Coastal Carolina Neuropsychiatric Center: what do users think?
Michael Madino: Once you’re sitting in the appointment the providers are fine. But to make an appointment, I normally have to leave 3-6 phone calls. The day of appointment - sometimes I get my telehealth link sometimes I don’t, no matter how many times my information has been “updated”. Once clicking the link, even if it says I’m checked in and shows the live video on my screen, I have received calls from my PA 45 min after start time asking if I’ll be joining.I’d have a better chance of throwing the first ball for the Yankees then to get the front desk to answer. Their systems are ancient, they are under staffed and it’s beyond frustrating as a client and a customer.
Ashton Godwin: Every single time I have to make an appt here something goes wrong. I always make the appt like normal with someone on the phone & it never fails that the day of the appt, sometimes minutes before, they call me with issues preventing me from being seen or making me 30 minutes late. Even when I make them triple check the first time that everything is taken care of! The communication is awful & the office staff is the least helpful that I’ve ever had to deal with. If it wasn’t for the fact that I had been seeing my DR here for years I would not continue to return. I do not recommend coming here.
Alyssa Baird: Almost every receptionist is rude. Not to mention they think it is okay to bully those with mental health problems. I'd rather find another practice.
Debra Thomas: This place is horrible, I honestly don't know why I keep taking my son here and it's been years. They make a mistake and it's takes them forever to fix it and we end suffering the consequences. It's time tofind a new place to go.
jason cole: 06jun2023 2 pm I am a patient here. That means I am a customer that you provide services for and I thank you for that. I also realize that I can go somewhere else. I realize we all may be having an off day so, with being said requesting my co-pay when I visit should probably start with Good morning or afternoon mr/ Mrs your co-pay is $$$ may I please have you form of payment not just your co-pay is. I realize I can't effect change of people as an individual visiting but you as the employer of the people who work here mostly women I see can. Please take this into consideration. Thanks
Melissa Mangum: I always hate to post negative publicity but after 16 months here, I am just waiting for something better. Appointments for my kids are rushed and maybe 5 minutes. They push pills without really getting to know what is going on. I call 6 days in advance to get medication refills and run out monthly. There are no call backs, no responsiveness and no personalized care. Just frustrating. Apparently their doctor treating them retired, with no notice to us and no transition plan. There is no consistency and zero assistance from the staff, as they do not answer the phone nor respond to calls even within their quoted 72-hour compliance quote.~~~~~~To add, a year later, nothing has changed. Go elsewhere.
Cassy Funkhouser: I will admit, I was a bit scared to come here because of so many negative reviews that I have seen, but I have nothing but positive things to say! I had such a great experience. I called on a Thursday to get an appointment, and was able to be seen on Monday. I was seen and taken back on my scheduled appointment time. Dr. Christensen was really great. He listened to my concerns and I didn’t feel rushed or unheard. There was a hiccup with getting my medication (not ccnc’s fault) the pharmacy did not have my medication to fill the prescription. Dr. Christensen and the front desk staff were awesome, and I got a new script the very next day. Again, nothing but positive things to say! Thanks ccnc for everything 😊
caroline fisher: If I am making an appointment for a certain time, why do I still have to wait 20-40 minutes for my doctor to show up?? And just for a 5 minute conversation?? I think today will be now the third time that my appointments here have made me late coming back to work :(
Dj Fosster: This place is a joke. Dr. Ajay is rude and argumentative and doesn’t listen to you and wants to not let you take part in your own care. The NP I saw over video two times was rude. It’s hard to get them to answer the phone to make an appointment or talk to the nurse. I’m getting out of any doctors office that is affiliated with Cape Fear Valley!
