Birds Nest Montessori School: what do users think?
Cristina Mnerie: My daughter started at BNMS before she turned two, and it's been over four years now since this school became her second home and happy place. She never complained about being bored or overwhelmed, and she's always excited about her little "work" and "lessons" that they do at school. She was never pushed or left behind and was able to learn a great deal at her own pace. They learn good manners, how to be kind and friendly. The teachers are very experienced and loving. I highly recommend this school, it's the best choice that I could have made for my daughter.
Curtis Blake: My son totally loves it at school. He learns so much and feels comfortable and confident in school. Communication with the staff is very easy and efficient.
Brian Haney: We just moved to the area and are so fortunate to have found Birds Nest Montessori for our 4-year-old. He loves his teachers and looks forward to school every morning. His 2-year-old sister will be joining him in the fall and we cannot say enough good things about this school or its teachers. We highly recommend taking a look if you are interested in an organized, respectful and loving environment for your children.
Annah A: My sons have attended Birds Nest since we moved to Fayetteville three years ago. We love the teachers and Montessori program. I recommend the school whenever parents are looking for a private school.
Elise Dixon: My 4 year old son has been going to Bird’s Nest for the past two years and we love it. BNMS has provided structured, calm, imaginative play opportunities for my son and he has thrived there— he was nearly fully potty trained within weeks of getting there, he knows all his letters and numbers, practices writing all the time, and can cut paper like a champ. He is more than prepared for kindergarten. Most importantly, the teachers there obviously love him and want him to thrive. My son loves everyone there so much, and talks about them on the weekends and sometimes asks to call them or send them a message (especially his favorites, Ms. Marlene and Miss Jaylah). They are his second family in a lot of ways. I recommend this school to every parent I talk to— the rates are affordable and the education and care is top notch. I can’t speak highly enough of Bird’s Nest, and once my 10 month old is old enough, he’ll join his brother there as well.
Christina LePorte: Our now 3 year old started 8 months ago. She loves it. Her speech has vastly improved and her interaction with kids is amazing. We love Ms. Marlene and Ms. Jaylah. We will be enrolling our baby when she is old enough to attend.
Gna Kersten: Our son started at BNMS school two years ago and our Daughter started 5 months ago and we have had an amazing experience. They love the teachers and have simply blossomed. Wonderful nurturing environment where they are thriving academically.
Jessica Cedeno: My son started at BNMS when he was three. He is about to turn four and I plan to keep him there at least another year! I love the teachers, the facility, and how much he has learned!
Tiffany Ragan: The best decision I ever made! I started my children here when my son was 20 months and daughter was 3. It was the first time either of them had been in childcare, and the teachers at Birds Nest Montessori took care of them like they were their own children. It soon became not only their school, but their second home. I realize a Montessori is not for everyone, but for my children they have learned independence, respect, and gratitude. After 4 years, I am still pleased with the education, care, and respect that my children receive. I love this school and the teachers!
Molly Wight: We love everything about BNMS. My daughter is excited to go to school everyday and we love the way she has grown since being there. We highly recommend them!
Asumpter Warees: Awesome!!!!!!!
Wes Sparks: I took a tour of this school with the intention of enrolling my children. They got very agitated when I started asking about teaching credentials and college education. All of the teachers attended school out of the country so they could not be confirmed. The montessori registration is no longer valid, and they have no montessori training credentials. questionable at best.
Audrey Wilkins: Our family is grateful for the ladies at Bird's Nest Montessori School! My son loves going to school every day, and he loves his classmates and teachers. My husband and I are extremely impressed with all the things our son is learning at only 4 years old. He is not only learning vocabulary, math, science, but he loves the art, music, and all the fun. Highly recommend this school!
