Brandy Newtown: This company advertises “Open 24 hours” on their website. I had work done in preparation for a pool to be installed on March 31, 2023. I came home after work on 6/23, and all of my exterior outlets had quit working. The pool outlet as well. The most disturbing is that I have a fish pond that needs the pump running to provide oxygen. I reported the concerns and they did not have anyone available until 4 pm on Monday. The receptionist informed me that they had 2 electricians and they were booked the rest of the day. The receptionist kept putting me on hold to speak with the electricians with each concern that I voiced in hopes of getting someone out to my house, but was unable to get anyone to make an exception. The other electrician (the one that actually did the work in March had left for the day). How is this 24 hour service?Last, we found a local electrician that felt losing all the power to our outside outlets was extremely concerning! He made it to our house after a full day of work around 5pm. He actually took the time to check all of our outlets in our garage and exterior. He found the pictured outlet, which had absolutely nothing plugged into it, smoking!! If I could leave a zero on this company, I would. They charged me $800 in March and could not come out on their 24 hour advertised promise. My house could have easily experienced an electrical fire on 6/23/23… your 30 day warranty means absolutely nothing to me in this circumstance. This is complete false advertisement!

Terrence Robertson: I had Cape Fear install a new Goodman HVAC for my home, and they did a great job. Tom and Travis showed up on-time, worked in the rain, and they even cleared the brush and tree limbs that were crowding my old unit/install site. I'll admit the Cape Fear was not the cheapest option after getting quotes for 5-6 companies, but they were certainly MUCH cheaper than Blanton's, in my case. Thanks!

Mateo Paul: I was signed up for their prepaid annual HVAC maintenance which included 2 cleanings per year and a modest discount on any potential repairs. The technician incorrectly insisted I needed a water pump (should have been a gravity fed drain, per NC code), and then installed it very poorly to where it caused water back up, mold, and other problems. I found this out years later when I went into my crawl space with a trustworthy professional who pointed out all the mistakes and shortcuts of the individual who installed the water pump. The only thing they did satisfactory was the cleaning.I'm very disappointed because I had a positive opinion about this company at first. They showed up promptly 8am the day of the install and the lead technician Tom introduced himself along with his crew Max and Travis and got to work right away. They were very professional and courteous throughout the day. Several hours into the install I went to check on outside portion of the HVAC system and had a question about the unit model being installed. I asked Tom about the model, and he wasn't able to answer my question completely, but he called his supervisor, and he was to give me the information I requested. I thought that was pretty good customer service. After the work was done the install crew cleaned up and removed all construction debris to include vacuuming the attic access bedroom, hallway, and stairs.They finished up a little after 6pm and Tom showed my wife and myself the features and operation of the thermostat.I would highly recommend Cape Fear A/C for your HVAC needs. Dennis Shoener: Originally fast service when we used in Sept 2021Now Spring 2022 during a service call did not reconnect the AC compressor on upstairs unit, it fried my unit. Cape fear said unit was old and was going to break anyway. when we complained they offered to take $500 off a new unit, not even fix the 3k part they broke. When we complained they took 3k off the overall price of the new unit. Now a few months later we need a downstairs unit and quoted us 11k for whole unit. We called around and found same unit with upgrades for only 8k.Cape fear is over priced and no longer worth it to us. Terry Lee: Let the 1 Star reviews speak for themselves. I Called this company for a quote on a new system . During the call, I asked if their company provided any pictures of their work under my house after completion and perhaps before installation. And they had the nerve to ask me why do I need pictures? These days with shady contractors and expensive replacement costs Id assume it would be reassuring to the customer if a company would provide these. When I questioned if they provide them I got told to call another company they wouldn't be the right fit for me. Let the pictures do the talking to your quality or ( lack of Quality of work). The fact that this company is offended when asked for pictures of their work if I choose to go with them is very weird. They also got offended when I told them I was shopping around for quotes. Im not sure who calls one company only and goes with them but as a consumer I have a right to shop around. Not to mention they kept hanging up on me a total of 6 different times and blamed it on the phone system. I wouldn't use this company at all. Just because if you complete work, no one should be ashamed or against providing pictures showing a quality job has been performed. Especially since I wouldn't be crawling the house with the installers, and if it was an area I could see with my own two eyes I wouldn't be requesting pictures, to begin with! Something fishy is wrong with this company! And the receptionist is unbelievably rude! In this case, I will most definitely follow the recommendation and gladly call a company that isn't afraid to put the customer's mind at ease with proof of a job well done!

Paul Galloway: I called blantens on seven December with a power outage due to a storm that caused the surge in first part of my meter box and line. The house only had half power. Garrett came out and check the house and discovered the reason for the outage. We called the Lumbee River Power Co-op. Who checked the Box and discovered that it had been burnt up on the left side. The power was restored on Tuesday the 11th after an excellent job by Garrett. Power day the city inspector gave his okay to turn on the power and Lumbee River reinstalled the meter and turn the power on. Jacob Desjarlais: Blanton's send out a guy named Jason. He didn't listen to anything I was saying and kept trying to create huge jobs like running an entirely new water main line, even though it absolutely was not needed. He quoted me a range of price from $4000 to $7000 and told me that the only difference between the two prices was the cost of the disposal being either a 1/3 hp or 1 hp. When I asked what disposal has a 3000 dollar price difference he just shrugged and said he doesn't set the prices.Jason told me with a straight face that any disposal under $750 would rust within a few months and be useless, the only real disposals to use cost around $1100. He also said it would cost between $500 and $1000 to fix an outdoor spigot. They literally screw on and off.I've had issues with Blanton's before, but they were always quick to fix the problem or make it right. But a $7k quote for what every other plumber quoted me at $1500 for is ridiculous. They tried to do massive work on my house when not needed to just add money to the bottom line, then they tried to sell me an ELEVEN year financing plan. Ridiculous.I called them because I'm having a baby and don't have time to do the work myself and instead they give this absolutely insane quote.
