Town of Hope Mills Parks & Recreation: what do users think?
Heather Pierce: I won’t give another dime to Hope Mills parks and rec ever again. Sh*t show of an organization. Worst umpires ever. ZeroCommunication. Choosing all star teams without talking to their coaches. Having All-Star practices while regular season is still happening, which pulls girls out of their regular teams. Slimeball coaches that run the show. Think twice before putting your kids in Hope Mills rec.
Dewayne Holley: I do not recommend youth sports (baseball). My 9-year-old wanted to play baseball for the first time, so we signed him up and went to the "tryouts" which sounded odd because its rec league. Long story short they put all of the new kids on teams and then they allow the local travel baseball teams to play in the rec league against the teams with way less experience. There are 2-3 travel teams that use this as practice before travel season starts. I have no issue with travel kids playing in the rec league, but they should not be allowed to play as a travel team with their coach. You basically have 2-3 teams that beat all the other teams 20-0, this is not beneficial for any of the kids. I don't know whose idea this was or is, but it needs to be reviewed by someone with common sense.Travel teams and coaches talk to the umpires any way they want yell, scream, cuss, or whatever. However, if you or your child's team coach questions a call you are subject to being suspended from the park for 10 days. I honestly careless about the score board and more about the kids being treated fairly. I understand umpires and officials are human and do not always make the right call but a blatant disregard for the rules is unacceptable, you cannot have a set of rules for the travel teams and a different set of rules for the other teams. I do not know the names of the two umpires we have had recently but they were absolutely pathetic. If a baserunner FOR ANY TEAM runs outside of the baseline to avoid being tagged he is out! These are a few examples of why my kids will not be returning to Hope Mills Park and Rec for baseball. There are many more examples but for the sake of time and space I'll stop here.
gabe napoli: Excitement with Rec Soccer.
Dalton Hood: Worst parks and rec I have ever rented from!! Scream at you to get out one minute over your time, Treated our parents horrible and the stoped our rental for no reason. Please don’t take your child to any programs here, as they are all only they to collect a check and truly do not care about providing quality programs for hope mills children while also treating any rentals horrible.
Pearl Paradise: We love this park! Also a nice trail to walk around the whole park. Two different park and a basketball court they also have baseball fields. We love it here
M. Conaway: I would normally give this park 5 stars because we go here all the time, but the unexpected happened. My dauhater had to use the bathroom when we left. I'm not sure when the last time the portajohn was cleaned out,but it was pretty full and I didn't even want to see what the other one looked like. Also, I don't know why they haven't fixed the slide on one of the playgrounds because it's been taped and coned for over a month now which can be dangerous for smaller children.
Marge dederick: Love this park something for everyone. Walking trails play Basketball on the courts playground for tiny tots up.
Greachain O'Ceallaigh: This is a fantastic local park. Recently the city has expanded the car parking spaces, so patrons can roll right up to the basketball court or closer to the playground (including swings). The pathway around/ circumnavigating the park (there are some fitness type aides on the pathway that cuts through the middle) is approximately one mile around so this is nice for patrons who are counting/ logging miles as part of their personal fitness routines. The adjacent Police Department provides an extra sense of security but for the most part this park is a friendly place for all patrons in which to enjoy the great outdoors.