Tor New: God awful.
betty davis: Absolutely love it its great to actually have a dr whom will sit down and listen to u I love Ms Stephanie parker
JJ: One of the worst mental clinics I been to. The only person who was patient and nice trying to get all the right information down was the intake nurse, but the actual psychologist named James A Christensen was really unpleasant to talk to. He acted all condescending and annoyed the whole time rushing through everything prying too much on my suicidal attempts not once suggesting a safety plan to prevent relapses. He wasn't even there in person like they made it seem your just talking to him virtually on an overly loud monitor. It was kinda awkward too how the walls are so thin in the rooms you can hear other people's sessions loudly and hear staff laughing in the hallways. Overall just really didn't like it here. Only came here desperate to get back on stable medication, but I left here feeling a lot worse. Never going back. I don't recommend it here at all especially if your having bad mental breakdowns and suicidal thoughts. Make an appointment with MedPsyche Integrated in Raleigh instead if your in network. They take virtual appointments for first time evaluations and the front office lady I talked to was really nice and friendly. There is better help out there just have to seek it and not give up on yourself. Don't ever allow this mean world to take away your smile. Listen to "Naeleck - All My Heroes ft. Sarah Rebecca"
Bostoncremepie: This was the worst experience with a medical doctor I've ever had. Dr. Christensen was abusive, condescending and overly rude. I would never recommend this Doctor I had an appointment with. My family are physicians, so I can sense when I have mediocre medical care and I have a great support system dealing with my physicians and understanding the role of medication, contraindications and the doctor, James Christensen's demeanor was shouting at me and toxic, I will never go to back to this office. The staff is working in slow motion. I spent 4 hours waiting for the doctor who was over 2 hours late. I subsequently went to another doctor who was great to work with. DrChristensen did not resolve anything, offer solutions and did not uphold due diligence of my medical condition as this was my first visit to coastal Carolina neuropsychiatry office and it was his duty to uphold standards for new patients. I am an MBA graduate, a published author and this doctor talked to me like I was a child. DON'T waste your time with Dr. Christensen. If he had taken the time to understand the damage I experienced due to trauma. Dr. Christensen did not legally adhere to the Hippocratic oath.
Rachelle Hertle: The admin staff is an absolute mess and trying to get a prior authorization in a timely manner for medication is horrendous. Every month there is a lapse in medication because they say they have 72 business hours to respond to any messages but it’s closer to a week before anyone gets back to me. My primary care filled out a form to help that only needed a signature from Dr. V and would immediately allow for the prescription to be filled. Office staff said no, they would scan it and I would have to wait the 72 business hours again. The practice shouldn’t be taking new patients. They are too busy to service anyone in a reasonable amount of time.
Tiffany T: The referral intake person who called me wouldn't even give me the name of the company because she called me instead of my husband... But she gave me the number for the company... So I called the number to get the name, so I could inform my husband of who was trying to get a hold of him... I make his appointments. He will not make appointments, and so he never called. So I called back and told the receptionist that my husband was never going to call to use his referral and I'm not even allowed to know the name of the facility... And come to find out, there's not even staffing available to do counseling or whatever kind of services. I reported to Humana that these facilities are not able to support referrals for mental health patients at this time. I hope people don't actually need mental health who get referred to you, like your suppose to be able to support.
Erika Velarde: My daughter change her therapist 4 times They changed for different reasons not helpful at all.The waiting time to see the psychologist is ridiculous
Veronika Lopez: It's damn near impossible to get ahold of anyone for prescription refills or to get a note to your doctor. The nurses station never answers the phone and if they do you won't get a call back on your prescription refill status. The amount of hoops I have to jump through just to get a script sent to my pharmacy has led me to start the intake process with a completely different center. This place is terrible.
James Parker: Dr v & the nurse practitioners and pa are great !
Anna Bakutis: Absolute joke. Everyone I spoke with apart from the intake nurse was rude, incompetent, and fully unsuited to work with anyone suffering from a mental health affliction. I have never in my life been more disappointed with a “clinic” in my life.
Melanie Herrmann: Service is embarrassing. Staff are beyond sorry and lazy.
Penelope Boythorn: I was honest. I expressed all issues about me that make me feel like I couldn't function as the person I thought I should be. I am employed and self sufficient. I can't have that compromised. I have been diagnosed with depression since I was 12. I knew I had more than depression. The attendant questioned me thoroughly. She really dug deep. The doctor listened. I was so relieved. The therapist I saw really helped me conquer issues that I was hung up on and others I could accept and grow past. First time therapy truly helped me. Their staff is busy. I know I may need to call more than once. But the take walk ins and I have been able to pick up prescriptions without an appointment if I needed it. My insurance isn't accepted here, but I won't change my doctor. I'm through therapy. I have had real results.

