Becca Iwinski: This place in mentioned by former slave Sarah Louise Augustus in "My Folks Don't Want Me to Talk About Slavery" by Belinda Humerence. It took me a minute to find the location on the map, as I hadn't realized it was actually still standing. They should absolutely keep this piece of history up for the sake of telling the stories of the souls who went through the atrocities of its' time
SHARON HENDERSON: Nice area, lots of shops and cafes.
jenny rhoden: Great place at the zombie walk
David Reeser: Just happened to be passing through been a long time Fayetteville resident and always thought the market house was a very unique building right there in the middle of that traffic circle. I hate to see it be removed from its original place. I think it needs to be revamped into a museum of some type that's just my opinion
Brian Delrosario: Open to the public. The Latin dancers from nextdoor at Volta Space have been using this space for classes and social dancing lately. Fun times.
Chris Tso: Nice area with lots of restaurants and nightlife.
Charles Harris: I just enjoy going downtown Fayetteville in this area to walk around to different stores shopping or eating...

Tina L.: Stephanie was a great guide! Very informative. Enjoyed the architecture of the home and the details inside with renovations. Easily takes you back to the time period of the Poe family. Enjoyed the free guided tour which lasted roughly 45 minutes.
Joe Cullen: Just know it is not the poet. They give amazing towers
Ellen Nikki Wirth: Best wedding venue!
Blue & Green Traveling Team: Beautiful home from the outside. Love the history behind this home. Unfortunately, when we went it was closed, but we will return for a tour soon.
Sky Thai: This house is dedicated to the other Edgar Allen Poe (not the poet, but a local businessman). He was an important figure in Fayetteville's history by owning the Poe Brick Company and was significant to the economy of the area. They have tours that should be resuming starting 12 November 2020, but check with the Museum of Cape Fear to verify. Suggested donations is $2 for adults and $1 for children. If you want to catch it with some Christmas decorations, they should have some wreaths and bows starting 28 November until 9 January.
Gary Kibble: Free tours on the hour about life during the beginning of the 20th century (1900's) for a affluent family in Fayetteville. The guild was cheerful and knowledgeable about the family and servants and the new technologies that changed how we lived.

CastleHoke: I love old houses. I restored the outside in 2016. great place for weddings, promotions and concerts.
Sara Nefzaoui: The Sanford House is a beautiful residence from the outside. However, we couldn't visit it. No visits can be scheduled for the moment and there is no information on when visits will be available. I called the number for further information but no one answered.
Steve H: You can see shadow people in the house.
more xXshadowWolf Gaming: Are you open on black friday
Sharon Collins: Went to a Christmas bazaar there. A beautiful house to display the Christmas items for sale. Their prices are top notch at this sale, meaning that they are low and I do real well there.
What's Your Sign Products: Architecture is impressive. Volunteer who opened door to us was explaining they are preparing for a fundraiser. Perhaps if they had a curator and offered tours money would be plentiful and house would not need to be sold.
Debbie Taggart: Rude staff and poor attitudes.
James Harding: Quite the history.
Patty Campbell: Beautifully maintained, at least from the outside. Doesn’t appear that there are any tours, sadly.
Lori Lozier: DO NOT PLAN YOUR WEDDING HERE. The grounds are absolutely fabulous but the staff that runs this place is the absolute worst. Starting with the contract. The person running this facility NEVER contacted the two people that signed the contract when there were issues. She notified her "friends" that she was having issues in getting the keys to the venue to the CONTRACTED individuals for the rehersal. The contract stated that the chairs and tables were to be set up. They were not. Additional laborers were hired last minute to assist with setting up of chairs and tables. There was no running water in the rooms designated for Dressing for the Bride and Groom. Half way through the reception she and her staff started telling folks to leave it was over. The staff dismissed the additional laborers that were hired by the Bride & Groom. She cussed my son and his new wife at the end of the wedding receptions....dropping the F bomb and claiming that this was the worst wedding ever. I would NEVER have thought the staff would be so disrespectful.
Brian Tyler: Historic property, now owned and maintained by the Women's Club of Fayetteville. In addition to the late 18th century residence, next to it is the architecturally unique oval ballroom. The complex, which also includes other out-buildings, lawn, gardens and parling lots, can be rented for weddings or special events. The house is open to the public annually as part of the Holiday House Tour.
zach harp: The property is owned by the Fayetteville women's club and there an informational plaque in front of it, but I don't know if or when they do any sort of tours, interesting to look at though, especially considering the house was built in 1797