Wynn Mallicoat: My daughter has been attending Birds Nest since February 2016. In that time, she has mastered so many skills! The teachers are conscientious in all areas of caring for and educating her from hygeine/cleanliness to providing individualized learning opportunities based on her developmental level. I was particularly pleased with the gradual way they transitioned her from the younger class into the "big kid" class, allowing her to adjust comfortably to the "new" environment down the hall. My daughter responds well to the clear expectations and structure provided. She loves her teachers and opportunities to learn new things every day. She will be 3 next month, and she is already learning math! The communication with parents is also very good, and the teachers are always responsive to my questions. Parental involvement is encouraged. Events are planned throughout the year to allow parents to mingle with each other and appreciate the friendships that our children have built and the work they have completed. I am feeling confident about our younger daughter attending in the next few months when she is old enough. If you choose for your child to attend this school, you can rest assured that your child will be well-cared for and loved as he/she is educated in an intimate environment.
Laura Bernstein: I could not be more pleased and grateful for the teachers at BNMS. My daughter absolutely loves going to school there. At 3 she is already learning Spanish, geography, anatomy, many practical life skills such as cleaning and working together in groups, as well as writing and math.
Shivani Kohut: BNMS is a high quality Montessori school in an intimate setting which is great for little kids. Our boys (3 and 5) have attended for about 9 months now after we moved to town from WA and they both love going to school every day. They have very different personalities, but are doing very well with the Montessori style child-led development. Ms Liz, Ms Marlene, Ms Darylie and Ms Limelga are kind and patient, and really care about all the kids taking time to understand each one. The kids at the school are articulate, considerate, and seem genuinely happy to be there. There are regular parent-teacher conferences, and the teachers are always available to talk about any concerns, which is valuable to me as an involved parent. I've been quite impressed by what my sons have learned in the short time they have been there - the best part is that they enjoy the learning process and have fun with their "works". We look forward to our boys remaining at BNMS as long as possible!
Kiran Grewal: Looking for certain personality traits in students/parents. Our daughter started BNMS two weeks ago, I received a call from Ms. Marlene stating she is still crying and disturbing other students. Her two week trial period is over and I should pick her up. She is 20months, first time out of house. Please pay close attention to teachers body language, which I ignored and shouldn't have. As a physician mommy I urge you to do your homework, take time before considering this pre-school.
William Hacker: Very positive experience at Birdsnest Montessori. It is very clean, calm and organized environment. Our daughter has not been ill one time from school which is an accomplishment from talking to other parents with young children in school. Daughter started at 18 months old. I like that the same teachers are with her all day during school and after school program. As a military family this kind of consistency seems really important to our daughter. I toured several other highly recommended preschools in the area and did not get the same warm feeling and that the kids were enjoying themselves as I did when I toured birdsnest. I like that the kids are not just going from center to center all day. Daughter has flourished in being able to work on practical life skills that she is motivated to master. The teachers foster kids being assertive with each other and learning to solve problems with them which makes for a very calm environment for all.
Virginia Roles: Everybody at this school has been fantastic! My children have learned so much in such a short amount of time. Even if you have to go on a waiting list, this place is absolutely worth waiting for.
N Bentz: We LOVE LOVE LOVE this school. The moment I walked into Birds Nest I knew that this was where my daughter had to go. I had already visited more than a few other daycare/preschools in the area and was not happy with any of them. I knew my daughter would be safe and well taken care of, what I didn't know was how much she was going to learn!! She has grown leaps and bounds in the 2 years she has been with Ms. Marlene and she cant wait to move up to Ms. Liz'z class next year!
Cj Summers: I can't say enough positive about our experience at BNMS. I was impressed from the minute I walked through the door. My kiddos were in both the toddler class and the upper class through Kindergarten. They cried the day I told them the school stopped at Kindergarten. My oldest child was doing multiplication and division...in Kindergarten! And not because they forced it on him, because he did what it took to do it and he LOVED it! I was amazed EVERY day at how much my boys were learning! The Montessori way is for the teachers and children to respect each other. This couldn't be more evident in how this school is run. The enrichment activities, the nurturing, the care for the well-being of the children...amazing!I give this school my highest recommendation. My boys still talk about BNMS often and truly miss Ms. Liz and Ms. Marlene!

First Impressions Academy: what do users think?