Haymount Institute for Psychological Services: what do users think?
Chevon Jackson: Great place. Professional and kind staff. Thank you to physician assistant Kyle Lewis and medical assistant Donna for taking my concerns seriously.
Liz Monge: I took my son to Haymount for an assessment. Dr Stone was very helpful and the process was well explained. The results were thorough and have helped him to get the help that he needs in school. I am grateful for the support staff and Dr. Stone.
Sandy Moore: I highly recommend Haymount. Always pleasant and nice staff, providers are very knowledgeable.
Holly Littell: They advertise they are a EAP provider, however after calling I was told they have very few that take EAP and the ones that do are always booked. Doesn't sound like they really take it, much less new customers... Also shows what type of therapy they offer when only "a few" help people using EAP benefits.
Sara Taylor: Whoever is in charge of following up with schools to make sure they have all the adequate paperwork for if your child has a 504 plan/ learning disability I have been calling since Christmas, they will not return the school phone call or mines either and when I have talked with people they assured me it will be taking care of but nope
Lish Gray: Ketchman is a lazy provider I was asked to complete expensive tests and then instead of following up to confirm the information he said I was lying on the tests for attention and never asked to speak to me again not even to give me the results.
Andy Cabrera: Amazing services! Thankful for the staff and providers that were able to help my daughter receive the care she needed. I recommend this place to everyone.
Lucy Bryant Nash: They are sorry I would not recommend my Dog to this place they lie about everything they comment medicad fraud and refuse to do anything for patients
Clarissa Hartwick: AMARA GORE, MBA, LCSWA . I'm a patient of hers . I have been suffering with severe anxiety, depression and the ptsd. I was in shambles before meeting with her.. She is so Kind, relatable, understanding, professional and has helped me to understand so much about myself.. Love her!!
Asya Muhammad: Mrs. Kimberly Pittman was helpful with my anxiety management and in receiving testing accommodations.
Willow Alston: Dr Ketchman completed an incredibly biased evaluation of my son. He came to a conclusion about my relationship with my son without ever even interviewing me. When I called his office posing as a client of my ex’s attorney who needed an evaluation that would get me full custody, his office staff said they “regularly work with Attorney ________” and tried to set up an appointment. This was an opportunity for my son to finally get the help he desperately needed and Dr Ketchman clearly had another agenda.
Ckcjcn Ckcjcj: Highly disappointed with my experience here I genuinely wish I could give ZERO stars. Had to wait over TWO weeks to get a video call to get back on my antidepressants. First of all, I didn’t even get to speak to a psychiatrist-I spoke to a nurse practitioner. Secondly, the call was maybe.. 10 minutes long? She barely asked me any questions and before I could even tell her that I was struggling with severe anxiety on top of the depression, she was already filling out my prescription & finishing up the appointment. I’m not going to lie, it was a sad excuse for an intake & I will make sure to recommend against going here. Do better.
Dan Ratley (Big Dan): Great and friendly staff!
Chad Everet: Have to agree no professionalism and after $$ . They dont care about helping just getting paid .I pray for all who are stuck with these people.
Online Job: Worst place ever Therapist lied on me and said I never showed up to any of my appointments been calling their to set up an appointment with the therapist to not to be told they will call me back and never got a call back to only now I found out that the therapist lied on her report about me to get me discharged saying I don’t show up
AJ Revels: They used be awesome and now they're not like once was. I never had so much problem til recently. Not know it under new management and crew or what.
T Brown: I filled out an online request. Received a call back the next day. First question was insurance. I told them Medicare. Immediately I was told I'd have to have a referral and their counselors that dealt with Medicare are booking a couple months out I could not believe they would just push me off when I reached out truly needing immediate help. I guess I can just say I tried. It's not as easy to get help because this was proof it's about money more than true help.
Debbie Stark: It has been over a year since we went on the list for testing. When I leave a message and if they do call back, the answer I get is that he is still on the list and it shouldn't be too much longer. That was months ago.
