Christopher Long: I contracted overseas in Afghanistan. A year after I got home the IRS decided to audit me. I thought that I could be open and honest, I showed the auditor my justification as to why I qualified for the foreign income exclusion and left it at that. Well, the IRS auditor tried to use case law against me and was coming for me for $33,000 plus interest.