Rebecca Alam: My husband and I are both public school teachers, with 17 and 20 years experience respectively. After all we have seen and experienced, there was a long list of musts when considering private school for our children. First Impressions Academy checks every box and has exceeded our expectations. This will be our 6th year at FIA and every year we are blown away. The school provides a tight-knit, family feel. Small class sizes ensure that students' individual needs are met and all children get the attention they deserve. The staff is filled with quality, degreed and credentialed teachers who know the content and effective strategies for instruction. It is apparent that the staff loves and cares for the children. The leadership has been amazing since my first encounter, including calming my anxiety about my little one going to preschool. They have an open door policy and I've always felt comfortable talking to them. I am so glad we found FIA six years ago. It truly has been the best experience for our children! I know that no matter where the future may take us, my children have a strong foundation because of First Impressions Academy.
dennis kinlaw: Absolutely the worst place for developing your child socially and academically. My grandchild attended First Impression grades 1 through 4 before we pulled him out. Unqualified teachers, bad attitudes, teaching skills and curriculum are not suitable for your child’s growth and development. Better off in public schools or Christian school where staff and methods are more normal. Owner of school doesn’t take criticism constructively, instead she defends her staff right or wrong. 4 years at this school nearly ruined our GC. After home schooling, and enrolling our GC in a more appropriate atmosphere at a local Christian school, our GC is back to normal and enjoying life and school. Stay away from this school.
Troy: Wonderful school
Kirstyn Martin: Our kids have learned so much since being at FIA. The level of education they recieve there is outstanding and above other schools in the area. We love the small class sizes and personal feel! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and truly care about each student.
Anyeliz Perez: I am a proud parent to a wonderful student at this school and I couldn’t be happier. The staff is amazing and the environment for my daughter is welcoming. My daughter loves going to school and absolutely loves the STEM program. She loves that she can do actual experiments in science almost daily. I have read other reviews and I noticed one said that they make you sign a contract stating not to share bad reviews, THIS IS FALSE!!! They have a standard contract for payment, school uniform policy, attendance and discipline. If your looking for a school for your child to excel and learn, then this is the place for you. If you are the type of parent that has issues with having your children miss school then this school is not for you! They follow the state attendance policy and there are to many parents that get angry when their kids get more than 10 unexcused and the school has to legally take action. The school uniforms are Mandatory and have to be purchased from a specific company. This school is about having a structured school setting. This school is not for you if your not devoted to your child’s education and not planning to abide school policy. This school is for devoted parents dedicated to wanting the best education possible and being responsible enough to take their kids to school like they are supposed to.
Katie Terry: Best place for our children. Highly recommend!
Jennifer Quinones: First Impression Academy doesn't feel like a school, it feels like a family. My 6th grader is thriving in middle school the STEM program is one you will not find anywhere in this town or surrounding cities. The hands-on projects, real-world experiences, and level of academics is second-to-none. We completed in regional Science Olympiad and our small school is going to state. I can't count the number of times we were asked; "What school are you guys from!"The children are so close and have created a culture amongst themselves of support, encouragement, love, and respect. Our kids are different, and everyone who encounters them can see it. FIA is committed to character building, self-reliance, respect, and accountability. I trust my teachers; I trust our staff, they will leave no stone unturned. I know my child is important to them and when in school I know, she is in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. First Impressions Academy is truly Fayetteville's little GEM; we are so blessed to be here.
honest review: Very dishonest about the quality of education offered as well as the favoritism.
Kim Nagowski: We have been a FIA family for 4 years. As an educator I know the importance of meeting the needs of all children and that is an area that FIA excels in. If your child needs to be challenged they are and if your child needs extra help, they provide it. The teachers are able to teach the students using creativity since they are not just teaching to a test. The students do take standardized tests from grade 3 on and do well above average because of good teaching at the level of the students. The class sizes are very small, usually 10-12. These small classes allow for the individualized instruction when needed. My daughter loves FIA and even asks to be taken back after appointments. It's now summer and she misses her friends and school. We are excited about the new middle school with a STEM focus (Science Technology Engineering and Math)!