Kelly Montanez: My child has struggled with school for a very long time and I was referred to the Haymount Institute for testing. This testing was completed and scheduled for 1 December and I have still been waiting on a report for over three months. The response I keep receiving "the doctor is writing the report" and timeline keeps moving to weeks. After much persistence today it's finally been "uploaded as we speak". This is absolutely unacceptable as an institute that is meant to be helping me to help my child. Thank you for setting me back further in my journey to help my child. Thank you for taking my money.
Sage Wolf: I called to try and make an appointment. I was put on a call list and was never called at all it's been months. Highly disappointed and if I could I would like to talk to anyone higher up. Never going there
Fransisca Beecher: I started going here when I was 16/17 years old, I worked with Kari (she's on of the therapists) and she has been nothing but amazing. I had to stop going because I got married and Kari didn't accept tricare yet. I messaged her a year later and she confirmed that she does now! I'm excited to book my next appointment with her, the atmosphere in Haymount is homey and all of the staff are so polite. I definitely recommend going here and seeing Kari at least once. She's amazing.

Cusi Antonio MD: what do users think?
Tilina Whetsell: Dr.Cusi is a great doctor,I started seeing him about 25 yrs ago back when he was in private practice by himself.
Rebecca Oseguera: Wonderful doctor. He listened when I explained side effects and medicines not working. This has not been my experience with all psychiatrists. He tried different meds until he found one that worked. I highly recommend him.
Britney Walker: Really Great Doctor!!!
Amy Freeman: I think Dr Cusi is the best! I take my son to see him because he has ADHD. Cusi listens and done so much to help him.
Sandra Andrew: I was turned away bc I didnt have a License for ID. I had my work License which is a photo ID and several other forms but the receptionists would accept it bc "it didn't have an expiration date." Nevermind the fact that I'm there in the first place bc of my mental state. I should've never been turned away. Says a lot about them.
Susanne Almon: Dr. Cusi is the best!
Cortney Moore: Best I've ever seen he listens and doesn't just blow you off and understands that everyone is not the same.😍😍😍👍👍👍👏👏👏 He has truly saved my life.
Lola Bee: Dr Cusi is an AMAZING doctor, and my daughter loves going to see him!
Helen Armistead: Well organized. I feel comfortable around Dr Cusi and the medicine he has me on I trusted him and he was right. So he's help me during the lost of my Mother. He's a Good doctor. I don't wait long we see the reception upon arrival and he makes his rounds. I feel blessed to see Dr Cusi.
Teresa Norris: Dr. Cusi is a very good doctor! He has helped my mom so much!!
KD HF: If it weren't for Dr. Cusi, I would have lost all hope. He is an amazing, caring, truly concerned physician who actually sits and listens to you without cutting you off or making assumptions. Dr. Cusi is the doctor that we ALL wish we had. I am so lucky to have found him.
Rodney Jefferson: Refused to call and verify my insurance because I did not have policy number in hand... son was placed in my custody for emergent situation. Insurance was given to me because of life changing event and Intake line told me that I would have to pay out of pocket because they won't call and verify insurance coverage.
John Parsons: The only doctor that has listen to me. Such a vast difference than the VA and Army dr's.
Tomie Ann Walston: This place is very nice, the staff is awesome EXCEPT for the receptionists. I see Dr. Lytton and he is the best Dr I have ever seen but DR CUSI is NOT. I saw him one time as refered by Dr. Lytton to have Dr Cusi to "take a look at me for a second opinion" on my situation. Dr. Lytton said he just wanted Dr Cusi to evaluate me "kind of like a second pair of eyes" to try to get another perspective on me. Dr. Cusi talked to me for like 30 seconds and only asked if thing where going ok for me and then sent me out the door. He didn't get a second perspective at all. I even tried to ask him what he thought about my situation and he didn't even say anything! He was irritated with my question and in a rush to get me out. I immediately told them I did not want to see him again and to only schedule me with Dr. Lytton. The office is nice but Dr Cusi is dismissive and uninterested. Ask for Dr Lytton or as they call him.. " Dr Drew" if you want good patient care.
