We went with them after another company kept blowing us off, not returning calls, or not showing up when promised. From the beginning, the experience with Magnus Anderson was a breeze. Richard came out to do the estimate and was friendly, punctual, and quick. I didn’t realize at the time that they also do cabinet refinishing and indoor painting so we elected to do the whole renovation project with them since we had to move furniture and be out of the house anyway and figured it’d be easiest to go with one company versus 3. Esther was absolutely PHENOMENAL at coordinating everything and everybody! We were in communication throughout the whole entire project. She provided an accurate timeline, frequent status updates, guidance on what finishings to select and why, and clear instructions on when we needed to be in/out of the house. It was incredibly well organized! Gus who was subcontracted to do the flooring was also fantastic. He was also great at communicating the timeline. Would keep me updated on arrival time or let us know if something was running behind. He helped us troubleshoot a new game plan after the floors were sanded and we realized we had different woods in connecting rooms. His suggestions were spot-on and I ended up liking the floors way better than my original idea. Gus takes great pride in his work and it was obviously important to him that we liked his finished product. The painting and cabinet work was awesome and done faster than I would have ever imagined. A walk through was done at the end and every little blemish was addressed. I can’t say enough good things about our experience. I would highly recommend them for any home project you are looking to do! Ryan Callahan: We had Magnus Anderson refinish the wood floors in our home we recently purchased. The floors are 15 years old and showed. Not only that but the color had yellow/gold tones in it which we were not huge fans of. After a lot of research we decided to give Magnus Anderson a call. The job started on a Friday and finished on a Tuesday (no work done on Sunday). I will say it took a bit longer than we expected but the quality is all there. We went with Special Walnut stain, a Satin coat and the floors look brand new. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to keep their wood floors and bring them back to life.Service:Repair flooring

Chris Manor: I set up two appointments for them to come out, and give me an estimate; dissatisfied with both. On the first appointment, they told me a timeline they would be there, and when he didn't show, I was told they had a different time....I was writing it down AS THEY TOLD ME. On the second appointment I was told the timeline, I called 15 minutes prior the end time I was given and he didn't show up for an additional 45 minutes; 30 minutes AFTER the allotted hour I was given. When he did show, he took the measurements and said he would email me the estimate....he confirmed my email....STILL NOTHING. Completely disappointed in this business!

John is so reliable, so conscientious, so gracious and professional. We live in Richmond and contracted Brewington Flooring to install new floors in our house at Wrightsville Beach. Managing the project long distance was easy because John and his team were so reliable. The project required moving furniture, taking out old carpeting, installing new boards to match existing. It was a complicated job and Brewington Floors managed each piece to perfection. I highly recommend Brewington Flooring!

Varonika Maeigh: I hired this company to refinish my wood floors and to install two rooms with enginerred wood. I was still living in Virginia while they did the work, so i trusted them to do a nice job, but that was not the case. I paid promptly, based on a couple of photos i was sent. Big mistake. They left trash in my yard and dust everywhere. The doors that they removed, they did not re-hang. The floor grates were not put back in place and one was cut improperly and can not be returned to it's proper place without being re-cut. The dining room floor has flashing were the stain was not evenly covered. They used a cheap plastic transition piece in berween my newly refinished wood floor and the newly installed engineered wood floor. The engineered wood floor creaks when you walk on them. Lastly, I believe I was price gouged for the amount of work that was done. $5,000 for a weeks labor and the only material provided was stain, finish, shoe molding in two rooms and the cheap transition pieces. I should have price shopped.

Cindy Rosado: I reached out to John on June 25 to ask for an estimate. John had availability and stopped by that afternoon. He sent a written estimate later that evening. We had a few more estimates done and on Friday let John know we decided to go with him.The reason we selected him was that his reviews looked good, photos looked good and our son had his own small business and we try support small businesses as much as possible.John wanted to start the job immediately the next day- Saturday. But we told him we couldn’t let him start until Sunday or Monday. He said ok. Then on Saturday he called us late morning requesting if he could start. We said ok as our plans had changed.On Saturday two men showed up at our door. They had sanding equipment. We assumed they worked for John. We called John and he said he was on his way here and that they were there to sand the stairs. We let the men in and they were going to start sanding right away. I stopped and asked are you going to protect the floors and furniture etc? We just had our whole house painted that same week to include the stair kick plates. We also asked about removing the right iron caps on the stairs. He said it was not necessary.They sealed the rooms off with plastic and protected everything. They were very fast and efficient. After about 1.5 hours they were cleaned up and gone. (We overheard John talking to the stain guy on Sunday that these guys were Brazilians from Charlotte and they were great).John said he would apply the stain Sunday- he said what would take the most time would be taping off the kick plates to protect the new paint.On Saturday he arrived with another gentleman who mixed and applied 90% of the stain. He did not tape the kick plates as he said he because the stain guy said it was not necessary. I was then told it will take 24 hours to dry.On Monday John came to apply the poly. But the stain was still tacky and he said he would return Tuesday to apply the poly, because if you apply poly to stain that is not dry it will pull. I also shared my concerns about the corners on the stairs not being even in stain. He said it was because they didn’t scrape it. It was not even or consistent.On Tuesday I called himand told him the stain was still tacky, but he says it willbe ok. He arrives with his uncle late morning.I share with him the stain is still tacky. But insists it’s ok. He starts to apply the poly.I ask him to please protect the floors and to also wipe the stairs down before he applies the poly.He tells me I’m trying to tell him how to do his job. He says you don’t have to wipe the stairs down.They apply the poly and then say they will be back in 4 hours to sand and apply poly again. Then he calls around 5:30 to tell me he’s on his way. I request to let the poly dry overnight and finish it tomorrow. He tells me it is not necessary to dry overnight.He shows up around 6:30 with his uncle, sands and applies the second coat of poly.Then he wants to be paid.The following morning he requests a photo of the stairs for his website. He didn’t say could you please or thank you. I did not send him pictures.That same day I tell him the stairs have bubbles. He insists its natural and says it’s the grain.I told him I’m going to get a second opinion and if it’s poly bubbles will he come back and fix it?I have not heard from him since...I now have to have the top finish removed by sanding and then have the two coats of poly reapplied.Brewington’s Flooring did a substandard job. They do not stand behind their work by remedying their deficiencies. They sub out the work and their overall floor knowledge is lacking.He also left me mineral spirits to clean the residue of an aerosol poly that one of the guys sprayed on. He did not clean it, he left it for me to do. We also had to repaint the kick plates ourselves.

All of them said no way. That is until Brewington's Flooring answered. Friendly phone call. Later that day, they were quickly fixing my mistakes. They made quick work of my almost 500 sq ft space. Could not of asked for a better team to do flooring. Even during the installation, they took the time to talk me through everything so I was never in the dark about where the project was.
