A K Mc Callum Co: what do users think?
Allana Hall: Bought my first and last boat with them. Never again. Once they finally get all of our stuff straight, we’ll be doing business elsewhere. Which I guess it doesn’t matter, they still got the sale.
Anthony Harrington: Can't believe how bad the customer service was at this place
James White Sr: Damn good staff. Will stocked for all those hard to find fishing gear and outboard parts. I'll repost this
Mike Hair: Great service and selection of all your fishing and boating needs. Highly recommend.
larry Contrary: I went in for a boat trailer. I thought I needed something larger, more expensive. They guided me to the right (smaller) model, saving me a few hundred and it was a perfect fit. Thanks guys, I’ll see y’all again soon.
Seavy Dickson: I can't stress enough how seamless and professional my recent experience with A.K. McCallum was.We took our family's old 17' Whaler Montauk in for a simple re-power to breathe some new life into the nearly ~40 year old vessel, and the results were fabulous. Not only did they deliver on time and on budget, but the team at A.K. went above and beyond with new hydraulic steering / cables, a custom helm panel, new stereo, and sounder / GPS. They even fixed the running lights unprompted and at no additional charge - it's like a brand new rig and we are eager to get it back on the water for the next generation to enjoy for years to come.I will not hesitate to return to A.K. in the future for any and all marine needs - the service is top notch and it is provided in a friendly, transparent, and professional manner. The bonus is working with a family-owned establishment that truly values your business as opposed to a number in a line at the larger shops at the coast.Hats off to Jody, David, Lockett and the team - keep up the great work!
Chris Craven: Bought new boat, had to return weeks later ,from out of town ,with a punch list.(careless rigging, service dept.fixed problems and apologized for all the mishaps.) Advice, I wouldn't suggest purchasing a boat a "AK"...Several other dealers in area with alot cheaper, better quality products/units.(Example-Marine Warehouse etc.) AK Mc Callum Co. Is definitely not the biggest and best jon-boat dealer in the area. Please don't waste time driving to Fayetteville NC. to "AK" to be disappointed.
Donna Wade: My husband ordered a boat and motor with a large deposit in August 2020, going on 2 years ago. He has not received the first call about it. He has had to call them over and over trying to get an update. All he gets is "I don't know anything. We haven't been able to get any motors." Well that is obviously not true, based on their website. I don't see how they stay in business with such poor service.Well, it is now February 2023, 2 1/2 years since my husband ordered a $15,000 boat with motor. Still no boat and still no motor. AND no communication.
Keith Ward: Employees knowledgeable and helpful. Bought several new adult life jackets and boat motor transom support for use while trailering. Also bought several fiberglass fishing poles. Lots of nice boats in stock. Highly recommend.
Robert Williams, Jr.: Older family owned tackle and boat shop. Good selection of boat accessories, boats and fishing and hunting supplies.
Breece Gahl: They advertise as the largest jon boat dealer in the SouthEast, yet they dont have 1, not ONE jon boat in the boatyard right now 🤣
Dwight peeler: Bought a 30hp tohatsu from them about a month ago. They were very nice and fixed my boat just like i asked. I will be back. They could not have been nicer. I have some health problems and they could not have been more helpful.
Paul Hoover: I purchased a boat and 2016 Load Rite Trailer from them in October 2021. I was told the title for the trailer would be handled on their end and given 30 day tags, but it never arrived. I followed up on multiple occasions. I was told by Brad that he was working with the DMV on it and would call me back as soon as he talked with them. He did not. I followed up with multiple phone calls, messages through the website, email and facebook. They have not contacted me on this and will not respond. I’m now over 200 days without a title or license plate. They seemed great when I first purchased the boat. The experience since then has been terrible.Edit: A couple of months later, no one at the company contacted me or gave me an update. The reply below was the only response I have received. I ended up having to get with the DOT, have them come out to inspect it and purchase a lost title indemnity bond. I have now paid for a bond I shouldn't need and the title and tags twice since McCallum charged me for it at time of purchase.
April & Brian Outdoors: This place was a life saver the only boat within a 100 mile radius I could buy brand new
Andrea Gunnell: Bought a boat, very professional and a great team!
Jennifer Broughton: Helpful people.
Family of Nine 9: Love the service here
Charles Bowen: Purchased a creek boat from Van at AK Mc Callum. The encounter with Van and the gentleman that put the seat and motor on the boat was excellent. I'm completely satisfied with the purchase and would be happy to do business with them again.
Kathy Farley: Buy local. Friendly staff and the place is loaded with all your fishing needs
Tammy Fowler: My dad ordered a john boat from this place over a year and a half ago. Young Brad is the one he's been dealing with this whole time. They never once called my dad he was the one having to call them weekly to get updates. It was always "oh shipping is slow" "it's been ordered we're just waiting on parts" "Covid has everything slow right now" "it'll be next week" We've been hearing it'll be next week for about 8 months now. It took him driving up there this morning and the boat was in the back sitting on the floor no parts including the motor was never ordered no tracking or even an order form. Never do business with this place. They are horrible. All they're concerned about is taking ppl money and never providing the product. If I could put negative stars I would.
Beth Ivey: We bought a boat 2 years ago almost now and one of the seats was torn. We were promised a new seat. Well COVID hit and things went crazy. Now almost 2 years later we have been told it was sent to us UPS. That was a week ago. Tonight was the day of delivery but guess what no seat. We have been lied to from the beginning and this is wrong. I have talked to the guy that sold us the boat and time and time again lies. WE DESERVE OUR NEW SEAT. Don't TELLS US ONE THING AND THEN FIND OUT IT IS A LIE
