Cape Fear Valley Sleep Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and The Joint Commission. It is directed by Amita Shetty, M.D. who has been board-certified in sleep medicine since 2007.
The Sleep Center staff treats a variety of sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy (daytime sleepiness), periodic limb movement disorder and restless legs syndrome.
Sleep disorders are serious. Left untreated, they may result in a serious medical condition, such as heart disease, high blood pressure and stroke.
The Sleep Center lab operates six nights a week. There are six rooms available and each has an adjustable sleep number bed for your comfort.
The Sleep Center is located at 3308 Melrose Road and the clinic hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. We are closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.

Dennis Reid: I just had a great visit at Med One Sleep Center today. I sincerely want to thank Dr. Gaskins, my nurse Lisa, and my receptionist Angel. Dr. Gaskins has been my doctor for a while now and I'm getting better sleep at night as well as making improvements. Nurse Lisa is an exceptional kind professional that accent care for others. Angel has brought much to the office, a caring telephone voice confirming my appointments and the greeting while entering the office is beyond approach. Thank you all for a wonderful visit.
tanya whitson (Ms. T): I had a sleep study consultation Saturday 3/4 @ 1215p. From reception, Ms. Angel was professional, pleasant and welcoming. Be prepared there is substantial paperwork to fill out, both at home and once in the office but it is worth it. They seem to be very thorough with questions and care. Ms. Lisa, the nurse was another gem, great conversation and personable! Dr. Elnaggar, seemed genuinely interested in my sleep habits and getting to the heart of the issue. I was nervous about this study and was reluctant to face my sleep issues but I am looking forward to facing this head on. I am glad Med One Sleep was recommended!

The sleep room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The tech was accomodating to what I needed to get my study done properly and actually sleep, considering you are trying to sleep in a strange place.

Each and every person I came in contact with was the upmost professional.I was so impressed with Dr Gaskins and the time he took to explain my disease. I know I would have been more motivated to use this machine a year ago, had someone actually explained to me what would happen to me if I didn’t.I highly recommend this sleep center— check it out!
Paul Hunt: Had a sleep study done then called back to get medical records and was told there computer system has been down since Nov 1, 2021, it’s now December 7, 2021 and the still is still down. How unprofessional is that of a medical facility not to be able to give a patient there records?

The medical staff stay in close contact with you about your progress and explaining the next steps. The rooms are very comfortable, private, and quiet.
9 5: Exceptional service! Ms. Hensley saved me time by going above and beyond. I needed my records from a considerable time ago. I honestly didn’t think I would be able to obtain them. I figured I’d call anyway. Initially, I was not found in the system. Oh but, Ms. Hensley found me! She also streamlined the process with for me to receive them! Thank you!
Phillip Harte: Despite needing a sleep study, it was a good experience. The staff were very friendly and took the time to explain everything to me. I hope I never need another sleep study, but if I do, I would have no issues coming back there.