Dianna Goforth: I like Dr. Cusi very much!! He takes the time to really listen. My son and I now see his PA Andrew. Andrew is wonderful...such a nice person!! Thank you to both of you!!!
Sheila Lassiter: Been her almost a year but for the last 3months or so someone it's doing there job. We had a appointment said I needed something extra and the script was never sent. It could have been a misunderstanding but when I called back the nurse and receptionist wouldn't let me finish talking just kept cutting me off telling me what's in the notes. So after 3 days and going up there twice I received something. The following month more BS. Had my appointment he said just refillng? Yes. Well Ill send them over. Missing one when I got there. (pissed off). On the phone with the receptionist. We don't have anything in ur file for this medication since May of last year. Is this a joke, lol. Did I receive this medicine from a ghost,i have the empty bottle rt here. Do you want to see it? No. So 5 days later and 3 phone calls, nothing yet.. It's time for me to find another Doc office...
Michelle Felix: Dr. Cusi and the staff are very nice. He is my son's doctor for his ADHD medicine. Check in process is fairly quick but you normally have about a 20-30 minute wait time to see the Dr once you are back in the room. In my opinion he is worth the wait! He takes his time unlike most doctors who are in and out in 5 minutes. He is a good listener and doesn't try to push anything on you. He is great with my son. I did some research and read online reviews before choosing a doctor and I'm glad we choose this office!
Brent Culbreth: This man saved my life, and was always there too listen.
Marguerite Miller: This companies staff are rude & NOT HELPFUL in the least. He is top notch & they are lucky he continues with them.
Bella Summers: Dr. Cusi is a good doctor however his staff are idiots. They take days to return your call and they are NOT helpful. I tried to get them to understand that their office are responsible to get more visits approved. I was told that it was their company's policy that parents are responsible but anyone with a brain knows that insurance companies require the medical office to call and get new authorizations for your loved one. I think they are lazy and I had to essentially tell them how inadequate they are which led them to a number for Dr. Cusi intake staff who does contact insurance companies to request for more authorizations for visits. Makes me wonder that they don't tell you that so you are stuck with the full bill without the benefit of having your insurance pay for the visit. This is an disservice to patients, families and the community as a whole. Shame on them!
Zoja Herscha: He has been my psychiatrist since I was 13 and I am now 27. He's been through ADD with me, depression/suicidal thoughts from the pain of my chronic Lyme Neuroborreliosis Complex, MSIDS and myelating encephalopathy. He's always willing to listen to things beyond psychiatry and give you advice on other health issues as well (remember, he's still an MD, and went through the same training as your family doctor! )

Carolina Psychiatry PC: what do users think?
Omar Smith: If I didn't have to give a star I went and they deserve no stars and the only reason they deserve a half a star is because the good people that was there and they are leaving they communication skills are horrible they act nonchalant all the time they don't know what is going on then on top of that they get rude and hang up on you and then choose to say oh the phone got disconnected and it's sad when kids even see and don't even want to come
Jada Raynor Moore: Very disgusted with the phone staff! I’ve been trying to get my daughters meds and for 3 days straight every time I call their phone just rings and rings and no voicemail. I refuse to deal with inexperienced reception staff so I deal strictly with office manager Tammy.
Dj Fosster: Poor communication for office staff NEVER answers the phone. Could not get my med refills and my pharmacy faxed a request to no avail. I was rushed through on my very first appointment because it was almost lunch time. Not a professional atmosphere at all and needs to be closed down. Rude office staff except for the lady that does the lab work. Very dissatisfied with the way this place does “business”.
Danielle Starks: Front desk is very disrespectful Do not know how to talk to patients change medications without talking to patients keep changing my doctors I done went through four doctors in this year if anybody knows any other doctor office please help me I need a referral
Joyce Caserta: I have been a patient here for over 5 years and the turn over in the front office is CONSTANT! Not to mention the right hand doesn’t have ANY idea what the left is doing. I have been patient and stayed there because I hate having to change things but I finally decided enough is enough on more occasion then I can count they have problems with billing either over billing/double billing. They screw up and then try and make you pay for their mistakes and people leaving so frequently. The sad part is there are decent people that work/worked there. The staff office and even providers have come and gone due to the poor management here. I personally don’t usually write reviews but I always read them- had I had this information prior to becoming a patient I would have steered clear! So if you don’t want the headache trust me and find another establishment to see your psychiatrist and/or therapist!!
