GETTING YOU IN FOR COMMISSION..THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT SAVING LIFES BECAUSE THEY ALMOST TOOK MINES
Adepressionyoucantsweatout: If I could leave 0 stars I would. They blew out my husbands veins on several different occasions (almost every time he went in). The staff is rude and unhelpful and uneducated on what they’re doing. Go elsewhere. This is the worst in town. Don’t bother wasting your time.
GHL Yungsity: These people will let the janitor Stick you with a needle
Tyler Tickle: Place is slow as it gets, staff is rude place looks gross. I sat for an hour to be seen and no one said a word to me and there was not even a line of anyone else waiting. I just left waste of time do not go here there’s others around that have great reviews and staff
Ash Nac: This place is RIDICULOUSLY unprofessional. You’re literally sitting in the chairs waiting to be stuck or waiting to be unhooked for at least 20/30 mins. The young girls just walk around and talk. Tbh see you need to be stuck and still don’t stick you and rather talk! They ALWAYS have attitudes. You’re literally in the back WAITING to be stuck forever making your 30/45 min trip into 2/3 hours. They’ll stick people that came AFTER you, it’s gone down hill and im tired of it
Ant Date: Britney Hutchinson the phlebotomist did a great job. YeahShe was informative, caring and understanding customer service and I will always request her awesome service. Highly Recommend this location!!!!
The Outsider: It was a good experience. It was my 1st time at this center. I prefer a different center of a different company. Too far away though.
Samaria Smith: Sarah is the best period 💅!
Tabitha Johnston: Always a reason why they can’t never open on time
Diva Wuan: Phlebotomist Brittany was patient thought I was concern I didn't hear anything back within 30 minutes, People came in after me were able get hooked up while I was still patiently waiting patiently. Minimum line on Monday no line on Wednesday. If I wasn't always deferred to medical prior to donating I could realistically be setup to donate within 10 minutes of entering instead of 90 minutes. First day phlebotomist was also nice and was skillful in putting the needle in my genetically small veins. Staff have a very friendly almost family like vibe throughout this place. Some are blunt in their delivery which to a person that wasn't use to dealing with that personality type I can see as being misperceived as being rude. Than in some cases patients not being fully explained specifically why they may being deferred I can see why that can cause irritation and lead to this place having a current 2 ½ star rating at time I'm giving my rating. Only thing I'll recommend is some staff need just little customer service/etiquette training. In addition questionnaire need be updated to reflect people that identify as trans and/or nonbinary. I give this CSL location 4 out of 5 stars.Above statement were my thoughts prior to October 26th. Since than, I was deferred not once but twice due to high heart rate that didn't seem to happen til it was time for me get my blood pressure check. All my other numbers were normal and my temperature always between 97-99. It took the head nurse figure out I have white coat syndrome which elevates my heart rate only when I have to have my heart rate checked which now makes sense considering my diet is healthy, I avoid exercising, caffeine consumption and sugar consumption prior coming in. First two times I donated I got my blood pressure checked in a private room which could explain why my heart rate wasn't up because I wasn't stress by the nurses at the front desk but when trying to make my third donation my heart rate was up. It was only when the doctor and nurse took my heart rate in the medical room it was within normal range yet nothing could be done to cancel out the deferral. I was deferred first time for 2 weeks. Returned after my two week deferral around November 17th only be denied one more time and forbidden from even trying the following day. If it was going automatically put me on a 30 day deferral why didn't the nurse simply inform me so I wouldn't waste my time coming back the following day? Guess silver lining of me returning the following day was the head nurse and doctor informing me about white coat syndrome. Only because of the head nurse and doctor along with one of the other phlebotomist that first attended to hooking me up to the machine the first time I donated, I'm giving this place two stars, without these three I would say this place deserves no stars. The nurses at the front are rude, dismissive, lack basic medical knowledge and excessively vulgar. Staff don't mind cussing like they're at home and even having the audacity to complain about wanting go hom. Even though their shift just started and only few people in line . Do not waste your time coming to this establishment.
Jennifer Goodwin: Too much standing in line. Plenty of chairs but you have to c stand. Employees are just talking amongst themselves.
Lonnie Walton: If workers would stop talking and laughing
Ivan Mancilla rebollar: DO NOT GO HERE !! Disgusting facility with a even worse staff. Everyone that works there with the exception of maybe 2 are extremely rude and disrespectful. Awful attitudes and will make fun of you for being broke in your face. The phlebotomist chew gum and eat food on the floor while doing your blood work. Awful experience every single time. Save yourself the time and go somewhere else because this place is horrendous.
Resse Turner: Today I donated and couldn't even receive my payment smh. Then the staff states that their payment que is down and that it will be hours before we get paid. We as donars weren't informed of this until after. It seems as if at this center there is also some type of issue. If it isn't short staff extremely long waits, running out of supplies like needless. CSL really needs to get it together. This doesn't scream professional
jonathan coltsfan: Employees alway fighting takes forever super unprofessional
Flecherlene McNeill: Service is HORRIBLE
Matt Gray: Dirty! Their infection control practices were sub par. One person was taking vitals the with the same gloves grabbed my ID and paperwork. That is inexcusable.