Peter Robinson: The staff at First Impressions Academy is really great with communication. They are always available, attentive, and responsive whenever we have questions about our kids or their progress in school. I recommend FIA highly to our friends and family.
Julianne Ottersbach: This school is phenomenal. We moved here from the public school system and DODea schools, and have never looked back. The class sizes allow for hands on teaching. The intimacy of the environment makes for endless support among the kids--they really build each other up and encourage one another. My children have found a second home at FIA where they have grown into comfortable and confident students. I could not recommend it enough. Five stars is too few.
Mike Reiley: I love their small class sizes and hands on style. Teachers are every caring, comfortable and create a good learning environment.
Christina Holly: Two of my children attend the First Impressions Academy and it is great. The schools academic curriculum is thorough and excellent.
Kali Cain: My two boys are at FIA and they LOVE it! Best curriculum and teachers I have seen. The small family atmosphere is wonderful and my children are so excited to go to school everyday. So happy we found FIA!!!
T Gaskins: for the full review please see YELP the emails are found there.I am including the email exchange with this review. This email exchange is what prompted me to even write the review. The tone, the dismissiveness, the lack of professionalism, the fact that a spot mysteriously opens up once I complain and ask for a refund is all suspect. I want people to see for themselves the kind of administration that runs this school BEFORE you think of enrolling your child. Here's the thing no matter what I feel or complain about the administration should remain professional. The owner would have you believe this is about my child not getting a spot, but this is about a lack of professionalism. After scrambling and by the grace of God, we were able to enroll my daughter full time at another private school. The administration would have you think that this review is being posted from a place of maliciousness and truly it's not. It's not even about the refund. I asked for one they declined and that for me could have and would have been the end of it. However when I shared my disappointment with the process and the owner took it upon herself to dangle a spot that magically opened up (AFTER MY COMPLAINT) in front of me and then inferred that my child doesn't belong at her school BECAUSE she felt some type of way about my email and complaints...this is why I'm posting this review. It's beyond unprofessional, in fact it's down right insulting. We never got the chance to become a part of this school and honestly after this fiasco its for the best. I can only imagine how our concerns would have been addressed.Last let me add there are two people you will interact with Christy Pettit and Teresa Clayton, they make up the administration. You can just see by the email exchange who is professional and who isn't. In retrospect I even recall mentioning to my husband how cold the owner Christy Pettit was when we were introduced during our tour, but I chalked it up to possibly her having a bad day. The emails with her responding lets me know this is who she is. I understand this is their school and they are protective of it BUT there is also a need for professionalism. Based on my experience I wouldn't recommend anyone dealing with this school. I was highly impressed upon first glance but knowing the kind of people who are in the administration office and how they operate...wouldn't recommend.

Little Beginners Academy: what do users think?
Christine Slough: I am extremely blessed to have found this center. As a single parent it’s important to find a center you trust and do not have doubts in. The owner and entire staff truly are Earth Angels, they are the village behind the scenes helping my daughter thrive daily and develop. I recommend those seeking to find a center that prioritizes your children’s future- to request a visit here. I purposely chose to stay at Fort Bragg because of my daughters attendance here and how pleased I am with the staff and program overall.
LaVonda Brown: My kids love coming to daycare. Every teacher knows them by name, very kind and friendly staff! Would definitely recommend.

Highland Learning Center: what do users think?
Caitlyn Douglass: I love Highland Learning Center! My son has been in the infant room since he was 6 weeks old and I love being able to drop him off and have complete trust that he is being taken care of. They have an app where the teachers upload pictures throughout the day which is great too! Wish we were staying in the area so that he could enjoy the new playground they’re currently constructing.
sssdogwolf wolf: The boss is so rude Miss Robin is her. Name do not come do this daycare go to Snyder memorial Baptist church Fayetteville
Lauren Payne: Highland learning center did an excellent job at giving my son a strong base to grow. We enjoyed all the teacher and appreciate everything! Highly recommend!