Babe Ruth sign: what do users think?
757N Tides: Sign is not here anymore
David Barham: As of today 5/23/2023 the sign is not present. It actually looks like its been stolen .... the sign appears to have been broken off where it attaches to the pole. Disappointing
E.J. Rod: Came and the sign is no longer here.
Michelle M Tucker: George Herman "Babe" Ruth hit his first professional home run on this spot on March 7, 1914 at the age of 19.Ruth's blast came in a Baltimore Orioles intersquad exhibition game at the old Cape Fear Fairgrounds off Gillespie Street. Of course, the field is long gone. (currently a NC DOT facility).A state historical marker stands on Gillespie Street to commemorate the event. The Bambino spent about a month in Fayetteville in 1914 as part of spring training.Parked in the parking lot of the DOT.

Downtown Fayetteville Tours: what do users think?
James M. Walker, Realtor Fayetteville: Awesome tour and history of downtown Fayetteville. You have to do the bar crawl. Two thumbs up from me.
Zack Sinyard: Took the haunted tour with Andy and it was the most fun I've had a tour, was very informative. Couldn't have asked for a more exciting and fascinating tour, thank you so much!
Lacy Kells PT, DPT: We had so much fun on our haunted tour of downtown with Andy! We did a group of us and we laughed, gasped, and enjoyed the whole evening. We are planning to come back and do the historic tour soon bc we enjoyed this one so much!!
Marguerite Meheganmondore: We truly enjoyed the ghost tour! Andy was very knowledgeable about all of the areas we covered. Will definitely come back for the "Bar Crawl"
Joseph Davis: The tour was exactly what I expected scary and a very knowlegable tour guide with a cool outfit...my only regret was going on such a cold night.
Wanda Griffin: Our large group of 37 people had a delightful tour of downtown Fayetteville with Andy Iglesias and his team on Saturday, March 23. I enjoyed working with Andy prior to the trip to consider various options for our group. He planned a good balance of walking and riding for our tour. His tour guides were in costume appropriate for the sites we visited. This added interest to our tour. I enthusiastically recommend Downtown Fayetteville Tours for any size group. (Posting for Arvil from Lawndale Baptist Church)
Anca Hetrick: I really enjoyed the tour, the guide was really bice and funny.I did the historical tour and i really recommend it to anyone that wants to know more about Fayetteville.
Brittany Villa: My husband and I did a bar crawl tour, and ended up being the only two on the tour. Andy was wonderful and very informative; we learned so much about the town that we didn't know before, and found some new places we want to visit again. The only critique I have is that two hours is not enough time for the amount of places we visited. Thank you for the tour!
Jonathan Williams: Awesome tour, very entertaining and fun!
DawnSelfish: I grew up here and actually never knew any of this information‼️. I loved it and will definitely be looking forward to seeing more from #downtownfaytours.
Michelle Vinson: My family and I had a great time on the walking tour and learned a lot about Fayetteville history. There are so many things we learned that even us locals didn’t know! The tour guide is so good at storytelling, and even kept our youngest child entertained. Very family friendly! Would highly recommend, and I can’t wait to go on their bar crawl for date night with the hubby!! :)
Entertainment Warehouse: All I can say is WOW! This Ghost tour exceeded my expectations and delivered a very fun filled evening for my friends and I! The tour guide is very fun and entertaining, he kept us interested and a great story teller. The tour lasted around an hour and forty five minutes long, time really flew past us. We received a discount for booking a group tour and I must say it is well worth every penny, we are looking forward to plan another group tour for their bar crawl it sounds very fun! I recommend this company for anyone young or old who are looking to try something new and different!
Oscar Igles: My experience in Downtown Fayetteville Tours was amazing! I had the opportunity to learn about this town full of history.Thank you so much for this astonishing experience. Definitely coming back for more!