Rachel McLean: Ms Betsy and Ms ebony were fantastic and on the ball while everyone was conversating they were working there butts off. The place was packed and because of them the line was dwelling down.
Rich Litty: A lot of workers have quit and it has changed the whole process of donating. They should really work on hiring more people or getting their workers to focus on their actual job instead of talking to each other nonstop. AT LEAST not have an attitude after we've been waiting and want to stick with needle more aggressive than usual. This is supposed to be a professional establishment I assumed. This is the most workers I've seen since I've been here but somehow they are taking longer to get people going. I've been sitting in the donor seat waiting to get hooked up for about 30 mins to an hour and there are only like 2 people ahead of me waiting as well but they are still seating new people. I would not recommend donating here unless you literally have nothing else to do that day because they do not care about you or how long you wait or your time or money.

Freedom Plasma: what do users think?
Courtney Conn: First time donating at this facility. Honestly, it went really smooth and quick. Daeja was such a sweet person. She did my physical part. The lady who poked me did an amazing job as well. She did it in one go. I believe everyone referred to her as Ms. Kay. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because I noticed a lot of the girls working did not have a filter for their face. There were a lot of eyes rolling and snarky facial expressions. Other than that, smooth process, in and out quick.
Brianna Nicole: I got a paper this morning saying i donated at another facility which i understand but what i don’t understand is them saying that i donated more than twice a week i donated at my old center Thursdays and Sundays i came and donated at this center Thursday and was told to come back Saturday because they aren’t open on Sundays so I’mVery confused those are two different weeks so how did i violate anything but that’s not why I’m leaving a 1 star or that I’m upset I’m upset at the lady who was at the vital signs desk 1 at 7:45 with the dreads who when she called and i came up to the counter said hello and good morning to just ignored me and looked away then while I’m waiting to see what’s happening she didn’t say hold on the lady Mrs amber will be right with you or anything we just stood there in total silence and it was extremely awkward she looked like she had an attitude i guess because i was confused on what i had violated in the rules with them but she still could’ve said hello and good morning back i think that was extremely rude and unprofessional not too mention when i came with my fiancé that Thursday as new donors the lady at the front desk had attitude as well but just that interaction today alone with that lady made me not want to come back
Juss Rich: I came in Tuesday as a new donor and Kia assisted me with enrolling and the process was very smooth.; she also screened me and when she did my finger stick I barely felt it which I appreciate because other centers would stick me 3 times I am very happy with the entire process I had a very nice experience and the phlebotomist that stuck me was so patient because my veins are hard to find but Chanel was excellent I will be back to this center great staff is hard to find!
anastacia conner: It has been about 3 years since I last donated at the Grifols donation centers and stopped due to constant pain caused and ridiculous wait times. I decided to try again with a new place as they are right up the street from my house. I was in and out of there in less than 2-1/2 hours as a new donor, no pain from needle insertion, no sickness after donation, no bruising/swelling, or anything I usually got from the other place. Definitely worth the visit even if you’re short on time
Candace Fajen: Informative & helpful. Money was put right on the card.
Jimmy Jenkins: Cierra is the sweetest person in the world 💜💜💜💜
Maurice Neloms: Cierra was great
akyirem agyemang: I went here multiple times but never have I meet any manager so rude before it makes me not want to come back anymore
Ashley Hair: McKenzie is absolutely patient and wonderful I always look forward to seeing her when I come in.
Courtney Sistrunk: Nikel is awesome. She is very caring and concerned about donors comfort. The first time she stuck me I didn't even feel it. This is the second time she has stuck me and it was just a little pinch.
Devante Sega: I love all of them ❤️especially Nikel!!!
Jarvis Moore: Nikel Is such a great Phlebotomist and She really goes above and beyond!!!!
Robyn Hall: Mckenzie Amanda and Ciara are my favorite people at this place if they leave me and alot of others are leaving behind them.i have had nothing but great visits with them and love it
Allen Kentrell Buxton: Excellent customer service
Shadow Gaming: Its a calm environment. The phlebotomists are highly trained. I highly recommend getting stuck by deonka. It's painless
Curtis Williams: Excellent worker Good WorkerYvonne
shawn greene: McKenzie is this best😁😁😁😁
Lisa Wilson: They're very judgemental.
Kim Green: This place runs so smoothly compared to others I went to. It is fairly new and some of the staff were still training when I was there but that didn’t really slow down the speed of the process at all. The ease and speed and overall friendliness of the staff made this such a pleasant experience even if you are getting a giant needle in your arm. Almost zero wait time, accepts walk ins, plenty of parking, and a couple of flat screen tvs to watch while you donated. I’m already referring people! 👍🏼👍🏼
Tyler: Super great place to donate. Staff is friendly and keeps you informed all the way through the process
Harry Everson: Nice place