Patricia Stewart: I definitely recommend Dr Chowdury. He has brought me from the point of being suicidal after the death of my parents to now, where I feel great and love being alive. To me, the best thing about Dr Chowdury is that he wants to understand how I’m feeling. He asks questions and listens when I need to explain myself. That’ is the big difference between a good doctor and a great one. Dr Chowdury sincerely cares about his patients. I’m glad that he knew how to treat my condition without overmedicating me. I appreciate all he’s done for me.
Molly Largent: They put you on hold as soon as they answer the phones then hang up on you
Meagan Deitz: Amazing Care! Everybody is so friendly and smiling. Front desk staff remembered my name when I walked in and all had big smiles. Provider was warm and welcoming as well. Listened to all my concerns and made sure I was confident with the treatment plan. Thank you Carolina Psychiatric!
Jessica Alexander: Haven’t even had an appointment yet and already over this place . Had a referral sent , after a month of not hearing from them , i called them, only for them to tell me to come in and get paperwork before I can get an appointment. Like why not tell your patients that, instead of having them just sitting around waiting because they don’t know. Then I finally go by to get the paperwork and they are close for Lunch but can’t put that on their website or anything? Haven’t even gotten in with this place yet and already over it .
Inanimate: Ever since I started seeing Dr. Amber, my life has done nothing but get better. She cares, she always asks me how I am and makes sure I haven’t been depressed or have anxiety since last month, and she always tells me she’s here for me if I ever need anything. Highly recommend this place.
Stephanie Royse: I have nothing but good things to say about Carolina Psychiatry-- I have seen two providers here (Dr. C and Kayla) and they were very kind and professional and listened to all my concerns every visit. I had to get some of my medication changed and Dr. C really looked outside of the box and adjusted my medications and I see huge improvement. The front staff has always been very sweet to me and helped me get appointments in a timely manner-- even on my worst days the front staff has treated me kindly. So thank you, thank you, thank you! Last but not least, my Therapist, Ashley has been absolutely amazing. She's very genuine and down to earth and helped me process a lot of the terrible things I have gone through within the last few months. This is truly an excellent team and I couldn't thank them enough for helping me.-Stephanie K.
Victoria McBroom: Had been with this doctor for 12+ years and due to unfortunate circumstances and unforseen opinions expressed by the psychiatrist while i was being open and honest, I will no longer be seeing him
Jordan Murphy: The front desk staff is not the friendliest. I’m always placed on hold for a long time if I’m lucky to even get someone to answer the phone in the first place. Leaving a message is never an option. Ashley and Amber are amazing though and that’s why I continue to use them.
Radio Muerte: The staff is rude, probably due to hunger. They are just joking around, glued to their cellphones, eating, not paying attention to the patients.
Ellie Garza: Awesome place awesome staff!
S Ramirez: UPDATE: I finally got the letter I needed today, 8/4/20, after addressing the issue via letter to Dr. Rahmen. It was originally requested on 6/26/20. It was not free, it costed me stress, anxiety and frustration.
kim brown: Everyone has been professional
Cristy Bailey-Harper: Well, first impression sucks. I’ve been trying to make an appointment for four days. No one answers the phone, then it tells you to leave a message, but then says you can’t leave a message or just hangs up on you.
Suezette Mills: Very kind, patient, and discreet. I love my provider , I love the whole establishment and staff honestly. I'd recommend highly
Aniyah ReNae: they ignore phone calls, staff are nonchalant, they reschedule your appointments without telling you. I would give them no stars!
Shavon Franklin: Dr. Ayers is great; however, the staff could use some work. I have been waiting on my letter for my emotional support animal for nearly 2 months, and attempted to call to reschedule an appointment but was unable to due to the phones being busy and there is never an option to leave a voicemail any more. There use to be but it didn't matter because they didn't return calls. Seriously considering finding another psychiatrist.