Augusta Sandman: When I was searching for a daycare for my three years old, I picked Highland Learning Center as a possible choice, because location was close to my job. I read yahoo's reviews for this school and they were really bad, that was my biggest mistake, I enrolled my son into the school, were everyone was really kind and nice, I found out later on, that his teacher Mrs. Susan she seems overwhelmed most of the time she was with the kids, you can clear notice that she do not have any control of the kids. This school has a "Montessori method" well that method was not working at all, kids with different ages are blend into the classes, but no control overall, so is a 5 year old come and punch you son into the stomach and the teacher not even say a word, something is so wrong!!!! My son used to go to another school and he was so happy every morning, since I enrolled him in Highland Center just the idea of go there every morning was panicking him. More than once when my son ask his teacher that he needs to go to the bathroom she denied the permission, after that day, he was scared to go to the bathroom and just did it in his pants every day. I told my concerns to one of the administrators, and request them to switched him to another class. They denied that, well they do have a 2 weeks notice requirement for withdraw him to the school, but last time I was there and the teacher told me "I don't know what to do with him anymore, I tried everything but is not working", well after that comment was said, I was not feeling that I have continue exposing my son to people that cannot handle him, you are a certified teacher (I assume) and you cannot handle a 3 year old, I do not need to give you a 2 week notice, my son is not going there for two more weeks, when he was abused. He was not there for not even a month, and I have to pay enrolled fee that was around $150.00 and pay every 2 weeks the tuition, I cannot pay you for 2 more weeks , if my son is not going to be there, sorry. He is in a daycare now that I love, and he loves and the teachers are amazing, he goes to school everyday with a big smile in his face, and he never had a potty accident at all.I will filed a formal complaint against them because I want prevent other families to experience these.

Precious Moments Child Care and PreSchool: what do users think?
Lakayla Williams: RED FLAG ! Very unprofessional and poor childcare location. Please, if your child attends this daycare try to find another location for you children. This is NOT IT. This childcare is literally just taking peoples money and not teaching, the teachers are hitting children, they do not let you come in the building AT ALL to see the type environment your child is in. Also CDC needs to shut this building DOWN! I will be doing further investigation because this daycare is very unacceptable .
ALBERT AZABACHE: My son was the only Hispanic child in this facility and received a very bias treatment here. One of the teachers had her own child in the same classroom as everyone else so of course the mother allowed him to do almost anything. My son was always left out and was never happy in this facility. I even saw a different teacher hit a child in the classroom right across from my son’s. I transferred my son after 4 agonizing months in here, would not recommend it to anybody.
Brittany Aguirre: My daughter was placed at this location for the Pre K program because the locations I requested were full. I signed the denial letter for this location so my daughter could be placed at another facility. I asked if I could take the letter to Partnership for Children myself but she said they have to do it. She assured me they send the letters in weekly so they can have other children fill the spots because people were "fighting" to get into her facility. Well, they neglected to turn in the letter to Partnership for Children for 2 weeks claiming they were waiting for EVERYONE on the list to come in. By doing this she was taking opportunities from my child (and any other child whose parent wanted a different location) to be replaced which she responded with "you're the only one who denied". At the same time by not turning in the form she wasn't receiving acceptance letters for new children so what she told me almost 2 weeks ago was a lie. In my opinion I was being discriminated against because I didn't want my child to attend her location. The whole situation seemed like Precious Moments was holding onto my daughters paperwork until it was too late for her to be placed anywhere else. Forcing me to enroll my daughter so they can receive the funding for her from the NC Pre K program. This facility was not very clean with very dark lighting. From my experience with the mannerism from staff I interacted with it was not the right place for my daughters first experience of school. I strongly recommend to any parent who declines after unexpectedly being placed at Precious Moments by the NC Pre K Program to take the paperwork yourself to Partnership for Children to ensure your child has the opportunity to be placed at another location before there are no other options.
Maleka Nesbitt: My daughter has been attending this center since she was 6 weeks old. The staff and director are professional yet fun. My daughter is very advance for her age and it is because of her teachers. Nobody ever believes me when I say she's 1 because she speaks so well and clearly.
Tamara Galloway: love it my daughter goes there and she has learned a lot... she looks forward to going there and the staff welcomes her everyday and are very nice...
