"We recently utilized the services of John Sloggy to integrate the Functional Innovation component of Value Engineering into our product development process (PDP) for the development of an important new core product. The session kicked off by identifying critical user issues that were required by the user and translated that into functions that were necessary, the importance of those functions along with the resources allocated to those functions. “The Value Analysis workshop John worked with us on was requested on short notice and John was very responsive in planning the workshop. He quickly got the team up to speed on the process and the team building that took place was outstanding. The Value Analysis was performed on roadway construction project in a National Park. Therefore, the workshop needed to conform to the National Park Service’s specific guideline, Choosing by Advantages, and John was very well versed in the process. During the workshop John did a great job of walking the team through the process and keeping everyone on schedule. Several of the team members, FHWA and NPS officials, commented that this was one the best and most efficient VA workshops they had attended. We would definitely use Value Based Design on future workshops.”
